That was America standing behind President Obama in the Rose Garden this week as he stammered, and droned on and on, trying to explain away the epic disaster that Obamacare has become even before it has begun “About three weeks ago, as the federal government shut down,” he began.Expectant and hopeful, America stood tall on the steps behind him for as long as she could. She was proud and gazed at the nation’s new top health care provider proudly. But as the excuses and mistruths mounted and the barrage of words rolled on and on and on, she could not
I watched it and heard him say "I gotcha" then almost blacked out myself. He is the most narcissic man I have ever seen. Wants to make himself the "hero" here when in reality, it was his droning, boring, sales pitch that kept her out in the sun.
#5 I regret having become such a misanthrope but I will provide an answer to your admittedly rhetorical question.
Drive down a busy road. Walk through a mall or shopping plaza. Visit a cinema or a ´family´ restaurant. Pay strict attention, in surreptitious fashion of course, to what people are wearing, doing, and - above all - saying and how they are saying it. You will hit the bottom of the pit of despair rather quickly when you realize the critical mass of shallow, gullible, malleable people walking this earth.
Liberalism is infantilism and our nation has been converted to a nursery where millions are literally unable to see past their next meal. It´s tempting to call these people lazy but even that implies an internal motivation to do nothing. Instead, they have become human livestock, chewing their cud with a dead eyes (one radio talk show host volunteered for post-Katrina duty and was saddened at the number of ´victims´ who did nothing to help themselves and moved only when prodded by aid workers). Beauty, originality, individuality, motivation, freedom are beyond their ken. The media enjoy a form of compound interest - air a Democrat´s outright lie then reinforce it with ´news´ stories that ´confirm´ the Dem´s falsehoods.
The fainter is nudged by the woman next to her before going wobbly. Obama turns around catching her, like Superman, right before she falls. The nudger never looks at the fainter while she is being rescued. The Obama supporters don´t seem real curious about her either. Hmm.
I´m loving this. Idiotic liberal entitlement programs have been crashing and burning for generations. Some just take longer than others. None have crashed this quickly or as spectacularly, leaving an unqualified president looking like such a clueless moron, or the federal bureaucracy exposed as so obviously incompetent. Even the brown-nose media is piling on, and Obama is unraveling before our eyes.
It still may not end well, but right now, it´s Christmas every day. And getting rid of Obama is priority #1.
#13, thanks - I can´t stand looking or hearing the won anymore and only caught word of this fainting incident in passing. I checked out youtube and it IMO is undeniable this was a choreographed faint.
1. Woman to right of fainter (Nudges) has something on her mind - looking to and fro. Couple of quick glances to fainter
2. Nudges elbows fainter in side without looking at her
3. Fainter certainly seems to have her faculties as she snaps a surprised look over to the nudges
4. Nudges ignores fainter, looks away again making a point to not notice fainter and and clearly not paying attention to the oracle and his lofty speech.
5. Fainter gets an "oh Yeah" flash of clarity on her face
6. Fainter looks ahead - a little dull
7. Obama stops speech mid-sentence, as if he had eyes in the back of his head and turns.
8. Upon turning, fainter gets the vapors suddenly and starts to fall backward (back and to the left....back and to the left.....back and to the left)
9. Superman swoops in, fainter seems to gain her composure.
10. Even with all the commotion and the POTUS turning in Nudges direction to save the fainter, Nudges refuses to glance over to see what the O is doing - even looks away (down and to the right....down and to the right).
Wow - just watched one last time to wrap up and see even before Nudges elbows Fainter she is looking at someone in the audience and shakes head "no" - looks away thinking (as if getting courage?) looks back in same direction and nods yes, looks away again in deep thought and then musters the courage to elbow fainter.
It´s unbelievable how blatant this is. Folks, if you haven´t watched this with a cynical eye I highly recommend watching it and pay close attention to Nudges....
The problem as I see it is that the people of a once free-minded country have been dumbed down beyond recognition. How has it happened? Through marketing. Marketing congeals. It brings everything to the one consistency. There is no room for disagreement. Anyone who ventures an innovative opinion, or who speaks against the prevailing PC of marketing, is shouted down.
Free-thinking is now a form of heresy in the United States.
