A northeast Minneapolis man said he interrupted an armed and bloody robbery at a corner market in his neighborhood, sending the two suspects fleeing when he drew his handgun from his holster and had it “at the ready.” The confrontation occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday outside the University Market in the 300 block of 37th Avenue, according to police and the man who stepped in and halted the crime. Store owner Mohamed S. Ahmed, 41, had the “back of his skull split open pretty good” from being pistol-whipped by one of

"At the ready" is no place for your weapon when the victim´s skull is already split open.
"On target" would be preferred, followed by rounds being placed center mass, followed by the sound of an empty mag hitting the deck, and the slide slamming shut on the next round.

Totally shocked that the media would report this, since it´s not in keeping with the liberal agenda! They usually only report when someone is killed by an ´assault´ weapon.

that man was taking a terrible chance admitting that he used a gun to thwart a crime. in a blue state he has all the chances of being put into an Obama gulag.

The poor perps where just redistributing income and meant no harm. How long before the hero is arrested for making them feel bad? /sarcasm off?

Now if the reporters from that useless newspaper would just print a description of the robbers, people in Minneapolis could help find them. I´m sure we all have a pretty good idea of what the perps look like since they won´t say what they look like.

The Red Star will not participate in targeting, #5. A perp may get caught if they are not careful.

What is shocking is that Mr. Conceal Carry wasn´t arrested. This is after all Minneapolis where criminals come first.

FTA: so-called "permit to carry,"

Any police office who says that is to stupid to be a police officer. Either it IS a permit or it ISN´T. No in between, no ´so called´.

If Minnesota desires to be a Communist State then secede from the US and call yourself Communist Minnesota. Then your police departments can be the Gestapo.

Washington Republicans on Sunday restated their argument that President Obama has violated the Constitution by using executive orders to alter the Affordable Care Act, but acknowledged they likely have no recourse or ability to stop another incident. Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, told “Fox News Sunday” that congressional Republicans think the president abused the government’s separation of powers by using the executive orders to sidestep Congress and delay the law’s employer mandate. “The president knows this is wrong.” - Sen. NBC is under fire after one of its reporters questioned bronze medal winning skier Bode Miller so much about the death of his brother he began to sob uncontrollably. Correspondent Christin Cooper interviewed Miller just moments after he finished third in the Super G fnal, making him both the most medaled skier in history and the oldest person to win an alpine medal at the Games. [Snip] Miller was the first to bring up his brother, Chilly, a snowboarder who died in April from a seizure, but Cooper continued to push to the point that he had to walk away.

America’s Founding Fathers fiercely held to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness—values which Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) claimed align seamlessly with Obamacare. Pelosi explained why the law is “very sound policy” during a press conference Friday: To go to back to our founders once again, they sacrificed it all for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This law, the affordable care act, is about a healthier life, the liberty to pursue your happiness. That is solid policy, and the mandate is central to that. This argument should be added to the montage of lies being promulgated by the Obama

AUSTIN, Tex. — Luci Baines Johnson leaned forward in her father’s private suite at the L.B.J. Presidential Library, her voice breaking as she recounted the “agony of Vietnam” that engulfed Lyndon Baines Johnson and the pain she feels to this day of witnessing his presidency judged through the prism of a failed war. “Nobody wanted that war less than Lyndon Johnson,” said Ms. Johnson, 66, who is the president’s younger daughter. “No matter how hard he tried, he didn’t seem to be able to get out of that quagmire. Not only did he not get out of it in his lifetime,

Who died and made John Kerry an Islamic scholar? U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry spent part of his Sunday in his stocking feet at an Indonesian mosque, at one point beating a huge drum used to call Muslims to prayer. Kerry’s visit to the modern Istiqlal Mosque in central Jakarta, said to be the largest mosque in Southeast Asia with a capacity of 130,000, was designed to demonstrate his respect for Islam as he visited the world’s largest Muslim-majority nation. — Having removed his shoes in keeping with Islamic custom, Kerry at one point was shown a gigantic, skin-covered drum which rests sideways

Jakarta, Indonesia - Climate change may be the world´s "most fearsome" weapon of mass destruction and urgent global action is needed to combat it, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said on Sunday, comparing those who deny its existence or question its causes to people who insist the Earth is flat. In a speech to Indonesian students, civic leaders and government officials in Jakarta, Kerry laid into climate change skeptics, accusing them of using shoddy science and scientists to delay measures needed to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases at the risk of imperiling the planet. Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney on Sunday warned his party not to highlight the Monica Lewinsky scandal when attacking possible Democratic White House frontrunner Hillary Clinton, saying to keep attention instead on Clinton´s record. "I don´t think Bill Clinton is as relevant as Hillary Clinton if she decides to run for president,” Romney said on NBC´s “Meet the Press,” adding that the former first lady “has her own record and her own vision." Some Republicans, particularly Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, have refocused attention on former President Bill Clinton for the Lewinsky scandal, saying Democrats can´t frame themselves as the champions

WASHINGTON — Politics is sometimes the art of choosing the lesser of evils. For Sen. John Cornyn and other GOP leaders, it was better to let Democrats raise the debt ceiling last week than to dig in and risk a federal default. But tamping down a filibuster from Sen. Ted Cruz invited the wrath of the tea party. We’ll find out soon enough whether Cornyn pays a price — or, possibly, emerges stronger and more independent after the March 4 primary.(Snip)To many Republicans, the fight Cruz had picked was the wrong one. Default would have dire implications for the world economy. Even toying

Washington - Mitt Romney told GOP pals Sunday to drop talk of ex-President Bill Clinton’s sexual shenanigans if wife Hillary makes her own White House bid. “I don’t think Bill Clinton is as relevant as Hillary Clinton if Hillary Clinton decides to run for President,” the 2012 Republican nominee said on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” citing the former First Lady’s own record, including stints as a U.S. senator from New York and as secretary of state. Romney also noted that the years of Bill Clinton’s presidency “were, by and large, positive economic times for the country.” The former Massachusetts governor added that Hillary Clinton

A new poll puts Obama’s false promise, “if you like your healthcare plan you can keep it,” in perspective: 64% of Americans say ObamaCare would’ve never passed if Americans had known the truth in 2009. Moreover, the Fox news poll found the sentiment to be spread across all party lines, with 74% of Republicans, 68% of Independents and 54% of Democrats saying Obama’s unpopular healthcare program would never have passed. Even more troubling, 56% of Americans said ObamaCare was more about the government seizing control of citizens’ lives, versus just 40% who felt Obama’s plan was about improving healthcare. Once again, bitter feelings are being cast in the direction of Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz. With the House passing the “clean” debt ceiling bill and sending it to the Democratic-controlled Senate, it was clear that this particular bill was going to be passed and sent to the president for his signature. But Cruz didn´t want to let Senate Republicans, including Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., off the hook and give President Obama a blank check to once again increase the debt ceiling as we are drowning in red ink. He didn't want Republicans to simply vote against the bill, hiding behind the Democrat majority who were sure to pass it.
