Ineptness of Obama
leaves America staggering

Washington Times, by Charles Hurt

That was America standing behind President Obama in the Rose Garden this week as he stammered, and droned on and on, trying to explain away the epic disaster that Obamacare has become even before it has begun “About three weeks ago, as the federal government shut down,” he began.Expectant and hopeful, America stood tall on the steps behind him for as long as she could. She was proud and gazed at the nation’s new top health care provider proudly. But as the excuses and mistruths mounted and the barrage of words rolled on and on and on, she could not

I watched it and heard him say "I gotcha" then almost blacked out myself. He is the most narcissic man I have ever seen. Wants to make himself the "hero" here when in reality, it was his droning, boring, sales pitch that kept her out in the sun.

How did we ever elect this man ?

#5 I regret having become such a misanthrope but I will provide an answer to your admittedly rhetorical question.

Drive down a busy road. Walk through a mall or shopping plaza. Visit a cinema or a ´family´ restaurant. Pay strict attention, in surreptitious fashion of course, to what people are wearing, doing, and - above all - saying and how they are saying it. You will hit the bottom of the pit of despair rather quickly when you realize the critical mass of shallow, gullible, malleable people walking this earth.

Liberalism is infantilism and our nation has been converted to a nursery where millions are literally unable to see past their next meal. It´s tempting to call these people lazy but even that implies an internal motivation to do nothing. Instead, they have become human livestock, chewing their cud with a dead eyes (one radio talk show host volunteered for post-Katrina duty and was saddened at the number of ´victims´ who did nothing to help themselves and moved only when prodded by aid workers). Beauty, originality, individuality, motivation, freedom are beyond their ken. The media enjoy a form of compound interest - air a Democrat´s outright lie then reinforce it with ´news´ stories that ´confirm´ the Dem´s falsehoods.

By Election Day it´s a fait accompli.

The fainter is nudged by the woman next to her before going wobbly. Obama turns around catching her, like Superman, right before she falls. The nudger never looks at the fainter while she is being rescued. The Obama supporters don´t seem real curious about her either. Hmm.

I´m loving this. Idiotic liberal entitlement programs have been crashing and burning for generations. Some just take longer than others. None have crashed this quickly or as spectacularly, leaving an unqualified president looking like such a clueless moron, or the federal bureaucracy exposed as so obviously incompetent. Even the brown-nose media is piling on, and Obama is unraveling before our eyes.

It still may not end well, but right now, it´s Christmas every day. And getting rid of Obama is priority #1.

#13, thanks - I can´t stand looking or hearing the won anymore and only caught word of this fainting incident in passing. I checked out youtube and it IMO is undeniable this was a choreographed faint.

1. Woman to right of fainter (Nudges) has something on her mind - looking to and fro. Couple of quick glances to fainter

2. Nudges elbows fainter in side without looking at her

3. Fainter certainly seems to have her faculties as she snaps a surprised look over to the nudges

4. Nudges ignores fainter, looks away again making a point to not notice fainter and and clearly not paying attention to the oracle and his lofty speech.

5. Fainter gets an "oh Yeah" flash of clarity on her face

6. Fainter looks ahead - a little dull

7. Obama stops speech mid-sentence, as if he had eyes in the back of his head and turns.

8. Upon turning, fainter gets the vapors suddenly and starts to fall backward (back and to the left....back and to the left.....back and to the left)

9. Superman swoops in, fainter seems to gain her composure.

10. Even with all the commotion and the POTUS turning in Nudges direction to save the fainter, Nudges refuses to glance over to see what the O is doing - even looks away (down and to the right....down and to the right).

Wow - just watched one last time to wrap up and see even before Nudges elbows Fainter she is looking at someone in the audience and shakes head "no" - looks away thinking (as if getting courage?) looks back in same direction and nods yes, looks away again in deep thought and then musters the courage to elbow fainter.

It´s unbelievable how blatant this is. Folks, if you haven´t watched this with a cynical eye I highly recommend watching it and pay close attention to Nudges....

I need a life.

The problem as I see it is that the people of a once free-minded country have been dumbed down beyond recognition. How has it happened? Through marketing. Marketing congeals. It brings everything to the one consistency. There is no room for disagreement. Anyone who ventures an innovative opinion, or who speaks against the prevailing PC of marketing, is shouted down.

Free-thinking is now a form of heresy in the United States.

This is good.

He began his oily salesman’s pitch by invoking the government shutdown, as if that had the slightest thing in the world to do with the implosion of Obamacare. It is hard to know, at this point, if he is intentionally being dishonest or if he has simply become delusional. Later, he inexplicably blamed Republican opponents in Congress.

Note the adjectives, all of which have been applied generously to this POTUS since before he was elected the first time: "oily", "dishonest", "delusional", "inexplicably", "blamed" ---- his reign of terror is peppered with such descriptions, yet like the Energizer Bunny, he keeps on with his smoking trail of destruction of this proud nation.

