Hollywood heavyweight Matt Damon earned a healthy $3 million for appearing in a Nespresso ad for just 20 seconds with George Clooney, Page Six has exclusively learned. Damon raked in an impressive $150,000 per second he appears in the ad, which was produced for the UK market and directed by Grant Heslov, a producer and co-writer on his upcoming film “The Monuments Men.” A source close to Damon’s fruitful coffee deal exclusively told us: “Matt is one of the few Hollywood stars to have turned down most ad and product-endorsement deals. But this one came with a huge fee and

Here is four minutes and thirty-one seconds of "Matt Damon." It´s all you´ll ever need in this or in any subsequent incarnation. Say it with wonderment, with religious-like intonations: "Matt Damon." "Matt Damon." "Matt Friggin´ Damon! And I´m drinking a hogshead of Howard Zinn!" Beats John Jacob Jingleheimer Smith every time.

Jon Cusack is now the voice you hear on the Chevy ads. Not one of my favorite people, but more and more movie stars are taking the voice-over jobs that usually went to non-stars. I´ve recognized Ed Harris and a bunch of others. I guess movie starring doesn´t pay what it used to so they have to get "work" elsewhere....

Come on now. The headline is misleading. To be fair it probably took Matt at least an hour to do that commercial, and he may even have had to get up early. (S/O)

To be actually fair this is capitalism in action. Matt and George and others like them only command this kind of money because someone decided they are worth it to help sell a product. You can, quite literally, buy it or not.

The hypocrisy arises when people like this take the money and then criticize the system that gives it to them.

The knock on the door came just before 6pm last Saturday. Tom and Jane Hollinghurst and their younger daughter Hannah, 11, were sitting beside the swimming pool behind their home. It was the kind of balmy Florida evening that the British couple had grown used to in the six years since they emigrated from Derbyshire. The sprinkler system was spreading waves of mist over the lawn. Nothing could have prepared them for what they were about to learn. Jane Hollinghurst answered the door. When money managers set up in the U.A.E., they’re usually either investing in the region or trying to tap the Middle East’s large pools of capital for funds that look elsewhere. Ahmad Zuaiter, however, is doing something a little different: using Dubai as a geographically central base from which to invest in frontier markets globally. Mr. Zuaiter, who managed money for George Soros until 2011, has been working for more than a year on a new firm called Jadara Capital, based in the Dubai International Financial Centre. He’s now raising money for Jadara’s maiden fund, which will invest in stocks

A senior White House reporter´s Twitter account has exploded after she posted controversial photos from President Obama´s trip to Saudi Arabia. Carrie Budoff Brown, who writes for Politico, transfixed thousands of Saudis who are starved of news from their own royal family and government because of strict censorship rules. However, since the Arab Spring, use of Twitter and other social networks has expanded exponentially in the region, making it the fasted growing market in the world. And when Brown began posting pictures of 89-year-old King Abdullah, whose health is unknown to his people, with an oxygen tube beneath his nose,

Apparently, Paramount Studios caught wind of all the hullabaloo about how the American public is clamoring for faith-based films. They got a Christian producer and a first-rate, albeit atheist, director, and the project was quickly green-lighted. However, as the saying goes, the devil
