Diplomat’s arrest: India

India on Tuesday launched a series of reprisals against the US over a diplomat’s arrest in New York, including pulling identity cards for American consular officials in the country, foreign ministry sources said. “We have ordered the withdrawal of all ID cards that are issued by the Ministry of External Affairs to the officials at the US consulates across India,” a senior ministry source said on condition of anonymity. [Snip] Indian security forces were also removing police barricades from streets near the US embassy in the capital New Delhi, in another apparent measure over the arrest. “We have put in

NYC could probably wipe out its debt in days if it could collect on all the fines owed by the diplomats who work at the UN Building. Any non citizen who commits a crime in my Country should not only be subject to arrest, but expulsion from this Country as well. As long as there is plenty of proof, we should not be afraid to enforce the law.

Retribution by the diplomat´s home country in a matter like this just shows how uncivilized and savage they really are.
Maybe we should be pulling all those thousands of jobs out of India right about now and bring them home to our own citizens. At least then, we could understand what the help desk people are saying.

Malaysia Airlines plane: Has there

Some of the world’s most militarised regimes might be covering up embarrassing details about the flightpath of the missing Malaysia Airlines jet, a leading aviation expert has suggested. David Learmount, operations and safety editor at the respected Flight Global publication, said countries in the world’s most volatile region might be withholding vital radar data about Flight MH370 for fear it would expose holes in their multibillion pound air defences. [Snip] Mr Learmount said: “Maybe these states’ air defences, like Malaysia’s, are not what they are cracked up to be. And maybe they wouldn’t want the rest of the world to

A spokesman for Mick Jagger said the singer, who is in Australia as part of the Rolling Stones tour, was ´completely shocked and devastated´ following the news of her death. When asked if they were still in a relationship at the time of her death, he replied ‘of course’. The designer, 49, was found by her assistant, hanged on a doorknob

Boeing 777 hijackers plunged to 5,000ft

Claims today that the missing Malaysian Airlines jet dropped to an altitude of 5,000ft to avoid radar lends credibility to reports by villagers that they saw bright lights and loud noises at about the time the aircraft is thought to have made a ´U-turn´. Investigators told a Malaysian newspaper that the Boeing 777 had dropped to a lower altitude to avoid ground radar, using the surrounding terrain as a sonar barrier. This type of flying is considered to be dangerous and risky, because it places tremendous pressure on the frame of the aircraft--and flying low at night without radar assistance

A member of the cabin crew on board the missing Malaysia Airlines plane reportedly had a flight simulator at his home. The revelation comes after police confiscated a flight simulator from the home of Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah. [Snip] Captain Shah, a father-of-three, was passionate about his simulator, which he built using off-the-shelf parts. Zaharie had joined an online flight simulator community called X-Sim and after making his simulator, in November 2012 he posted a message about its ´awesome view´ inviting ´buddies´ to get in touch so they could take the simulator ´to the next level of simulation. The missing Malaysian airlines flight MH370 may have been deliberately flown under the radar to Taliban-controlled bases on the border of Afghanistan, it has emerged, as authorities said that the final message sent from the cockpit came after one of the jet´s communications systems had already been switched off. Eight days after the Boeing 777 vanished, The Independent has learnt that Malaysian authorities are seeking diplomatic permission to investigate a theory that the plane was flown to one of a number of Taliban strongholds on the Afghan border in North West Pakistan. It has also revived questions about why the Malaysian military did not immediately notice what was happening, and what gaps there might be more generally in military air defences in a region where the defence and security temperature is high at the moment. It has now emerged that Malaysian primary military radar tracked an unidentified contact that flew right across the country´s air space, now confirmed to be MH370. But no action, it seems, was taken. As the story of MH370 unfolds, becoming more mysterious by the day, I keep being reminded of a thriller I read four years ago. Bolt Action, a novel by Charlie Charters, is set on board exactly the same plane--not just a Boeing 777, but a 777-200ER. In addition, the plane belongs to the national carrier of a Muslim state, though in Bolt Action´s case it´s Pakistan not Malaysia. The thriller poses the question: What if a plane is hijacked but no one can regain control because the cockpit door is locked? Since 9/11 all passenger jets have bolt armatures fitted

One of our planes is missing. That’s basically all we know for certain right now, but more than a week after losing contact with flight MH370, there are a lot of other suggestive bits of information. Unfortunately, a lot of it is, as usual, being reported by news readers who barely understand that you don’t want to keep the pointy end aimed at the ground for an extended time. Here’s some things we do know now. The first indication of trouble was when the transponder stopped responding to radar. This is the point where newspeople are saying it “dropped off the radar,”
