Bill Kristol: Obama Preparing
to Submit to GOP’s Demands on
Obamacare That Forced Shutdown

Mediaite, by Noah Rothman

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 11/8/2013 5:32:32 PM

On Friday, The Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol joined CNN host Jake Tapper to discuss how the roll-out of the Affordable Care Act was changing the political environment and how Washington would try to mitigate the damage the policy’s implementation was doing to Democrats’ 2014 political prospects. Kristol projected that President Barack Obama was preparing to adopt some of the programmatic fixes to the ACA that the GOP had recommended prior to and during the government shutdown. Tapper began the segment by playing a clip from the televised negotiations between

Comments:
Cruz and Lee screamed loud and long about this mess and were excoriated by their own party. If 0bama does this and takes credit it will be more than I can handle. Republicans get hosed no matter if they agree or don´t agree. The media will make sure 0bama is given credit for any changes he may make. It will just prolong the inevitable complete disaster that is coming.

It´s short, and it´s not quite what the headline suggests. I´m not sure I respect the analysis of the people being quoted here.

That said, Ted Cruz is not irrelevant!

The headline should have said that Obama is getting ready to sucker the Republicans right into the middle of Obama Care where they will end up taking ownership of the bad half of it, Obama and his crew will see to that.

This Obama Care is in free fall down a creek without a paddle, the Republicans should step back and let it go to a final conclusion. Once the Obama Care law and regulations start hitting enough Americans in the pocketbook they will see that it comes to a screeching halt. By stepping in now to "fix" Obama Care the Republicans will be opening an escape hatch for Obama and the Democrats before the 2014 election. The Republicans have done similar things before, that´s what they are referred to as the Stupid Party.

By all means give the dems a lifeline to survive 2014 so they can double down on this horrific destruction. Why are we going to delay for a year????? What is wrong with repbublicans???? Delay the individual and all mandates forever! Why on earth would you take the topic away for a year (during the election) so you have nothing to talk about during the election and then in a year it would kick in again? Seriously we are ths stupid party.

The Republican proposals to delay part of Obamacare were made BEFORE its effects were known. Those proposals should now be off the table. Now that everyone KNOWS the effects, that Americans are getting screwed, losing their doctors and their policies and getting huge premium increases, why in the world would Republicans ever agree to anything other than complete repeal or defunding. Now that Democrat political careers are ablaze, why would Republicans sell them career fire insurance?

Screwing Americans NEXT year instead of this year is NOT a viable plan. Make the democrats choke on it until they agree to repeal it. They wanted it. They´ve got it. For good. All year.

Repeal it. Defund it.

John Boehner can stop ObamaCare anytime he wants, but he doesn´t want to. The Supremes said O´Care was only legal as a tax. Fine, that meant it had to be approved by the House as all taxes do. Boehner has never allowed an up or down standalone bill to approve O´Care the Tax to come to the floor. Two days after O´s re-election Boehner said to ABC News that O´Care was the law of the land simply due to O´s re-election, that there would be no more talk about it. Further, Boehner has had the power and votes to defund O´Care since Jan. 2011. The House has 100% authority to defund, can´t be stopped by Senate or House. Boehner has carefully avoided allowing a standalone O´Care defunding bill to come to the floor. I couldn´t care less what Bill Kristol says about anything.

He also rebuked his Republican foes of his law for standing in the way and spreading fear about this overhaul, quipping that “Armageddon has not arrived” and that they are holding back the United States from joining other advanced countries around the world in providing health coverage. “The debate over repealing this law is over. A triumphant President Barack Obama declared his signature medical insurance overhaul a success, saying it has made America´s health care system ´a lot better.´ But buried in the 7.1 million enrollments he announced in a heavily staged Rose Garden appearance is a more unsettling reality. Numbers from a RAND Corporation study that has been kept under wraps suggest that barely 858,000 previously uninsured Americans – nowhere near 7.1 million – have paid for new policies and joined the ranks of the insured by Monday night. Others were already insured, including millions who lost coverage when their existing policies were suddenly

A RAND study pours buckets of cold water on the Obama administration’s claims that it has nearly reached 7 million sign-ups for Obamacare. The whole point of Obamacare, supposedly, was to insure the uninsured and bend the cost curve down. Those who had insurance were supposed to be able to keep it. Families were supposed to start saving about $2500 a year. If you believed the Obama administration. Reality, according to RAND‘s study, is that the Obama administration’s 7 million figure is deceptive.
