Santa Claus Should Not
Be a White Man Anymore

Slate, by Aisha Harris

Original Article

When I was a kid, I knew two different Santa Clauses. The first had a fat belly, rosy cheeks, a long white beard, and skin as pink as bubble gum. He was omnipresent, visiting my pre-school and the local mall, visible in all of my favorite Christmas specials. Then there was the Santa in my family’s household, in the form of ornaments, cards, and holiday figurines. A near-carbon copy of the first one—big belly, rosy cheeks, long white beard: check, check, check. But his skin was as dark as mine. Seeing two different Santas was bewildering. Eventually I asked my father what

Comments:
Her father explained that Santa morphed as he went from house to house, becoming the color of the occupants. Now what about a biracial home?

Does everyone have to look like everyone to make these people feel comfortable? What´s wrong with Santa being white? No wonder the kids are messed up.

Of course, it´s part of white European culture. It must be trashed, destroyed and obliterated - in the name of ´cultural diversity´ of course.

The headline gives me headaches. Black Pete was his apprentice. People can have their own Santa´s, but Santa/St. Nick. If you want to tell your kids that some stranger gives them gifts instead of hardworking parents, that is your decision.

Miss, or Mrs. Harris is a product of the system where everything must be politically correct and to feel somebody´s pain or joy you must look like them. Too bad she doesn´t seem to realize that the cherubic-faced, Germanic looking Santa she sees in her sugar plum fantasies is a symbol probably taken from The Night Before Christmas poem, not the result of some racist conspiracy.
We, personally, skipped the whole Santa thing with our kids and taught them every good gift comes from the Father of Light, Jesus Christ, who is really the only One who knows who is naughty or nice; and, when asked for forgiveness and in belief of Him always blesses, never just passes by or leaves "a lump of coal".
See, young lady, Christmas isn´t about Santa, it´s about a colorblind Savior.

The whole idea of Santa Claus came out of Europe, so it just sorta naturally followed that he’d be white.

But if you don’t like a white Santa, get a black Santa. No one’s gonna stop you.

But neither is anyone gonna let YOU, Miss Liberal, dictate what OUR Santa is gonna look like.

I saw a black Santa the other day. It was fine. I didn´t care. No one did. It was no big deal. It´s not really worth the effort Aisha Harris spent to write her whiney editorial. If you want a black Santa just do it - no ones stopping you. Pretty much no one cares.

Embedded in her article was a prejudice against white men. She´s just another racist. Another Uncle Tom following the instructions of her handlers.

I´m sorry Aisha was caused bewilderment and shame by images of a white Santa. Does that work in reverse by the way with a black Santa? Maybe Aisha can start her own holiday along the lines of Kwanza cald Penguinza or something. Afterall, Kwanza´s was invented in the 60´s. Surely with our first black president the time ripe.

Blacks make up 12-15% of our population, gays 2-4%, yet they both are bent on telling all the rest of us "how it should be" in America. I, for one, am really tired of it. This is reverse racism and should be called out as such. Does she really think children under 8 care what ethnicity Santa is? Another poster had it right...Get a life girl!

The real Saint Nicholas lived in what is now Turkey. He took part in the Council of Nicea and according to legend punched the heretic Arius in the nose.

He was known to be a charitable man and his reputation for gift giving is what led to him becoming the figure of Santa Claus. He was a European - and Miss Harris should just get over it already.

Miss Aisha needs a little lesson here.
Santa Claus is derived from St. Nicholas, who was white.
Miss Aisha, as a member of 12% of the total American population does not get to dictate to the majority who are just fine with Santa Claus as portrayed through centuries of Christmases.
5 years of Barack Obama will NOT make us accept black dictators and bullies who run around telling us what our history is according to THEM. Happy Kwanzaa, Aisha.

Baacklash from whites seen more and more. I guess they have moved over to give others room to the maximum they are willing to go to accommodate--it just gets sillier and sillier.

I wouldn´t care who ruled our evolved civilization and free culture if they had superior qualities to improve such along the lines of taking the high road. (A look at ACORN? Really, folks? We ain´t buying or budging)

Reading a Book about 7 Tipping points in Western civilization. Only 5% of the people in the world have lived free. Who pushed the freedom? Of course the Author of All Things was behind the evolution of world civilization but it used the white race and those who joined their forward movement.

America stands tall in the freeing of men´s minds so they can choose...

