Panic: Desperate Democrats Propose Law
to Restore Obama´s "Keep Your Plan" Pledge

The firestorm over President Obama´s "you can keep your plan" lie now threatens to singe vulnerable Democrats next year, so they´re springing into action to try to force the administration to keep its word. Louisiana´s Mary Landrieu -- an ardent Obamacare supporter -- is scrambling to undo one of the obvious consequences of a law she´s voted to pass, fund, and retain: Sen. Mary Landrieu said Wednesday she would propose legislation to ensure all Americans could keep their existing insurance coverage under Obamacare, a fresh sign of the political problems the law’s rollout has created for congressional Democrats. Landrieu, a Democrat

How is this going to work? Insurance companies get a waiver for plans that don´t meet ACA standards? Or will they just be forced to keep rates the same and continue coverage with whatever enhancements the ACA mandates, and the government (read: taxpayers) will make up the difference in cost?

Clear proof, as if we needed it, that the Dems who voted for his monstrosity had no idea what was in it. Letting people keep their old insurance undermines the whole premise of Obamacare. If they can´t force everyone into their comprehensive coverage, there´s no one to pay for all the freeloaders. They are simply looking for one nugget that they can wave in front of their mind-numbed constituents to say "hey, we´re looking out for you." And if GOPers oppose this ruse, it´s another hammer to hit us with.

Please God that they stay that way until November 2014.

Or maybe 2016.

Most private insurance companies will be out of business before the losers in Congress can pass anything. Net result: 16 million LESS people have health insurance than before and millions are signed up for Medicaid. Mission Accomplished.

It´s beyond cynical. It´s criminal and here´s why:

...she would either offer her own bill or formally sign onto another measure that would ensure that the law would not force anyone off of their existing health policies.

How can everyone "keep their plan" if the insurance companies are FORCED to drop the insured due to non-compliance with Obamacare laws?

They can pass all the laws they want about how people can keep their plans and keep their doctors, but if the plans and the doctors are NOT THERE, how does a person "keep their plan"?

Sorry. Another lie for Obama´s sake isn´t going to fix this unless the insurance companies themselves do not have to comply with Obamacare´s new regulations, and that is what needs to be eliminated, which means the elimination of Obamacare and the Democrats are not about to do that.

This is like a stay of execution until after the election of 2014 and then 2016.
What will they call the bill? We won´t screw you now but we will screw you later when you re-elect us.
This monstrosity called Obamacare has so many holes in it the scrap yard is the only place for it.
Mary Landrieu is sweating buckshot after she voted for this. It´s time the little Louisiana piggy has some worries.

The democrats are trying with great success to screw up the entire health insurance industry to bring down the whole thing. If Obamacare stands the way it is people will be forced to buy expensive products they can´t afford and will be clamouring for single payer. If changes are made to Obamacare and people aren´t forced to give up their plans the health insurance industry will collapse under the weight of not enough people signed up to carry the monstrosity. They either have to raise the rates on their customers to carry the people government has forced them to cover or they will go bankrupt thereby providing no one with insurance. It´s a win/win for the Obamabots. Government will step in with none other than, you guessed it, single payer. Where is the relief for the American people? If Obama has his way it will be government run health care for all with a massive tax increase to pay for it.

I suggest they call it the "You Can Keep Your Plan Even Though It´s Not There Any More And There Are No Doctors Left Who Will Take It Act".

This is exactly how central planning worked in the USSR. The only thing missing is the food shortages. That comes next.

Make them read the entire ACA law and all of its regulations on the floor of the House and Senate before voting on changing it. Mandatory attendance. That should keep them from doing any more harm to the nation for a few weeks.

Insurance Companies like Blue Cross Blue Shield have been working like mad to update their systems and policies to comply with the new law. It has been difficult and expensive. They KNEW what was in the law and what they were being required to do (unlike the people who voted for it).

If THIS bill were to pass, they would NOT have time to reinstate those plans OR their systems. It would be like Healthcare.gov all over again.

It is too late for this STUPID bill to do anything but make matters worse. Democrats own this mess and the impact on the economy.

This presents a challenge to the GOP that, as usual, they will probably fumble.

