The media are doing a good job covering the ObamaCare launch problems. But like their coverage of President Obama´s disastrous performance in his first presidential debate with Mitt Romney, there is a partisan motive at work here. The media want ObamaCare to succeed and believe that pounding away at the site problems will motivate the White House to get the site fixed. While the tech problems are real and worth covering, so are five other ObamaCare catastrophes. But the media won´t cover those because to do so might further undermine the program: 1. Millions are Losing Their Health Insurance
Good article. I wonder if the reason that he delayed the employer mandate is because the penalty requires that the employees be able to get affordable care from the state exchange. Since the blue states are the one with the exchanges, he was facing a legal challenge of his allies paying fines while the red states laughed.
It doesn´t really matter whether the media covers this or not. It is becoming more glaringly obvious every day. There will be few people left untouched by this - even the happy campers signed up for Medicaid. Thinking they are finally living the dream of ´free´ (meaning paid for by others) health care they will find very few doctors willing to treat them. The rest of the lofo´s will find out when 1% of their gross income disappears from their tax refund. Good luck spinning that.
That 1% is just a starting point. I bet it burgeons to at least 5% within the first two years. Probably hit 10% eventually. Cruella will just write a memo; no Congress needed. Other peoples´ money are just abstractions to this gang of thieves.
You get what you vote for! The reality of Obamacare hasn´t even scratched the surface. Wait until you experience the care you receive under Obama´s glorious plan. It will be awesome trying to find a doctor or hospital that accepts you. Then you will be waiting for weeks or months for an appointment, and when you do see the doctor finally, you don´t meet the criteria for treatment and are sent home with a few pills to make you comfortable. They will, however, make sure you have a Living will, and a Power of Attorney for Health Care Purposes so there´s that. It will just be peachy.
Glad to see that this is a Must Read article. It is written in plain English so that even those who are educationally challenged can understand what is in store for them.
This is all so sickening to contemplate. Obama´s pose in the picture with the article makes me wonder if he wishes to be an Idi Amin Dada. I´ve only seen dictators pictured in that kind of nose-in-the-air arrogant pose.
The last paragraph in the #3 Catastrophe fits perfectly with a dictator and I found the word "ruthless" the exact and appropriate description of Obama: This was a ruthless move by Obama to artificially bump his all-important first-year numbers by removing the incentive for employers to offer health insurance, which cornered employees into enrolling in ObamaCare.
This is really a twofer, friends. The lofos, usually indifferent, non-voters, liberal/progressives, Obamabots, terminally stupid, in general, the ususal suspects, are learning that they were lied to. That means:
1. Obamacare is (sadly) hitting the lofos where it hurts -in their wallets. The lessons include: I thought this was a good idea, clearly I was wrong, these people lie, this man is clueless, they waste money....
2. They are learning that the media lie.
Is it time for the Tea Party to start registering voters yet?
Just posted a semantic beauty pointing out the Lenin propaganda technique of using good words against the peasants, and lucianne.com wiped it out. In one sentence it complained that all the Obamacide TV and internet billboards use the lovely word "MARKETPLACE", when this Communist forced sentence is anything BUT an open marketplace. It´s more like "buy or be arrested by the IRS and go to jail" That forced threat AIN´T no marketplace. More like a forced confession, or die. Face it, They´re forcing you to confess your own personal secrets to a totally non secure bureaucracy of thieves and commie organizers
FTA: 1. Millions are Losing Their Health Insurance 2. Premium Increases on Working and Middle Class 3. Obama´s One-Year Delay On Business Mandate Strands the Middle and Working Class 4. ObamaCare´s Effect On the Unemployed and Under-Employed 5. The Working Poor are Getting Hammered
Some of these would be more understandable to the lo-fo´s if the media explained them. But #1 and #2 are going to be up close and personal for even the dimmest voter. They won´t go away with a wave of the magic media wand. And we haven´t even begun to talk about high deductibles and unavailable providers for those who don´t just have insurance but actually need to use it.
