Lululemon founder Chip Wilson
resigns in body size row

BBC News, by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:earlybird, 12/10/2013 7:43:51 PM

Chip Wilson, the billionaire founder of yoga clothing retailer Lululemon, has resigned as chairman over controversial statements about body size. Mr Wilson told Bloomberg TV in November that complaints over "see-through pants" were due to overweight women. Some women´s bodies "just don´t actually work´´ for Lululemon trousers, he said. In March, Lululemon had to withdraw one of its yoga trousers from shops after complaints about the sheer fabric. The company blamed the problems on style changes and production issues, but the complaints continued.

Comments:
Lululemon lost a ton of money over the release of these too see-through exercise pants.

It should be noted that the amply derrered and thighed Moochelle is a devotee of Lululemon - or at least she shills for them when she shows up publicaly in their exercise clothing. She has never been shy about her body parts showing through, however...

It makes you wonder how this guy ever got a company off the ground. Besides this debacle with the pants - which seriously hurt their stock prices because they had to recall so much of their merchandise - the guy wants Canada to change its child labor laws so he can employ 12-year-old kids in sweatshops, and he put three Ls in the company name so he could mock his Japanese marketing firm when they tried to say the name.

First of all,I don´t get the idea of paying a lot of money for an outfit to sit around and stretch in,so the subtext of this story to me the world´s craziness for designer this and name brand that.

But I mean if you´re going to take a plunge into something like a see through yoga outfit, you should at least test market it on a small scale to see if it flies. The only women I can see buying this idea are exhibitionists

I don´t see what the big deal is on the comment that the idea doesn´t work for some women,,now fat gals have developed their own victim groups, waiting to be offended..

IN A major development in the search for MH370, Angus Houston has confirmed the Ocean Shield has detected signals consistent with aircraft black boxes, describing the lead as the most promising yet. Air Chief Marshal Houston called the development significant, saying “this is the most promising lead, probably in the search so far, it’s probably the best information we’ve had”. The search coordinator told reporters more signals have been detected by a towed pinger locator deployed by the Australian vessel Ocean Shield. “Today, I can report some very encouraging information which has unfolded over the last 24 hours,” he told

THE missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 may have flown around Indonesian airspace on the night it disappeared, in what may have been a deliberate attempt to avoid radar detection. CNN reported a senior Malaysian government source saying that the missing jet made the detour after it had left the range of Malaysian military radar. The latest details emerged as new satellite calculations put the likely location of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 in the same spot where Chinese patrol vessel Haixun 01 detected sounds coming from about 4,500m underwater on two consecutive days.

The pic appeared spontaneous at the moment, but it was revealed a day later that the act, taken with Ortiz’s Samsung Galaxy Note 3 phone, was actually a public relations stunt orchestrated by the Korean telecom conglomerate. “Maybe this will be the end of all

An eye-catching A.P. story, published Thursday, revealed that, in 2010, the United States Agency for International Development (U.S.A.I.D.) covertly deployed a social-media program in Cuba in the hope of bringing about a Cuban Spring. The network, called ZunZuneo, was offered to Cubans via the country’s mobile-phone network as a free text service, and attracted forty thousand subscribers before mysteriously ending operations in 2012. The contractors who ran the program are said to have concealed its U.S.-government origins via an offshore system of front companies and foreign servers, and to have collected data on subscribers’ “political tendencies” and “receptiveness,” among other

But since the report condemns a program I ran, I think I have justification. On Thursday, the Senate Intelligence Committee voted to declassify and release hundreds of pages of its report on U.S. terrorist interrogation practices. Certain senators have proclaimed how devastating the findings are, saying the CIA’s program was unproductive, badly managed and misleadingly sold. Unlike

EVERETT, Wash. — As medical examiners painstakingly piece together the identities and lives of the people killed when a mudslide wiped out a small Washington community, a mystery troubles them. One of the 30 bodies found does not fit with descriptions on the missing persons list, which, as of Thursday included 15 people, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff´s Office. The only clue to the man´s identity is his gold molars, said Heather Oie, operations manager at the Snohomish County Medical Examiner´s Office. He might have been someone who was on the highway or going for a hike.

Democrats are facing a senior problem that could get even worse this year. The party has traditionally had trouble with older voters, losing the group aged 65 and over by 21 points in 2010 — when Republicans picked up 63 seats — and by 12 points in the 2012 presidential race. Seniors are the GOP’s most reliable voting bloc in midterm years, turning out in higher numbers than Democratic base voters. We learned that President Obama is most comfortable in campaign mode, and his campaigning has gotten downright ugly. His Rose Garden speech was a typical self-congratulatory moment for supposedly hitting 7.1 million Obamacare sign-ups — although we know that once again, the White House is ignoring some inconvenient truths.
