We´re hearing for the first time from a security officer who witnessed the terrorist attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, last year. U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed in the attack on the mission and a nearby annex. In an interview for "60 Minutes," correspondent Lara Logan spoke with a British citizen, who had been hired to train the Libyan guards at the U.S. mission. He calls himself Morgan Jones, a pseudonym to protect his safety.Jones says he was annoyed that the State Department wouldn´t allow his guards to carry guns. As the
The initial testimony was the Libiyan guards just melted away as if they had known about the assault ahead of time. Is this guy covering up for them by saying they were beaten and allowed to leave? He is a biased witness IMO because the Libiyan guards were his responsibility to train. They obviously failed at guarding, were they complicit as well?
The administration is dragging this out because they want "Benghazi fatigue" to set in thereby declaring this old news and urging us to move along. The despicable duo, Obama and Clinton, have blood on their hands and they know it. Obama is confident he can keep this under wraps but I believe Hillary tipped her hand when she lost it in the committee hearing. She knows she is vulnerable. Speak to the men the government is hiding and the truth may be found. How bizarre is that? Have these guys been forced into the witness protection program? Are there no patriots among them? An even more chilling thought, is the government using threats and intimidation to prevent them from coming forth? Were they involved in activities they know would be considered treasonous? There is something evil lurking behind what happened that the administration does not want to see the light of day. The confidence they have in their ability to silence these men is very disturbing.
Rinctum does it again. Imagine the force of threats heaped upon Benghazi witnesses, their families, families of the victims, and even the few that are actually investigating this blatant abuse of Obama and Hilary power.. There can be no Benghazi news fatigue.... EVER , This brutal story is growing exponentially like an atom bomb....and the day will come when it collides explosively with masses of other deceptions and many misbegotten mal careers are all ruined in the fall of Obama & Clinton. The truth will out.
Hillary has no shame. There is no way a sane person, in her position about Benghazi, would even think of running for President. The Republican opponent should have a commercial showing Hillary wearing a sleep mask with a slight smile on her face, the clock showing 3 am, numerous emails screaming for help with a split showing the hell that was going on Benghazi at that time. This Republican will have to show it the way it was and not back down.
In the final analysis, the real target needs to be the hildebeast. If she is allowed to skate on this treachery - which does not matter now, according to her - she could become President of the USA. She will have blood on her hands and then be inaugurated as queen of the USA.
One monarch was enough. We have to keep the pressure on to get rid of her, if for no other reason. Then it will matter.
I have wondered when or if Lara Logan would ever speak out in defense of our brave men left to be raped and die. She was a mob rape victim herself, but she was rescued by her comrades. It´s time she pick up the gauntlet and wave it in Obama´s face. May God bless her.
Poster #3 states that the guards "failed at guarding" the compound. If the government took the guns from your home and then a gang of 50 heavily armed thugs attacked your home, killed your family and burned the house down, should we say that you "failed at guarding" your home?!
The state department policy, which was approved by hillary is the root cause of this disaster.
Lara Logan is an excellent reporter. It is hoped that this is just the first of many reports to come.
Not allowing hired guards to have guns is akin to not allowing a hired surgeon to have a scalpel or a hired pilot to have an airplane. The directive to deny arms was pure ineptness and malfeasance and sits squarely at the feet of former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.
If such deplorable incompetence hadn’t resulted in four deaths and multiple injuries, it would have been laughable. As it was in actuality, her professional incompetence was murderous, horrifying, and unpardonable.
During a segment of The View Thursday morning, host Barbara Walters expressed her concerns over politicians swearing on a Bible upon taking office, noting the importance of “the separation of church and state” as an American value. The comments came up as the View crew discussed Sen. Mark Pryor‘s (D-AR) new political ad apologizing for his Obamacare support as well as insisting that the Bible should be a guiding presence in politics. After playing the ad, actress Jane Seymour told her hosts that “I think it’s really unfortunate when you have to bring religion into politics. I think religion is
Democrats have justifiably rejoiced in the divisions within the Republican Party which hamper its ability to speak with one voice and act with unity of purpose. The tea party faction within the GOP, once an unalloyed good that propelled the party to electoral victory in 2010, has been more of a headache than a boon ever since. The conservative faction of the Grand Old Party is often credited with robbing the party of electoral victories, torpedoing bipartisan legislative deals, and elevating gaffe-prone voices that force the GOP’s moderates to adopt a perpetual defensive crouch. The temptation for Democrats to partake
NEW YORK- The Fender Stratocaster that Bob Dylan plugged in when he famously went electric at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival sold Friday for nearly $1 million - the highest price ever paid for a guitar at auction. A buyer identified only as a private individual agreed to pay $965,000, including the auction house´s fees, for the sunburst-finish guitar, Christie´s said. Dylan´s legendary performance at the festival in Rhode Island 48 years ago marked his rupture with the folk movement´s old guard and solidified his shift away from acoustic music, like "Blowin´ in the Wind," toward amplified rock, such as "Like a Rolling Stone."
