We Bet You Haven´t Heard
This About Obamacare

Another push is underway to raise the minimum wage. But what you probably haven’t heard is that Obamacare has already done that. The plan on the table in Congress would raise the federal minimum wage above $10 an hour (which is higher than all existing state rates). Obamacare’s mandate on employers, however, is already scheduled to raise the hourly cost of hiring a full-time worker past $10 an hour. The idea behind a minimum wage is to help low-income workers. But Obamacare’s mandates will hurt the job prospects of these very workers—and raising the federal minimum wage would further limit the

Now that they´ve (Dems) passed it we´re finding out more of what´s in it. No wonder they didn´t want anyone to read it first.

More hidden legislation attributable to Chief Justice John Roberts. Just wondering, John, is this what you had in mind or are you just dumb?

Raising the minimum wage $1 costs the employer $160 per month, per employee. Where does that money come from? What extra value is built into the product or service the employer provides? Of course, everybody who was making more than the minimum wage before the raise will also have to get a raise to stay ahead of the lowest-paid employees. There was a news item that the fast food workers wanted a $7 an hour increase. That´s more than $1,000 per month per employee. Hello $25 Happy Meals!

Thinking back to the Supreme Court hearing, I recall one of the Justices stating that they couldn´t be expected to READ this law.
Too bad the clerks didn´t. I believe their decision was based on flawed information, lack of information, and ignorance of what the law actually said.
One day it was a penalty, the next day it was a tax.
360 MILLION people are affected by their decision. (Thanks John Roberts) and 4 slimy liberals. If John Roberts loved America, and comprehended what his job really is, he would reverse himself.
He has mortally wounded millions of Americans (mostly the elderly) who will be denied healthcare and be allowed to die because it is more cost effective.

It´s time that employers were required by law to pay their employees their entire wage. There should be no withholdings from a paycheck. All social security, workman´s comp, federal taxes, Obamacare fees and whatever need to be payed by the employee.

We can do this as part of immigration reform.

Most businesses live on very thin margins of profit, 2% to 5%. Some live on much less and barely break even. This is especially true of small business who usually have min-wage employees- at entry level, mostly. But, having owned buseiness and lost some in my life- I can tell you honestly and accurately, a major increase in employee´s salarys means disaster. It takes time for price hikes to cover such things. Magins are razor thin and it means, most usually, taking a severe financial hit for the owner, often for quite a while, as the readjustment period is often quite variable. Some buinesses, seeing tax hikes and mandated wage hikes can not survive. The intitial response is to see where imediate cuts can be made- this is most often in laying off an percent of the labor force to balance the costs and then gradually rehire staff as profits allow over time. It means everyone works harder to keep their business open. The ones I failed at (most due to government harassment, over regulation and taxes) were quite tragic. My employees suddenly left out in the cold, unemployed, no insurance, no imediate prospects. It´s awful!

Fizzle: New Q-Poll Shows Continued
Double-Digit Opposition to Obamacare
Townhall, by Guy Benson    Original Article

Earlier in the week, Twitter was ablaze with a debate over Obamacare and public opinion: Was the Washington Post/ABC News poll purporting to show the law´s approval slightly above water an outlier, or the beginning of a trend? I argued the former, citing a fresh CBS News survey that aligned with previous negative polling. The latest Quinnipiac poll should settle the debate. It pegs President Obama´s approval rating underwater at 42/50, with Obamacare clocking in at 41/55. A few additional findings: (1) Voters split roughly evenly on the generic Congressional ballot, with independents leaning toward the GOP by seven points.

Obamacare will cost large companies between $4,800 and $5,900 more per employee and add hundreds of millions to their overhead, according to a new survey. The American Health Policy Institute conducted a confidential survey of 100 large employers—those with 10,000 or more employees—asking what costs they expect to incur from Obamacare over the next decade. Factoring in the health care law’s added mandates, fees, and regulatory burdens, employers anticipate cost hikes between $163 million and $200 million in 2016, a 4.3 percent increase. By 2023, employers will be paying 8.4 percent more than “what they would otherwise be spending” for

