George Zimmerman’s Lawyer
Probed in Trayvon Martin Case

ABC News, by Mark Mooney

Original Article

The Florida attorney who helped George Zimmerman beat a murder charge for the death of teenager Trayvon Martin is now being investigated for how he handled the case. “The Florida bar has one case pending at staff in regard to Atty. Mark O’Mara’s representation of George Zimmerman. All other information is confidential at this time, as is the case with all open investigations,” the bar said in a statement to ABC News. O’Mara severed ties with Zimmerman the day after Zimmerman’s wife called police in September to say that she was “very scared” after he has allegedly assaulted her father and threatened

You missed it because you don´t understand how you are supposed to think about things, #3. It was right there in the first sentence:

The first sentence alone is grounds for Zimmerman and O´Mara to go after ABC for slander.

"how he handled the case" - is beyond vague. A political hit and attempt to tarnish a reputation. And an obvious attempt to warn other lawyers not to represent politically incorrect clients.

from his website:

Mark M. O´Mara has been practicing Criminal and Family Law in Central Florida for 28 years, and is presently Board Certified as a Criminal Trial Specialist and a Marital and Family Law Specialist. Mark is a former felony prosecutor and Division Chief and has handled all types of criminal cases, including traffic, property crimes, DUI, drug cases and Death Penalty cases. He has extensive trial experience in both state and federal criminal defense. Mark also represents clients in contested divorce cases, involving child time sharing issues, alimony and division of assets. Mark is also involved in many Bar activities, including serving as President of the Seminole County Bar Association and serving on both Circuit and Federal Grievance Committees. He currently serves as the legal analyst for Central Florida´s WKMG Channel 6.

Meanwhile the scumball known as Jose Baez, who played fast and loose with the law when getting a real criminal off, is untouched. Baez is the defense lawyer who should be investigated.

I believe this has to do with money. He signed on voluntarily, saying he would defend George Zimmerman pro bono - without charge. He later billed Zimmerman for millions. The article does talk about that.

This investigation is about that, not his representation of Zimmerman.

There were other issues - he knew about the money that had begun to come in - he was handling the trust fund where it was being deposited. But he didn´t admit that to the court and let Shellie Zimmerman take the fall for perjury about their having money.

When there was a question about where GZ´s passport was, O´Mara already had it.

There were other oddities, irregularities, that I am sure we´ll hear about. Notice the first sentence refers to "how he handled the case".

O´Mara controlled the purse strings on Zimmerman´s defense fund. Here is an article I´d missed:

Shellie Zimmerman, Mark O´Mara settle lawsuit with bodyguards
CMR Associates had accused the Zimmermans and O´Mara of failing to pay for $27,000 worth of protection.

http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2013-12-02/news/os-george-zimmerman-bodyguards-settle-20131202_1_shellie-zimmerman-george-zimmerman-former-neighborhood-watch-volunteer

Because Zimmerman lost his job and was hurting for money - and O´Mara had voluntarily taken his case pro bono - the monies donated to the GZ fund were for his expenses, not attorney fees.

O´Mara doled out money from this fund to Zimmerman for his and Shellie´s living expenses.

One of the ways in which the media abrogates its duty to inform the public is in neglecting to report key facts that would change the conclusions an audience would make about a set of events. It’s even worse when that media source is supported by the taxpayer just to be be propagandized into a political agenda. Here’s the latest egregious example from NPR: In the broadcast, the reporter, who is also local to Macon, suggests Republicans trampled the rights of black voters in Macon, GA to suppress black voter turn out in recent local elections. Once again, bitter feelings are being cast in the direction of Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz. With the House passing the “clean” debt ceiling bill and sending it to the Democratic-controlled Senate, it was clear that this particular bill was going to be passed and sent to the president for his signature. But Cruz didn´t want to let Senate Republicans, including Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., off the hook and give President Obama a blank check to once again increase the debt ceiling as we are drowning in red ink. He didn't want Republicans to simply vote against the bill, hiding behind the Democrat majority who were sure to pass it.
