Brokaw Recalls a ‘Conservative’
Reaction to JFK Shooting: ‘About

Joining the hosts of MSNBC’s The Cycle on Friday, legendary NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw previewed a special on the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy’s assassination that will air on MSNBC that night. Recounting his experiences from that day, he said that the reaction to JFK’s assassination, “mostly in conservative states,” was encapsulated by his interaction with one man who expressed satisfaction over the president’s killing. “This was unusual but it was not unheard of,” Brokaw told the MSNBC hosts, prefacing a conservative’s reaction to JFK’s killing. “As I came running out of the announce booth, the chief engineer,

Cheap shot, Brokaw, I worked with a guy, Catholic, who said God struck him down, deservedly, for not demanding free school busing to Catholic schools. He made as much sense as Brokaw

I don´t believe Brokaw ever heard anyone say that. He´s a lying Communist.

Oswald was a Communist. Brokaw is doing what all Communists have been doing for 50 years: trying to divert America´s attention from the fact hat Kennedy was killed by a Communist.

Today I heard Kennedy´s speech from Fort Worth before he went to Dallas. The speech was virulently anti-Communist, and quite inspiring, to be frank.

Kennedy was pro-business, pro-life, low tax, anti-Communist and Rah-Rah American.

The Communist Democrats wouldn´t wipe their shoes on Kennedy today. That´s why they´ve worked overtime to make the last several generations believe that "right-wingers" were responsible for the assassination.

That´s why Brokaw lies: he´s a Communist and he wants to divert attention from the fact that a Communist killed Kennedy.

Communist is an "old fashioned" word that´s not used much today, but I´m going to work overtime to bring it back. I´m going to start calling the Democrats what they are: Communists.

Kennedy was a serial abuser of women (including his wife) and addicted to drugs. That is the untold side of Camelot. I hope this week will be the last we have to endure the onslaught of propaganda about him.

Was still on active duty November 22, 1963, served as our Group Duty Officer that fateful day in history and listened to the tributes from all over the globe on our unit´s Trans-Oceanic Radio. The reaction was one of grief...worldwide grief.

Once again, "legendary" NBC News Anchor Brokaw demonstrates why he is despised by multitudes of freedom loving Americans from coast to coast.

Tom Brokaw prefaced his very questionable remarks with “This was unusual but it was not unheard of,”. First reaction to reading that was that he sounds like someone about to tell a huge whopper that he realizes most people will find difficult to believe.

Then: “He said, ‘About time somebody shot that SOB’”
“That was heard in other places, mostly in conservative states,” Brokaw concluded.

I don´t know about what was said by the man in Brokaw´s story, but Tom is going to have to give a lot more evidence than the word of Tom Brokaw for that slam against ´conservative states´. What conservative state were Tom and the man in when that was said by the man? And, since it was ´unusual´, why mention it in the first place? Never mind, we know.

That was not the reaction in the conservative area where I was born and raised in the South.

Tom Brokaw should be ashamed of himself.

#18 I agree with you, this has the feel of the Dan Rather Air National Guard story hit on Bush. There is a real attempt going on to split the country North and South.

The Left got the establishment Republicans to kick out Evangelicals, Now its Tea Party People and Southerners to include (Dallas) should all be discredited. Only North Easter and West Coast Libs should have any say in politics.

He may very well have heard someone say that, and the person who said it was obviously not a liberal, though it was wicked of Brokaw to try to smear all conservatives with that anecdote.

But the person who was going around happily informing everyone of the assassination when I was in the eighth grade was actually my best friend. My boyfriend & I were shocked that she was making no bones about being glad about it. Her father was prominent in our town & county even though he was a flaming racist and in the white Citizens Council (like KKK except legal & no burning crosses). He was even, perhaps a little later, elected to the state legislature more than once. Of course he was a southern Democrat because there was virtually no Republican party in the state at that time.

But he was hardly unique.

He may well have heard that. So what? There are mixed emotions and comments to most such events. I was teaching middle school 600 miles west of Dallas when word came that the President had been shot. The students were about 50/50 in expressing anguish and joy. Some laughed. Some cried. One girl was so distraught that I had a mature boy excort her to the restroom and wait (outside) until she got herself together.

He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls. The bushy-tailed visitor

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

First, the good news: We are close enough to the end of the Obama presidency for his crowd to talk about a presidential library. Now, the bad news: Obama´s retirement is still 1,008 days distant. Plenty of time though to round up the dough to build it somewhere. Figure they need Solyndra-style money, at least $500 million. The last two presidents – Bill Clinton and George W. Bush -- built their legacy edifices totally with private money. [Snip] However, Obama supporters have a different take. They think taxpayers should put up $100 million in public money for Obama´s library.

Less than 16 hours after Chelsea Clinton announced she was pregnant, a lot of major news outlets started staring into the crystal ball of Chelsea’s womb, wondering what this currently floating zygotic multicellular being meant for the prospects of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, which is also a floating, zygotic, multicellular being. Their answer: The immaculately conceived Clinton child could mean everything. And no, it’s not just the fact that having a grandchild could be personally fulfilling to Hillary and Bill (mazel tov, by the way), or that a cute baby would be a sweet cherry on top of Hillary’s already

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Friday stood by his statement regarding embattled Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, saying on KSNV’s What’s Your Point?, “If anyone thinks by any figment of their imagination that what happened up there last week was just people rallying to somebody that was oppressed, 600 people came in armed. They had practiced. They had maneuvered.” Reid continued, “They knew what they were doing. They set up snipers in strategic locations with sniper rifles. They had assault weapons. They had automatic weapons. And they boasted about the fact that they put women and children, in fact one

Remember when Lois Lerner, in answering a planted question at an American Bar Association conference, admitted the IRS had targeted conservative groups but tried to pass it off as the work of rogue agents — “our line people in Cincinnati”? Today we know there were indeed federal agents involved. But they weren’t rogue, and they weren’t confined to IRS workers in Cincinnati. Thanks to a Freedom of Information request by Judicial Watch, we now have an e-mail Lerner sent to colleagues noting the Department of Justice was looking into criminal prosecutions of these tax-exempt groups. We know something else, too. These investigations
