´Duck Dynasty´ star suspended
for anti-gay comments

Entertainment Weekly, by James Hibberd

Original Article

Posted By:cjjeepercreeper, 12/18/2013 8:06:51 PM

A&E broke its silence on Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson’s anti-gay comments late Wednesday. The cable network announced Robertson is off the hit show for the time being. The network issued the following statement to EW: “We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty. His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely.”

Comments:
This is the most idiotic business decision I have seen in a long time.

One hopes their ratings nosedive. This constant whining by minorities has gotten real, REAL old. I have nothing against them. Neither do I have anything against this guy for thinking what he thinks. It´s his mind and his business. Now if the network would grow a pair and tell the gay world to grow up and quit crying.

Considering that Phil Robertson is probably the finest person on A&E and the twinklobby, is, well, a bunch of silly twinks used to screaming and getting their way, I´m thinking it will be an easy choice to block A&E forever after the DD brigade walks.

Duck Dynasty fans need to call and write A&E and let them know what they think about their decision. Notice that "A&E" said through "a spokesperson" that "the cable network announced" that Phil is off the show for the time being.

Nobody stepped up to put a face and name behind the suspension of Phil Robertson, who only paraphrased 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, btw. Can´t say I blame them. I´d be ashamed to show my face for suspending an honest man for speaking the truth as written in the inspired word of God, too, especially for the sake of political correctness.

I didn´t see anything he said in the interview that was not factual. Is it not true that a vagina is not intended for the same purpose as an anus? It´s biology, not opinion. Perhaps someone needs to send those making decisions at A&E a diagram of the human reproductive system.

Just sent this to A&E:
Today, I heard that A&E suspended Phil Robertson for his comments to GQ during an interview. There was nothing wrong with his comments and he clearly stated that they were his opinions, not A&E´s. The fact that A&E is pandering to the LGBT community says so much about your network, and it is not positive. Apparently, A&E doesn´t believe in the First Amendment. While Phil´s comments may have offended the LGBT community, who by the way are offended by any comment that does not wholeheartedly embrace their lifestyle, your actions are despicable and fly in the face of free speech. I only hope that the rest of the Robertsons take their program to another network, one that is not so politically correct. You would seriously sink in the ratings, which you would deserve. Your network lacks integrity and character, and I for one, and my extended family will not be watching A&E any more. Your values are apparently so different than ours that I see no reason to support you with our viewership.

I found Phil Robertson´s comments somewhat amusing even though I don´t agree with all that he said. In any case, this was a set-up by GQ magazine. This magazine is owned by a Democrat-voting liberal media establishment with links to the Obama administration.

Even A&E, on which Duck Dynasty airs, is owned by people with links to the Obama administration. The whole thing smells of a set-up designed to get those who don´t abide 100% by the liberal doctrine.

If A & E thinks that Ms. Kay will continue on the show, they have another think coming. Here´s how I see this developing. A & E probably have individual contracts with each member of the family. There are probably clauses in those contracts about how they are to conduct themselves. How long before the rest of the family makes statements that forces A & E to fire them all? Winners and losers..Winners-the Roberstson family. Losers- A & E and their sponsors...Get real A & E, y´all are a bunch of morons and so are your lawyers.

A&E was only one of the few networks I watch on cable TV. One more reason to stop my cable service. I don´t watch Duck Dynasty, I think it is stupid. But I like their family and their values. My big thing is that Chelsea Handler has a show on the E channel that seems to cater to openly gay values and mocks Christians with every chance. I think it is nasty, and I don´t watch it. Don´t like a show; don´t watch it. Simple.

Liberals want successful conservatives to be caught by the "gay trap". This trap is used to ensnare and destroy those who might also have opinions on issues such as abortion that run counter to the liberal doctrine. It´s how liberals manage to neutralize all opposition to the liberal doctrine.

The sad thing is that there are some conservatives who will fail to see this as a free speech issue. Instead, they will view it as a discussion about morality. Ultimately, it is not about morality. Nobody is going to change Phil Robertson´s moral views, not even a suspension.

However, he will be financially penalized for expressing his views, and that´s where the real concern should lie.