Will no one besides us say, "enough"? After all, the Democrat Party is being damaged, too. Why are they not on board?

Does the rampaging, ego-driven, extremist agenda of one man speak for the entire Democrat Party? I thought the GOP lacked courage. It´s nothing compared to the Democrat Party´s lack of spine.

We all here know that. What is scary is that the American public is so damn dumb. And he is getting away with murder because he is an affirmative action president.

Rep. Tom McClintock´s 5 minute speech about the shutdown (C-Span this morning) was excellent:

Here is part of it:

"What was the outrageous Republican demand that Democrats refused even to discuss during the 16-day shutdown while they ordered our public servants to make life as difficult as possible for people?

On September 30th, with the deadline just hours away, House Republicans had dropped all conditions to fund the entire government with one substantive exception: delay the individual mandate that forces people to buy policies against their will. Democrats summarily rejected this proposal and for 16 days refused to negotiate on this single point, while literally accusing Republicans of sedition.

Then this past Monday, the President’s Press Secretary made this stunning admission: the administration may itself seek to delay the individual mandate by dropping the penalty for non-compliance.

They’ve got to be kidding. For the 16 days of the shutdown, the only substantive dispute was the Republican plea to delay the individual mandate for the millions of Americans who couldn’t find or afford Obamacare policies. Doing so could have ended the impasse instantly. During those 16 days, it was clear to everyone that the exchanges weren’t working. Yet for 16 days the President and Congressional Democrats refused even to discuss the matter, while they turned their formidable propaganda machine to the task of winning politically.

Then, just four days after Republicans capitulated on all points, including dropping their single substantive request to delay the individual mandate, the administration is now considering delaying the individual mandate?

These facts speak for themselves and need no embellishment from me. John Adams once observed that “Facts are stubborn things.” As passions cool and reason resumes its rightful place in the nation’s discourse, these facts will speak eloquently and stubbornly of what happens when politics trumps policy and propaganda trumps reality."

Two years before the Boston Marathon bombing, the Russian government concealed key information on one of the killers that might have thwarted the attack, a new report charges.Kremlin officials intercepted a phone conversation in which Tamerlan Tsarnaev discussed Islamic jihad with his mother, but they withheld the information from the FBI, according to the U.S. inspector general report that comes as the one-year anniversary of the bombing approaches. Fears that high-speed traders have been rigging the U.S. stock market went mainstream last week thanks to allegations in a book by financial author Michael Lewis, but there may be a more serious threat to investors: the increasing amount of trading that happens outside of exchanges. Some former regulators and academics say so much trading is now happening away from exchanges that publicly quoted prices for stocks on exchanges may no longer properly reflect where the market is. A triumphant President Barack Obama declared Tuesday his signature medical insurance overhaul a success, saying it has made America´s health care system ´a lot better´ in a Rose Garden press conference. But buried in the 7.1 million enrollments he announced in a heavily staged appearance is a more unsettling reality. Numbers from a RAND Corporation study that has been kept under wraps suggest that barely 858,000 previously uninsured Americans – nowhere near 7.1 million – have paid for new policies and joined the ranks of the insured by Monday night.

The “Money Honey” may have moved across the street--from CNBC to Fox--but she’s still the same hyper-competitive, no-nonsense, Brooklyn-born business enthusiast that viewers have come to know as Maria Bartiromo.“I’m not changing,” the 46-year-old financial news luminary told me on Thursday as she rode back from a sit-down with Ken Frazier, the chairman and CEO of the Merck pharmaceutical empire in the wilds of northern New Jersey. “I’ve always

WASHINGTON — The online insurance marketplace in Oregon is such a technological mess that residents have been signing up for health coverage by hand. In Texas, political opposition to President Obama’s health law is so strong that some residents believe, erroneously, that the program is banned in their state. But in Connecticut, a smoothly functioning website, run by competent managers, has successfully enrolled so many patients that officials are offering to sell their expertise to states like Maryland, which is struggling to sign people up for coverage. The disparities reveal a stark truth about the Affordable Care Act: With the first open

Two CNN producers were arrested Tuesday for trying to sneak into the World Trade Center site to test its security — after The Post reported that a teen made it all the way to the spire of the world’s top terror target. Connor Boals, 26, and Yon Pomrenze, 35, made multiple attempts to get onto Ground Zero before being arrested shortly after 2 p.m., law enforcement sources said. The pair initially tried to get through a gate at Vesey and Washington streets, with a source saying they told the cop who stopped them that “if a 16-year-old could get on the site, they should be able to get in.” Next, they headed east, with Boals twice being spotted

