Obama Cites Pope, Says America is Worst
Place in the World for Income Inequality

RUSH: In Washington, President Obama is out talking to his left-wing extremist buddies at the Center for American Progress, a town hall on the education arts recreation campus. He´s talking about the economy and income inequality. OBAMA: Starting in the late seventies, this social compact began to unravel. Technology made it easier for companies to do more with less, eliminating certain job occupations. A more competitive world let companies shift jobs anywhere -- and as good manufacturing jobs automated or headed offshore, workers lost of their leverage. Jobs paid less, and offered fewer benefits. As a trickle-down ideology became more prominent,

Only a delusional fool would complain about the inequality in the U.S. If it is so bad why do people from all over the world line up to come here? I´m sorry America that this is what has become of a great nation. I only hope there is enough red blooded Americans left to clean up the mess.

Dear Mr. President and Mr. Pope:

Please read Mathew 25 and the Parable of the Talents wherein the Kingdom of Heaven is like a master going on a journey and leaves his possession to his servants.

It is good to prosper. Those who don´t have their´s taken away and given to those who do.

So spake the Lord.

Obama has heard part of the story but not all of it. With increased mechanization, automation, computerization, robotics and improved work methods the jobs don´t go overseas.

They just go!

The Democrats seem to uniformly buy into this ´go overseas´ stuff yet that´s not it. Might have happened in the past but for the last 45 years, that´s not what happened.

Even the Chicoms produce only about 2% of the gross value of products sold on the American market. Now that´s a whopping huge amount of money in absolute terms, but it´s still 2% ~ and worse, the Chicoms are facing the same grim future in the workplace as they too adopt mechanization, automation, computerization, robotics and improved work methods so they can keep up with advances in productivity, and lowering of prices in the more industrially developed parts of the globe (meaning us).

The Chicoms already do the share the job thing. They went to the 20 hour week years ago. It will get shorter in the future!

It´s not accidental that Obama cut off employed people who work less than 20 hours per week from being able to buy health insurance. If he knows anything he´s been told that´s the magic number else everybody will have health insurance that nobody can afford. By excluding 10s of millions from even the opportunity for health care insurance Obama is going to met his master´s goal of making America look like China.

In my opinion, the Pope is very wrong to say that capitalism is a major source of evil in this world. The bible says the love of money, i.e. greed, is the root of evil. But it isn´t capitalism that is evil, rather it is unjust competition where underhanded means are used to suppress others´ better products of labor. It is very easy to mistake one for the other. Government-dictated winner and losers in industry just compounds this evil. If you, Obama, want to know who is the major transgressor who widened the gap between the poor and the rich most unjustly, look in the mirror. You have more that half a billion of everyone´s money to your rich Solyndra pal. Most of the tax payers are poorer that Elon Musk. Why did poorer taxpayers have to pay so that Mr. Musk wouldn´t lose so much on a crappy investment while he doesn´t have to give out a higher percentage of his profits. I begrudge him his profits because he induced Obama as leader to use poor people´s taxes to cover his personal financial losses. That is morally reprehensible.

#10, with respect, Pope Francis wrote something very different from what you have attributed to him. It´s a document called EVANGELII GAUDIUM (not a speech or a misquoted interview). In paragraphs 52-60, Francis criticizes free market economics as a socio-economic system that is "unjust at its root" and he calls upon political leaders and the state to adopt a vigorous change in approach to redress inequality. The rest of it is worse. I urge folks to search it out and read it on line.

I grew up in a world with a free market president and an anti-communist pope. Now I´m living in the reverse image of that.

I just keep looking for Spock with a pointy beard.

Rush Limbaugh citing Obama citing the Pope ... and Rush has conceded that he got his input from the liberal media. Lord knows where Obama got his input. Certainly not from the document.

Besides - if you have no background in Catholic Christian theology - misinterpretation is the likely result.

Lacking background - at least they should read the original source document and consult with an authority before spouting nonsense.

Fish are losing their survival instinct as the world´s oceans become more acidic because of climate change, researchers have claimed. The study confirms laboratory experiments showing that the behavior of reef fishes can be seriously affected by increased carbon dioxide concentrations in the ocean. Carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere is absorbed into ocean waters, where it dissolves and lowers the pH of the water. The new study is the first to analyze the sensory impairment of fish from CO2 seeps, where pH is similar to what climate models forecast for surface waters by the turn of the century. ´These results verify our laboratory

WASHINGTON - Americans increasingly think Democrats have a better plan for healthcare than Republicans, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted after the White House announced that more people than expected had signed up for the "Obamacare" health plan. Nearly one-third of respondents in the online survey released on Tuesday said they prefer Democrats´ plan, policy or approach to healthcare, compared to just 18 percent for Republicans. This marks both an uptick in support for Democrats and a slide for Republicans since a similar poll in February. Big Government: The Congressional Budget Office warns of a terrifying, unprecedented level of national debt in the coming decade. That fits nicely with Democrats´ objectives, but not with our nation´s founding principles. Andrew Jackson, who in 1835 succeeded in paying off the national debt, was famous for considering debt slavery. The current fiscal path the U.S. is on does indeed lead to slavery, but the slave masters of the future will be well-heeled politicians and federal bureaucrats, not plantation owners. The CBO´s new budget projections contain an eerie warning that we are on path from today´s already unfathomable $17.7 trillion in gross

Sunlight is said to be the best disinfectant, and the end, at least temporarily, to the Bureau of Land Management´s armed standoff with Cliven Bundy may be due in part to the exposure given to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid´s role in the attempt to confiscate Bundy´s cattle and shut down his ranch. Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day.
