What Obamacare has cost Democrats
Washington Post, by Michael Gerson

Original Article

Posted By:BuckeyeRon, 10/31/2013 11:01:24 PM

In one of the few political jokes attributed to a physicist, Ernest Rutherford once described a public official as being “like a Euclidean point: he has position without magnitude.” With a change of pronoun, he could have been describing Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, who ignored internal warnings about flaws in HealthCare.gov, botched its rollout, minimized her involvement and blamed her contractors. Now, in congressional testimony, she has accepted responsibility without the inconvenience of accountability or the demonstration of competence. Administration incompetence is not the final word on Obamacare, but it is the initial impression.

FTA:"These last few weeks offer some hard lessons for Democrats: Those who pass a partisan health law own it. And those who believe in government are not necessarily capable of running one."

And your point? They have 95% of the media carrying their water.

They have proven they can destroy the sanctity of the voting both; precincts with more votes than registered voters. Nobody says a thing, even the so called opposition party.

The have used the IRS to punish opponents.

And they probably have NSA info on every politician in town.

Do you really think they are worried?

It´s been a big bump in the road for Democrats, to be sure, but it´s been an unmitigated disaster for the American People. The beneficiaries should be the opposition party, right? Hearty, har-har.

What the article fails to point out is that the democrats are willing to pay the price to destroy this country. They know they will have the upper hand eventually. First of all, the media will rehabilitate them. Then passing the amnesty bill will assure their rule for a thousand years.

ObamaCare was engineered to fail in order to increase calls for Single Payer nationalized system.

But - this disaster had the opposite effect. It made people question whether Govt could actually do anything much less run the HealthCare system.

While correct as far it goes, the ultimate decision is in the hands of a greatly dumbed down electorate who was stupid enough to believe BO in the first place.

The numbers NEVER worked out. It required lots of healthy young people to sign up for ridiculously priced insurance in order to subsidize the costs of the very sick in society. It was a HUGE tax increase (wolf) cleverly imbedded in private insurance (sheep´s clothing) and the people were bamboozled into thinking they were gong to get free health care. This goes along with the fools that thought BO was going to give them free housing and free cars as well.

The reality has been a shock for these dummies. "I was all for better health insurance until I found out I had to pay for it." There´s the rub, SOMEONE has to pay for EVERYTHING.

So we are left with a dumb electorate who, when promised free stuff will support those who promise it. They are too ignorant to understand how economics works. Someone always has to pay for it and when there are lots of beneficiaries, like for medical care, the costs are so high that EVERYONE has to pay for it.

Wild animals are the most dangerous when they are injured. Beware of panic stricken libs putting forth some bills to fix this mess that cost even more than the monstrosity they have already passed - or put price controls on healthcare companies.

When the media piles on against Boehner and the House because the Republicans won´t agree to buy our way out of this he better stand firm. They will try every way they can to flip this around on us including producing some polls showing the public is blaming healthcare companies instead of Obama and they should be forced to lower prices. We need some strong and savvy leadership right now.

´Eventually´ people will lose their jobs? Where have you been Michael? I am sorry to be so pessimistic, but, like others here, I have lost faith in the American people and I haven´t had faith in the media since I was about 12 years old. The sad reality is that by the midterm elections next year people will be blaming the insurance companies and insisting that single-payer is the only way to go. Mission accomplished.

It is now time for the Republicans to run TV advertisements interviewing people whose insurance has been canceled. Run these ads just like a presidential campaign. Show Obama´s false promises and the reality now playing out. Obama´s numbers and fellow democrat´s numbers will fall and pave the way for next year´s mid-term elections.

A bit of sanity here, I hope. One of the Drudge headlines this AM is an SNL skit about ObamaCare signups. When you go to the site, It has disappeared. I checked further on Ixquick and all those SNL skits have vanished. That has been happening quite frequently recently and it appears we now live in the USSR or the former Nazi Germany.

Along the same lines, since there isn´t a system of voter verification, there aren´t any fair or non-fixed elections in the USA anymore. It is time to take this to the SCOTUS. As long as elections are fixed and non citizens are voting adding to the problem, then this is no longer a free country.

