Insane Asylum Seekers
FrontPage, by Bruce Bawer

We hear relatively often these days about the large and growing Muslim communities in major European cities. Less frequently a subject of media attention in the U.S., however, is an equally significant phenomenon: the asylum centers that dot the landscape in many countries. In Norway alone, with a total population of only five million, there are a hundred or so such establishments around the country, some of them in largish cities, some in rural hamlets. In these centers reside individuals of foreign origin, mostly from the Muslim world, who are awaiting decisions about their applications for asylum. The places aren’t

That´s asylum seekers who are insane, not people seeking an insane asylum. The author lives in Norway and is a sharp observer of the Muslim invasion there.

Some liberal will read this and next on the agenda will be asylum centers in the US. Oh, that´s right, we give them an EBT card.

For the record, most muslims are insane and belong in an asylum in their own country. By inter-marrying for the last 1400 years, Islam has created a billion or more society dependents.

National Rifle Association chief Wayne LaPierre told the Conservative Political Action Conference today that he sees a changing America with eroding freedoms in which people will need to assert the right “to protect our families with all the rifles, handguns and shotguns we want.” LaPierre noted that this time last year pundits were “calling me about every nasty name in the book” for putting forth a plan for armed responders in schools in the wake of the Sandy Hook school shooting. The NRA leader didn’t specifically address the gun-control legislative efforts that have since fizzled in Congress, but said “freedom has never

This may be a lousy way to start one’s day, but I want to say something about Harry Reid. If he were a conservative Republican, and not a liberal Democrat, he would be almost universally known as a McCarthyite. He would certainly not be a Senate leader. (Snip) In 2012, Reid said the following on the Senate floor, about Mitt Romney: “So the word’s out that he hasn’t paid any taxes for ten years. Let him prove that he has paid taxes, because he hasn’t.” The word’s out — and you know about “the word.” To reporters from his home state

Philadelphia Daily News reporters Wendy Ruderman and Barbara Laker have written two powerful series of articles on abuse, corruption, and intimidation within the city, state, and federal government. These stories read like something out of a political thriller. The first series, “Tainted Justice,” earned them a Pulitzer Prize and was turned into a newly-published book, Busted: A Tale of Corruption and Betrayal in the City of Brotherly Love. It explores police corruption within the Philadelphia narcotics department. The second ongoing series, “Perfect Prey,” chronicles fraud within the Social Security system involving payee representatives. American Thinker had the privilege of interviewing

It´s official name is the "Fairness for All Marylanders Act of 2014," but some are calling it the "Bathroom Bill." The legislation, which passed the State Senate on Tuesday, would ban discrimination based on gender identity when it comes to public accommodations such as restaurants, hotels and retail shops. But Washington County Delegate Neil Parrott (R) says it would allow anyone to use any public restroom, regardless of sex. He says if a man feels like a woman one day, he would use the ladies room, and vice-versa. "Basically, it´s gender confusion, and it enables people to go into different bathrooms

A leading US senator has said that President Obama knew of an “unprecedented action” taken by the CIA against the Senate intelligence committee, which has apparently prompted an inspector general’s inquiry at Langley. The subtle reference in a Tuesday letter from Senator Mark Udall to Obama, seeking to enlist the president’s help in declassifying a 6,300-page inquiry by the committee into torture carried out by CIA interrogators after 9/11, threatens to plunge the White House into a battle between the agency and its Senate overseers. McClatchy and the New York Times reported Wednesday that the CIA had secretly monitored computers used by

No surprise that the intel guys, like their political bosses, reassured themselves that Russia wouldn’t invade. Even though they made the same mistake just a few years ago when the morsel was Georgia. Indeed, that kind of error, revolving around the phrase “rational actor,” is the trademark of Western confusion about the world. They refuse to see that our enemies are waging war against us, thus refuse to think about winning that war, thus lose many battles, and happily retreat. At Chipotle, guacamole costs extra - but it soon may not be available at all thanks to climate change. The Denver, Colorado-based chain of Mexican fast-food restaurants threatened to take the condiment off the menu because of the rising price of avocados. While the avocado crop is currently fine, scientists at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory are predicting drier temperatures will lead to a 40 per cent drop in California´s avocado crop over the next 32 years. Most modern scientists agree that there is a direct correlation between the increase of droughts and global warming, according to Think Progress.

Where Lois Lerner goes, drama follows. On Wednesday, the former IRS officer again invoked the Fifth before the House Oversight Committee. That precipitated a heated exchange between the committee’s Republican chairman, Darrell Issa, and Democratic ranking member Elijah Cummings, who called the hearings “un-American.” And that spat has become the story. No doubt that is exactly what Cummings had in mind. WASHINGTON — Charles G. and David H. Koch, the billionaire brothers who are perhaps the best-known patrons of conservative Republican politics, are bespectacled and in their 70s. But Democrats are embarking on a broad effort that aims to unmask the press-shy siblings and portray them, instead, as a pair of villains bent on wrecking progressive politics.