They were wealthy before the show, and as principled as they appear to be, this is matters little. They are probably better off not being associated with a pro-gay agenda driven week-kneed network. They can find a better venue where their values are appreciated. Put them on the Blaze, their fans will follow.

Well, I hope the people who stop watching Duck Dynasty let the network know why too, #33. If not they will claim it´s because everybody was as "offended" as "the network" was about what Phil said.

They need to know that Duck Dynasty fans support Phil´s (and everyone else´s) right to free speech. There is a lot of filth being shoved in our faces in the name of free speech. It´s high time decency is represented and heard. Thank you Phil Robertson. I hope the rest of your family joins you and takes the American Family Robertson to a network that allows them to be who they are.

Duck Dynasty has their products everywhere-from towels
to t shirts.
Robertson´s comments now jeopardize their entire dynasty, including two books on the best seller list.
All Robertson had to say was no comment.
His remarks offended a lot of people and advertisers,
not just the gay community.
When you are selling products , like the Robertsons are,
it always makes good business sense to avoid any kind of controversy .

The vile and objectionable things said daily by pro-homosexual activists and websites about anybody who disagrees, for any reason, never carry any consequences. Their "constitutional right" to speak their mind apparently doesn´t extend to any critic, however mild and innocuous. For thousands of years in virtually every culture and society, homosexual acts have been regarded as perversion. Look up the definition of perversion, consider biological facts. Man and woman were, whether evolutionarily, or deliberately designed, sexually compatible, for the continuance of the human race biologically, in ways that no other sexual activity can or will every match. Choosing any other sexual activity will not change that truth.

This is all so precious. Duck Dynasty is a #1 cable show, something new & novel for A&E. How many openly gay individuals watch "Duck Dynasty"? 200 nationwide?

Does anyone on the planet think the rest of the Robertsons will continue with the show after A&E fired their founding patriarch over speaking his mind honestly in a hit-job magazine interview, making comments with which the rest of the family surely agree?

Now A&E can have no #1 show, in order to save face with its minuscule gay audience. Good luck with that.

Phil Robertson can´t back down and withdraw his comments without losing face and losing the respect of his audience. A&E can´t back down without risking howls of protest from the leftists who never watched the show. John Kerry and Her Thighness put together couldn´t resolve this impasse. Okay, that´s a low standard, but still....

Pope Francis: “If someone is gay and seeks the Lord with good will, who am I to judge?”

Response from GLAAD: “"Phil and his family claim to be Christian, but Phil´s lies about an entire community fly in the face of what true Christians believe."

Response from ‘The Advocate’: Names Pope Francis their man of the year.

Response from A&E: Places Phil Robertson on indefinite hiatus.

Response from Viewers: Unbridled and almost universal support for Phil Robertson.

Family members tell KOB that U.S. Marshals have located Lacey DeWent, the Albuquerque 14-year-old reported missing more than two weeks ago, in Arkansas. According to DeWent´s father, Marshals located DeWent with 26-year-old Robert Butler in Fort Smith, Ark. The family is on their way to the airport to be reunited with their daughter. DeWent and Butler met online and tried to form a relationship, but he was arrested for being in contact with her.

After April 8, 2014, Microsoft will no longer support the Windows XP operating system. There will be no more security fixes, software updates or technical support, although Microsoft will still provide some anti-malware support for an unspecified amount of time. Computers that continue to run Windows XP will be at increased risk for malware infection after April 8, yet many businesses have critical XP-only applications. Others can´t afford to upgrade to new PCs. How much of a risk are they running?

The surge in the popularity of inexpensive but cutting-edge smartphones is more than just another marketplace success story. It is one with profound social implications, particularly among low-income Black and Hispanic consumers who have long been on the losing end of the digital divide. If there has been any recent development that has helped to bridge that divide in communities like my own here in Harlem, it has been the advent of low-priced smartphones. Indeed, studies have shown that Black and Hispanics access the Internet on a cellphone, tablets or other mobile handheld devices at demonstrably higher rates than whites.