There is a simple cure really. The last time I went to the DMV to take my driving and written test, at the first counter they copy your thumb print electronically and at every counter after that they re-check it. That system was put in place, because they found that people were cheating and having others take the written and driving tests for them.

The voting fraud cure is as plain as that, and computers would nail you if you tried to vote more than once. Since everyone would have to follow the same procedure, what is racist about the system. Getting caught I guess, and stiff penalties should follow.

As long as Liberals can fix elections, they will never pay any penalty at the ballot box for being flat out criminals. So, what has cheating and incompetence cost them. It seems nothing, but your freedom is compromised.

We are correct in being skeptical about prognosticating what penalty the Dem/Leftists pay.

However, there is something else in the works this time: we have millions of people with first-hand, real life experience with the heavy hand of Government, punching them in the gut. What does Gerson admit? --people have to change their plans because they don´t conform to WHAT THE GOVERNMENT says they MUST HAVE.

"Choice" has been eradicated.

Soon enough people would feel the sharp, prying eyes of this government.

Privacy is being invaded.

And call "1-800 I´m-the-government-and-i´m-here-to-help (after my morning break or lunch or afternoon break or...)" to get answers, help? Anyone who has experience with government offices knows what a joke this is.

You can´t penalize or fire or sue government workers. And with Obama(don´t)care, you won´t be allowed to find a more suitable, affordable plan.

Right now "Obama(don´t)care" is costing The Public. I have wondered when the friends, neighbors, family of Dem/Lefty politicians begin to call them and ask what the "h" is going on? Why are they losing coverage? Why is their chosen hospital and doctor outside of the covered area?

And now they´re wondering, maybe those Conservatives were right... The seeds of doubt are sprouting, even in the thin and rocky soil of Democrat brains.

Only the hard-core Left-wing Dems (i call them Dem/Lefties) have nothing but rocks in their heads; reason and reality won´t take root. Well, every once in a while, one of them might listen and think, a slim crack lets a thin stream of Light of Truth in, and a bit of rich soil made up of QUESTIONS&DOUBTS.

If this nightmarish mess enlightens or wakes up enough Dems, it will cost those working to "fundamentally transform" our Republic, the wicked traitorous BO allies.

Obama and his stupid idealistic actions will not be fixed through legal means because he is the highest authority (according to him) and he has no problem breaking the law and walking all over the Constitution. This is one of those situations where violence is the only option left and our fight will be with the lower class (called the new middle class by the media) who want us to pay for everything they do. They are not competent to wage war if they can´t even look after themselves without help. When democrats lose the lower class, their party is over.

One consolation for those suffering through these trying times, history has shown us that very few dictators ever retire from their rule and die a natural death. They are removed like tics from a dog´s back.

Look at anything that leftists run (into the ground, eventually). The USSR collapsed, China had to bring in non-ideologues. Cuba? Venezuela? American universities can´t survive without massive cash subsidies & relentless price increases. The US government will collapse from cosmic levels of borrowing. The evidence is incontrovertible. Leftists, and particularly leftist lawyers, should never be allowed to run anything.

Big time historic losses are predicted. He does not care about them. He only cares about O-care and how to make sure it says. It will say as long as it stays until it´s gotten rid of one way or the other. Democrat losses are the price they will pay on his behalf. Just an expense and cost of doing business. Chicago style.

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: I´ve gotta tell, another little thing about Nelson Mandela. Do you realize in a couple of ways, maybe even more than a couple, Nelson Mandela has more in common or had more in common with Clarence Thomas than he does with Barack Obama? For example, Nelson Mandela (even prior to becoming president, but certainly after he became president of South Africa) insisted on compliance with his country´s constitution. He insisted on it. Obama looks at the US Constitution as an obstacle and makes end runs around it every day, practically. In that sense... These are the kind of

The online insurance marketplace relays information about new customers in ´834´ transaction forms to the private insurance companies that provide the health plans. HealthCare.gov serves people in 36 states, while 14 states are running their own websites. To fully appreciate what former South African president Nelson Mandela was able to accomplish, it is necessary to hearken back to the South Africa he found when he emerged from prison in 1990, and what the country was like in those critical four years between his release and his election to the presidency in 1994. Put simply, South Africa was a violent, dangerous and heavily-armed place teetering precariously on the edge of an all-out race war. And in the early 1990s, it was entirely unclear which way the country would go. On one side, embittered white rejectionists were refusing to