If the GOP supports this type of bill, they lessen the ´hurt´ of ObamaCare and help the control freaks, otherwise known as The Liberal/Progressive/Commie/Fascist Party.

AKA: The DemoCraps.

If they oppose it, they will be accused of hurting the people that ObamaCare is hurting.

Typical GOP Lose/Lose quandary that will be amplified by the MSM.

But if GOP leadership falls out of character and stands on principle and tells the DemoCraps that they will have to Live or Die by the abortion that they forced on the American people, then this will be a Win/Win for them in that more conservatives may get off their butts and go to the pols next time and vote the DemoCraps out of control of the senate.

I suggest they offer a compromise and push the DemoCraps to support an absolute delay in all ObamaCare mandates until the symbolic date of April 15th, 2015.

By then, a GOP controlled house and senate can play with that POS in the WH as if he was a puck on an air table.

This would never happen but, just as with Cruz´s 21 hour filibuster, the resulting debate and focus by the MSM will hurt Obama by, ´A Political Death By a Thousand Knife Cuts´!

We must trust the TeaParty conservatives in the house and senate to keep tripping up both GOP leadership and the DemoCraps and support individual conservative candidates as best as our checkbooks will allow.

The senators are mixed up here- or else I am. It isn´t that people are being canceled; it´s that POLICIES are being canceled. What good does it do to say people can stay on their plans if the plan is already on the scrap heap? I am one of those affected by this. I am tired of being a punching bag and used as a political tool. I can´t help but wonder if Sen Johnson is doing this just to give the Dems a way to save face. After all, closing the barn door after the horse is gone does what? If this bill isn´t fast tracked through both houses and get signed at the white house I´ll be surprised. THEY know it´s worthless... (sigh).... I am so tired of being used as a political tool...

The dems can pontificate all they want but BO will never sign such a bill. He cannot. He desperately needs the 10 million people being kicked off their current insurance to be signed up for BOCare to subsidize all the goodies he packing into his "signature achievement". SOMEONE has to pay for covering kids till 25, no denial for preexisting conditions, mental health coverage, birth control coverage, etc.

This outcome is not an accident. It was designed to work this way because it was the only possible way the money might be worked out (but it won´t work anyway). Unless BO and his advisors are morons they knew this. HHS wrote regulations that made sure of it. So BO lied or is terminally disconnected from reality, as suggested by Dr. K.

FTA: "...Sen. Mary Landrieu ... would propose legislation to insure that all Americans could keep their existing insurance under Obamacare ..."

Since every insurance plan is now under the Obamacare umbrella (simply a one-size-fits-all plan), does this mean that Ms. Landrieu is proposing that the one-size-fits-all concept of Obamacare be amended so that the single guy who is made to pay for maternity care under Obamacare can keep the present policy he has, and is perfectly content with, that does not include maternity care, be mandated under Obamacare to send a donation, in a separate envelope, to cover the cost of people needing maternity care? Methinks they think that if the whole thing just stays totally confusing, we will just throw our hands in the air and say, "Whatever". It´s always such Alice in Wonderland stuff with these guys.

I wish Betsey McCaughey - who studied Obamacare, and knows it inside out, could make a listing of all the conditions that we are mandating to pay for in Obamacare. Heard yesterday that cosmetic surgery might be a part of Obamacare. Can understand why Sebelius was trying to wiggle out of answering why she isn´t taking Obamacare. Most likely, she does not want to be responsible for paying for someone else´s nose job.

This is a great opportunity for Republicans. If the democrats hit them up for a freebie, a vote to patch up the failed grade school project that is Obamacare, they should remind them of what the democrats did/said during the debt limit debate. This would be calling repubs/conservatives, terrorists, hostage takers, gun to the head, etc. Tell them, "sorry but after that crass, partisan display and bottom feeding behavior, the answer is no. Nancy went around bragging she didn´t know what was in it-well now you do know. Maybe if you win back the house in 2014, otherwise the answer is no. You passed Obamacare on a dominant party line, so modify it on a dominant party line. Maybe you´ll get it right one day".
Throw them a bone and tell them the only help they get is full, unconditional repeal, otherwise go eat some cake because the chickens are coming home to roost. American anger has consequences, just like they boasted re 2012 election. Don´t worry about the political fallout, what people think-stay on target, objective.

