The art of stealing elections
Washington Times, by Editorial

Original Article

Stealing elections is an old game politicians play. Lyndon B. Johnson, the 36th president, got to the U.S. Senate in 1948 by “winning” the closest race in Texas history by a margin of 87 votes out of more than a million cast. An election judge in tiny Alice, Texas, said he counted more than 200 names on the voting roll for Box 13 that were written in alphabetic succession in the same hand, same color of ink. When a federal court subpoenaed Box 13, it was discovered to be “lost.” LBJ took his seat in the Senate. Voting machines were

My grandfather´s best friend was LBJ´s victim in that stolen race. Coke Steven´s legitimate victory would have changed the country´s history by derailing Johnson back then.

It is the Democrat´s way. They count and count, until they are ahead, then some lefty "judge" declare that it´s over. They win!!

The irony here is astounding, an election for ATTORNEY GENERAL will be decided by counting ballots (not votes) cast and secured in violation of the law.

Security on Healthcare.gov is a huge problem and should be on the minds and lips of the American public. It is the job of the American press to see to it that it is.

Scottyboy is to be congratulated for finding this story. But where did it turn up? In the Dallas Morning News! That’s hardly a major news outlet!

And who wrote the story? Pete Sessions (a US Congressman from Texas) and Darrell Issa (the chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform). These guys are now in the business of writing news articles about a subject that the television and major newspapers haven’t touched.

Our television networks have been given access to our country’s precious airwaves for a reason. They are supposed to alert the public to impending problems in time to take corrective actions. We need to impeach our press!

Most reasonable people could put up with almost any candidate or policy if they were confident that it was a result of the ´will of the electorate´.

But the intentional, willful degradation of the electoral process by those who consistently call for more government control of everything moves good people closer and closer to armed revolt......and it should.

That book was by J. Evetts Haley, #6. Even that long ago, the major media (alphabet stations and the New York Times) protected Johnson and dismissed Haley as a disgruntled fruitcake.

He was disgruntled, all right, but he was not a fruitcake.

Many law firms have failed over the years, but none as spectacularly as Dewey & LeBoeuf, the namesake “global super firm” of the former Republican Presidential nominee Thomas E. Dewey. As I noted in my account of the firm’s collapse in the magazine, an unknown number of partners took their complaints about the firm’s leadership to the Manhattan District Attorney, and last fall a grand jury began hearing evidence of potential fraud. On Thursday, Cyrus Vance, Jr., the Manhattan D.A., unveiled lengthy indictments charging Steven Davis, the firm’s former chairman; Stephen DiCarmine, its executive director; and Joel Sanders, its chief financial

The normal international soap opera has been interrupted by the unexpected drama of MH370 — the disappearance of a Malaysian airliner traveling from Malaysia to Beijing. It has all the elements of a blockbuster movie. Take an aircraft type that’s never had a major loss of life due to equipment failure — the Boeing 777 — add its disappearance from the secondary search radar system (used by air traffic controllers), stir in reports that the Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) was broadcasting nothing odd and then stopped, mix in two mysterious passengers using stolen passports, lace with a

Most people know SEAL Team 6 killed Osama bin Laden, but few know what happened afterwards, and why. On Aug. 6 2011, members of SEAL Team 6 engaged in another covert raid in Afghanistan. As they approached the drop zone, Taliban forces attacked using rocket propelled grenades. The CH-47 carrying the SEALS with the call-sign “Extortion 17? was was hit by one of the rockets tearing off ten and a half feet of one of its main rotor blades. Extortion 17 crashed, killing 30 Americans and eight Afghans. It is the single largest one day loss of life in the history

Interpol says no country checked its database for information about stolen passports that were used to board the Malaysia Airlines flight that disappeared with 239 people on board Saturday less than an hour after taking off from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, bound for Beijing. In a sharply worded criticism of shortcomings of national passport controls, the Lyon, France-based international police body said information about the thefts of an Austrian passport in 2012 and an Italian passport last year was entered into its database after they were stolen in Thailand. Interpol said in a statement it was investigating all other passports used to board