Let´s just put Santa in a ´hoodie´ and call him Trayvon Claus and cover all bases.
Children could sit on his lap while he drops the F-bomb and N-word on the hapless youths.
Brown dirt can replace ´white snow´ and Christmas songs are all done by rappers.
If the left and blacks want to kill a holiday then go all the way. Trayvon Claus can arrive in an ´85 Oldsmobile Cutlass instead of a sleigh. No more elves just gang members in do-rags flashing gang signs. Christmas trees are replaced with Bongs and crack pipes.
I can see it all now. Aisha will be happy.

The author claims she was "traumatized" because Santa was the "wrong" color. That is HER problem, and there is a name for it.

Kids benefit from learning the good guys come in all colors. Santa is looking for good behavior from everybody, and nobody´s color enters into it.

Leave it to a liberal to criticize Santa, a generous elderly white guy, for the "harm" she "suffered" as a child. How does something like this, serious or not, get past the editors?

How about "There should be no rules about how artists and advertisers and even the great unwashed masses depict or visualize Santa Claus".

Donald Duck is always white and Mickey Mouse is black. There should have been rules and laws so that didn´t happen.

So have at it, liberals. You want Santa Claus? He´s yours. We Christians have the greatest gift of all and it didn´t come from Santa´s pouch full of toys.

Do you know who gives a child their identity???

THEIR BIOLOGICAL MOTHER AND FATHER

Now maybe if some of these Daddies and some of these Mama´s actually applied themselves as REAL mothers and fathers, theyd not have to worry about what identity their child is going to take on. But as long as the Daddy is out catting around with whatever pair of legs he can wrap around himself and the Mommy is finding some new cat to convince to stay long enough to satisfy HER urges, that poor child of whatever union is going to be left wondering where he fits into it all.

Im tired of these animals acting like external forces are the things responsible for their own individual identities. They need to decide: are they cattle to be herded or individuals who stand up for their own?

OK, can we please stop pretending biofuel made from corn is helping the planet and the environment? With huge subsidies for ethanol in gasoline, with all States now selling gasoline having some ethanol blend, and a general misconception that these biofuels are green, corn ethanol has taken on a $30 billion/yr life of its own. The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released two of its Working Group reports at the end of last month (WGI and WGIII), and their short discussion of biofuels has ignited a fierce debate as to whether they’re of any environmental benefit at all.

Senior administration officials said there is no indication that the HealthCare.gov site has been compromised and the action is being taken out of an abundance of caution. The government´s Heartbleed review is ongoing, the officials said, and users of other websites may also be told to change their passwords in the coming days, including those with accounts on the popular

JACKSON, Wyo. – A slow-motion disaster continued unfolding in the Wyoming resort town of Jackson on Saturday, as a creeping landslide that split a hillside home threatened to swallow up more houses and businesses. The ground beneath the 100-foot hillside had been slowly giving way for almost two weeks before the downward movement accelerated in recent days. With rocks and dirt tumbling down, officials suspended efforts to shore up the slope and said they were uncertain what else could be done. "When is it going to go? How long is it going to last? These are the questions we just

AUSTIN — Documents related to Sen. Wendy Davis’ work as a lawyer for the North Texas Tollway Authority are part of an FBI inquiry of the agency, Travis County officials say. It’s not clear whether Davis’ work for the tollway authority is a focus of the FBI or only part of the material collected in connection with its look into tollway agency operations. The Travis County district attorney’s office said last month that details from its review of a 2012 complaint that a rival filed about Davis’ legal and political activities were “the subject of an open investigation” by the

Jindo, South Korea -- A passenger describes women screaming in the darkness. A father learns his child is trapped. A son, fearing death, tells his mother he loves her. Investigators haven´t said what caused a South Korean ferry boat carrying hundreds of passengers to capsize on Wednesday. But as rescuers searched frigid waters for nearly 300 missing people, text messages purporting to be from missing passengers surfaced, describing the harrowing moments after the ferry started to roll.(Snip) On Thursday, the semi-official Yonhap News Agency reported that police now believe the messages supposedly sent after the ferry sank were fake.

The Obama administration is poised to entertain a flood of new clemency applications from thousands of federal prisoners who were given harsh sentences under mandatory-minimum laws following drug convictions, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday. Holder said in a short videotaped statement that he wants to shrink the federal prison population by a modest amount while ensuring ´that those who have paid their debts have a chance to become productive citizens.´ At the center of the move is a set of old sentencing rules that punished crack-cocaine offenders with more time behind bars than users or traffickers of powder cocaine.