In late October, Texas Gov. Rick Perry went to Israel, not a surprising trip for a potential presidential candidate whose pro-Zionist views are well known. However, less widely known is his role in a breakthrough of sorts in academia and U.S.-Israeli relations. The Jerusalem Post reported: Texas A&M University will open a branch in Nazareth by October 2015 . . . The new institution, to be called the Peace Campus, will promote coexistence for the sake of education with a student population combining Arab, Jewish and foreign students. The faculty will be drawn from Arab, Jewish and international scholars. .
Murfreesboro, N.C.- Snow came early to the cotton and sorghum fields here, sending dozens of cash-strapped families to the food bank on a recent afternoon for frozen chickens, cucumbers and canned green beans. Quinetta Rascoe was waiting for them. Wearing a bright pink overcoat, a glittery rainbow scarf and an infectious grin, Rascoe climbed out of a Toyota sedan carrying a stack of Obamacare brochures. She eyed about 60 cars that were snaking into the parking lot behind Murfreesboro Baptist Church, prompting an unusual traffic jam one block off the town´s dozy Main Street. The food truck was late, and
Los Angeles County sheriff´s detectives allege that two men stole the t-top roof panel of a $400,000 Porsche after it crashed Saturday in Santa Clarita, killing "Fast and Furious" star Paul Walker and another man. The department announced Thursday that one man was in custody and that another suspect was expected to surrender to detectives soon. The one suspect, 18-year-old Jameson Witty, was arrested on suspicion of grand theft and tampering with evidence. He was being held on $20,000 bail, officials said. In a news release, the Sheriff´s Department said the alleged theft occurred while the Porsche was being towed away.
Washington -The young black university student who walked up to the microphone at an anti-apartheid rally in 1980 was, by his own admission, cynical about the virtues of political activism. Barack Obama had spent his early years of college submerged in books by African American writers by the likes of James Baldwin, W E B Du Bois and Malcolm X, wrestling with his own mixed racial identity. But it was the campaign for equality thousands of miles away in South Africa that first spurred Obama, then aged 19, into action: taking part in a divestment rally in his sophomore year
Elaborate funeral plans have been set in motion in South Africa following the death of the country’s revered first black president Nelson Mandela. The memorial, expected to last ten days, will be an unparalleled event in South Africa’s history, drawing a plethora of foreign dignitaries of every stripe, royals and a smattering of celebrities. South African President Jacob Zuma ordered the nation´s flags to be flown at half-mast beginning today and to remain that way until after Mandela´s funeral, which he announced would be held next Sunday. WASHINGTON— President Barack Obama marked the end of Hanukkah with not one, but two receptions at the White House on Thursday. He noted a rare quirk in the calendar that overlapped Thanksgiving and the start of the eight-day Jewish holiday. At the first gathering, Obama recognized guests who are credited with coming up with some unusual names for the joint holiday, such as "Thanksgivukkah," a combination of Thanksgiving and Hanukkah, and "menurkey," a blend of the words menorah and turkey. Menorahs were lit at both receptions. The White House said it expected about 500 people at each. American Jewish leaders and representatives
ARLINGTON, Va.- Conservative groups in 34 U.S. states plan coordinated assaults on taxes, healthcare, public sector pensions and the environment, organizing papers indicate. They also plan a strategy to push for expanded access to school vouchers to encourage home schooling, the documents published by Britain´s Guardian indicate. The newspaper published the papers in conjunction with the Texas Observer in Austin and the Portland (Maine) Press Herald. The documents can be found at tinyurl.com/UPI-SPN. The conservative strategy, organized and coordinated by the State Policy Network in Arlington, Va., includes proposals to cut public sector pensions, lower government-worker wages, eliminate income taxes,
Republican Party Chairman Reince Priebus said Thursday that little lies like the White House saying Obama had never met his uncle show President Obama is untrustworthy. “The American people are seeing Barack Obama for what he is. He says one thing and does another. He’s been lying to the American people,” Priebus, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, said in interview on Fox News’s “Hannity” show Thursday night. “These little lies, like, you know, lying about whether you met someone or not that´s been significant in your life— listen, those are big things because it goes to the character
Sen. Ted Cruz — a vocal opponent of President Barack Obama’s signature healthcare law, the Affordable Care Act — compared Obama’s exemptions of certain parts of the law to a dictatorship. “One of the most disturbing aspects of the Obama presidency is the willingness of this president to disregard the law, to ignore the law,” the Texas Republican said in an interview with Fusion on Wednesday. “You know, we were talking a few minutes ago about Obamacare. And you mentioned it’s the law of the land. If it’s the law of the land, the president shouldn’t keep ignoring the law.”
I have never been much of a conspiracy theorist. For me it was always Oswald by himself from the Texas School Book Depository and nothing in the intervening fifty years has disabused me of this notion. For the most part, I’m an Occam’s Razor kind of guy — the most obvious explanation is likely to be true. (Snip) To put it bluntly, Occam’s Razor has moved. Things that were once possibilities now seem almost certainties to me. Principal among those is that Obama’s academic records are perpetually unavailable for a reason — and that reason is most likely that they reveal
One of President Obama´s chief political assets has been his ability to excite young people like almost no politician in history. But the days of America´s youth fawning over the president are over. A new Harvard University Institute of Politics poll released Wednesday confirms what other surveys have shown in recent months: Millennials have soured on Obama so much this year that their opinion of him largely mirrors the American public´s. Even though Obama does not ever have to face another election, he should be worried about the findings for a couple of reasons, which we will dive into momentarily.