Nelson Mandela was the most famous black man in history. He transcended race barriers to become an exemplar of human generosity of spirit. His towering personality made possible the peaceful transfer of power in South Africa from white minority to black majority rule. If he was less effective as president of his country than he had been as the symbol of resistance to apartheid, he demonstrated statesmanship unmatched in Africa. He inspired love as much as respect, and became regarded by hundreds of millions of people as a secular saint. More was asked of him, and sometimes claimed for him,

Former South African President Nelson Mandela has died at age 95 of complications from a recurring lung infection. The anti-apartheid leader and Nobel Peace Prize laureate was a beloved figure around the world, a symbol of reconciliation from a country with a brutal history of racism. Mandela was released from prison in 1990 after nearly 30 years for plotting to overthrow South Africa´s apartheid government. In 1994, in a historic election, he became the nation´s first black leader. Mandela stepped down in 1999 after a single term and retired from political and public life.

The victim in an early morning shooting in Walker County has been identified as Ronald Westbrook, a 72-year-old Alzheimer´s patient. Westbrook was shot outside the home of Joe Hendricks on Cottage Crest Court about 4 am. Westbrook lived about two-and-a-half miles from where he was shot and had apparently wandered away from home. Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson said Hendricks has not been charged. However he said the investigation continues and did not rule out the possibility of charges in the future. The sheriff said Hendricks heard a suspicious sound outside the house and called 911.

After presenting at the Academy Awards this year, Kim Novak didn’t want to leave her house. The Hitchcock screen siren, 81, was too humiliated to venture from her home near the Rogue River in Oregon. She read the cruel posts and Internet snark about her appearance, and it was just too much. “It got to me like it gets kids and teenagers,” she told the Associated Press. The “Vertigo” actress, considered one of the great beauties in her day, posted a note on her Facebook wall Thursday, acknowledging that she’d gotten fat injections in her face and addressing her halted

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

First, the good news: We are close enough to the end of the Obama presidency for his crowd to talk about a presidential library. Now, the bad news: Obama´s retirement is still 1,008 days distant. Plenty of time though to round up the dough to build it somewhere. Figure they need Solyndra-style money, at least $500 million. The last two presidents – Bill Clinton and George W. Bush -- built their legacy edifices totally with private money. [Snip] However, Obama supporters have a different take. They think taxpayers should put up $100 million in public money for Obama´s library.

Less than 16 hours after Chelsea Clinton announced she was pregnant, a lot of major news outlets started staring into the crystal ball of Chelsea’s womb, wondering what this currently floating zygotic multicellular being meant for the prospects of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, which is also a floating, zygotic, multicellular being. Their answer: The immaculately conceived Clinton child could mean everything. And no, it’s not just the fact that having a grandchild could be personally fulfilling to Hillary and Bill (mazel tov, by the way), or that a cute baby would be a sweet cherry on top of Hillary’s already

The first step is admitting… It was a simple question to someone accustomed to much tougher ones: What was her proudest achievement as secretary of state? But for a moment, Hillary Rodham Clinton, appearing recently before a friendly audience at a women’s forum in Manhattan, seemed flustered.(Snip)So…no definitive successes and some clear-cut failures. And that’s the generous New York Times assessment. The Democrat fantasy story about Mrs. Clinton paints her as strong and accomplished on her own. Remember when Lois Lerner, in answering a planted question at an American Bar Association conference, admitted the IRS had targeted conservative groups but tried to pass it off as the work of rogue agents — “our line people in Cincinnati”? Today we know there were indeed federal agents involved. But they weren’t rogue, and they weren’t confined to IRS workers in Cincinnati. Thanks to a Freedom of Information request by Judicial Watch, we now have an e-mail Lerner sent to colleagues noting the Department of Justice was looking into criminal prosecutions of these tax-exempt groups. We know something else, too. These investigations
