Harry Reid Urges Republicans to
Fix a Law They Opposed All Along

Cybercast News Service, by Susan Jones

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 12/10/2013 11:55:08 AM

Not a single Republican voted for the Affordable Care Act, but they must now help Democrats make the law work, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said on the Senate floor Monday. Although the rollout of the Obamacare website was "rocky," many of the major problems have been fixed, he said. "There are still problems with the Affordable Care Act and ways we can make it better. But we can´t improve the law without help from reasonable Republicans. It´s time for my Republican colleagues to give up their fantasy of repealing a law that´s already benefiting tens of millions of Americans and start

Comments:
Beware of the traps laid by the devious, odious Harry Reid and the Democrats. They just want Republicans to "fix" it so their names will be on that abomination also. Stay away from it!!

The Republicans should vote for one thing- REPEAL - or otherwise lets the Democrats sink in their own morass. there is NO WAY any Republican should take a single step to help Reid, who is the scum of the Earth, or any other Democrat who voted for the bill.

It is amazing what foolishness can come out of the mouth of harry. I don´t know why lightening doesn´t strike or why harry doesn´t turn into a pillar of salt whenever he opens his mouth. Considering his staff is not participating in obamacare I don´t know what the problem is. It´s a dem law, they had been praying for this day for a hundred years, it´s just perfect for the great unwashed. Remember it is not about health it is about power, control and money.

Just who are these 10s of millions? The only people who would seem to benefit are those who are now eligible for Medicaid which really has nothing to do with Obamacare (just happens to be article 6943 of the bill). Everybody else gets insurance at higher cost and higher deductibles. Oh, yes, they have more things covered AFTER they pay the $5000-$10000 deductibles. Such a deal!

Republicans should not be as the Democrats, and give any support at all to a law that they opposed. Every vote cast against the Thirteenth, Fourteenth, and Fifteenth Amendments was cast by a Democrat. Every vote cast against the Civil Rights Acts of the Reconstruction Era was cast by a Democrat. Every vote cast in the U.S. Senate for thirty years to prevent anti-lynch laws was cast by a Democrat.

In his opening statement during highly anticipated testimony Wednesday on Benghazi, former CIA deputy director Michael Morell claimed to be an intelligence professional who was willing to lay out the facts -- no matter how damaging. "I take very seriously the allegations about how the CIA in general and about how I in particular handled the analysis and the talking points," Morell told the House Intelligence Committee, in his first public testimony on the Benghazi attacks. "The ethical code under which intelligence officers carry out their responsibilities calls for total objectivity." But Morell´s own testimony would appear to undercut that

Immigration reform advocates are fond of citing broad support for their cause. But in fact the coalition behind the Senate Gang of Eight comprehensive reform bill is fragile and loosely cobbled together. How could Big Labor and the Chamber of Commerce and the tech world and Big Agriculture all unite behind one bill? Very tentatively. It wouldn´t take much to break the coalition apart. And if that happens, the effort to enact comprehensive immigration reform could blow up, not just for the moment, but for some time to come. And there are signs that is exactly what is occurring now. Facing withering pressure to stick with the president and block any GOP effort to change Obamacare, 18 Democrats crossed the aisle to join Republicans Thursday in replacing the 30-hour work week with the traditional 40 hours, a major boost to small businesses. Voting 248-179, the House passed Indiana Republican Rep. Todd Young’s “Save American Workers Act,” which repealed Obamacare’s 30-hour definition of full-time employment. Going into the vote, Young had nine Democrats supporting the legislation and in the end 18 joined to define a work week as 40 hours.
