Tiny Vermont Gets $208 Million
to Build Disastrous Obamacare
Exchange; Where Are the Press Watchdogs?

Newsbusters, by Tom Blumer

In mid-November, Americans for Tax Reform compiled a list of federal spending on state Obamacare exchanges totaling a breathtaking $4.5 billion. One number on the list stands out from the rest — and it´s not California´s, though its $910 million amout is awful, disproportionate, and surely highly wasteful (before considering scalability concerns, the fixed costs of building a web site should be close to the same regardless of a state´s population). The big eye-catcher is tiny Vermont´s staggering $208 million. The nation´s second-least populous state (626,000 as of 2012) has 0.2 percent of the U.S. population, but has received 4.6

When you have two socialist senators why is anyone surprised that a socialist website for a socialist program would be given all the money it could possibly spend on what ends up in the trash?

Another CGI project, HUH?

Once you have the basic components of a system, you can sell it "off the shelf" since most of the development costs have been sunk.

Looks like CGI charged for the same development over and over again for each state that signed them on.

Brings new meaning to "A sucker is born every minute."

Vermont is receiving this payoff because they are already on board for Single Payer System.
CGI should return this money to the US Taxpayer.

This coincides with the article yesterday rating the best and worst states at signing ´folks´ up for Obamacare. Vermont was the winner by a mile with something like 90% . Having socialists for senators really does help.

Follow the $$; Back in 2010, Sebilius allocated +/- $3B to 3rd party entities to hold, until the new exchanges could be defined, then allocate the funds out.

Many previous Planned Parenthood locations were converted into minority Health Centers, therefore qualifying for tons o cash.

Clearly the WH fears someone might notice all that cash sitting out here & is furiously spending it.

As is the case with many liberal policies, it would have been cheaper just to give cash to the people directly.

Yet that would not have the same opportunity for graft or to develop the dependency required for the pro-government party.

Vermont is a socialist utopia so you know that the Obama crew is going to send as much money as possible there to keep it that way.

Someone should divide the 208 million by the number of people who actually signed up for Obama Care there. It probably would have paid their premiums.

They could have paid the medical bills of the uninsured and then some.

For a network whose news anchors had insisted that the so-called “deal” to rid Syria of chemical weapons, hammered out in Moscow and eagerly embraced by a short-sighted White House, was a great success, this is a pretty glaring admission. The fighting in Iraq between the government, assorted tribes, and Al Qaeda-linked militants has exploded again in recent days, culminating in the fall of the city of Fallujah to Islamic fighters. This development prompted the capable NBC News reporter Richard Engel to admit that the collapse of the Iraqi government in Anbar province has as much to do with the

Is Barack Obama entirely lacking in self-awareness, or does he simply think that his intended audience will believe anything he says? Maybe both. Otherwise it is hard to explain away the obvgious irony inherent in a president from Hawaii on a long winter vacation in Hawaii blasting his political opponents for going "home for the holidays." Dave Urbanski writes in The Blaze: While President Barack Obama continued what the New York Times called a "real and rare vacation in Hawaii," he used his Weekly Address to accuse Republicans in Congress of going home for the holidays while less-fortunate Americans suffer.
