NSA officials consider Edward
Snowden amnesty in return
for documents

Washington -National Security Agency officials are considering a controversial amnesty that would return Edward Snowden to the United States, in exchange for the extensive document trove the whistleblower took from the agency. An amnesty, which does not have the support of the State Department, would represent a surprising denouement to an international drama that has lasted half a year. It is particularly unexpected from a surveillance agency that has spent months insisting that Snowden’s disclosures have caused vast damage to US national security. The NSA official in charge of assessing the alleged damage caused by Snowden’s leaks, Richard Ledgett, told

Snowden has shown himself as a true and dangerous enemy, thus under the rules of Obama´s appeasement he is eligible for a free pass. Evan better from the Democrat´s point of view, the Russians surely have all his information already. So we get the traitor, and they get to damage us.

Meanwhile, Obama will continue to strike back heroically...against conservatives.

NSA is terrified of what else Snowden will release. He has them by the short hairs. It must be pretty terrible. So far, most of what he has released has been all about excessive US government extra constitutional behavior of our gvt. In my book, that makes snowden a hero, not a traitor. Look how much effort the gvt has gone through to convince us they are not doing that "listening in" and how much they promise to change all that and investigate it. What ever Snowden has, I want to know. The gvt is using the so-called phony war on terror to control us.

If they don´t know what documents the guy actually absconded with, how will they know if he really returned all of them or just a portion of them?

The guy has been in Russia now for months and you can bet that the Russians have gained access to everything that he had stored on his computers no matter if it was encrypted or not. They say that the guy has passed on copies of the documents that he took to foreign news entities who are slowly releasing them, so how is the guy going to get all that material back?

No doubt the Obama Administration and the far left would love to grant the guy amnesty, but once they do that they will be setting a precedent and essentially empowering others to also steal classified information from the US Government and pass it around the world, with those traitors believing that if they steal enough that they too will also qualify for an amnesty.

According to rumor,Snowden has only released 1% of what he has. This deal is going to happen,it´s just a matter of will Obama hold up his end of the bargain on the amnesty deal. Snowden better have a damn good lawyer to read the fine print.

Neither Obama or Hillary were the least bit concerned over Wikileaks or how a damn private in the military could get such high clearance. My guess is they were hoping to turn up some dirt on Bush and it never happened.

A crooked cop is beating you, stealing your stuff and having his way with your wife. A neighbor exposes his behavior, which extends far beyond just you and your family.
You call the neighbor a traitor. Yeah. That makes perfect sense.

If I were Snowden, once the information is safely back in US hands, there will be no more use for Edward Snowden. He will be dead in no time. He will accidently slip out of an open door of a helicopter. I hate when that happens.

Dear, naive bleeding hearts. He took everything he could get his hands on with the intent of damaging the government (read: our country). The fact that the first documents released were meant to damage the NSA does not make him a hero. He should spend the rest of his life in jail, or worse, Russia.

This whole Snowden affair has never passed the smell test, at least from the info we´ve been given. Here´s a guy, low key, pole-dancing girlfriend who just suddenly goes off and gets all moral and indignant about intelligence gathering? He lands in the Moscow airport waiting room for a few weeks--where no crew, other passengers, or journalists see him or snap a phone pic. Nobody---not a single other country---has the technical capabilities to grab the data on his laptops or mobile devices? He outsmarted intelligence professionals around the globe with this caper---nobody at the DOD, CIA, FBI, NSA, KGB, MI6, Mossad…NOBODY has been able to even find out WHAT data is missing, much less how he did it.
He´s definitely a sitting duck out there, that´s for sure. The question is why.
Ever heard of purposely violating a no fly zone to check your adversaries´ radar capabilities?

The current government is trying to enslave you and your descendants. They are putting into place laws and sub organizations to enforce militant rule. Their weapons are organizations like NSA, IRS, HHS, the so called Justice Department and the Executive Order. Sadly there are many more newly established bureaucracies that are intended to control, intimidate, and bury you in laws that take away your freedom of choice and religion.

A country that once was the shining light of humanity and stood for what was right in this world is now a laughingstock and our leaders now work and vote against the people who they are supposed to represent. Most DC politicians are now tyrants and little dictators who always insure they are taken care of and you pay for the consequences.

I believe that Snowden had the foresight and courage and resources to realize that this was a government that was not only spying on its own citizens, but involving itself in our everyday lives. and not in a positive way. I think he blew the governments socks off and put himself in harms way.

Sure our government will give him Amnesty, he has the goods on them and they know it. Just think, they are giving amnesty to every criminal that crosses our borders illegally and they don´t have anything to offer except they will vote Democrat. We as common citizens don´t have the leverage they do, so they dump on us.

I sure hope that if they do offer it he doesn´t take it. Once he is back here the deal will be off. The President will lie about this just like everything else. He was using the NSA for his own little dirt gathering information source just like Clinton did on his own dime with all his attorney and attack squads. At least Clinton used his money and not the money tax payers gave the government to spy and get dirt on his opponents

Forget the issues for a moment. They are confusing at best. Stop, and smell the roses. What CBS actually gave to its citizen viewers is proof positive that CBS program 60 MINUTES!, is, in fact, The High Ministry of
US Government Propaganda..... A monopoly service. They did not even use one of their own high ranking Pelley level priests. Their "reporter" disclosed himself as an "ex" NSA or CIA employee or agent. You can believe he´s still on government payroll or pension ! Because HE DID NOT also disclose to us the source of his income, who´s paying him to do this clever and tightly controlled bit of propagandizing for CBS viewers.
The pay off is that we "learned" that NSA is not prying into our private lives. Oh no. I think the guy said they´re only spying on about 65 suspicious people. All these billions? You saw the the complex of spy buildings and the endless parking lots! How many people spy there?
Surely, there many more unhappy Snowdens working. In this massive bureaucratic mess, waiting for their moment in the public eye.
In these troubled times, in a totally corrupted, cancerously, out of control, power dominating federal government, any kind of attention getting dissent and whistleblowing is a death defying act of heroism.

