In early October 1969, during my first year as a grad student at Purdue, I attended an outdoor rally featuring prominent Weatherman Mark Rudd, the Beach Boy look-alike who achieved notoriety a year earlier during the takeover of Columbia University. Rudd was on his way to Chicago, two hours north on I-65, there to help guerrilla hottie Bernardine Dohrn and the then obscure Bill Ayers lead the Weather troops on a rampage through Chicago streets soon to be known as the "Days of Rage." That rampage would leave scores of police injured and one attorney paralyzed. Rudd was looking for recruits.
Comments: Obama´s career in federal elective office began in Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn´s Chicago living room. Thus far, most Americans are unaware of his radical connections. It´s important to educate the dumb clucks who put him into office, even if their horror at his comprehensive failures is retrospective. Pain is an effective antidote to further stupid behavior.
I never understood the dichotomy of the left´s hypocrisy. How can they be against the Vietnam war while worshipping Mao, Minh, Marx or Lenin except that, as Cashill says: the truth is whatever you can get away with! Pretty much proof that Liberals just don´t think past the end of their collective noses. Staff deletes scatological references where it can. It's just poor taste and will get a poster banned.
I went to high school with Bernardine Dohrn, so I´ve been following this story for over 50 years. These people are radical communists who had a plan to cause a revolution in this country. I don´t know if Barack Obama is still a communist, but I believe that if one has such a past, with these associations, one forfeits the privilege to be our president. Meanwhile, I don´t think he can change our country to communism, but he can certainly do, and has done, some serious damage. I believe that every Congressman and Senator now know the story of his past, but the Dems want to be close to power, and the Republicans don´t want to refer to his past for fear they will be called McCarthyites. I´ve traveled to nearly all the communist countries, just returning from Albania, and North Korea and Cuba last year, seeking to find the attraction that Bernardine has to communism, and the communist leaders who imprisoned and killed so many millions. The only answer I can come up with is Power; only mentally ill people could possibly thirst for power at the expense of this country--they are all mentally ill....
Obama and his fellow travelers like Ayers always use the word, fair. Drives me nuts. Life is not fair. It is what you make it. The United States of America has been the vehicle for opportunity which allows people to pursue their dreams. That is the fair part. We all have the same opportunity. Communism offers nothing but misery and death. Study history. Millions have been killed by communism. It is a lie perpetrated by fools who believe not in God, but in the state. Adherence will bring tyranny and genocide. It always has, it always will. This is the utopia Ayers and Obama seeks to achieve.
#3, I´ve always believed that opposition to the Vietnam war was based solely on cowardice. The moral grounds on which they based their protests were merely cover. It became obvious when Southeast Asia fell to the communists and millions were murdered. The protesters cared not a whit about the slaughter, they only cared that they saved their own sorry butts.
...Obama reproduced virtually meme for meme the specific ideas Ayers outlined in a 1994 essay titled "Navigating a restless sea: The continuing struggle to achieve a decent education for African American youngsters in Chicago."
Two things: In his book,"The Audacity of Hope," Obama said, "I serve as a blank screen on which people of vastly different political stripes project their own views."
He wasn´t kidding. He allowed just about everyone whom he considered anti-American to write on his slate; Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, Valerie Jarrett, Eric Holder, Van Jones, Anita Dunn and all the other communist sympathizers he associates with. That is how he gets his ideas -- by letting the ideas of other people run his life. It´s his pattern.
When a person has no core convictions, he relies on those of others, then claims them as his own. Obama is still a blank slate, which is why he lies so easily -- he can blame the idea of others. It´s all so simple, too easy. A man of no substance of his own is a parasite in the minds of others.
And ascendant he [Ayers] is. He can call our war in Vietnam "despicable," talk about "our indiscriminate murder of millions of Vietnamese," denounce our "massive gulag," celebrate real killers like Che Guevara and Ho Chi Minh, ignore the monstrous crimes of his idols like Mao and Lenin, and still get invited onto Morning Joe to chat about his new book.