The goal of the EPA is to shut down the grandfathered plants when a small change forces them to have their permit reviewed. Were the vision and dental requirements specifically added to the mandated coverage list to disqualify existing insurance plans? Basic expense for each are about $100 a year. If your real goal was to increase vision and dental coverage, you´d allow insurers to modify their known coverage to include a routine eye and a routine dental exam a year for a $17 a month upcharge.
If you relied upon the Los Angeles Times as your source of news, this morning´s front page headline would have left you puzzled: Obama promises to fix glitches in healthcare. Glitches? What glitches? I have read nothing about any glitches. This was reminiscent of John Kerry denying the swift boat charges. Swift boats? What swift boats...Ditto with fast and furious, and so many other major stories Ldotters think must be known by everyone.
What I can´t understand is why we are NOT seeing or hearing any ads on TV and radio that expound these points. We know that this is the truth and there is ample evidence to prove it. So why aren´t conservative groups screaming loud and long about all of this? It´s only on a few web sites, like this one, that I hear all of the lies Obozo has spouted concerning ObozoCare. I know that the MSM isn´t going to, but money talks. If ads were made and paid for, the word would get out. And I really don´t think that raising the money for such ads would be a big effort.
All of these oh so many LIARS every day roll out their drumbeat of agenda lies and feed it like kool-aid to the masses of low-information dumbasses...Blacks, Hispanics, Homosexual men and women, liberal college students, liberal white women...ponytailed, sandal-wearing, metrosexual nerds, bisexuals, trans-gendered.......bla bla bla
What have they done to our nation?
I´m getting sicker of it every day.
And they will mock and ridicule me, Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin....any and all conservatives like us because they damn well want to control our thoughts, control the message...Alinsky would be so proud.
I am so sick of liars.
We´ve got to do something, change things back, change them now....I´m so ready.
Tea party groups and fiscal conservatives wasted no time Wednesday in savaging a bipartisan budget agreement negotiated between House Republicans and Senate Democrats, drawing an unusually angry response from House Speaker John A. Boehner, Ohio Republican. All sides were rating the winners and losers in the deal struck a day earlier between House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, Wisconsin Republican, and Senate Budget Committee Chairwoman Patty Murray, Washington Democrat. The modest deficit-cutting deal had some sweeteners for defense contractors and oil drillers, while air travelers, federal workers and some corporate executives would take a hit.
The White House blasted Republicans on Wednesday for criticizing President Obama’s decision to shake hands with Cuban leader Raul Castro. “There used to be a pretty important principle, that originated in the Republican Party, I believe, that partisan politics should stop at the water’s edge,” said White House deputy press secretary Joshua Earnest. “It’s unfortunate that we did see a number of Republicans yesterday who criticized the president for a handshake.” Mr. Obama shook hands with Mr. Castro on stage in South Africa at the memorial service for Nelson Mandela on Tuesday. The U.S. does not have diplomatic relations with
FAIRPORT HARBOR, Ohio — It doesn’t take long to realize that Jim Majoros is passionate about his job, as he ponders the hue of a new hunting rifle he’s working on. “I’m going to call it ‘Persephone,’ ” he said, referring to the Greek goddess. “It’s going to be light green in color, you know, more soft, but for women who want to hunt.” Business is brisk for gunsmiths such as Majoros, who repairs and customizes firearms in this small Lake Erie beach town east of Cleveland. This year, more than 82,000 new concealed-carry weapons licenses were issued in Ohio
House Republicans appeared Wednesday to be rallying around an $85 billion deal to avert another government shutdown, brushing off complaints from their right wing that the effort would trade immediate spending cuts for less-certain long-term savings. After conducting a series of closed-door briefings and polling members during a late-afternoon vote, GOP leadership aides confidently predicted that the deal struck between House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Senate Budget Committee Chairman Patty Murray (D-Wash.) would sail through the House when it comes to a vote Thursday. The moment seemed to mark a potentially significant shift by House Republicans away