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia -- Two people who traveled on the missing Malaysia Airlines flight under the passports of an Italian and an Austrian citizen appear to have bought their tickets together. The tickets were bought from China Southern Airlines in Thai baht at identical prices, according to China´s official e-ticket verification system Travelsky. The ticket numbers are contiguous, which indicates the tickets were issued together. The new information adds to the mystery that has enveloped the fate of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, the passenger jet that disappeared over Southeast Asia early Saturday on its way to Beijing. “I told you so.” Those have to be four of the most satisfying words in the English language. And Mitt Romney has earned the right to speak that short sentence, over and over again, whenever he chooses. Not that he would — it would be “unbecoming,” to use one of Romney’s old-fashioned words that in 2002 had the mandarins of Political Correctness harrumphing about his “sexism,” I believe the charge was that time. But these days, Mitt looks more and more prescient, and his critics ever more deluded. First of all, Russia has become “our number one geopolitical foe,” as he put it

Mr. Obama, ensconced in an exclusive resort in Key Largo, spoke individually by phone with British Prime Minister David Cameron, French President Francois Hollande and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi. The leaders “reiterated their grave concern over Russia’s clear violation of international law and reaffirmed their support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the White House said.

Tulare, Calif. When Americans think of California, they tend to think of Silicon Valley, Hollywood and the golden coast—"a place where the grass is really greener, warm, wet and wild" as Santa Barbara native Katy Perry swoons in "California Gurls." Or they think of the liberals and environmentalists who dominate state government. Yet there´s another California, set back from the left coast, in the abundantly fertile Central Valley, which produces half of America´s fruits and vegetables; more than 98% of its almonds, pistachios and walnuts; a third of U.S. dairy exports—and Trader Joe´s Two Buck Chuck wine. Democrats designed the ObamaCare system to mainly fund itself. The low-income subsidies come directly from taxes levied in the so-called Affordable Care Act, as well as some other spending functions. However, it became clear early on that the Obama administration miscalculated the operational costs of ObamaCare when Kathleen Sebelius began pressuring insurers to contribute to Enroll America after the non-profit hired Obama administration figure Anne Filipic to assist HHS in preparing people for the sign-up launch in October. Republicans called this an attempt to get around the Constitution by creating new lines of funding for executive-branch operations, while they also

Via Matt Lewis, here’s Maverick once again demonstrating that “cordial relationship” in politico-speak means “two people who can’t publicly admit to hating each other but obviously do.” And it’s a cheap shot. Cruz’s point yesterday at CPAC was that Dole, McCain, and Romney lost because they weren’t conservative enough. That’s not because they’re gutless — he said specifically that they were “good” and “decent” men — but because they’re not committed, full-throated ideologues, even less so when they’re fighting for purple states in a national election. We can debate whether that’s true but there’s nothing offensive in raising the subject.

What’s been said of confession — that it is good for one’s soul but bad for one’s reputation — can also be true of testifying to Congress, so Lois Lerner has chosen to stay silent. Hers, however, is an eloquent silence. The most intrusive and potentially most punitive federal agency has been politicized; the IRS has become an appendage of Barack Obama’s party. Furthermore, congruent with exhortations from some congressional Democrats, it is intensifying its efforts to suffocate groups critical of progressives, by delaying what once was the swift, routine granting of tax-exempt status. So, the IRS, far from repenting

One of the most seismic changes in American politics over the last decade has been the emergence of a sharp generational split among the electorate. The Democratic Party owes its success in the last two presidential elections almost entirely to overwhelming support among the very young, which has overcome continued conservatism among older voters. The Pew Research Institute has dominated the field of exploring the ideological cleavages among different generations. And its latest survey shows again how the liberalism of the youngest voting cohort, millennials, remains firm, and likely to continue to recast the electorate. A few charts from the survey

But since definitions of an "in name only" marriage vary, such as "a marriage of convenience" or "a sexless marriage," and Maraniss failed to explain his claim, it is unclear what he was implying. Therefore, Obama´s oft-told nativity story must be searched for the full implications of Obama´s parents´ "in name only" marriage.
