Huckabee Shakes Up 2016 Field
National Review Online, by Henry Olsen

Original Article

Posted By:Desert Fox, 12/13/2013 5:17:26 PM

Mike Huckabee’s announcement that he’s considering entering the 2016 presidential fray has the potential to completely shake up the race. That’s because he would immediately leap to be among the front of the heap because of his national name ID and his deep support among Evangelical Republicans. The race is currently bereft of a clear Evangelical favorite; Huckabee would immediately fill that void. Since the rise of Evangelicals as a political force in the mid-1980s, Republican nominating races often see a “surprise” candidate bursting out from the pack with support from evangelicals. Reverend Pat Robertson broke ground in 1988 as that

And many remain resentful at Huckabee´s ugly smears of Mormonism, meaning hint, hint, hint, don´t be voting for that heathen, Mitt Romney. Huckabee is a nasty, hypocritical person and he may claim to be a man of God, but he´s yet to prove it to me.

Wow do we have some great GOP candidates for 2016 Christy from NJ, King from Long Island, Huntsman from Utah and Huckabee from Fox News! All GOP big government, big spending moderates who can reach across the aisle and work with the Democrats to run up the deficit! It just doesn´t get any better than that. Any one of them could beat Hillary without the support of the Tea Party - right?! I´m so excited I can hardly stand it./s

He´d be the early favorite in a number of states - Iowa, SC, GA, MO, AR. He could pull in enough delegates to be a force at the convention. He polls very strongly among Republican women for some reason.

While the Left runs and ´wins´ with it´s most EXTREME idealogs we on the right are constantly counseled to only run squishy moderates.

Hello !

We are the ones who don´t need to hide our true ambitions. Extremism in the defense of liberty is not only ´no vice´ but it is an excellent winning strategy and that´s why we are constantly told we must not try it.

I dont know a lot about him, but I´ve seen his show a few times and he makes me very uncomfortable. He seems somehow "wrong" in the same way that Beck does, and Romney did. Its like he has put on this altar boy mask, but just beneath the surface is something much less pleasant just waiting for the unguarded moment to pounce.
But its still early.

Fish are losing their survival instinct as the world´s oceans become more acidic because of climate change, researchers have claimed. The study confirms laboratory experiments showing that the behavior of reef fishes can be seriously affected by increased carbon dioxide concentrations in the ocean. Carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere is absorbed into ocean waters, where it dissolves and lowers the pH of the water. The new study is the first to analyze the sensory impairment of fish from CO2 seeps, where pH is similar to what climate models forecast for surface waters by the turn of the century. ´These results verify our laboratory

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as

WASHINGTON - Americans increasingly think Democrats have a better plan for healthcare than Republicans, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted after the White House announced that more people than expected had signed up for the "Obamacare" health plan. Nearly one-third of respondents in the online survey released on Tuesday said they prefer Democrats´ plan, policy or approach to healthcare, compared to just 18 percent for Republicans. This marks both an uptick in support for Democrats and a slide for Republicans since a similar poll in February. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius stepped down last week after overseeing the law´s

Big Government: The Congressional Budget Office warns of a terrifying, unprecedented level of national debt in the coming decade. That fits nicely with Democrats´ objectives, but not with our nation´s founding principles. Andrew Jackson, who in 1835 succeeded in paying off the national debt, was famous for considering debt slavery. The current fiscal path the U.S. is on does indeed lead to slavery, but the slave masters of the future will be well-heeled politicians and federal bureaucrats, not plantation owners. The CBO´s new budget projections contain an eerie warning that we are on path from today´s already unfathomable $17.7 trillion in gross

Failure: ObamaCare fans are cheering the latest Congressional Budget Office report, which appears to show that it will cost less and cover more people than expected. But that´s true only if you ignore reality. We don´t always agree with the CBO, but we have long respected it as a credible source of budget numbers. Sure, its projections almost never turn out to be true. But simply too many variables are at play for anyone to guess such things perfectly, and it provides a more or less independent source of information on highly charged, partisan issues. It was about the state´s senior senator again enriching himself and his family at public expense. Sunlight is said to be the best disinfectant, and the end, at least temporarily, to the Bureau of Land Management´s armed standoff with Cliven Bundy may be due in part to the exposure given to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid´s role in the attempt to confiscate Bundy´s cattle and shut down his ranch. With House Republicans unlikely to act on an overhaul, executive action by Obama is increasingly the activists´ only hope. "There is tremendous anger among core constituencies of the president

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)