Malaysia Airlines officials on Tuesday defended their decision to notify relatives of missing passengers of Flight 370´s presumed fate via text message, as China demanded that Malaysia turn over satellite data it used to conclude the jet was lost with no survivors. Malaysian Airlines CEO Ahmad Jauhari Yahya told a press conference that the company´s "sole motivation" for informing passengers´ family members of their findings through text message was to ensure "the families heard the tragic news before the world did."My heart breaks to think of the unimaginable pain suffered by all the families," Yahya told reporters at Kuala Lumpur International

Attorney General Eric Holder exploded at Texas Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert during a House hearing Tuesday. In the midst of questions about the Justice Department’s failure to divulge documents about the Holy Land Foundation terror funding trial, Gohmert made a side comment about how the House of Representatives found Holder in contempt in 2012 for refusing to turn over documents related to the Fast and Furious gun-running scandal. “I realize that contempt is not a big deal to our attorney general, but it is important that we have proper oversight,” Gohmert said. “You don’t want to go there, buddy! Baseball Hall of Famer Hank Aaron compared Republicans that oppose President Barack Obama to the Ku Klux Klan. Speaking to USA Today Tuesday on the 40th anniversary of his then record-breaking 715th home run, the 80-year-old Aaron said that Republicans are hindering Obama’s job performance. “Sure, this country has a black president, but when you look at a black president, President Obama is left with his foot stuck in the mud from all of the Republicans with the way he’s treated,” Aaron told USA Today Sports.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., has accused the panel´s top Democrat of prompting the Internal Revenue Service in 2012 to target a conservative organization applying for nonprofit status. Issa said records obtained last week from the IRS show communications from the office of ranking member Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., about True the Vote, a Texas-based, nonprofit conservative group that aims to prevent voter fraud. The communications at one point involved Lois Lerner, the ex-IRS official who Issa´s panel is poised to hold in contempt of Congress on Thursday for refusing to provide testimony about her

How does the Republican Party establishment choose its presidential candidate? Typically, constitutionalists accuse their establishment rivals of being moderate, risk-averse, stubborn old fools who lack faith in conservative principles. This is a soothing interpretation, as it begins from the hypothesis that the contest between conservatives and the GOP elite is a family feud. But there is another hypothesis -- less soothing, but, at least from an outsider´s bird´s-eye view, more reconcilable with the facts. This hypothesis is that America has reached a stage of progressive soft despotism in which the only important family feud in national politics is between the fundamentally

A caveat right off the bat: RAND’s estimate only runs through March 28 whereas the actual deadline for signing up was March 31st. Given the crush of traffic on Healthcare.gov in late March, many more people could have signed up over those last three days than were captured by these numbers. On the other hand, the White House was claiming six million sign-ups as of March 27. There’s no way to reconcile that with RAND’s data. One of them is wrong. Maybe both, in fact. There’s a big spike in Medicaid, just as everyone expected. There’s a less big but

Eric Holder ventured off script in a speech Wednesday to the National Action Network, the organization led by MSNBC host and recently-exposed FBI informant Al Sharpton. “I’m pleased to note that the last five years have been defined by significant strides and by lasting reforms,” said Holder at the conference of black activists, before improvising “even in the face, even in the face, of unprecedented, unwarranted, ugly, and divisive adversity.” “If you don’t believe that, if you look at the way, forget about me, forget about me, if you look at the way the attorney general of the United States was treated

A founding father of the conservative movement who is now a star among Tea Party activists is urging the GOP to choose a governor to duel Washington “insider” Hillary Clinton for the White House, saying that 2016 isn´t the best time for Sen. Ted Cruz to run. Often called the “funding father” of conservatism for pioneering direct mail fundraising, Richard A. Viguerie believes that the Texas senator is a “game changer” for the movement but that the best way to beat Clinton is with a candidate from outside the beltway. “I don´t think it would be best for the conservative movement for

As a former President of The Most Powerful Country In The World, George W Bush has significantly greater access to world leaders than most budding artists. (Snip) Art critics have pointed out that a number of the 30 portraits in the exhibition appear to be based on images thrown up by a cursory search of the person´s name in Google Images. In some cases the portrait seems to have been based on the very first image result on the search engine. Rather remarkably, even the portrait of his own father, someone who he surely could have asked to sit for him, appears to be based on an Associated Press portrait which appears on the first page of

Nanny Firefox posted a political opinion on my screen before allowing me to proceed to read the article. This message didn’t appear when I accessed a second article which met with Firefox’s political commissar’s approval. Here’s what Firefox said: Careful Now! On Wednesday, the House Ways and Means Committee voted to refer former Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution. By a vote of 23 to 14, a closed-door session of the House committee determined that Lerner’s role in the alleged singling out of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status for undue scrutiny was a criminal act. The vote was “just another attempt by Republicans to vilify Ms. Lerner for political gain,” according to the ex-IRS official’s attorney, William Taylor. In spite of the fact that the DOJ has already been investigating both Lerner and the alleged
