Access shock a bigger problem
for Obama than lost insurance

Washington Examiner, by Phillip Klein

Original Article

Posted By:toledo, 11/7/2013 6:54:18 AM

President Obama has spent the past two weeks on the defensive as millions of Americans are receiving cancellation notices from their insurers as a result of changes made by his health care law. But there’s a bigger problem for Obama than Americans getting annoyed at having to lose plans that they like, despite his oft-repeated promise that they could keep them. At the end of the day, people aren’t necessarily loyal to insurance policies or companies. Americans routinely switch plans and insurance companies as they shift jobs, move, get married or have kids.

Quacks and Con-Men will start replacing doctors, and who´s to say that to "fix" the problem the Obamboozler won´t just wave his wrist and mandate that all doctors must participate in Sham-Wow scheme?

For those losing their health insurance and/or their favorite doctors because of Obamacare, it´s a good time to remember that many doctors will accept cash as payment. And if you pay cash, be sure to ask if there is a discount. There often is, and often it is surprisingly large.

Yes #1. When we add up the cost of premiums, it makes sense to pay cash for normal office visits, etc.

Which is what I would do, and purchase a catastrophic plan in case of unexpected illness or accident.

However, to the best of my knowledge, I can´t purchase one of those and pay cash for the rest.

I am a very healthy 54-yo woman who is forced to have pediatric dental and maternity care and probably abortion coverage, or pay the IRS.

The only comfort is that I am not alone in this. Praying for continued good health and a black market of cash-only providers. I will not comply!

Good point:

But if Americans also lose their doctors, the political problems confronting the president and Obamacare will only deepen.

There is little loyalty to the insurers, but there is often tremendous loyalty to one´s doctor(s). Everyone I know knows of a doctor who has dropped out or been forced out of treating people because of O´Care. That´s not fixable unless O´Care is radically altered or simply vanishes.

Well Mr Klein, I´m not sure when you realized this…but many of us knew that this would ultimately be the biggest problem from the get go five years ago. There was simply no way this train wreck was ever going to actually get people care for…."covered" or not.

The entire politics of this was to confuse coverage with care…..many of us were never confused.

Okay - we get it: Obamacare is a disaster and will be a disaster as it is the law of the land. Oh wait, what did Dems say during the govt shutdown: it´s settled law.

But in the meantime, Obama is still flying around the country making speeches, Michelle and the kids and grandma are planning the next winter holiday vacation to Hawaii and maybe squeezing in time to work in the White House garden. Oh, lest I forget, tours of the White House have resumed. Why anyone would want to visit the WH while that family resides there is beyond me.

But only a month ago, the LSM was obsessed with the govt shutdown - the end times and the crony Republicans of the ER were running around calling Sens. Lee and Cruz wacko birds. Yeah - this country is in great shape and let´s just write more and more articles about how all Obama knows is campaigning.

People are not "annoyed" by not being able to connect with site info, they are angry and fearful of what they will find when they actually do get connected.

It comes as no surprise to those who were actively following this mess, what the big ramifications, besides the unaffordablility, would be. Goodbye favorite doctor person who knows me and has been successful in keeping me alive, I must now go to other pastures. This unknown may be the worst of the whole thing.

As to the pResident´s petulantly mendacious character and his use of blatant lies to mitigate bodacious lies, he has created a very rare occurrence in language, an absolute vacuum of adequate, definitive, wording, a vacuum which it seem I can only fill with an uncontrollable and energetic blurt of the N-word, a transgression for which I suffer an agonizing inability to adequately apologize to Thomas Sowell and Clarence Thomas. To my great sorrow, this truth is the only apology I have.

My own doctor is, at this time. playing the wait and see game. We have discussed this a few times, and he has told me that if fees are cut by any large amount, he will retire. He has told me that the Medicare payments barley cover his expenses and the small amount he receives from my other plan is just about all the profit he makes. And that is not much. I get EOB´s (explanation of benefits) all the time from Medicare and my insurance co. that list what was charged and what was paid and how much I might be responsible for. So, I can see at a glance just how little the Dr. receives for all concerned. And to tell the truth, if he does choose to retire, I won´t blame him at all.

If we all don´t (can´t) comply we will, in effect, have a silent protest/revolution without being rude, offensive or violent.

We just have to stand our ground - power in numbers ("We the People").

Thomas Jefferson said a little revolution was good, every once and a while. Here it is.

The real problems have not even begun. Finding qualified docs, scheduling snafus, huge fraud in subsidy qualification, reimbursement to docs by the govn´t (that will be the biggest problem), massive misdiagnosis of serious illnesses with no one doc being held accountable and being denied necessary treatments that were once part of your plan but now denied because you are too old, too sick or it is too costly. Bye-bye any concept of health care.

On Saturday, I wrote about the standoff at Bundy Ranch. That post drew a remarkable amount of traffic, even though, as I wrote then, I had not quite decided what to make of the story. Since then, I have continued to study the facts and have drawn some conclusions. Here they are. First, it must be admitted that legally, Bundy doesn’t have a leg to stand on. The Bureau of Land Management has been charging him grazing fees since the early 1990s, which he has refused to pay. Further, BLM has issued orders limiting the area on which Bundy’s cows can

The moon took on an eerie blood-red hue early Tuesday during the first total lunar eclipse of 2014, a celestial sight that wowed potentially millions of stargazers across North and South America. The total lunar eclipse of April 15 lasted about 3.5 hours between late Monday and early Tuesday, with the Earth´s shadow slowing darkening the face of the so-called "Blood Moon" in a jaw-dropping sight for stargazers willing to stay up extra late or rise super-early for the event. "Definitely worth the early wake-up call," skywatcher Brett Bonine of Arkansas told Space.com in an email.

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) challenged the notion that former IRS official Lois Lerner still had the right to remain silent since she had made factual assertions since she invoked her Fifth Amendment right. Gowdy said that he counted 17 separate factual assertions by Lerner which in his opinion was enough to force her to be cross-examined. “That’s a lot of talking for someone who wants to remain silent. That’s a lot of talking!” Gowdy thundered. “If you honestly that you can make 17 separate factual assertions and still invoke your right to remain silent, then please tell me what waiver is?”

Since 1869, still-born babies, the homeless, the poor and the unclaimed have been stacked one upon the other, three coffins deep, on Hart Island. Corpses are interred in great, anonymous trenches. There are no tombstones. Small white posts in the ground mark each 150 adult bodies. A thousand children and infants are buried together per grave. A House committee on Wednesday accused former IRS official Lois Lerner of breaking agency rules by aggressively urging the agency to deny tax-exempt status to Crossroads GPS, the giant political nonprofit founded by Karl Rove, and several other conservative groups as recently as January 2013. The Republican-led panel released emails showing that Lerner took an interest in Crossroads GPS — inquiring with IRS officials why they hadn’t had their tax-exempt status revoked. The committee letter calls her actions “an aggressive and improper pursuit of Crossroads by Lerner, but no evidence she directed review of similarly situated left-leaning groups.”

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day.