This regime employs hundreds, maybe even thousands, of crisis actors. You just saw at least 2 right here. Dont believe a single word that comes out of these people´s mouths, nor their "innocent" actions.
He began his oily salesman’s pitch by invoking the government shutdown, as if that had the slightest thing in the world to do with the implosion of Obamacare. It is hard to know, at this point, if he is intentionally being dishonest or if he has simply become delusional. Later, he inexplicably blamed Republican opponents in Congress.
Note the adjectives, all of which have been applied generously to this POTUS since before he was elected the first time: "oily", "dishonest", "delusional", "inexplicably", "blamed" ---- his reign of terror is peppered with such descriptions, yet like the Energizer Bunny, he keeps on with his smoking trail of destruction of this proud nation.
Will no one besides us say, "enough"? After all, the Democrat Party is being damaged, too. Why are they not on board?
Does the rampaging, ego-driven, extremist agenda of one man speak for the entire Democrat Party? I thought the GOP lacked courage. It´s nothing compared to the Democrat Party´s lack of spine.
This incident is probably out of his old presidential campaign game play book where there were a series of people in the audience during different appearances who supposedly took sick and gave Obama a chance to issue some off the teleprompter comments.
In defense of the fainter she is married and she stated that she and her husband have not decided yes or no on obamacare. They simply went on the website to look around. obama is an ass. We all here know that. What is scary is that the American public is so damn dumb. And he is getting away with murder because he is an affirmative action president.
That woman, Michelle Something, the e hat becam ill, seemed like an act. She looked like Michelle from Ohio that was abused by The Creep. Obama the Healer, Forgiver, The Giver,The Coach. It is all a play. they want single payer, the LoFos and illegals, the unions, will demand single payer. Or at least the Obamanites can SAY they demand it, and we get single Payer, With the payer as the Feds. the Obama NoCare was designed to do this. ecall Tehse are the same Obamas tha raised a billion dollars f his eletcion and had a smooth rapid Hi tech, working plan there.
I finally realized what Obama could be good at...press secretary. Carney lies, obfuscates, spins, and dances, but he shows a nasty snarl, signifying that he is uncomfortable, and maybe, slightly embarrassed, knowing he is being untruthful.
Re #26. I wonder how many people have been aproached by this Admin to attend these events and replied Heck No. Then again, in light of #12 prescient comments, probably not many at all. The seduction by means of the White House; a souvenir White House Christmas ornament, some veggies from Michelle´s garden and a pile of Bo´s poop.
Obviously the Fainter missed her cue. Excellent point about Super Soetoro having eyes in the back of his head. Incredible what these people try to palm off on the public, right there in the Rose Garden. What utter disdain they have for our powers of observation and credulity.
(Oh, yes, remember the corps [pronounced corpse] of white-coated supposed-docs who rallied behind Soetoro when ACA was still under discussion?)
#16/17 notated the fainting incident perfectly. #22 references the crisis actors. Yes, I agree, they are out there in situations that would totally shock the public I they knew. #26 thinks the Faux Fainter is "undecided", I think you don´t get on stage with Obama unless you are a card carrying Obamaphobe ready to sell that firstborn to the devil. Just my take.
#16-17, I read your description of the fainting incident and then watched it (the video is linked on Drudge). Unbelievable. Totally choreographed and then performed by not-very-good actors. Thanks for the step by step explanation of what was really going on.

Rep. Tom McClintock´s 5 minute speech about the shutdown (C-Span this morning) was excellent: http://mcclintock.house.gov/2013/10/when-propaganda-trumps-reality.shtml
Here is part of it:
"What was the outrageous Republican demand that Democrats refused even to discuss during the 16-day shutdown while they ordered our public servants to make life as difficult as possible for people?
On September 30th, with the deadline just hours away, House Republicans had dropped all conditions to fund the entire government with one substantive exception: delay the individual mandate that forces people to buy policies against their will. Democrats summarily rejected this proposal and for 16 days refused to negotiate on this single point, while literally accusing Republicans of sedition.
Then this past Monday, the President’s Press Secretary made this stunning admission: the administration may itself seek to delay the individual mandate by dropping the penalty for non-compliance.