A year that began with President Barack Obama riding high after his re-election victory and inauguration ends with him in the biggest hole of his presidency. A new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds the president with more Americans disapproving of his job performance than ever before; with half saying they’re either disappointed or dissatisfied with his presidency; and with 54% believing he’s facing a long-term setback. Perhaps more significantly, Obama has seen a drop in key presidential attributes, such as being honest and straightforward, being able to handle a crisis and being able to achieve his goals. “These are
The federal health-care law is becoming a heavier political burden for President Barack Obama and his party, despite increased confidence in the economy and the public´s own generally upbeat sense of well-being, a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll suggests. Disapproval of Mr. Obama´s job performance hit an all-time high in the poll, at 54%, amid the flawed rollout of the health law. Half of those polled now consider the law a bad idea, also a record high. The survey of 1,000 adults conducted between Dec. 4 and Dec. 8 found a sharp erosion since January in many of the
House and Senate negotiators announced Tuesday evening a $1.012 trillion two-year budget deal to replace some of the automatic spending sequester budget cuts and avert another government shutdown in January. Rep. Paul Ryan, Wisconsin Republican, said the two-year plan is a win for Republicans since it reduces the deficit by $23 billion without raising taxes or sacrificing core conservative values. “As a conservative, I think this is a step in the right direction. What am I getting out of this? I’m getting more deficit reduction. So the deficit will go down more by passing this than if we did nothing,”
More than half of Senate Republicans facing reelection next year face potentially viable tea party challenges — a historically large threat to the GOP establishment that could, once again, kill the party’s chances of taking back control of the chamber. A surprise challenge to Sen. John Cornyn, the No. 2 GOP leader, emerged at the last minute before Texas’s election filing deadline late Monday, and on Tuesday a conservative group with deep pockets threw its financial support behind a radiologist, who has never run for office, in a primary against Sen. Pat Roberts (Kan.), a 16-year veteran. Many of the
The current continuing resolution on federal spending expires in January, and Paul Ryan (on behalf of the Republican House) has been negotiating with Patty Murray (on behalf of the Democratic Senate) for an agreement to set spending levels for the remainder of FY 2014. It is not hard to understand the political considerations that drive House Republicans: the Democrats have been threatening to shut down the government again, as a means of diverting attention from the Obamacare fiasco. Republican understandably don’t want that to happen. But in policy terms, today’s agreement, while not terrible, represents a step backward. Spending levels
Senator Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) was quick to announce his opposition to the Murray-Ryan budget deal: We need a government with less debt and an economy with more good paying jobs, and this budget fails to accomplish both goals, making it harder for more Americans to achieve the American Dream. Instead, this budget continues Washington’s irresponsible budgeting decisions by spending more money than the government takes in and placing additional financial burdens on everyday Americans. In the short run, this budget also cancels earlier spending reductions, instead of making some tough decisions about how to tackle our long-term fiscal challenges
Senator Ted Cruz (R., Texas) walked out of the memorial service for Nelson Mandela when Cuban “president” Raúl Castro began speaking. “Senator Cruz very much hopes that Castro learns the lessons of Nelson Mandela,” said Sean Rushton, Cruz’s communications director. “For decades, Castro has wrongly imprisoned and tortured countless innocents. Just as Mandela was released after 27 years in prison, Castro should finally release his political prisoners; he should hold free elections, and once and for all set the Cuban people free.” Earlier in the day, President Obama shook hands with Castro.