It´s too late for me and most at my big corporate company. The insurance plan that most of us had did not meet ACA requirements so the insurance company told us it had to change but that change is illegal under ACA so the policy has to no longer be offered. We have been forced to move to another one we don´t like as much.

Since the rule is that no plan can change because if it changes it has to be cancelled and then you have to go to ACA, how can any existing plan survive? Eventually something has to change about a plan. So won´t that mean that eventually all plans will be cancelled and everything goes to the ACA.

As this mess goes forward, it´s becoming clearer and clearer to a lot of Americans that one major goal of Obozocare is to rope younger people into paying in the system and get rid of the elder (death panels). After all, in their minds, the elderly do not contribute anything to the country anymore. And as a former Colorado governor stated, they have an obligation to just die off. And that would mean far fewer on Medicare, thus saving billions. (I´ve nearly become a conspiracy freak). But, I don´t put ANYTHING against the dims.

Any delay of this Obama Care fiasco beyond the 2014 election is only going to hurt the Republicans in the long run. In order to get enough people to vote against the Obama Care hucksters in Congress they must first feel the pain of Obama Care by both loosing health care insurance and paying much higher taxes. Obama is not going to sign any last minute bill that will change Obama Care or lower the amount of associated taxes and he will be in the White House until January 2017.

The liberal Democrats are looking at the country in the long term and expect to be in power indefinitely both in the Executive branch and in the Congress. Through their special path to citizenship procedures included in their so-called immigration reform bill, if it gets passed, the Democrats know that in the years ahead that they stand to absolutely gain tens of millions of new foreign born voters by legalizing just about the entire illegal alien population which may well number in reality about 20 million mostly poor, generally uneducated, and unskilled people and greatly expanding the normal immigration process to allow into the USA an estimated 30 million new foreign workers, who will mostly also be poor, generally uneducated, and unskilled with all the above foreigners and their family members granted complete access to the legal US labor market. With such a massive change in voter demographics consisting of mostly a class of foreign born people who have voted about 85% for the Democrats in the past, it is clear that the Republicans will have about zero chance of ever winning future national elections and will remain but a distinct minority in the Congress.

I don´t see a good way to fix this. Most plans that could have been grandfathered do not follow the provisions of Obamacare and must therefore be canceled. People who purchase private policies are the ones being affected right now.

And those people who are fat and happy on their employer-sponsored plans have about a year until their plans will have to be changed to match the Obamacare requirements or be dropped by employers who can no longer afford them. It will interesting to see Mr. Obama and the Democrats twist slowly in the wind of trying to fix the unfixable.

#38, death panels killing off the older cohort of Americans would serve two ends: it would save money on health care, and it would decimate the population who remember the truth of this country´s founding, and what our Constitution means.

Remember, it´s the young who voted overwhelmingly for Obama. The Tea Party people who demonstrated were mostly older.

Months ago Idaho Blue cross asked if we can keep your advantage coverage as unchanged as possible will you remain a member. Since such a program leaves my cash in the bank until i need care and a supplement steals it all in premiums -- the answer was YES.
So 2014 will raise moderately premiums and add a one time only meds deductible and cap the out of pocket at 2013 level. That is still thousands less than a pay up front supplement.
Only one bad is still a factor -- preferred and non preferred brands of meds.
Unless i change insulin brand i will face a co-pay more than double the preferred brand. That is probably because brand 2 made a discount deal.

An apparently well informed health insurance professional was on the Fox News Megyn Kelly show last night saying that 93 million employer plans will be at risk of being cancelled on January 1, 2014 due to a very tight Obama Care regulation written by HHS that requires the insurance companies to either bring them into compliance with Obama Care or cancel them. If those plans are cancelled, and all those people loose their health care insurance because of Obama Care, you have to figure that the Democrats will disingenuously blame the insurance companies, the Republicans, and probably G.W. Bush, but you can´t fool all the people all the time, and thus the Democrats will probably suffer severe losses in the 2014 election if the Republican candidates don´t allow the liberal media to sucker them into talking about being against abortion, birth control pills, claiming that rape is not always a crime, and coming out against the homosexual agenda, social items that belong within the purview of the States, and that have little or nothing to do with being a US Representative or a US Senator in this day and age.