They’ve got to be kidding. For the 16 days of the shutdown, the only substantive dispute was the Republican plea to delay the individual mandate for the millions of Americans who couldn’t find or afford Obamacare policies. Doing so could have ended the impasse instantly. During those 16 days, it was clear to everyone that the exchanges weren’t working. Yet for 16 days the President and Congressional Democrats refused even to discuss the matter, while they turned their formidable propaganda machine to the task of winning politically.
Then, just four days after Republicans capitulated on all points, including dropping their single substantive request to delay the individual mandate, the administration is now considering delaying the individual mandate?
These facts speak for themselves and need no embellishment from me. John Adams once observed that “Facts are stubborn things.” As passions cool and reason resumes its rightful place in the nation’s discourse, these facts will speak eloquently and stubbornly of what happens when politics trumps policy and propaganda trumps reality."
In re#6, we got Obie twice because of the dim sheep, McCain, and the self-righteous pubbie sitting-out-the-2012-election-to-make-their-point that Paul did not get nominated and no way they was going to vote for a Mormon.
Technicians in the Washington area raced up to a month-end deadline set by the Obama administration to make the troubled federal insurance website work for a majority of users, but officials acknowledged they still faced a raft of problems that could take weeks or more to fix. By Saturday evening, technicians completed a major hardware upgrade, adding computing, storage and database capacity to their data center, said one person familiar with the situation. "There was a big install and it worked," the person said. Contractors believe the upgrades will improve the system´s performance and let it handle more visitors, but the person
The once-sleepy town of Williston sits on the confluence of the Yellowstone and Missouri rivers in the US state of North Dakota. Five years ago, Williston had a population of 12,000 and was slowly dying on its feet – an agricultural hub marked out from the plains only by the grain silos that stand silhouetted against the big North Dakota skies. The fall-out from a brief oil boom in the mid-1980s had left the town with sky-high debts and a main street filled with empty shops and peeling facades. Young people looking for jobs skipped town at the first opportunity. Today, Williston is
The CIA used a secret base at Guantanamo Bay nicknamed ´Penny Lane´ to turn some of al-Qaeda´s most dangerous terrorists into double agents, US officials have admitted.Inmates languishing under Guantanamo Bay´s harsh regime were offered cash rewards, "hotel" style rooms and even pornography if they agreed to help the CIA track down and kill fellow al-Qaeda operatives. Instead of Guantanamo´s spartan cells, they would be transferred to cottages equipped with private kitchens, showers and televisions, as well as their own patio. A handful then signed agreements to work for the CIA, under which they were released and told to hook up once
DALLAS - A winter storm system blamed for at least 10 fatal accidents in the West and Texas threatens to dampen the Thanksgiving holiday for millions of Americans traveling this week.Nearly 300 American Airlines and American Eagle flights were canceled in and out of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport on Monday due to the weather, spokeswoman Laura Masvidal said, mirroring disruptions at the air hub a day earlier. Some of the country´s busiest airports - New York, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Boston and Charlotte, N.C. - could see big delays. Icy roads led to hundreds of accidents and at least 10 deaths, half
As he climbed the political heap, a young Barack Obama roused audiences with promises to unite the nation. He was a Senate candidate in 2004 when he told the Democratic national convention, “There is not a liberal America and a conservative America. There is a United States of America.” In 2007, he declared early in his presidential run that “I don’t want to pit red America against blue America. I want to be the president of the United States of America.” A year later, after he won the Iowa caucus, he promised, “We are not a collection of red states and blue
Remember President Barack Obama´s mother? Though the airwaves currently echo with his vow "If you like your plan . . ." I keep remembering Obama´s account of his mother being denied coverage by her insurance company as she lay dying of cancer. The moving and infuriating story was a staple on the 2008 campaign trail. His mother had insurance, he explained, but when she came down with cancer, her insurance company claimed her disease was a "pre-existing condition" and refused to pay for her treatment. In a debate with Sen. John McCain, Obama said: "For my mother to die of cancer
Lawmakers began reacting late Saturday to news of an historic agreement that freezes key parts of Iran´s nuclear program. Here are excerpts from statements responding to the deal: House Majority Leader Eric I. Cantor (R-Va.):"While I await specific details of the interim agreement, I remain concerned that this deal does not adequately halt Iran´s enrichment capabilities. Numerous U.N. Security Council resolutions have called for the full suspension of Iran´s nuclear activities, so it is troubling that this agreement still permits the Iranians to continue enriching. It is critical that distrust but verify be the guiding principle with which we approach
WASHINGTON — On a sultry day in late August, a dozen staff members of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services gathered at the agency’s Baltimore headquarters with managers from the major contractors building HealthCare.gov to review numerous problems with President’s Obama’s online health insurance initiative. The mood was grim. Henry Chao, a 19-year Medicare agency veteran with no formal background in software engineering, was eventually left with day-to-day management of the president’s signature initiative.
