Mommy, the Drone’s Here!
New York Times, by Maureen Dowd

WASHINGTON — The novelty of flying cars never materialized. But flying novels are right around the corner. If you aren’t nervous enough reading about 3-D printers spitting out handguns or Google robots with Android phones, imagine the skies thick with crisscrossing tiny drones. “I know this looks like science fiction. It’s not,” Jeff Bezos told Charlie Rose on “60 Minutes” Sunday, unveiling his octocopter drones. The Amazon founder is optimistic that the fleet of miniature robot helicopters clutching plastic containers will be ready to follow GPS coordinates within a radius of 10 miles and zip around the country providing half-hour

How will the drone enter a secure office building to deliver heavy goods? What happens when two or more drones collide? This will be a nightmare.

This will do to Teamsters what the shipping container did to Longshoremen. Overpaid union hacks will be brought back to economic reality.

Unfortunately, Obama has pinched the air hose of innovation and business creation in America, so these delivery drivers will likely join the ranks of the unemployed.

Diversionary explanation... Real use won´t be executed until Utopian Urban Condo Slots are filled with x-suburban middle classers.

Consumerism will have diminished to items that can fit in your 300 sf. condo slot, so most deliveries will be food & toiletries.

Drones will be loaded from a train dock & sent to deliver. Gov´t approved food & clothing, subtracted from your earnings.

Then the drone will simply drop supplies on balconies... according to gov´t approved allocations. Of course this will be a major asset for citizens, since they can only travel by bike or train to get supplies!

Water, power, cable & internet will all be provided by gov´t & deducted from your pay.

Bike stations will pump your tires & do repairs that are automatically deducted from your pay.

Essentially, all we will be given for pay is credits to eat out or upgrade a clothing item.

And if we are really lucky, based on DNA & school testing, the gov´t will assign our jobs!

All contingent on real patriots fighting to keep our Constitution & Bill of Rights as law.... which would blow this NWO Utopian nightmare away.

One of our family´s younger generation told me yesterday that the drone thing probably would be suitable for the future, when we all are living in our prescribed government micro-apartment, or pod, as she called it.

With public dissatisfaction mounting, Peco Energy Co. on Thursday mobilized an unprecedented emergency response to restore service to hundreds of thousands of customers who lost power in Wednesday´s ice storm. Peco said 1,600 workers from utilities as far as Arkansas and Canada were expected to arrive Friday to join the 3,500 employees and contractors already on the ground. The force of more than 5,000 workers would be a third larger than Peco´s response to Hurricane Sandy in 2012, which caused more outages. With temperatures forecast to sink into the low 20s through the weekend, customer tolerance for a prolonged outage was

LOS ANGELES — California’s power grid operator has asked for voluntary conservation of power because the extreme cold in much of the United States and Canada has caused a shortage of natural gas supplies to Southern California power plants. The California Independent System Operator issued a so-called Flex Alert until 10 p.m. Thursday. The natural gas shortage is only impacting Southern California power plants, but authorities say statewide electricity and gas conservation will help free up both electricity and gas supplies. Flex Alerts are usually associated with power demands for cooling

Newly reported details about a 52-minute sniper attack on a central California electrical substation last year are raising concerns from Capitol Hill and beyond, amid questions over whether it was the work of terrorists. The April 16, 2013, attack had not been widely publicized until The Wall Street Journal reported new details in a story on Wednesday. The attack reportedly started when at least one person entered an underground vault to cut telephone cables, and attackers fired more than 100 shots into Pacific Gas & Electric’s Metcalf transmission substation, knocking out 17 transformers. Electric officials were able to avert a

Gowdy referred to Obama´s assertion in a Fox News interview that there was “not even a smidgen of corruption” in the IRS case. "How can he possibly draw that conclusion?" Hobby Lobby objects because its owners, the Green family, believe that their faith prohibits abortion. There’s big, cheerful doings planned in the tenth year since his passing. We’re talking music by the Camp Pendleton Marine Division Band, a color guard, a brass quintet, a 21-gun salute, an official aircraft flyover, the blessings of a chaplain and the placing of an official White House wreath — all this at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California. “President Reagan is one of few presidents where Americans remember the man,

As celebrity gossip goes, it takes some beating: actress and model Elizabeth Hurley has year-long affair with Bill Clinton while he was US President. Throw in the suggestion that they had a liaison in the White House while Hillary Clinton was next door, and that Mr Clinton ended it when he realised he was falling in love, and you have a story that rivals Marilyn Monroe’s alleged fling with John F Kennedy. But when something sounds too good to be true, it usually is, as Miss Hurley pointed out on Wednesday when she was forced to deny the “ludicrously silly”

The Congressional Budget Office estimated on Tuesday that the Affordable Care Act will reduce the number of full-time workers by 2.5 million over the next decade. That is mostly a good thing, a liberating result of the law. Of course, Republicans immediately tried to brand the findings as “devastating” and stark evidence of President Obama’s health care reform as a failure and a job killer. It is no such thing. (SNIP) The new law will free people, young and old, to pursue careers or retirement without having to worry about health coverage.

The Affordable Care Act, aka ObamaCare, became law almost four years ago. It became operational last Oct. 1. Yesterday, Feb. 4, 2014, the ACA may well have been dealt its death blow. The Congressional Budget Office released a major study of the government’s budget and its effect on the overall economy over the next 10 years. In dull bureaucratic language, it delivers a devastating analysis of the inefficiencies, ineffectualities and problematic social costs of ObamaCare. The one-two punch: Virtually as many Americans will lack health coverage in 10 years as before the law was passed — but 2 million fewer

The day produced more evidence blowing apart President Obama´s claims that there was "not even a smidgen of corruption" or political motivation in the IRS handling of groups applying for tax-exempt status. Mr. Obama wants Americans to believe that the targeting resulted from the confusing tax law governing nonprofits, which he says was "difficult" to interpret and resulted in mere "bureaucratic" mistakes. This is also the Administration´s justification for issuing new regulations governing

While some critics focused on a finding by the CBO that Obamacare will result in 2.5 million fewer workers over a decade, conservatives said the bigger fundamental issue highlighted in the report is one familiar to the welfare state — that taxpayer-funded government subsidies provide disincentives for full-time work. “People used to be stuck in jobs because they needed the health insurance,” said
