Two and a Half Cheers for Ryan-Murray
American Spectator, by Peter Ferrara

Original Article

My life’s work is devoted to cutting the federal government in half.(Snip)In fact, I’m probably the only person in Washington who thinks the legislation that would have that effect over the long run can and quite possibly will be enacted within the next 10 years (politics operates in cycles, like a pendulum, thank you Barack Obama). And I have worked directly on that project with Paul Ryan — he is one of the few people in America who understands that if these reforms are done right, the poor, seniors, those in need of health care, working people, America, and the

Paul Ryan cooked up this budget deal which funds Obamacare for two years with the blessing of John Boehner. Then, when the Tea Party complained, Boehner declared war on the Tea Party.

I see no cheer here, only a sellout of conservative values. We stood for jack squat.

FTA: "The best answer would be because that reflects how the American people, or at least those who showed up at the polls, voted last year, and that is who Congressional Republican leaders work for."

So I guess that means we should also accept Zerocare as the law of the land?

What a dumb argument.

According to Mr Ferrara, Paul Ryan and the GOP have to please the Dems more in legislating than the GOP because they stuffed more ballot boxes in 2012 than GOP did. After all they won.
This is nothing but a long winded blog of Mr Ferrara´s wishful thinking. He seems to think our economy will go on for ten years, and beyond, with these incompetents in Congress spending us into disaster. We do not have ten years to get this corrected before we go bankrupt.
I hope Mr Ferrara feels better after getting this off his chest, but he instilled no more confidence in Paul Ryan with his words. I think that was his purpose. It´s time to
get real Mr Ferrara.

I am one of those conservative Republicans who feel we need a budget deal in order to avoid a shutdown----which would take the eye off Obamacare and probably once again lose us the Senate and maybe even some of the House. We can
´t change things, cut taxes etc. until we have some control. BUT my view of Paul Ryan just went down 1000%. HOW could he allow civil servants etc. have their wages and budgets stay in tact but allow the military veterans, who put their lives on the line for us, take cuts that will very much hurt them over time. WHAT WAS HE THINKING???????? I can see how the Dems, who don´t value the military until THEIR bull is gored, can do this, but RYAN ??????? Disgusting!!!!!!

When we take back the senate in 2014 the first thing after repeal of Obamacare is repeal the odious hit on veterans.

I don´t care for the compromise but I accept it´s the best we could do. No extension of unemployment benefits, no shutdown. I lay the blame squarely at the feet of Jim DeMint, Ted Cruz and Mike Lee. We had a CR ready to pass the Senate that included the complete sequester. Obama would have signed it. Instead we attempted to defund Obamacare by filibustering the bill that would defund Obamacare. Once we did that Obama was sure to capitulate. One of the dumbest strategies ever. During the government shutdown how much of Obamacare ceased? Not much, 90% of it is mandatory spending. So now we´re stuck with a bad compromise. I like DeMint, Cruz and Lee but this time, in my opinion, they goofed.

This week news emerged that two Spanish historians have identified the Holy Grail, the cup from which Jesus drank the night before he died. And wouldn’t you know it, they found the darned thing right before Easter, too! This is more than just your average Christian relic. According to some later legends, it was also used to catch the blood that flowed from his side at the crucifixion and bestows immortality on those who drank from it. The cup was “discovered” at a museum—on display—at the San Isidro Basilica León in northwestern Spain by Margarita Torres and José Manuel Ortega del

B eneath the pine forests and hot springs of Yellowstone National Park is a huge chamber of magma, which by some measures makes the park´s volcano the world’s largest. The last three eruptions at Yellowstone occurred 2.1 million, 1.3 million, and 640,000 years ago, respectively. Scientists estimate that another mega-eruption — which would send billions of cubic meters of choking ash up to 15 miles in the air, blackening the skies and drastically changing the climate — could possibly occur in the next 100,000 years. Such an event would present a huge danger to human civilization — killing millions in the initial

In the midst of a season which finds Republicans knuckling down and focusing on anywhere from six to ten Senate seats which they may be able to flip this fall, it’s worth remembering that the Democrats are not asleep at the wheel. They have their eyes on holding on to their slim Senate majority by their fingernails with one race in particular whetting their appetites… and it’s none other than the Senate Majority Minority Leader’s. But is Mitch McConnell actually in danger? There’s reason for him to be concerned, no doubt, but Matt Lewis has been doing some digging and

Former top Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod acknowledged Saturday that Democrats face tough challenges in November, following a new Associated Press-GfK poll that shows voters increasingly appear to want Republicans over Democrats to control Congress. Thirty-seven percent in the poll last month chose Republicans, compared to 36 percent who said they would rather see Democrats in charge, with the November general elections seven months away. Professionally making money from grassroots Republicans inevitably involves trolling liberals, something in which Sarah Palin is an expert, albeit with diminishing returns as her brief period of political relevance recedes. The tea party-backed challenger to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell portrayed the event last Saturday as a states´ rights rally, but his appearance among cockfight backers prompted one animal-rights group to call on Bevin to withdraw from the May 20 GOP primary. Although the president and his aides trumpeted the ObamaCare enrollment figures as a success, the administration did not always see those numbers as something to brag about. In his Rose Garden appearance this week, Obama seemed elated to proclaim "7.1 million Americans have now signed up for private insurance plans through these marketplaces." But it remains unclear how many of those sign ups have paid premiums in order to be officially enrolled, or how many were previously uninsured. In addition, even though officials are celebrating the 7 million mark, the White House once minimized numbers twice that large-- the 14 million people in the
