Newark — Dustin Friedland, 30, has been identified as the man shot Sunday night after shopping with his wife. Friedland, an attorney from Hoboken, and his wife were going to their vehicle in the parking deck at The Mall at Short Hills when two men confronted them, said Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Millburn Police Chief Gregory Weber in a joint statement. Murray says Friedland was shot in the head before the men took off in the couple’s silver 2012 Range Rover. She didn´t immediately know how many times the man had been shot. Friedland, a 2009

Comments:
The Short Hills mall is billed as a high-end venue. Young man shot in the head in the parking lot, in front of his wife, about a month after a disturbed young man strolled around another NJ mall, firing rounds at the ceiling before killing himself.

Fox News reported that they were accosted by two BLACK men who shot this man and then drove off in their SUV.

FTA:

Sunday´s encounter was the latest in a troubling pattern in Essex County, whose borders encompass crime-plagued Newark to the east as well as Short Hills and other affluent suburbs to the west. Carjackings have risen steeply in the past several years, leading local authorities to create a multi-agency task force three years ago after a spate of crimes that included brazen daytime attacks and the carjacking of a snowplow two days after a Christmas blizzard.

Nearly 300 carjackings were reported through July 31 of this year, according to the county prosecutor´s office.

Too bad they could release vital BOLO information until a day later.

Two black men. One drove away in a green Subaru and the other forced the wife out at gunpoint after shooting the husband and drove away to Newark.

Media just could bring themselves to identify the killers as black.

#1 & 7, it´s highly unlikely. Short hills mall is a high end mall about 10 miles west of Newark with easy access to highways. It´s a perfect venue for unsuspecting victims and easy get away.

This is just another random act of violence. He struggled with the perpetrators because his wife was already in the car.

Hopefully these perpetrators will be caught and appropriately punished but with the liberal pro-defense laws in NJ and an urban jury, I´m not holding my breath.

Sympathies to the family and his wife.

Did the carjackers not leave a fingerprint or two behind? Or a cigarette butt with DNA?

Somebody call the NSA. I will wager 50 cents that the carjackers used a cellphone just before the jacking and the NSA taped the conversation. Oh, wait! Sorry. The NSA only has information about conservatives; not law abiding carjackers.

Once a five-star hotel and luxury apartment block, the 45-storey so-called “Tower of David” skyscraper that looms over the Venezuelan capital of Caracas is now home to 3,000 people, and thought to be the world’s tallest slum. Intended to be a jewel in the crown of a shining new financial district, the incomplete building was abandoned in around 1994 when its developer died. With Chris Christie in deep trouble, Republican poobahs are reportedly looking to Jeb Bush to save their party in 2016. The former two-term governor of Florida speaks fluent Spanish, is a convert to Catholicism, and has high name recognition. Jeb could raise millions of dollars over night by just saying “yes” to running. Despite all this, there are strong reasons Republicans should say no to him. 1. His last name is poison. Let’s face it, if Jeb Bush had the last name of Something Else he would have already run for president in 2008 or 2012. According to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll registered voters were asked if they would definitely NOT vote for Jeb Bush and 50 percent said they would not.