Former Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kan.) said a number of junior GOP senators considering a presidential run in 2016 do not yet have the experience — specifically naming Rand Paul (Ky.), Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Ted Cruz (Texas). The former 1996 GOP presidential candidate sounded particularly skeptical of Cruz in an interview this week with The Wichita Eagle. "A number of the younger members, first-termers like Rand Paul, Rubio and that extreme-right-wing guy, Ted Cruz — all running for president now. I don´t think they´ve got enough experience yet," Dole said. The 90-year-old former senator said, however, his main concern about 2016 is living

If Jeb reaches for the nomination, there will be a titanic battle between the party establishment and the Tea Party. Steve Schmidt, McCain’s strategist in 2008, insists that in the end Republicans usually settle on the most electable candidate. To get by, this Bush may be forced to trim his positions, although the cautionary tale of Romney suggests that he would have to tack artfully and carefully for the sake of the general election. Certainly he will have the resources to outlast, discredit, and disqualify his rivals.

Washington - Michelle Obama said "splurging is the key to life" if you regularly eat right and stay active. Her biggest guilty pleasure: French fries. "How would you appreciate vegetables if you never had chocolate?" she asked. "You couldn´t live without a little chocolate, a little French fries." The first lady took questions from children reporters Monday after appearing at the White House Easter Egg Roll. She told the children that if they eat right the majority of the time, then a splurge or snack is not going to hurt them. "I still splurge when I can, but that's why I try to exercise almost every day," she said.

There’s a pattern of falsifying statistics throughout the entire Census Bureau. And anyone who attempts to blow the whistle on the fraud is either retaliated against or ignored, according to two new sources who have experienced the process firsthand. As I’ve been writing for more than six months, the Census Bureau office in Philadelphia uncovered a case of fraud in 2010, did nothing about it and allowed the practice to continue. In that instance, a data collector named Julius Buckmon was faking reports that went into the nation’s all-important jobless tally and consumer-inflation survey. Because the Census Bureau’s surveys are scientific — meaning

New audio reveals an Eastern Connecticut State University professor warning that Republicans will “want things to go back — not to to 1955, but to 1855? if they win control of Congress in November. Republican victories could also put him out of a job, he cautioned. “We will live in a very, very, very different kind of country if that happens,” Professor Brent Terry told students in his Introduction to Creative Writing course, according to audio obtained by Campus Reform. “I mean, colleges will start closing up if these people have their way.” Over the course of his rant, Terry characterized conservatives

Moreover, all around him are astonishing opportunities for him to be an historic figure -- one who could and should be the man who did more than any other single person in turning back the red tide of Obama. It’s all there for Speaker of the House, and yet John Boehner manages to miss

Global sea levels have risen by 8 inches (20cm) since 1880 and scientists predict they could rise up to 3ft (98cm) by 2100. But despite the UN’s recent threats of war, famine and extreme weather, such a dramatically different world caused by sea level rise can be hard to imagine. To help picture the future, Martin Vargic, an amateur graphic designer from Slovakia, has created a map depicting the planet with sea levels around 260ft (79m) higher than they are today. He imagines what Earth would look like if the ice sheets surrounding the North and South poles melted, releasing

It may not be tomorrow, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) says "something will happen" to force a Nevada rancher to obey a court order to stop grazing his cattle on federal land and pay his grazing fees. "It´s obvious that you can´t just walk away from this," Reid said in an April 18 interview with a Nevada´s KSNV-TV News 3 program “What’s Your Point?” "You can´t have a law that is -- we´re a nation of laws, not of men and women," he said. Harry Reid isn’t backing down from his claim that rancher Cliven Bundy’s supporters are “domestic terrorists.” It’s astonishing rhetoric given the White House’s characterization of the mass shooting by a genuine terrorist, Major Nidal Hasan, who killed 13 Americans at the Fort Hood Army base after yelling “Allahu Akbar!” (God is great.) Rather than labeling Hasan’s actions “domestic terrorism,” the Obama administration is prosecuting him for having committed “workplace violence.” Democratic rhetoric is become ever more desperate and overheated as we approach the November midterm elections. Last week, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said that GOP positions on immigration were motivated by

The lawmakers have signed onto a legal brief in support of a lawsuit filed by Sen.