SECAUCUS, N.J. -- Forget about setting up those kegs or buffet tables in the parking lot before this season´s Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium. There will be no tailgating, according to the game´s committee CEO, Al Kelly. "You will be allowed to have food in your car and have drink in your car," Kelly said. "And provided you´re in the boundaries of a single parking space, you´ll be able to eat or drink right next to your car. However, you´re not going to be able to take out a lounge chair, you´re not going to be able to take out
When I was a kid, I knew two different Santa Clauses. The first had a fat belly, rosy cheeks, a long white beard, and skin as pink as bubble gum. He was omnipresent, visiting my pre-school and the local mall, visible in all of my favorite Christmas specials. Then there was the Santa in my family’s household, in the form of ornaments, cards, and holiday figurines. A near-carbon copy of the first one—big belly, rosy cheeks, long white beard: check, check, check. But his skin was as dark as mine. Seeing two different Santas was bewildering. Eventually I asked my father what
US President Barack Obama may have moved the masses attending Nelson Mandela’s memorial service with his stirring eulogy, but it was his grinning "selfie" with the Danish and British premiers that set social networks abuzz. In a candid moment captured by a photographer, Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt can be seen holding up her smartphone, with Obama lending a helping hand, as they pose for a picture with David Cameron, all three of them smiling broadly in their seats at Soweto’s World Cup stadium.(Snip)Mashable, the news and technology website, ran the photograph under the headline: ‘‘Dear Obama: Funerals are no place
Johannesburg - A man who provided sign language interpretation on stage for Nelson Mandela´s memorial service, attended by scores of heads of state, was a "fake," the national director of the Deaf Federation of South Africa said on Tuesday. Asked about the claim by The Associated Press, South Africa´s government said it was preparing a statement. Three sign language experts said the man was not signing in South African or American sign languages. South African sign language covers all of the country´s 11 official languages, according to the federation. It wasn´t immediately clear if the unidentified man was using a
On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) snapped at conservative groups that have come out in opposition to the budget deal reached Wednesday between Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). "They´re using the American people for their own purposes. This is ridiculous," Boehner said at a press conference with other members of House Republican leadership on Wednesday. Over the past few days, a number of conservative groups have blasted the deal because it sets discretionary spending levels in the budget higher than previous levels under sequestration. In the past three days, the influential Heritage Action, Club for Growth, Americans
The Obama State Department has finally released a second round of photos revealing the harrowing devastation wrought by a terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. The new photographs depict rampant damage to the consulate. They show charred walls, smoldering fires, Arabic graffiti defacing exterior walls, and scattered debris throughout. The extent of the damage would lead any reasonably serious person to conclude that this was a cold, calculated attack, carefully coordinated to mark the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. Unfortunately for the American people, the Obama-Clinton-Rice cabal that led to the Benghazi cover-up was
A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned. Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
A “presidential selfie” featuring President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, and Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service began making the rounds this morning, but it’s the person not included in the frame who caught everyone’s attention: As anyone with two eyes and a Twitter account has noticed, Michelle Obama does not appear amused. Of course, though a picture says a thousand words, not all of those words are necessarily true. FLOTUS might not have even known the photo was taking place. Or she could disapprove of funeral selfies. Either way.
President Obama’s job approval among American voters has dropped to negative territory with just 38 percent voicing their approval versus the 58 who says they disapprove, according to a national poll released Tuesday by the independent Quinnipiac University. That is one percent less than the 39% who said they approved of him in last month’s poll. The majority of the 2,692 registered voters the University in early December said that the president is not honest and trustworthy. When asked, “Do you approve or disapprove of the way Barack Obama is handling his job as President?,” respondents gave Obama lackluster ratings
Looks like this president can’t get away with flirting in front of his wife… It appears that first lady Michelle Obama was none too pleased with the way that President Barack Obama was acting toward Denmark Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt during a ceremony honoring Nelson Mandela, and before too long, they switched seats. This lmao! Michelle Obama vs Prime Minister of Denmark at Mandela´s ceremony. pic.twitter.com/Rq4uF9fTaZ — Stun (@TheBlogPirate) December 10, 2013
Barack Obama has arrived in South Africa to lead the American delegation at a memorial service for former South African President Nelson Mandela in Johannesburg. But his party is reportedly stuck in traffic and he is said to have arrived late at the stadium for the ceremony. [Snip] But Mr Clinton, Mr Carter and his wife Rosalynn have all traveled separately to the event. According to reports, Mr Obama and his delegation are stuck in a lines of traffic caused by tens of thousands of people making their way to the event. Mr Obama is among the foreign leaders who
The sign language interpreter at Nelson Mandela´s memorial yesterday "made up his own signs," according to South Africa´s deaf federation. "He´s a complete fraud," Cara Loening, director of Sign Language Education and Development in Cape Town, said according to ITV News. "He wasn´t even doing anything, There was not one sign there. Nothing. He was literally flapping his arms around." Delphin Hlungwane, an official South African sign language interpreter at DeafSA, told Reuters:
