ObamaCare´s Troubles

The White House is claiming that the Healthcare.gov website is mostly fixed, that the millions of Americans whose health plans were canceled thanks to government rules may be able to keep them for another year, and that in any event these people will get better plans through ObamaCare exchanges. Whatever the truth of these assertions, those who expect better days ahead for the Affordable Care Act are in for a rude awakening. The shocks—economic and political—will get much worse next year and beyond. Here´s why: The "sticker shock" that many buyers of new, ACA-compliant health plans have experienced—with premiums 30% higher,

The list of woes in this article are obvious and predictable.
Does anyone know of an example of when Gov´t imposed price control has NOT led to shortages and rationing?

Too bad there aren´t enough people willing to just say NO to this destructive piece of legislation. The House could defund it, but haven´t, the American people could ignore the web-site, but haven´t. What will it take to get the point across to a majority of the American people that the power is in the people, not Washington.

When Judge Roberts cast the pivotal vote on Zerocare, he opined that voting had consequences. I think he reasoned if voters were stupid enough to elect Obama the got what they deserved.

This is an excellent article and does as good a job as can be done in covering the current status, problems, and potential outcomes of the ObamaCare mess. But the subject is huge and should be the subject of a significant portion of our nation’s attention. In particular, television should be using the nation’s airwaves to inform and warn the people of the pitfalls and impending dangers. It hasn’t. And we live in a nation that is concerned and confused and ill informed.

This lack of coverage results from an attempt to minimize the political fallout from this mess. The article says correctly that fallout is coming anyway.

What in the world is wrong with Democrats? They have taken a meat ax to the finest health care in the world and a Texas-sized chainsaw to each and every American. Are they so drug-addled as to believe there will not be consequences to declaring war on the American way of life? Or, as is more likey, they don´t believe Republicans can or will make the case that we need to obliterate these subversives and traitors in the next few elections.

If you believe Obama is even mildly concerned about the ill effects of Obamacare on an American family´s finances, you are wildly mistaken. Obama cares nothing about the average American household. He is solely focused on pushing through a law that will forever redistribute the wealth in this country. He doesn´t care that he is hurting us. He will not be satisfied until there are two classes of Americans, the elites who are wealthy and well connected to the government and the rest of us who are dependent upon the government´s largesse. No one will be upwardly mobile. You will have no hope that you or your children can better themselves because all socialist systems like Obama´s utopia will not permit that. The government will own you lock, stock and barrel. You will be no more than an endentured servant but you will never be able to work your way out of servitude. There will be no hope. If Obama´s agenda is not stopped, you will live a very different life than your parents and grandparents. Yours will more closely resemble the life of a Russian in the 1960´s.

0-care is beginning to remind me of what Mark Twain said about the weather: Everyone talks about it...but nobody does anything about it. Now that Tammy Faye Boehner has sent the eunuchs home for a non-denominational, non-religious, no connection with Christmas loaf-break, we can expect nothing good to happen for the rest of the year. In other words, business as usual.

One might extrapolate and suggest that the troubles of progressive socialism are just beginning to become evident. Healthcare is just a battle front in a larger war between our constitutional republic and totalitarianism and Obama is but a tactical player. I´m trying to find a historical parallel where a thriving society turned willingly to a system known to correlate to astounding human suffering and dire economic conditions. Communism and socialism replaced dictatorial, fascist and otherwise devastated societies, as did its cousin fascism taking hold against the backdrop of ruinous war. One can hope that with the prosperity fresh on our consciousness we might right the ship.

When ObamaCare crashes - it takes the entire healthcare system with it.

Doctors and Hospitals unpaid or absorbing $5000 deductibles and co-pays will go out of business.

It will be like the Mortgage Bubble - only with dead people.

If you want to know where we are headed, watch the first Hunger Games movie. Minus (hopefully) the games. Having lived behind the Iron Curtain in Ceaucescu´s Romania, I got to see the realities of communism/socialism in all its glory. It was perfectly illustrated in the movie if you look at the Capital as the communist party and at the districts as the rest of the population. Obama=Snow.

