Judge Orders Colo. Cake-Maker

Associated Press, by Ivan Moreno

Denver - A baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex ceremony must serve gay couples despite his religious beliefs or face fines, a judge said Friday. The order from administrative law judge Robert N. Spencer said Masterpiece Cakeshop in suburban Denver discriminated against a couple "because of their sexual orientation by refusing to sell them a wedding cake for their same-sex marriage." The order says the cake-maker must "cease and desist from discriminating" against gay couples. Although the judge did not impose fines in this case, the business will face penalties if it continues to turn away gay

And what of Mr. Phillips´ rights? His rights of freedom of his religion? His right to freely associate?

They´re gone. And so are yours. This ruling is so incredibly wrong.

Make these cakes so bad no one will recommend them for other gay weddings. Problem solved.

So he sacrifices his craft as well, #1? That´s not the point at all, though I see where you´re coming from.
This ruling is unbelievably bad. I´ve heard that Phillips will likely appeal, but the expense of doing so will likely bankrupt him.

So much for freedom in this country. My disgust at the plaintiffs in these suits is immeasurable.

They destroy people to prove a point. There are many bakeries who would be grateful for the business.

Just as gays expanded the definition of marriage to same-sex marriage maybe the baker can expand the definition of cake to same-sex cake (with extra fruit, perhaps).

Just trying to find some middle-ground here.

What I despise about the gay "rights" movement is that they´re not content with a "live and let live" approach. They demand that you approve of and celebrate their lifestyles, no matter how perverted.

America´s idiot judges have wrongly construed the meaning of "right." There is no "right" to have the wedding cake of your choice, much less a "right" to force someone else do what you want.

Such judges need to be thrown off the bench.

If businesses can post a sign that says no shoes, no shirt, no service it appears that the discretion to serve or not serve has been the decision of the business owners for many years.
Bartenders can refuse to serve anyone they choose at their discretion.
Bakers have the same rights. Can this judge be recalled or impeached?

This is not how to win your argument, this is the way to cause resentment. Stupid in my humble opinion. The bakery is individuals and has every right to sell to whomever they please. They need only to say they cant handle the order. They are just being punished for being honest.

The locals need to deal with that admin law judge who has overstepped the bounds of their authority. Allowing the concept that a judge is unconstrained by whatever decision their whim may cause them to make is how you come to this fork in the road. I´d suggest the locals pull this ones horns in significantly.

Henceforth, all small businesses operated by people with a sense of morality should chat up their customers to find out exactly what kind of celebration they are planning, then check a computer calendar and state, "Oh, drat, I already have a booking (or two) for that date, I´m sorry, but my workload will not permit my adding your event."

And then, later, if the same "customer" finds out you booked someone else after refusing them, say "I had a cancellation, but I thought you would have found another vendor by time time my previous party cancelled."

Why didn´t his lawyer counter sue immediately after the lawsuit was filed for violation of his First Amendment rights? In today´s world it appears certain segments of society are more equal than others. Unfortunately, the evil, malicious individuals on the left live for these scenarios and have teams of lawyers (most likely paid for by individuals like Soros) ready to file these lawsuits. I wouldn´t be surprised if some of them are staged to create these situations. That small percentage of society is wreaking havoc on our society. There needs to be a major uprising to stop this insanity.

If judges are going to make rulings like this, then lie to the people who want to order the Same sex cake. Tell them that you aren´t making wedding cakes anymore. Then suggest another cake maker you know who does make them. Then spread the rumor that the baker you sent them to makes weird wedding cakes for gay people. That ought to set things right.

Russia and Ukraine struck a deal Thursday to end unrest in eastern Ukraine stoked by pro-Russian militants, Secretary of State John Kerry said. In other words, the fish are losing their minds, The Daily Mail reported. The acid from atmospheric carbon dioxide seeps into sea waters, dissolves and ultimately lowers the pH balance, researchers said. The acidic waters then hamper the fishes’ sensory systems, so they’re not able to distinguish between smells any longer, the scientists went on. When the acid levels get really high, the fish lose their