I bet there is an army of Republicans right now writing a new Healthcare bill...
one that leaves the current insurance companies alone,
and (moderately) subsidizes companies that were killed if they want to rebuild,
one that institutes tort reform (thus reducing medical bills for patients by reducing malpractice insurance costs for doctors),
one that includes transportability (which will result in the public being offered leaner and better insurance companies),
and one that slashes useless (non-related) expenditures out of the budget in order to finance the recovery from ObamaCare.

Once we have recovery, Congress can consider something to help people with pre-existing conditions, to help illegals by providing them with a bus ticket home, and to generally address problems a minority of Americans were encountering with the old insurance system.

One of the hallmarks of the Obama administration is that it is among the most corrupt administrations in living memory. The degree of corruption and thuggery to which many administration members have stooped would make even Boss Tweed of Tammany Hall fame blush. But what’s truly remarkable about the Obama administration is that its corruption is so unabashed. Among the most corrupt functionaries of the Obama regime is Attorney General Eric Holder, who appears to be Obama’s alter ego and enforcer. From day one he let America know that he held most of its citizens in contempt by proclaiming that the American

Allow me to be as clear as possible right here at the beginning of this commentary. I don’t like ObamaCare at all, not in the slightest, in any way—shape or form. Period! Got it? ObamaCare is a Marxist/socialist/statist policy and I hate it. Vladimir Lenin, himself, said: “Socialized Medicine is the Keystone to the Arch of the Socialist State.” Ole Vlad knew exactly what he was talking about. ObamaCare warms the cockles of the hearts of all the Marxists in the Democratic Party and believe me, there are a host of them! There is NOTHING good about ObamaCare. It is a cancerous assault on

The back-and-forth drama on the House Oversight Committee has gotten heated over the past few months. Last month, Elijah Cummings threw a fit when Issa shut down a hearing after retired IRS Director Lois Lerner plead the Fifth Amendment. Issa fired off a personal letter at Cummings, claiming that he and his attorneys were frustrating the fact-finding mission of the Oversight Committee. Following revelations that Cummings’ staff was working with the IRS to get information on True the Vote, the same group Cummings tried to shame into silence through the race card, further evidence indeed suggests that Cummings was shaking down and

A bombshell revelation has brought the IRS scandal to a new level. Judicial Watch has released internal IRS communications revealing that former Tax Exempt Organizations director Lois Lerner was in contact with the Department of Justice (DOJ) regarding whether it was possible to criminally prosecute tax-exempt groups she believed had “lied” about their political activity. Judicial Watch obtained the documents by successfully filing a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the IRS in October 2013, following the agency’s stonewall of four FOIA requests dating back to the previous May.

Ann Coulter was recently interviewed by author, journalist and talk radio host Howie Carr on his program; her commentary was pure establishment balderdash. Ann may plead hyperbole, but her sentiment is readily apparent. Among the pearls of wisdom: Carr: “Who are you for, for president right now, Ann?” Coulter: “Um…well, don’t tell’em, but I’m planning on giving Mitt Romney a little more time to rest; flying out, kidnapping him, and depriving him of sleep, food and water until he agrees to run again.” Carr: “You’re kidding.” Coulter: “No” Carr: “You really want him to run again?”

House Speaker John Boehner’s top allies are racing out the door to retirement, Bloomberg News reported on Thursday. Top Boehner allies that are retiring in 2014 include four committee chairmen: Reps. Mike Rogers (R-MI) of the Intelligence Committee, Buck McKeon (R-CA) of the Armed Services Committee, Doc Hastings (R-WA) of the Natural Resources Committee and Dave Camp (R-MI) of the Ways and Means Committee. One of Boehner closest friends, Rep. Tom Latham (R-IA), is retiring this year, and another—Rep. Mike Simpson (R-ID)—may lose his seat in a primary in Idaho against conservative Bryan Smith.

