Politico: Dems Prep

Breitbart´s Big Government, by Mike Flynn

It is no secret that the Democrat party is hemorrhaging support in the wake of the disastrous ObamaCare rollout. As the Administration warns that the website will not be fully operational at the end of November, nervous Democrats are expected to try to separate themselves from Obama and his flawed health program. Politico´s Mike Allen was on MSNBC this week, saying that they are "hearing" that Democrats will be very aggressive against the program in Congressional oversight hearings next week. If Politico is "hearing" something, it means Democrats are trying to leak the information to the public ahead of the

It´s going to be really tough for most of these Democrats to distance themselves from the debacle that they voted for and continually lied about to their constituents. They will attempt to look courageous, but will instead be seen as either liars or dupes or both.

Election smokescreen. They all still back Obamacare 100%.

They just want you to believe otherwise so you will re-elect them to unleash the next wave of destruction.

Republicans should have taken full advantage of the fix the Democrats are in - as they are really sweating it. Boehner should have swallowed his pride, sought Cruz´ help and counsel to help unite House Pubbies and brought a bill to REPEAL to the floor. This would put any Democrat up for reelection in a real tight box without escape. What a missed opportunity.

Blaming the insurance companies isn´t going to work because none of these problems on such a vast scale happened until O´Care was passed. (I will not call it the AFA. Obama´s name is all over it and he gets the blame, along with his Party.)

As for the Dems "trashing" Obamacare, that´s all well and good but words do nothing to ameliorate the problem. The Democrat Party itself, in a majority, must take action to repeal or dismantled ALL mandates.

As to how the Democrat Party will make restitution to the dead and to those whose entire life´s work went down the toilet to Obamacare hell, that is another matter.

People are losing their dignity, their lives and all the money they saved over a lifetime of hard work. Middle class people with less to lose, will lose just as much -- everything.

So words mean nothing. Trash away, Dems, but until you actually do something, you´re still going to get blamed along with the snake who sold you the rotten apple.

List the lies. There will be greater competition. If you like your plan you can keep it. A better plan will be more affordable. If you have an employer plan you like you will need to do nothing.

Can we afford for another 75 to 100 million to lose their insurance coverage? Repeal it. Then make specific reforms. Like competition across state lines and portability. Like medical savings accounts.

Don´t fall for this. The democrats will never buck Barry. Their fates are intertwined and like Obama promised, they will grind through this. Count on it. If they were serious, they would make it clear that they would vote to repeal it now. They believe like Obama that the outrage will pass and they will survive this. Besides Harry Reid would table any bill that makes its way to his desk. There is no way he would put it up for a vote. The only option they have is to stick it out. They know they will win in the end because Americans will go bankrupt with added health care costs. Then they can ride to the rescue. They just have to hold on until people are in dire straits. They are truly an evil bunch.

Remember George H.W. Bush? He told us to read his lips--no new taxes. It was a lie. And it affected Americans in their pocketbooks. Even though he had great success in foreign policy and in spite of the fact that the MSM didn´t run nonstop attacks (at least compared with their treatment of GWB), he didn´t get a second term.

Americans don´t much like lies that touch them in their pocketbooks. Obama has told not one lie but several that will deeply disrupt the personal finances of millions of citizens. The Democrats remember their losses in 2010. Back then, the damage to be caused by Obamacare was only distant and theoretical. Now it is up close and personal. The ones who don´t want to end up on the political scrap heap are already figuring out how to distance themselves from Obama and Obamacare.

Obamacare has been ruled a tax and therefore can be repealed in reconciliation by a simple majority vote.

Accordingly, if only six (6) of the 53 Senate Dems would "prove their sincerity" by joining 45 Senate Republicans in voting to repeal Obamacare, it would be a done deal. If not, all this Dem talk about "trashing" ObamaCare is just that -- trash.

Don´t even need a calendar anymore ... you can tell when an election is a year away.

Folks that act like Liberal Democrats in Washington realize that they have to snooker the lofos and bumpkins back home to get another term, so it´s time to act like you are conservative, care about the local saps, and (as sung by Charles Durning in "Best Little Whorehouse"), dance a little side-step and lead the people on ...

And of course, the establishment RINOs and the Washington Republican types who think those Libs throw great parties (and enjoy going to them) will let them get away with it.

Ain´t like the media are gonna trot our the "four pinnochios" liar ranking. They´ll do that a couple times in the off-years just to act fair, but don´t expect it in an election year.

Heck, they propped up Clinton´s bag man for governor of Virginia and you´d think he was a reformer compared to the alleged crook GOP governor.

Yes, we know this is their standard game of "pretend outrage." However, there is a very simple solution here. Namely, force a vote to repeal Obamacare just a couple months before the 2014 election. Reid will undoubtedly try to disallow even a vote on it, but here´s the beauty of his attempt to do so...given the number of Democrats who feign outrage, there are enough of them plus the Republicans to force a vote. And if the pretend-outrage-Democrats don´t do so, they are exposed as the liars they are.

Do it.

At this point in time, the Dims are counting on the health care web site to work somewhat efficiently come the fist of next week. If, by some miracle it does, then they will be out crying loud and long how everything is "fixed" and everything will proceed as planed. They will carefully avoid mentioning any thing about the financial ruin that it is going to bring on a very large number of people.