At 9 a.m. on Aug. 22, a team of federal health officials sat down in a Baltimore conference room with at least a dozen employees of CGI Federal, the company with the main contract to build the online federal health insurance marketplace. For six weeks, the federal officials overseeing the project had become increasingly worried that CGI was missing deadlines, understaffing the work and overstating its progress. As the meeting began, one of the officials reminded the CGI employees that HealthCare.gov was “the president’s number one priority,” assured them that the discussion would be a “blame-free zone,” and then bored in.
Fear swept through Borough Park, Brooklyn, as soon as the news got out: A young man was randomly assaulted by strangers early Friday morning, and the attack was possibly part of the so-called Knockout Game. Four men were arrested, but on Friday night only one was charged and the others were released. The attack added to a growing log of reports of such crimes in the Northeast and beyond. Young assailants were randomly picking unlucky targets and trying to knock them out with just one punch. Yet police officials in several cities where such attacks have been reported said that the “game” amounted
The extremely peculiar rules governing the United States Senate just got a little less peculiar. After a historic vote yesterday, it will now take 51 votes — a simple majority — for most presidential nominations to be approved by the 100-member Senate. One senator responded with outrage to the idea. The American people, he roared, “don’t expect .?.?. for one party — be it Republican or Democrat — to change the rules in the middle of the game.” His name is Barack Obama. Sen. Obama spoke those words in 2005 about a Republican proposal to do something very much like
President Obama held an off-the-record meeting with MSNBC hosts and liberal pundits on Thursday, POLITICO has learned.Present at the meeting: MSNBC´s Ed Schultz and Lawrence O´Donnell, Washington Post economics blogger Ezra Klein, Mother Jones Washington bureau chief David Corn, Talking Points Memo editor and publisher Josh Marshall, ThinkProgress editor-in-chief Judd Legum, Atlantic senior editor Garance Franke-Ruta, Salon political writer Brian Beutler and Fox News contributor Juan Williams. The participants agreed to an off-the-record classification for the meeting, though sources familiar with President Obama´s remarks said that Williams later appeared on Fox News and cite some of the president´s remarks, which he
I have never been much of a conspiracy theorist. For me it was always Oswald by himself from the Texas School Book Depository and nothing in the intervening fifty years has disabused me of this notion. For the most part, I’m an Occam’s Razor kind of guy — the most obvious explanation is likely to be true. (Snip) To put it bluntly, Occam’s Razor has moved. Things that were once possibilities now seem almost certainties to me. Principal among those is that Obama’s academic records are perpetually unavailable for a reason — and that reason is most likely that they reveal
One of President Obama´s chief political assets has been his ability to excite young people like almost no politician in history. But the days of America´s youth fawning over the president are over. A new Harvard University Institute of Politics poll released Wednesday confirms what other surveys have shown in recent months: Millennials have soured on Obama so much this year that their opinion of him largely mirrors the American public´s. Even though Obama does not ever have to face another election, he should be worried about the findings for a couple of reasons, which we will dive into momentarily.
President Obama will cast growing income inequality and a decline in economic mobility as a “fundamental threat to the American dream” during a speech Wednesday in Washington. The speech will serve as an early preview for next year’s State of the Union address, according to a White House official, who said Obama would focus much of his energy over the next three years on the issue. “The decisions we make over the next few years will determine whether or not our children will grow up in an America where, if you work hard, you can get ahead,” the official said.