Before Mr Snowden makes any deal with the current Administration, he should note what has happened to the woman in Hawaii who released Obama´s live birth certificate.
Of 9 people in a small plane crash, only she died ( so they say ). In my opinion, Mr Snowden should stay as far away from the U.S.
as possible. At least in Russia the Government does not hide the fact that they are authoritarian.

In the complex world today, the government must collect intelligence information from a multitude of sources, mostly all foreign, to know what is going on. The government must also protect the methods that are used to collect that information.

Once the government classifies that information and their sources and methods either confidential, secret, or top secret they cannot allow people who have a problem with how intelligence information is collected to steal it and disseminate it across the world. If they were to do that, there would be no end to the amount of such classified information that would be stolen and passed out to America´s enemies.

Just thinking - playing devil´s advocate - in view of today´s news headline: Judge: NSA phone program likely unconstitutional (posted above), that if it is ruled unconstitutional, Snowden would not be guilty of anything illegal and he could return to the US and keep the documents and release them or not release them.

#1 and #3 ~ It´s pretty clear that much of the anti-NSA agitation among supposed Conservatives is coming from people who were obviously all along conscious agents of disinformation, and probably sponsored by the Russian KGB, or the Chicoms.

Some of them were simply under cover leftwingtards who had infiltrated Conservative websites and organizations ~ they saw their chance to take their hosts on a wide Leftwing Swing.

I think both kinds of pro-Commie agitators can be readily identified by a single item ~ they never agitate against the Russian, Chicom or German intelligence services ~ only against NSA.

These pukes would love to put NSA out of business.

We can get to the details of how to handle 4th amendment issues among ourselves without making a hero out of a traitor and a spy sitting in Moscow!

In the meantime, you are either WITH AMERICA or you are AGAINST AMERICA.

California’s unemployment rate is rotten and holding steady. In March, according to the Los Angeles Times, the rate was 8.1%. In February, it was exactly the same. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the state only added 11,800 net new jobs in March, many of them in construction, government, education, and health services. The greatest gains were in professional and business services, with 3,100 new positions. But the jobs numbers in hospitality, manufacturing, and leisure dipped, and the biggest drop came in financial activities, as the slowing rate of mortgages forced banks to fire employees. Democrats don’t vote in midterm elections. That’s an exaggeration, of course, but the core of the Democratic coalition is made up of many people who turn out to vote only in presidential elections. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

In a speech earlier this week, Lisa O. Monaco, President Barack Obama’s assistant for homeland security and counterterrorism, insisted that American parents must be vigilant because their “confrontational” children could be on the verge of becoming terrorists. Monaco’s full, prepared text is available here. She presented the speech, entitled “Countering Violent Extremism and the Power of Community,” at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government on April 15. Monaco began her remarks by eloquently describing the lives tragically lost last year during the Boston Marathon bombings. Interestingly, the Harvard grad failed to mention the religion or the motive of brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan

WASHINGTON--Rushing to an afternoon vote last month, Sen. Ted Cruz hopped the underground tram to the U.S. Capitol from his office across the street. The Texan planted his black ostrich cowboy boots in the middle of the small subway car without getting so much as a nod from the other senators--Republican or Democrat--amiably chatting or huddled in their seats. Mr. Cruz finds himself standing alone a lot these days. His response to the cold shoulders: "The establishment despised Ronald Reagan" before he became president, "but the people loved him." For the 43-year-old Republican, the Reagan name illuminates his political life´s

Prominent Washington correspondents are accusing President Obama and his aides of knowingly stretching the truth on issues like the so-called women´s pay gap just to create controversy and keep issues -- and the president -- relevant. Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus kicked off the attack last week when she blasted as “demagoguery” the administration´s tactics during the pay gap debate. “The level of hyperbole -- actually, of demagoguery -- that Democrats have engaged in here is revolting,” she wrote. CBS White House Correspondent Major Garrett then weighed in this week in his National Journal

The Clintons had a busy night of celebrations after Chelsea announced she and husband Marc Mezvinsky are expecting a baby. Bill joined “House of Cards” star Kevin Spacey at the Revlon Rainforest Fund Benefit Concert at Carnegie Hall Thursday, joking of Spacey’s Machiavellian character, “When I was president people accused me of murder all the time, made a show of investigating. Spacey’s president for 15 minutes and he gets away with murder.” Spacey, who sang during the event with Sting, Stephen Stills and James Taylor, also showed off his Johnny Carson impression, taking a swipe at the coverage of Flight

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Friday stood by his statement regarding embattled Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, saying on KSNV’s What’s Your Point?, “If anyone thinks by any figment of their imagination that what happened up there last week was just people rallying to somebody that was oppressed, 600 people came in armed. They had practiced. They had maneuvered.” Reid continued, “They knew what they were doing. They set up snipers in strategic locations with sniper rifles. They had assault weapons. They had automatic weapons. And they boasted about the fact that they put women and children, in fact one

If the Rev. John DeBonville could preach a sermon to lift the souls of churchgoers across America, his message would be simple: Stop dressing so tacky for church. DeBonville has heard about the “come as you are” approach to dressing down for Sunday service, but he says the Sabbath is getting too sloppy. When he scans the pews of churches, DeBonville sees rows of people dressed in their Sunday worst. They saunter into church in baggy shorts, flip-flop sandals, tennis shoes and grubby T-shirts. Some even slide into the pews carrying coffee in plastic foam containers as if they’re going to Starbucks. “It’s like
