Detroit´s Water Drains
Away From Ravaged Pipes

Associated Press, by Corey Williams

DETROIT -- Torrents of water spew from broken pipes in Detroit´s Crosman School, cascading down stairs before pooling on the warped tile of what was once a basketball court. No one knows how long the water has flowed through the moldy bowels of the massive building a few miles north of downtown, but Crosman has been closed since 2007. It´s not the only empty structure where city water steadily fills dark basements or runs into the gutter, wasting money and creating safety hazards. As Detroit goes through the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history, the city´s porous water system illustrates how some

The Water Dept. union probably wanted overtime pay for workers who would go and turn off the water valve outside the building. Every building has one that I know of. That´s what they shut off when you don´t pay your bill!

Roanoke has a better chance of returning as a civilization than does Blacktown. Theft of pipes and meters is typical. Some folks would much rather steal than work.

You would think there´s major shut off valve but I guess not. These deserted buildings need to be demolished and supposedly the money Obama gave Detroit was supposed to remove urban blight. A run of B-52´s would be more effective and cheaper.Obama´s money went to prop up pension funds, period.

All you have to do is look at Detroit to see what our entire nation will look like after 8 years of Øvomit followed by 8 years of President Hillary.

With Øvomit stacking the courts with lie-beral activist judges, they will simply bypass Congress and do whatever they want through judicial activism to finish destroying this nation.

And Ontario is stupid enough to take it. More indebted per capita than California, with green idiot policies further bankrupting it as industry flees, the province is now existing on federal government handouts. And, the illiterati there keeps on voting in the Lieberal Party, Ontario´s wanabe Democrats.

They should rename the province "Mikey" because like that old TV ad, Mikey will eat anything.

Here’s another reason why government should never own a business. In February 2010, the Obama Administration’s Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood told America, without a shred of evidence, that Toyota automobiles were dangerous to drive. LaHood offered the remarks in front of the House Appropriations subcommittee that was investigating reports of unintended-acceleration crashes. “My advice is, if anybody owns one of these vehicles, stop driving it,” he said, sending the company’s stock into a nosedive. Even at the time, LaHood’s comments were reckless at best. Assailing the competition reeks of political opportunism and cronyism. It also illustrates one of the unavoidable

“I’d rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president,” Barack Obama said, well before his 2012 re-election. Most historians do not seem to believe that a really good president can be a one-termer. Two-thirds of presidents have not been re-elected (generally due to death or defeat), but in most academic rankings James Polk is the lone single-termer to crack the Top 10. Polk may be a stumper in a game of “Jeopardy!,” but he did double the size of the United States in four short years, and only ill health forced him to step aside after one

WASHINGTON — Immigration activists have sharply criticized President Obama for a rising volume of deportations, labeling him the "deporter in chief" and staging large protests that have harmed his standing with some Latinos, a key group of voters for Democrats. But the portrait of a steadily increasing number of deportations rests on statistics that conceal almost as much as they disclose. A closer examination shows that immigrants living illegally in most of the continental U.S. are less likely to be deported today than before Obama came to office, according to immigration data. Expulsions of people who are settled and working in the

Republicans are now favored to control both chambers of Congress after the 2014 election. And thanks to favorable maps in both the House and the Senate, they could hold both for plenty of years to come. While much has been written in recent weeks about the GOP´s improving chances to win the Senate in 2014 -- and, to a lesser extent, the Democrats´ chances of winning it back in 2016 -- a look at the Senate map as a whole tells us this: Regardless of what happens in the next few years, Republicans have a distinct advantage in the battle

They’re practically the first words out of one’s mouth the second a Washington reporter hears about a new health reform proposal: "How many people does your plan cover?" The basic premise of the America Next health plan I’m endorsing today is simple: “I believe the problem is not that folks are trying to avoid getting health care. The problem is they can’t afford it.” In short, I agree with Barack Obama. Of course, Barack Obama circa January 2008—when he uttered those words in opposition to a health insurance mandate -- represents a far cry from the Barack Obama who signed ObamaCare into

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. government masterminded the creation of a "Cuban Twitter" - a communications network designed to undermine the communist government in Cuba, built with secret shell companies and financed through foreign banks, The Associated Press has learned. The project, which lasted more than two years and drew tens of thousands of subscribers, sought to evade Cuba´s stranglehold on the Internet with a primitive social media platform. First, the network would build a Cuban audience, mostly young people; then, the plan was to push them toward dissent. Yet its users were neither aware it was created by a U.S. agency with

President Barack Obama is in a funk. Americans are coming to see the president as ineffectual. That is a dangerous perception. Obama’s job approval rating is at risk of dropping below 40 percent. Democrats may lose their majority in the Senate this fall. It may be difficult for the president to accomplish anything during his last two years. In the March NBC News-Wall Street Journal poll, 42 of registered voters say they would be less likely to vote for a candidate endorsed by Obama. Only 22 percent say they would be more likely to vote for Obama’s candidate. Why is this happening? Republicans

Barack Obama’s legacy legislation, the Affordable Healthcare Act (ACA) – commonly known as “Obamacare” – has clearly become the political equivalent of the wreck of the Hesperus. Before getting to the speech itself, it’s worth noting a few things. When the Democrats passed and Barack Obama signed Obamacare, the majority opposed it. About 56%, in fact. A majority have consistently opposed that law ever since. The former two-term governor of Florida speaks fluent Spanish, is a convert to Catholicism, and has high name recognition. Jeb could raise millions of dollars over night by just saying “yes” to running. Despite all this, there are strong reasons Republicans should say no to him. 1. His last name is poison. Let’s face it, if Jeb Bush had the last name of Something Else he would have already run for president in 2008 or 2012. According to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll registered voters were asked if they would definitely NOT vote for Jeb Bush and 50 percent said they would not.