As another point, I ask why, with a VERY few exceptions, aren´t we hearing anything from the GOP about all that is happening, going to happen, and how only Dims voted for this train wreck? Everyone here at LCom knows full well what SHOULD be being said, but we hear nothing. My only guess is the Pubbies are waiting for the election season to start next year. But, they should be doing it right now./rant

The Social Security Administration announced Monday that it will immediately cease efforts to collect on taxpayers’ debts to the government that are more than 10 years old. The action comes after The Washington Post reported that the government was seizing state and federal tax refunds that were on their way to about 400,000 Americans who had relatives who owed money to Social Security. In many cases, the people whose refunds were intercepted had never heard of any debt, and the debts dated as far back as the middle of the past century. “I have directed an immediate halt to further

Democrats have had a recurring problem in special elections this year: Their voters aren’t turning out. If a weak economy and continued Obamacare problems persist, the November elections could be a disaster for Democrats. Last week, Democrats lost two special elections they weren’t planning to. Arlington, Va., is a classic wealthy ObamaTown, filled with government workers and limousine liberals. Mitt Romney won only 29 percent of the vote in 2012. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said little as federal agents seized and then released cattle last week from the Bundy ranch, but there is little doubt that the highly charged episode was threatening to become a political headache for the Nevada Democrat. On the defensive about their prospects in the midterm elections this fall, congressional Democrats have spent all of April savaging the Republican budget proposal, decrying the Koch brothers and championing a series of bills meant to ingratiate themselves to struggling middle-class voters. Many of those deaths involve handguns. The adoption of rules that will lessen the number of those incidents should be a matter of primary concern to both federal and state legislators. Struggling homeowners across the country could face significant new tax bills if they receive mortgage relief from their banks, a prospect that threatens to slow the housing recovery and put further strain on distressed borrowers. The collapse of the housing market and plunging home prices left millions of people stuck owing more on their mortgages than their homes were worth. Some have worked with their banks to reduce the loan amount to avoid foreclosure or enable a sale. On Saturday, I wrote about the standoff at Bundy Ranch. That post drew a remarkable amount of traffic, even though, as I wrote then, I had not quite decided what to make of the story. Since then, I have continued to study the facts and have drawn some conclusions. Here they are. First, it must be admitted that legally, Bundy doesn’t have a leg to stand on. The Bureau of Land Management has been charging him grazing fees since the early 1990s, which he has refused to pay. Further, BLM has issued orders limiting the area on which Bundy’s cows can

Chelsea Clinton says when people ask her these days whether she wants to go into politics, her answer isn’t an automatic “no.” The 34-year-old former first daughter told Fast Company in an interview published Monday, “for so long the answer was just a visceral no. Not because I had made any conscientious, deliberate decision, but since people had been asking for as long as literally I could remember, it was no." Now, the only child of former President Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton explains, "I live in a city and a state and a country where I

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Megyn Kelly’s "Kelly File" is a great news show. She’s incisive, informed and customarily handles the toughest guest with aplomb. But her lengthy interview of Facebook C.O.O. Sheryl Sandberg about her second book in the Lean In series Lean In: For Graduates was a head shaker. Amazing that she of all people allowed Sandberg to restring the same old, same old, shamed, and shopworn feminist myths about women and girls and then jangle it in front of her viewing audience like something new out of the box. Indeed Kelly all but genuflected in front of this woman. Kept her on thru

Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it

Hank Aaron’s recent comments about the need for America to realize that racism is still very much alive and thriving — only now due to those who wear “neckties and starched shirts” rather than KKK hoods — has sparked an angry backlash and many fans are turning the tables, calling the baseball legend himself a racist. “Hank Aaron is a s*****g piece of [expletive] [racial slur],” one man said in an email to the Atlanta Braves’ front office, one of the teams Mr. Aaron used to play for, CBS News reported. “My old man instilled in my mind from a

Funny question in the headline, yes? But since President Obama worries more about the threat of terrorists´ improvised nuclear device going off in a major American city than anything Russia can throw at us, I was wondering if the government had deigned to share with us citizens any tips for, you know, surviving something their own intelligence points to as the likeliest unlikely Black Swan event. Well, no. And yes. No — very few people in Washington, D.C., who work for the government have any idea what they would do if a 10-kiloton nuclear device exploded at the intersection of 16th and K

When President Obama needed a preacher to fulfill the closing prayer duties at the annual White House Easter Prayer Breakfast, he turned to none other than the Episcopal Church’s first openly gay bishop — who said he was as shocked as anyone at the appointment. The Right Rev. Gene Robinson said in a tweet, accompanied by a photo of Mr. Obama behind a podium at the event: “POTUS ‘preaches’ at the Easter prayer breakfast. Then, out of the blue, asks ME to close with prayer. OMG!” Newsmax said he also emphasized that the words he chose to close the breakfast

President Obama pulled a surprise move Monday at the White House’s Easter Prayer Breakfast when he selected Gene Robinson to lead the closing prayer. Robinson is famously known as the first openly gay Episcopal bishop. Talking Points Memo’s Tom Kludt spotted the following tweet from Robinson, who was in attendance: (Tweet) Robinson, 66, became diocesan bishop of New Hampshire in March 2004. He retired in January 2013 and is currently a senior fellow at the progressive

A Russian fighter jet made multiple, close-range passes near an American warship in the Black Sea for more than 90 minutes Saturday amid escalating tensions in the region, a U.S. military official said Monday. In the first public account of the incident, the official said the Russian Fencer flew within 1,000 yards of the USS Donald Cook, a Navy destroyer, at about 500 feet above sea level. Ship commanders considered the actions provocative and inconsistent with international agreements, prompting the ship to issue several radio queries and warnings. The fighter appeared to be unarmed and never was in danger of