During the debates surrounding the adoption of the Constitution by the several states, one commentator observed that "the government should be so small that it doesn´t matter who wins." Well, the government is no longer small, and this year, in Virginia´s Seventh Congressional District, it matters very much who wins. Republicans are not the only people in this country who are dismayed at the collapse of conviction and principle in the party’s national establishment. Gone are the days when GOP leaders would defend valiantly the principles of limited government, the rule of law, and the rights and duties of individual

The ultimate party litmus test: given a veto-proof legislature, will Republicans finally start to reduce the scope and size of government? It looks like the answer is no. In 2013, North Carolina was just one of 25 states where Republican governors were given historic opportunity to govern alongside Republican-controlled legislatures. Despite conservative voters’ best hopes, any sensible mandate to restore individual and economic freedom flew out the window when the FY 2013-14 budget was approved, reauthorizing the formerly Democratic state’s blueprint budget with a tragic 2.0-percent increase in general fund appropriations.

The danger is this: In the USA’s upcoming 2014 elections, Republican elites assume that everyone all now agrees that conservatives ‘must’ support non-conservative candidates to win more elections. The GOP is operating on the belief that everyone is on board, simply because insiders have officially decreed it to be so. However, the grassroots in the USA remains unconvinced. Worse, the Republican establishment has no plan for truly healing the actual wounds. Elites want to avoid change more fervently than they do want to win elections. Elites violated trust by advancing liberal policies in the U.S. Congress, but they won’t apologize or

Over the past year or so, Gowdy, a South Carolina Republican congressman, has drawn substantial national attention, winning adulation from Tea Party activists who like his tough questioning in committee hearings. His growing prominence and indisputably Southern demeanor have made him one of the standouts from the 2010 House class. He’s in good company. Gowdy entered the House in the 2010 Tea Party wave along with three other freshman South Carolina Republicans: Tim Scott, Jeff Duncan, and Mick Mulvaney. The four were nicknamed

Russia´s Putin has invaded his neighbor’s sovereign territory. He must and will face serious repercussions for doing so, and the international community must make the price severe. Unless we are willing to go to war for Ukraine—and I believe that would be unwise—Russia without question has the military might and geographic advantage to control the Crimea and the Russian dominated areas of Ukraine. But at what cost? Russia´s stock market is dropping precipitously and their economy is quite dependent on exports that depend on a stable Ukraine.

I live in Las Vegas. I live and breath Nevada politics. Something is very wrong. Something smells rotten in the Nevada desert. And Senator Harry Reid’s fingerprints are all over it. I am of course referring to the Bundy Ranch siege. This was a dispute between a Nevada ranching family with rights to the land in question for 140 years and the BLM (Bureayu of Land Management). The government claims they haven’t paid grazing fees for 20 years. The result was a government assault on the ranch- including snipers with assault rifles, SUV’s, helicopters, airplanes and over 200 heavily armed troops. No

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

Look, everyone loves Sean Connery, particularly Sean Connery. That’s why he plays Sean Connery in every movie he’s in. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. The guy even won an Oscar for playing an Irish cop with a Scottish accent. Talk about sexist double standards: Meryl Streep has to master foreign dialects to get her golden statuettes. Connery just has to show up on time. In economics you devalue a currency by printing too much of it. In film you

Joining the “Tom Joyner Morning Show,” Mr. Sharpton said that his message for this Easter is that “no matter what the world may do to you unfairly, no matter how you’re crucified — nailed to the cross at home, or in your personal relationships, or on the job — that you can rise if you don’t lose yourself during the hard times and the challenges.” The reverend went on to say that Christ endured so much humiliation and unearned suffering leading up to his death,

Climate change’s latest casualty appears to be fish — or more specifically, fish brains — as researchers say the carbon dioxide that’s being absorbed into the ocean is causing the scaly creatures to lose their survival instincts. In other words, the fish are losing their minds, The Daily Mail reported. The acid from atmospheric carbon dioxide seeps into sea waters, dissolves and ultimately lowers the pH balance, researchers said. The acidic waters then hamper the fishes’ sensory systems, so they’re not able to distinguish between smells any longer, the scientists went on. When the acid levels get really high, the fish lose their