A federal appeals court on Thursday upheld Texas´ tough abortion restrictions that have led to the closure of nearly 20 clinics around the state, saying the new rules don´t jeopardize women´s health. A panel of judges at the New Orleans-based 5th Circuit Court of Appeals overturned a lower court judge who said the rules violate the U.S. Constitution and served no medical purpose. Despite the lower court´s ruling, the appeals court already had allowed some rules to go into effect while it considered the case. The latest decision means more regulations will begin later this year, as scheduled, and sets

The Farmington Police Department now orders its ammunition about a year in advance after retail stocks nationally began running low due to greater demand. Trade officials say the shortages largely began in 2013 when gun owners began stockpiling bullets...(snip)The source of the fear that drove ammunition hoarding is President Barack Obama, said Erich Pratt, director of communications for Gun Owners of America, a firearms advocacy lobbying group. "You could give him the gun-salesman of the year award," he said.

On the eve of the Netanyahu visit to Washington, President Obama gave a lengthy interview to Jeffrey Goldberg that shows a chief executive who has learned next to nothing about the world in his five years in office. First, kudos to Goldberg: he pressed Obama repeatedly, challenging vague formulations and seeking clarity. Goldberg pushed Obama hard, especially on Iran and Syria. Obama isn’t good off the cuff, especially when challenged; he is far better with a prepared speech. And what emerged is an awful portrait of the president and his conception of the world.

FARMINGTON — Local and federal law enforcement officials charged 29 people Wednesday on suspicion of trafficking methamphetamine in San Juan County. The charges came after a year-long investigation into a meth dealing ring in northwestern New Mexico that investigators called "Brown ICE," law enforcement officials said at a press conference in Farmington on Wednesday evening. The meth dealing network was allegedly headed by Isaac Anaya, a 30-year-old Farmington man, said San Juan County Sheriff´s Office Lt. Neil Haws, the director of the Region II Narcotics Task Force.

LOS ANGELES – Paramount Studios has poured an estimated $125 million into the production of “Noah,” casting big names like Emma Watson and Russell Crowe, and trusting their baby to Oscar-nominated director Darren Aronofsky. But six weeks ahead of its theatrical release, concern is brewing that the flick may not be popular with Christians at the box office. Faith Driven Consumer – a movement connecting Christian consumers with companies compatible with a biblical worldview – issued the results of an online survey, first published in Variety, that indicated a whopping 98 percent of faith-driven consumers are “unsatisfied with (the) Bible-themed

The global warming hysteria is disastrous enough in its intended goal, which is to ban the use of our cheapest and most abundant fuels and force us to limp along on "alternative energy" sources that are insufficient to support an industrial civilization. But along the way, the global warming campaign is already wrecking our science and politics by seeking to establish a dogma that cannot legally be questioned. The critical point in this campaign is a defamation lawsuit by global warming promoter Michael Mann against Mark Steyn, National Review, and the Competitive Enterprise Institute.

For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

That was quite a victory dance President Obama did Thursday while claiming Obamacare is “working” because eight million people have now supposedly signed up for the health care program. He even indulged in some less-than-subtle mockery of Republicans - and by extension the majority of Americans who have disapproved of Obamacare since before it became law. "The repeal debate is and should be over,” Obama said, taking a dig at Republicans who are “going through, you know, the stages of grief … anger and denial and all that stuff …” But a president who is viewed by most Americans as less

But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

WASHINGTON--Rushing to an afternoon vote last month, Sen. Ted Cruz hopped the underground tram to the U.S. Capitol from his office across the street. The Texan planted his black ostrich cowboy boots in the middle of the small subway car without getting so much as a nod from the other senators--Republican or Democrat--amiably chatting or huddled in their seats. Mr. Cruz finds himself standing alone a lot these days. His response to the cold shoulders: "The establishment despised Ronald Reagan" before he became president, "but the people loved him." In a speech earlier this week, Lisa O. Monaco’s full, prepared text is available here. She presented the speech, entitled “Countering Violent Extremism and the Power of Community,” at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government on April 15. Monaco began her remarks by eloquently describing the lives tragically lost last year during the Boston Marathon bombings.
