Pope Francis is the Catholic
Church’s Obama – God help us

Fox News, by Adam Shaw

Original Article

Posted By:Maryland_Patriot, 12/5/2013 4:14:06 PM

Pope Francis is undergoing a popularity surge comparable to the way Barack Obama was greeted by the world in 2008. And just as President Obama has been a disappointment for America, Pope Francis will prove a disaster for the Catholic Church. My fellow Catholics should be suspicious when bastions of anti-Catholicism in the left-wing media are in love with him. Much is being made of his ‘compassion’ and ‘humility,’ but kissing babies and hugging the sick is nothing new. Every pope in recent memory has done the same, yet only now are the media paying attention. Benedict XVI and John Paul II

While I don´t entirely agree with the author´s statement that Pope Francis will prove a disaster for the Roman Catholic Church, I do think many of his statements undermine the strong moral messages that have been the foundation of that church´s teachings, and which were the main point of agreement between Catholics and Evangelicals.

As long as their mission remains to take your money and give it to someone else in the name of social justice, they are going to have a lot of problems in countries like the USA.

I have some very serious concerns as a Catholic about this Pope.

Initially, I liked his humility. However, the longer he is leading the church, the more damage he is doing. I can´t help but wonder what God´s plan is to fix what is going on in the world today.

May we have divine intervention soon.

The Catholic Church doesn´t take anyone´s money. It is freely given to them by hundreds of millions of Catholics world wide.

It is also the largest charitable organization on the planet.

I believe that he has to put "humble" aside to the degree that he must accept his traditional role as Pope. That means sacrificing and accepting the trappings and responsiblities that come with being the Pope and Vicar of Christ.
Living in the Papal Apartments, and acting as Head of the Church for all catholics is the job description.. Being a poor missionary is best left to other priests the world over. He has received a higher calling and must now fulfill the obligations of Pope.

I just read an article entitled If You´re Looking for me, You´ll Find me Standing with the Pope.

Rebecca Hamilton writes (in part) ..

Politicians envy the moral voice of the Pope because, alone of all the great religious voices of our day, his is the one they cannot control. Left or right, it doesn’t matter; they all hate and fear the Pope.

That is because he is not one of their toady religious leaders that they have co-opted for their own purposes of gaining and keeping power. The Pope is not answerable to politicians, including American politicians, American politics or America’s self-deified tin gods of the media.

Not a Catholic here, but I never perceived Pope Benedict as anything but humble. That he respected the formal traditions of the church did not detract from that.

Time will tell if (and how deeply) Francis is enamored of leftist thinking. I pray that sharing the gospel of salvation through the blood of Christ is his primary aim.

Atlanta – Vegetarians may have a lower BMI and drink alcohol sparingly, but vegetarian diets are tied to generally poorer health, poorer quality of life and a higher need for health care than their meat-eating counterparts. A new study from the Medical University of Graz in Austria finds that vegetarians are more physically active, drink less alcohol and smoke less tobacco than those who consume meat in their diets. Vegetarians also have a higher socioeconomic status and a lower body mass index. But the vegetarian diet — characterized by a low consumption of saturated fats and cholesterol that includes increased intake

Frustration with the search for missing flight MH370 boiled over into chaotic scenes as Chinese relatives were dragged away from journalists. They were attempting to speak to Chinese journalists outside the daily press conference in Kuala Lumpur. A BBC reporter was pushed away from the relatives, who were carrying banners criticising the handling of the case. Teams from 26 countries are trying to find flight MH370, which went missing on 8 March with 239 people on board. One of the relatives, a middle-aged woman, cried: "They give different messages every day! Where´s the flight now? Find our relatives! Find the aircraft!" The Malaysian government said

Those killings, however, are only a fragment of the total harm caused by the misuse of firearms. Each year, more than 30,000 people die in the United States in firearm-related incidents. Many of those deaths involve handguns. The adoption of rules that will lessen the number of those incidents should be a matter of primary concern to both federal and state legislators. It only feels like it´s speeding up. Constrained by crises over which he has little power to impact events, hemmed in by a divided Congress more interested in scoring points with voters than in legislating, and watching as his potential successor assumes more and more of the political spotlight, Obama may be receding into history more quickly than either he or his aides ever anticipated.
