HuffPo Doubles Down on a Hoax
National Review Online, by David French

Original Article

The proper thing to do after inadvertently publishing a hoax is to apologize. These things happen, after all. Publishers are not omniscient and mistakes can be made. Apologize, seek forgiveness, and then take steps to prevent future mistakes. It’s simple, really. But — apparently — not simple enough for the Huffington Post. As I pointed out yesterday, HuffPo published an essay entitled “Why I Make Terrible Decisions, or, Poverty Thoughts” — an essay that purports to describe one woman’s experience with poverty. The essay went viral, and the response was so overwhelming that the author set up a gofundme page and raised

You can always tell a HuffPo reader, as They know nothing about what is going on in the White House, but they will blame the GOP for everything and I mean everything.

They are really good at painting a picture of Victimhood.

The Huffpost is not "still falling for a hoax". They have the overwhelming evidence of the fraud and chose to ignore it. Like their hero Emperor Zippy, they subscribe to the theory that "If you tell a lie often enough and loudly enough, it becomes the perceived truth". Goebels said that, not Zippy. But Zippy and now apparently the Huffington Post totally agree.

President Obama gets a lot of undeserved criticism from conservatives. He’s a well-intentioned guy who is doing the best he can, and I think it’s time I came clean about something that I’ve been hiding for a long time: I love the president. Here’s a love letter that best reflects how I feel. Barack, I love that you always follow through with your promises. Like closing Guantanamo Bay, ending extraordinary rendition, terminating the “war on terror,” not using drones to kill innocent women and children, and not unconstitutionally carrying out wars on foreign nations like Libya. Even your “kill list” is

Chelsea Clinton´s mother-in-law, former Rep. Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky (D-PA), is under fire for reportedly enriching herself from her taxpayer-funded charity–years after she left Congress. Margolies, who is attempting to regain her PA-13 seat and is the frontrunner in the May 20 Democratic primary, established the nonprofit Women´s Campaign International (WCI) "in 1998 with the goal of helping women get elected to office in foreign countries" and paid herself a "$1,000-a-week salary to start." That changed, though, when the charity secured a $600,000 grant from the Clinton Administration´s U.S. Agency for International Development, according to reports, and she was facing a myriad of personal

California is going through a terrible drought and 2013 was the driest on record in the state. So who is suffering, financially and otherwise, from its effects? Hint: it is not the coastal elite. The water still flows to the upscale neighborhoods of La Jolla, Malibu, and Marin County. Their lawns are watered, their BMW’s washed and polished, their swimming pools full. No, it’s the farmers in the Central Valley and the agricultural workers who are idled as 500,000 acres of the best farmland on the planet lies fallow. Where is their water going? To save the environment. It’s better, according to

Internet users beware. We are about to surrender our freedom of speech — and, quite possibly, put our national and economic security at risk. Last month, in a move that most people outside the Beltway barely noticed, President Obama announced plans to relinquish U.S. control over the administration of the Internet to a community of “global multi-stakeholders.” Translation? Obama is putting the infrastructure of the Internet up for grabs. And, inevitably, those who do not share America’s core values and respect for freedom will be the first ones to reach for it. Since 1998, the U.S. Department of Commerce has maintained authority over the

The Iranian companies that own a Midtown office tower worth more than $500 million must forfeit the building to people who successfully sued Iran for damages over terrorist attacks, including 9/11, a judge has ruled. In a written opinion Friday, Manhattan Federal Judge Katherine Forrest said the companies must hand over the building because they acted as fronts for the Iranian government and therefore “are” the government of Iran under certain federal laws. In a separate but related decision in September, Forrest said the feds have the right to seize the building, 650 Fifth Ave., partly due to money laundering

It´s Opening Day in baseball stadiums across America. (Well, sort of.) That not only means the official return of our country´s national pastime, but also the return of our country´s second national pastime: gorging on extreme foods. And this year features some true gastronomic wonders. Or horrors, depending on your perspective. Each year in order drum up new customers for those long rain delays, stadiums try to outdo one another when it comes to concessions, which leads to some serious eating innovations. Unfortunately, many them involve the limits of human endurance (and stomachs.) Last year´s champion was Rangers Stadium (also known

Drinking Earl Grey tea could help guard against heart disease, it has emerged, after a study found that bergamot extract--a key ingredient in the hot drink--is just as effective as statins at controlling cholesterol. Scientists believe bergamot, a fragrant Mediterranean citrus fruit which gives Earl Grey tea its distinctive flavour, can significantly lower cholesterol. They say it contains enzymes known as HMGF (hydroxy methyl glutaryl flavonones) which can attack proteins in the body known to cause heart disease. The study found bergamot could even be as effective as statins, used to control cholesterol but which can have side effects in

A RAND study pours buckets of cold water on the Obama administration’s claims that it has nearly reached 7 million sign-ups for Obamacare. The whole point of Obamacare, supposedly, was to insure the uninsured and bend the cost curve down. Those who had insurance were supposed to be able to keep it. Families were supposed to start saving about $2500 a year. If you believed the Obama administration. Reality, according to RAND‘s study, is that the Obama administration’s 7 million figure is deceptive.