Last summer on his $100 million family tour of Africa, Barack Obama hoped for a priceless photo op with Nelson Mandela, the ailing freedom pioneer who went from prison cell to the presidency of South Africa. Mandela´s family suggested that wouldn’t happen. So, the Obamas did a photo op in Mandela´s former prison cell. Which Obama’s White House quickly tweeted upon word of the icon´s passing at 95. [Skip] But Obama was also caught staring at television coverage of Mandela’s passing, which became Obama’s Photo of the Day.
Hardly a week goes by without Hillary Clinton receiving another award. Last month she was named a “Global Champion” by the International Medical Corps, received the American Patriot Award at the National Defense University Foundation and the Hermandad Award from the Mexican American Leadership Initiative. [Snip] At this rate, if a bunch of elderly left-wing Swedes toss her the Nobel Peace Prize early on, the way they did to Obama, it will barely rate mention among all the other glittering trophies that have been bestowed on a woman whose only actual accomplishment was being married to a crooked governor with
A stunning new study unveiled on Fox News´ Hannity finds that President Barack Obama’s White House calendar records just one face-to-face meeting between Obama and his Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in the more than three-and-a-half years leading up to the disastrous Obamacare launch. The startling statistic comes from a new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) analysis of Obama’s own official White House calendar, as well as the Politico presidential calendar, and raises new questions about Obama’s executive leadership and management throughout the implementation of his singular legislative achievement. More alarming still, the president’s schedule lists 277 private
Speaker John Boehner said his party should support gay Republican congressional candidates and urged his colleagues to “be a little more sensitive” when running against women. “Some of our members just aren’t as sensitive as they ought to be,” Boehner said. When asked if he thinks his party should support gay candidates, Boehner simply said: “I do.”
In February, the Bush family’s personal emails were hacked by Guccifer, a hacker who uncovered photographs of former President George H. W. Bush in a hospital bed and George W. Bush’s oil paintings in the process. It seems Guccifer has struck again, this time targeting former President Bill Clinton and the Clinton Library. The hacker has reportedly uncovered doodles of Clinton drawing on what were, at the time, classified documents. Among the doodles is apparently a picture of a penis. The document uncovered is a briefing of the strategic measures the United States could take prior Clinton’s decision to intervene in
Amid an array of “knock-out” attacks against a number of Jews in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood, a city councilwoman pointed to the success of the Jewish community as triggering the aggression. Councilwoman-elect Laurie Cumbo emphasized that while she “admire[s] the Jewish community immensely” for its work ethic, black teens may see it differently. “While I personally regard this level of tenacity, I also recognize that for others, the accomplishments of the Jewish community triggers feelings of resentment, and a sense that Jewish success is not also their success,” Cumbo, who was recently elected, wrote in a letter. Chief among the issues
On Tuesday, The Boston Globe reported that Onyango “Omar” Obama, uncle to President Obama, says that his famous nephew stayed with him while a student at Harvard Law School in the 80s, in contradiction to The White House’s contention that the two had never met. At Thursday’s White House daily briefing, Press Secretary Jay Carney confirmed that the President had, in fact, briefly stayed with “his father’s half-brother,” as Carney described Omar Obama, and that no one had actually asked the President about it when the White House initially commented. The 69 year-old Omar Obama has been facing deportation back
The world premiere of the “Ballad for Trayvon Martin for Orchestra and Jazz Quartet” is set for tonight. Princeton University’s director of its jazz-studies program composed the work in honor of the Florida teen. Anthony D. J. Branker told the Star-Ledger that the piece is intended to “be a form of healing” after Martin’s death and the controversial court case that followed it. The ballad, which will be performed by the university’s official orchestra and jazz ensemble, is intended to be a tribute to victims of racial violence, Branker explained. He hopes that the performance will be “one that speaks to
WASHINGTON – A fourth straight month of solid hiring cut the U.S. unemployment rate to a five-year low of 7 percent in November, an encouraging sign for the economy. The Labor Department says employers added 203,000 jobs, nearly matching October´s revised gain of 200,000. The job gains helped lower the unemployment rate from 7.3 percent in October. The strengthening job market is likely to fuel speculation that the Federal Reserve may start to scale back its bond purchases when it meets later this month. The economy has now generated an average of 204,000 jobs from August through November. That´s up
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama has high praise for potential 2016 contenders Vice President Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. “I think Joe Biden will go down in history as one of the best vice presidents ever, and he has been with me, at my side, in every tough decision that I’ve made,” Obama told MSNBC in an interview Thursday held at American University. “Hillary, I think, will go down in history as one of the finest secretaries of state we’ve ever had, and helped to transition us away from a deep hole that we were in,