Sadly this is not a blackmail scheme of pay or die. It´s simply a tax you to death pay and die. And it´s a offer you are not allowed to refuse. The punishment plan for not participating is just in it´s infancy. Can´t wait to see the treats in store for us in the form of wealth confiscation and lack of care coming to us all. 401k´s and personal savings can easily be taken to make it all ´fair´. Too bad what is taken will not be used to actually care for anyone . It will be dumped into the treasury to pay for what they´ve already put on the country´s ´charge´ account which is the trillions in unfunded debt. We are, in short, underwater and sinking like a stone. Mission accomplished obama. Where will he go once the party is over ?

Last night, I ordered two take-away salads at a Bob Evans restaurant (a chain of home cooked-style meals in the Midwest). Seven "essential" employees can stay full time. Everyone else has to start keeping their hours to 29 or fewer starting 1 January 2014. So employees -- real people -- are going to lose money over this Obamacare fiasco. These are REAL people with REAL lives. Obamacare is a misery -- an unnecessary one at that.

Obamacare has been well thought out as a vehicle to completely destroy America. Please connect the dots. The website was set up to do just what it is doing. The longer the stall the more time they have to set us up. Why are the insurance rates higher than people can afford to pay and have any money left over to live on? The government can collect the payment any way they see fit. They can take from our bank, garnish wages, put a lien on your house.Read the law. When we can no longer pay. What will happen? Will we be rounded up and put in prison camps?Has anyone seen unexplained activity that could be related to death camps being built?I am relly fearful of his IRS army and the navigators. What us does he have for 600,000,000 hollow point bullets? Why is he putting well known racists in positions of power. Why are muslims spending so much time at the white house?

Slightly off subject, but the one thing that is NOT being discussed by anyone anywhere is that simple fact that to lower healthcare costs, we need to have retort reform. It´s unbelievable how much money trial lawyers make by filing and winning malpractice suits. We need a system nationally like the one implemented in Texas. That alone would reduce costs by a huge amount by putting a stop to "defensive" medical practice.

Msm will report some things, but for the msm to go for the juggler as if Obie was a repub (I just choked on my Scotch), not so sure.

While Beijing insists its space program is for peaceful purposes, a Pentagon report last year highlighted China´s increasing space capabilities and said Beijing was pursuing a variety of activities aimed at preventing its adversaries from using space-based assets during a crisis. Fears of a space arms race with the United States and other powers mounted after China blew up one of

Washington -- With the White House asserting that Russia is stoking instability in eastern Ukraine, President Barack Obama is once again faced with the complicated reality of following through on his tough warnings against overseas provocations. Obama has vowed repeatedly to enact biting sanctions against Russia´s vital economic sectors if the Kremlin tries to replicate its actions in Crimea, the peninsula it annexed from Ukraine, elsewhere in the former Soviet republic. Despite those warnings, Russian President Vladimir Putin appears to be testing Obama´s limits, instigating protests in eastern Ukraine, the White House says, and massing tens of thousands of troops on

By the end of this year, it’s estimated that 300 physicians will commit suicide. While depression amongst physicians is not new—a few years back, it was named the second-most suicidal occupation—the level of sheer unhappiness amongst physicians is on the rise. Simply put, being a doctor has become a miserable and humiliating undertaking. Indeed, many doctors feel that America has declared war on physicians—and both physicians and patients are the losers. Not surprisingly, many doctors want out. Medical students opt for high-paying specialties so they can retire as quickly as possible. Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

LAS VEGAS — The Nevada Republican Party stripped opposition to abortion and gay marriage from its platform Saturday as state convention delegates instead focused on judging fellow Republicans on their worthiness to serve in office and adherence to GOP values. The platform, with few changes, was adopted overwhelmingly as the Las Vegas convention stretched late into the evening. The vote mirrors that of the Clark County GOP, which voted earlier to remove platform language defining marriage as between a man and a woman and statements opposing abortion.