Good stuff from Jonathan Turley at today’s House hearing on executive power, although I regret that I couldn’t find a more user-friendly format for you to watch. There’s no compilation clip; you’ll have to make do with the C-SPAN embed by fast-forwarding to the time cues I give you and being patient while the vid buffers (and buffers, and buffers).(Snip)That brings us to point two: Even if Congress can’t stop Obama, the courts can. The problem there, though, says Turley, is that O and the DOJ have argued successfully in many cases that no one has standing to sue him
During a presentation at the White House in which President Barack Obama touted the benefits of the Affordable Care Act, the president declared that his signature health care reform law was not going to be repealed. This assertion led his administration members, his staff, and audience members to rise from their seats and give the president a standing ovation. Obama said that ACA opponents’ alternative to the health care reform law is to champion repeal and going back to the health care delivery system status quo ante. He specifically cited Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) who he said was asked directly for
A woman has revealed how difficult it is to eat healthily and stay full when living off an average food stamp budget. Melinda Moulton, from Huntington, Vermont, was one of 200 people to take part in the 3Squares Challenge, which saw her living for a week on just $36 worth of food, or around $1.71 a meal. Opting to try and eat as healthily as possible, Ms Moulton resorted to cheap foods like yogurt for breakfast, two handfuls of peanuts for lunch and lentil stew for dinner, all of which left her unsatisfied.´I don´t know how people do it,´ said
[Video] President Obama on Wednesday declared that addressing income inequality would be the focus of “all” of the White House’s efforts “for the rest of my presidency.” In a sweeping address that touched on raising the minimum wage, investing in infrastructure and ending tax breaks for the wealthy, Obama warned that the American economy has become “profoundly unequal,” declaring economic mobility the “challenge of our time.” “The combined trends of increasing inequality and decreasing mobility pose a fundamental threat to the American dream, our way of life, and what we stand for around the globe,” he said in an hour-long
Just over two weeks ago, MSNBC host Martin Bashir delivered a harsh piece of commentary that culminated in the suggestion that someone should “s-h-i-t” in former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin‘s (R-AK) mouth. Bashir offered an abject apology on his next broadcast, but a chorus of critics continued to demand action against the host. After a reported “vacation” for the host earlier this week, Bashir announced, Wednesday afternoon, that MSNBC and Martin Bashir are parting ways. Here’s the statement from Martin Bashir, via email: After making an on-air apology, I asked for permission to take some additional time out around the Thanksgiving holiday. Upon
Nineteen people stood behind President Obama on stage in the Executive Office Building Tuesday as the president kicked off a new campaign to promote Obamacare. One of those people, a young Florida woman named Monica Weeks, introduced Obama after telling the story of being struck with Crohn´s Disease at age 19 and receiving expensive treatments for several years that were covered by her parents´ health care plan — because Obamacare allowed her to remain on that plan until age 26. Now, Weeks said, she has coverage through a job. "The Affordable Care Act gives young adults who are just starting
A stunning new study unveiled on Fox News´ Hannity finds that President Barack Obama’s White House calendar records just one face-to-face meeting between Obama and his Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in the more than three-and-a-half years leading up to the disastrous Obamacare launch. The startling statistic comes from a new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) analysis of Obama’s own official White House calendar, as well as the Politico presidential calendar, and raises new questions about Obama’s executive leadership and management throughout the implementation of his singular legislative achievement. More alarming still, the president’s schedule lists 277 private
MSNBC has announced that Chris Matthews, Barack Obama´s most excitable fan, will be interviewing the President on Thursday´s Hardball. Fawning over the liberal politician is incredibly common among journalists, but Matthews has taken it to a whole new level. According to the network host, Obama is a "perfect," "cool," brilliant figure who is comparable to Jesus, Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy. The verbose Matthews has no filter when it comes to the Democrat, even once bizarrely blurting out that an Obama speech made him "forget" that the commander in chief "was black." To prepare you for the likely love-fest
Continued global warming poses a risk of rapid, drastic changes in some human and natural systems, a scientific panel warned Tuesday, citing the possible collapse of polar sea ice, the potential for a mass extinction of plant and animal life and the threat of immense dead zones in the ocean. At the same time, some worst-case fears about climate change that have entered the popular imagination can be ruled out as unlikely, at least over the next century, the panel found. These include a sudden belch of methane from the ocean or the Arctic that would fry the planet, as