What started out as an innocent CNBC Power Lunch segment to promote a book rapidly devolved into a heated, ugly, ad hominem brawl about high-frequency trading and the future of the stock market — and was apparently so intense, traders at the New York Stock Exchange stopped working in order to watch the melee. It all began when IEX’s Brad Katsuyama, the head of a Wall Street trading platform and a broker heavily featured in Michael Lewis’s new book Flash Boys, accused BATS Global Markets president Bill O’Brien of using underhanded tactics to screw over ordinary investors. “I believe the

Democratic lawmakers and campaign finance reform advocates quickly bashed Wednesday’s Supreme Court decision to strike down total limits on individual campaign contributions, warning of future corruption in elections. Meanwhile, Republicans largely cheered the ruling from the narrowly divided court, which found it unconstitutional to impose caps on the aggregate amounts that one person can donate to campaigns, parties and political action committees. Calling himself “all for freedom,” Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) on Wednesday commended the ruling, saying “donors ought to have the freedom to give what they want to give."

Yesterday President Obama claimed that “more than 3 million young adults… have gained insurance under this law by staying on their family’s plan.” Indeed, the number of young people who can now stay on their parents’ insurance plans until age 26 — the so-called “slacker mandate” — is one of the most oft-repeated Obamacare statistics. The Los Angeles Times used it in a recent article to claim that because of Obamacare “at least 9.5 million previously uninsured people have gained coverage.” That included not only the 3.1 million young adults who are covered by their parents’ plans but also about 2

Twenty years ago it was the U.S. Postal Service that was the iconic example of what’s wrong with the federal government. The Post Office was big, bloated, and known for sketchy service. Making matters worse, the Post Office often appeared to be fighting off bankruptcy. Federal Express turned criticism of the Post Office into a major advertising campaign for its overnight delivery service. Today, the representative example of bad government is the Transportation Security Administration. TSA has a labor force of 65,000 employees. It has cost the American taxpayer about $75 billion. This includes more than $60 billion spent through 2012

The earthquake was so powerful, shaking was felt 300 miles away from its center in Bolivia’s capital, CBS News’ Vicente Arenas reports. The extent of damage from Tuesday night’s quake couldn’t be fully assessed before daybreak, President Michelle Bachelet said, but she wasn’t taking any chances. Some Republican fat cats are trying to coax former Florida governor Jeb Bush — brother and son to two former presidents — into making a bid for the White House. Democrats have been less subtle. They’ve created a super PAC called Ready for Hillary, which is only slightly less obvious a gesture than constructing a giant neon sign reading “Run, Hillary, Run.” For obvious reasons, these developments have generated a lot of discussion about political dynasties in America. That’s understandable. After all, in a democratic republic, the prospect of dynasties should make everyone at least a little uncomfortable.

Before getting to the speech itself, it’s worth noting a few things. When the Democrats passed and Barack Obama signed Obamacare, the majority opposed it. About 56%, in fact. A majority have consistently opposed that law ever since. The Obama administration touted 7 million sign-ups by March 31 as “success.” When that goal appeared to be unreachable, the administration suggested that maybe 5 or 6 million would be enough. Now, as if by magic, they have their number. Somehow. All along, the administration has touted false numbers of enrollees. All along, the administration has neglected to admit that Obamacare is

A few months back, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius stated for the record that 7 million Obamacare sign-ups by the end of March would constitute success. She was clear about it. A triumphant President Barack Obama declared his signature medical insurance overhaul a success, saying it has made America´s health care system ´a lot better.´ But buried in the 7.1 million enrollments he announced in a heavily staged Rose Garden appearance is a more unsettling reality. A RAND study pours buckets of cold water on the Obama administration’s claims that it has nearly reached 7 million sign-ups for Obamacare. The whole point of Obamacare, supposedly, was to insure the uninsured and bend the cost curve down. Those who had insurance were supposed to be able to keep it. Families were supposed to start saving about $2500 a year. If you believed the Obama administration. Reality, according to RAND‘s study, is that the Obama administration’s 7 million figure is deceptive. Supposing 7 million have actually signed up and paid their first premium — which is not a given,

The former two-term governor of Florida speaks fluent Spanish, is a convert to Catholicism, and has high name recognition. Jeb could raise millions of dollars over night by just saying “yes” to running. Despite all this, there are strong reasons Republicans should say no to him. 1. His last name is poison. Let’s face it, if Jeb Bush had the last name of Something Else he would have already run for president in 2008 or 2012. According to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll registered voters were asked if they would definitely NOT vote for Jeb Bush and 50 percent said they would not.
