John McCain joins Ted Cruz
in assailing ´Obama, Harry
Reid and Washington liberals´

Washington Examiner, by Paul Bedard

Sen. John McCain is starting to sound like a Tea Party “wacko bird.” In a new fundraising letter for the Republican National Committee released Friday, McCain lashed out at “Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Washington liberals,” who he claimed are destroying the United States. Liberals, he warned, “have taken us down a dark and dangerous path defined by record levels of debt, ever-expanding government, and a lead-from-behind defense strategy. There´s not much time left to turn things around.” McCain’s name carries a lot of weight in fundraising because he was the 2008 GOP nominee and is a leading voice of

Comments:
They hypocrisy of this duplicitous old fool is absolutely stunning. This coming from the guy (along with his sweet buddy Miss Lindsey) who is always first to reach across the aisle to the enemy. Now allegedly McPain woke up and instead of constantly bashing the conservative wing of the party he and McConnell et al should do all they can to join together and destroy and defeat the Democrats. I sure wish I could believe him.

Sometimes even McCain has no idea from which side of his mouth is speaking. I have had enough of his double-dealing and duplicity.

Are McCain and the rest of the flaccid Republican Party just starting to wake up to the fact that liberals are trying to destroy the USA?

Better late than never but where have these RINO clowns been?

Our lunchroom at work has a fridge, one side of which is covered in those magnetic words that you can scramble into a goofy sentence. This looks like a product of this pastime. Must be something has scared McAinus into this. My guess would be something to do with RNC donations being at the lowest point , ever.

John, standing shoulder to shoulder with the Republican team hasn´t worked for you yet. You continue to be confused and lost standing long side the rats. You are no member of the TEA Party, and it is highly questionable you are even a Republican or a Conservative. The only correct decision you have made recently was to stand beside Gov. Palin before your team beat up on her and attempted to throw her aside into the gutter

Mr. Bedard, McCain lost in 2008. He delivered this country into the grip of the radical left for at least half a generation. He sabotaged the campaign after he saw himself and Gov. Palin leading in the polls. He should have retired from public life in disgrace long ago. You say just because he was the candidate in 2008 it carries weight in 2013 fundraising. Why promote such an idea?

Isn´t Cruz the same guy he was, until recently, referring to as a wacko bird? His internal poll numbers must be just appalling in regards to his next election. His finely tuned nose must have sniffed out a recall petition. Don´t forget, he was the subject of one that nearly ended his career, then 9/11 happened and saved his neck.

Or maybe he is finally convinced that riding the coattails of the most popular man in politics right now is a good thing.

McCain wants to help McConnell win his primary. These old grifters band together and move away from their leftist buddies every time there´s an election coming. McConnell has allowed his actual position regarding the Republican base to become public even as he tried to spin it away. He needs all the help he can get.

The leftist wing of the Republican party needs to be retired.

That said, I really hope someone in KY is doing the work at vetting McConnell´s opponents. Support from Democrats means nothing when you consider Democrats know that could mean death to a particular candidate´s campaign.

Republican presidential hopefuls

GOP presidential hopefuls are largely steering clear of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s fight with the federal government. The showdown, which left armed militia members and feds staring each other down last week, has captivated talk radio and cable news shows, turning Bundy into a conservative cause célèbre. Yet Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Mike Huckabee, a former Arkansas governor and 2008 presidential candidate, are the only big-name Republicans to have spoken out on the dispute so far. Tea Party favorite Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has been silent, and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) have also not

The U.S. is sending helmets, sleeping bags and generators to support the Ukrainian military -- but stopped short of approving other items the interim government reportedly says it needs to stand up to the might of Moscow, saber-rattling on its doorstep. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel announced Thursday that the U.S. will send the additional non-lethal military aid. The additional aid was announced as fighting between Ukraine´s military and pro-Russian factions intensified in the eastern part of the country. Hagel, speaking at a press conference at the Pentagon with his Polish counterpart, said the approved aid would include medical supplies, helmets, sleeping mats,

President Obama´s budget would not place the federal debt on a downward path over the next 10 years, according to projections released by the Congressional Budget Office on Thursday. The CBO, Congress’ nonpartisan budget scorekeeper, projected that if the president’s proposals were to go into effect, federal debt held by the public would rise from $12.8 trillion at the end of fiscal 2014 to $19.9 trillion in 2024, leaving the level of debt as a share of total economic output constant, at roughly 74 percent. Media Matters for America is apparently resisting an effort by Service Employees International Union Local 500 to unionize its staff. Last week, the union filed a representation petition with the National Labor Relations Board, indicating that the nonprofit media watchdog organization rejected an effort by the union to organize MMFA´s staff through a Card Check election. A filing with the NLRB does not necessarily mean that the union and management are in direct confrontation. For example, although Volkswagen tacitly backed the United Auto Workers´ recent effort to organize its Chattanooga, Tenn., plant, the company still insisted on an NLRB-monitored election. But the

In some of his harshest comments about the administration´s lackluster foreign policy to date, Sen. McCain, the top foreign policy expert in Congress, said that U.S. credibility to lead the war against terrorist states cracked when Obama failed to make good on his threats against Syrian chemical attacks and when the al Qaeda retook Fallujah where the bloodiest battle in Iraq took place, killing 96 Americans and wounding 600. Sending scores of armed agents along with helicopters and dogs to confront an elderly Nevada rancher over grazing fees may seem like overkill, but critics say it’s not inconsistent with the federal government’s recent approach to environmental enforcement. The simmering truce between the Bundys and the Bureau of Land Management comes after high-profile raids last year by armed federal agents on small-time gold miners in tiny Chicken, Alaska, and guitar makers at the Gibson Guitar facilities in Tennessee. That doesn’t include more subtle threats, such as recent efforts by the Obama administration to raise grazing fees or pressure

Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. Hank Aaron’s recent comments about the need for America to realize that racism is still very much alive and thriving — only now due to those who wear “neckties and starched shirts” rather than KKK hoods — has sparked an angry backlash and many fans are turning the tables, calling the baseball legend himself a racist. “Hank Aaron is a s*****g piece of [expletive] [racial slur],” one man said in an email to the Atlanta Braves’ front office, one of the teams Mr. Aaron used to play for, CBS News reported. “My old man instilled in my mind from a

The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it

In an open letter to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, Carter and the nine other Nobel Peace Prize winners bluntly warned the leaders: “Your decision on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline will define your climate legacy.” The missive, published as an advertisement in Politico, represents the first time Carter has taken a position on the $5.4 billion project and makes him the first former president to come

How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. David Letterman joked on air that Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter had had sex with Alex Rodriguez during a New York Yankees game. There was no downside to that either. President Obama tosses around “sweetie” as he wishes. No problem with that. No one believes Barack could be condescending to women.
