Another Day, Another
Obamacare Propaganda Session

American Spectator, by Ross Kaminsky

Original Article

On Tuesday afternoon, in yet another example of Barack Obama’s inability to start a presentation (much less a giant website) on time, the president defended the disastrous health care law that is colloquially named for him and asked for help to “spread the word” about the law’s purported benefits. Obama began with the usual liberal talking points: A broken health care system was creating “anxiety” (but liberals never admit that the system’s dysfunction is entirely the result of government regulation, and that Obamacare just exacerbates that problem. How much anxiety do people have about their auto insurance or renters insurance, i.e. products

If you repeat a lie again and again, people will believe it. 0bama must have a PhD in lying issued by Goebels University. Lofos will buy his lies, the Republicans aren´t refuting them by buying ad space on TV or other media. We are screwed. I´m so depressed.

Hey #1, while I share some of your concern, we have to remember that this is more than a propaganda issue. This is a real situation having real impact on people´s lives. As more and more people are affected or know those who are it will be nearly impossible for Zero to speechify his way out of it. He, the Dems and the Enemedia will lose all credibility and trust.

I almost feel sorry for those lo-info people who are drinking the cool-aid. Obama should be ashamed of himself for selling a broken vehicle. He is counting on them to buy a faulty product knowing it will force many of them to take a second job to pay for it. How disgusting is that! He should be impeached.

A Ukrainian official announced Sunday that all military reservists were being called to active duty, even as Russian troops appeared to be advancing deeper into the Crimean Peninsula. Andriy Paruby, Secretary of Ukraine´s Security Council, which is made up of Ukraine´s top security and defense chiefs, said that it was vital to ensure that the Ukrainian armed forces were combat-ready as soon as possible. Paruby also said that Ukraine´s Foreign Ministry had been ordered to seek assistance from the U.S. and Great Britain in guaranteeing the country´s safety. Meanwhile, Associated Press journalists witnessed a convoy of 12 military trucks carrying troops, a

No one seems to get why the Ukraine Crisis matters, why a Russian invasion of the Crimea represents a turning-point in American decline. But decades hence historians might point to today as the moment when everything changed. Oh, I’m not a war-hawk. What’s happening reminds one all too well of Cecil Woodham-Smith’s The Reason Why, the best account of the Crimean War and the battle of Balaclava. As I write, Balaclava seems to be occupied by Russian troops, and the last thing one wants to see is another Charge of the Light Brigade. Lord Raglan never meant his cavalry to charge

President Obama stepped up to the podium twenty minutes after the announced time for his talk and gave a short, sharply worded but ultimately vague statement on what looks like a growing and intentional Russian military presence in Crimea. We shall see how things work out, but at first glance President Putin appears to have stolen yet another march on the sputtering West. As I wrote last week, Putin was under pressure to act quickly and run risks; not for the first time, complacent and unobservant Western leaders underestimated Russian decisiveness and determination to surprise. Washington in particular appears to have

The acting prime minister has gone so far as to say that a Russian invasion would mean war and an end to his country´s relationship with Russia. The president embarks on a massive government-subsidized program to develop alternative energy to replace fossil fuels. Pundits cluck about America in retreat, and point to the rise of an Asian economic superpower. That’s the world circa 1976, but it sounds like quotes ripped from today’s headlines. As John noted below, President Obama spent an hour and a half on the telephone with Vladimir Putin discussing the Russian invasion of Ukraine. What was the conversation like? We can probably get a good sense of it by considering the account of President Bush’s conversations with Putin set forth by Peter Baker in his excellent book about the Bush presidency, Days of Fire. It’s well known that Bush and Putin got on well at first. But when the relationship soured, Bush became exasperated by his talks with the Russian bully. Putin seemed to delight in debating Bush. President Barack Obama fired a few verbs across the front armor of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s tanks, in a rushed statement just after 5 p.m. on Friday. The statement was made as Russian forces — including attack helicopters — appeared in peripheral parts of the Ukraine that are largely populated by ethnic Russians. There’s no evidence that Obama wants to get involved in what may become a war between the Ukraine and Russia. He did not threaten any significant retaliation if Russian force attack nor did he offer military aid to the Ukraine. He announced that Vice President Joe Biden — but not

President Barack Obama is warning Russia "there will be costs" for any military maneuvers it launches in Ukraine, a move U.S. and Ukrainian officials say they believe to be already underway. Officials say Obama may retaliate by canceling a trip to Russia this summer for an international summit and could also cut off trade discussions with Moscow. But it´s unclear whether those moves will have any impact on Russia´s calculus in Ukraine, which is at the center of what many see as a tug of war between East and West. SEVASTOPOL, Ukraine — Heightened Russian military activity in Crimea on Friday prompted a stern warning from President Obama and a deepening sense of crisis among the leaders of the new Ukrainian government in Kiev. U.S. officials said Russian troops had entered Crimea, and Obama told reporters Friday evening that he was “deeply concerned by reports of military movements” and that there “will be costs for any military intervention.” Earlier in the day, the new Ukrainian government said that hundreds of soldiers in green camouflage, without insignia but carrying military-style automatic rifles, had taken over two airports in Crimea. Security Council spent the day trying to fashion a response to the rapid escalation of the Ukraine crisis after Russian troops took up positions throughout the autonomous republic of Crimea. Obama expressed “deep concern,” the White House said, and called on Russia to withdraw its forces back to its bases in Crimea and “to refrain from any interference elsewhere in Ukraine.” Putin appeared to have given little ground, according to a readout of the conversation from his office.

I’ve often seen the literary phrase “lamentations of their women,” but I’ve never actually heard what such a thing sounded like — until today, that is. In the early morning of February 26, after hours of debate, the UCLA student government rejected a motion to divest their funds from Israel, despite a concerted campaign by anti-Israel activists on campus. Immediately after the vote, one of the anti-Israel activists on the panel burst into tears and started screaming and whining incomprehensibly, and in general throwing a tantrum worthy of a frustrated two year old. Luckily, the whole meltdown was captured on
