Downing Street has drawn up controversial plans to slash up to £5?billion a year from the welfare bill by limiting child benefit to families’ first two children. Under the proposal, revealed today, families would also lose their entitlement to child tax credit for any more than two children. The change would mean parents with three children, who would currently be entitled to child benefit because their annual income is less than £50,000, would lose out on £696 a year. On top of that, those earning less than £30,000 will also be denied child tax credits worth £2,725 a year – making them

That is something that the country needs to do. First one ok we pay for after that the mother better know the father and make sure he can before getting pregnant. Watch the single mother thing drop like a rock.

A boss doesn´t pay you more when you have another child, so capping welfare benefits is not a bad idea. The family can share it with as many children as they choose, as working folks do.

Interesting dilemma might present itself....

Would you, as a taxpayer, prefer to pay for some welfare queen´s abortions, or for the numerous spawn of irresponsible sperm donors?

Faulty premise: how about the parents pay for their own kids and not expect the gubbermint or anyone else to pay?
Failing that, capping it at 2 is a great start.

Once the mum cranks out the first kid the ice is broken and i doubt the additional benefits even cover the expenses of more kids.People pro-create all over the world with little or no money to pay for the kid (s).

If you really want to do something about welfare, you have to stop the first kid being born and I don´t mean abortion.

1 big thing that´s developed over the past 40 years is there´s no longer any shame in getting on welfare,in fact, just the opposite.

Maybe the worst part is the dead beat dad not suffering any consequence. They beat child support liens by simply not working, not that very many would get hired anyway.

My daughter works for the WIC program. Believe me, those clients (even those who don´t speak English) know how much money their check is supposed to be and they always complain that it isn´t enough. I am in total agreement at capping benefits. At least some of them would understand that their "base salary" wasn´t going to grow anymore.

RE #3:

Why should I as a taxpayer and a responsible adult pay ANYTHING for the irresponsible behavior of a welfare queen with round heels and weak morals and a serial sperm donor with a weak zipper and delusions of grandeur??? My mother told me straight out of the chute, "you can´t afford the accident, don´t make the mistake!".

Frankly, I´m flat out tired of my taxes going to pay for the lazy class to enjoy a better lifestyle then I will ever know, simply because they know how to game the system, can claim eternal victim status and have the entire liberal establishment kissing their gluteus maximums for their votes!!!

People on government assistance should be required to give up some of the their freedoms. They should not be permitted to live among the rest of society as though everything were perfectly normal. We need a federal welfare reservation where those who cannot function in society are relocated where everything is provided for them. It would be similar to being in the military and living on base, but without the responsibilities of doing anything. Of course, you can leave if you like, when you muster the will to stand on your own feet.

At a very minimum, those who live off the government should forfeit the right to vote.

When I was in my mid-teen years my father told me, "Don´t sleep with a girl unless you´re willing to marry her." And he was deadly serious about it. I didn´t doubt it then or now that had I fathered a child before marriage he would have made me marry the mother regardless of other factors. That was a far greater control on me than anything else including religion. And he wasn´t an isolated example. Back then, societal mores demanded that a father was responsible for their offspring.

#7 -- "... how about the parents pay for their own kids and not expect the gubbermint or anyone else to pay??

With respect, the gubbermint IS everyone else. It may print the paper and stamp the coins, but in terms of value the only money it has is what it takes from us, the taxpayers. That includes its indecent borrowing from other countries, which is nothing more than taking not only from today´s taxpayers, but from the next two or ten generations of us.

As for the "support" that doesn´t come in the form of a check from the U.S. Treasury, the recipients have no right to expect it -- and should bloody well display a bit of gratitude and responsibility when true charity is shown.

On this point, and in the spirit of the season, see David French´s recent article entitled "More on dependency: The difference between a hand-out and a leg up," in National Review Online:

the situation is a very real one.
Dear Wife and I have seen very close up the practice of popping out babies by anonymous sperm donors as a career. Sorry, not a nicer way to describe slut behavior. Or the utter death of shame as a guiding force in the culture. For example, I know a person who proudly proclaims 10 kids by 8 different women, Each of whom kicks back a bit to him. Each of whom gets subsidized Section 8housing, Medicaid, EBT cards, ADC, AFDC, free toys at Christmas, free lunches and breakfasts at schools, and on and on and on. Which the rest of us pay for. More kids, more goodies. And the kids repeat the process.
What rankles is that I also know several of these women, and sometimes the males, were in church this morning, shouting and ´testifyin´, and all the rest. And will be spending the afternoon and evening in behavior inconsistent with the morning behavior. Some of them are ordained. Try in Church of God in Christ, African Methodist Episcopal, African Methodist Episcopal - Zion, Missionary Baptist, and the like.
Isn´t it time to end this?

Vice President Joe Biden really did get ahead of President Barack Obama on accepting gay marriage in 2012 — and the White House really wasn’t happy about it, despite the two leaders’ many attempts to claim otherwise. That’s the story laid out in Jo Becker’s new book, “Forcing the Spring,” which documents the past few years of successful efforts to expand the legalization of gay marriage, according to an advance copy obtained by POLITICO. Speculation that Biden’s comments on “Meet the Press” in May 2012 were meant as a trial balloon, Becker writes, came from people “not privy to the

How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences.