Giving people like Ayers publicity only romanticizes violence and legitimizes Marxism. Shows like Morning Joe who invite unrepentant terrorists on their shows shouldn´t be watched by those of us who, strangely enough, find home-grown terrorism despicable and dangerous.
Two, "The continuing struggle to achieve a decent education for African American youngsters in Chicago" will continue until African-American culture is changed to value education, marriage, decorum and self-sufficiency. When their music is cleansed of violence and their lives cleansed of easy drug-money and coarseness in their speech and behavior, when their education includes some moral right and wrongs, perhaps their "decent education" will come to pass. I hope it does, because right now, the black culture is lost, and that is not American.

As with the Hollywoodheads they seem to love to embrace, and vice versa, these people realize they have far more money than they´re worth. Money they didn´t really ´´earn´´ but money that was given to them as a result of inheritance, or pretending to be someone else in the fantasies of the surreal big screens they believe in.
And bravo to #11/12. Astute, insightful are articulate, as always.
Ayers is the epitome of what Leftists like Obama call "good intentions". From Woodstock and Kent State, to Obama´s feet on his Oval Office desk, this has not changed one iota. Same intentions, still disguised as "good".
Letting them get away with it is the biggest crime of all.
In Deconstructing Obama Cashill makes a compelling case that Obama´s acclaimed Dreams from My Father could not possibly have come from Obama´s essentially barren intellect, and that its similarities to Ayers´s own writings were unmistakable and striking. After wasting a year in Indonesia (and blowing his six figure advance from Simon and Schuster) with a terminal case of writer´s block, Obama dropped back, punted, and plopped a box of foolscap on the kitchen table of his friend Ayers in one of the wisest decisions he would ever make. Thus began the legend of the community organizer who would within a dozen years set an unbreakable distance record for Peter Principle-ing.
It´s a tragedy that, as I said earlier, American voters, happily existing in a fog obscuring the reasons for this dead and stinking economy and our loss of prestige and influene overseas, probably won´t start hating Obama until he´s out of power and they´re looking back on the wreckage he caused. Right now he´s untouchable because he doesn´t look the same as his predecessors, and obeisance to affirmative action requires that projecting blame for society´s ills onto Bush and the evil Republicans continue until the last drop of political blood can be squeezed out of them. And unprincipled dunderbrains like McCain will gladly play their roles in the deception because stupidity and treachery can sometimes overlap. If this nation survives Obama´s maladministration in some sort of recognizable form, future historians will look back upon the madness of Obama´s years with disbelief that a prosperous but guilt ridden society could so willingly commit seppuku.
It is very important to remember that Ayers, Dohrn, Fonda and many others were NOT ant-war, pro-peace activists. Not that there were not such people, there were. Now, whether they were right or wrong about Vietnam, never mind for now. My point is that Ayers, et al WERE NOT among that group. They were very PRO-WAR. They were very much in favor, not of a cease-fire, not of a peace agreement, but of a North Vietnamese, Vietcong military VICTORY and a miltary DEFEAT of the United States and South Vietnam.
#17 makes a great point about the radical so-called anti-war left being for war. They are anti-American, pro-Communist cheerleaders who soaked their heads in the propaganda that was being preached by old Communists in the faculty of academia for thirty years prior to American involvement in Vietnam. They were not protesting America so much a willing the Communists to victory in the Third World hell holes that dotted the world during the Cold War. They are nothing less than traitors.
I think that commie-obama let his ideology shine to quickly by trying to get our guns. I believe that woke up a lot of dems and maybe they will realize that the hippies [college trained communists] are leading their party now and maybe they will not vote commiecrat any more!!!
Any mention of Ayers and Dohrn should always include a comparison to the Boston Marathon bombers. Trying to kill or maim civilians to make a political statement is repulsive to all civilized people, and yet Democrats admire Ayers and Dohrn.
Interestingly, Ayers was up for Professor Emeritus status at the University of Illinois, Chicago, right up until conservatives began pointing out that his pro-Communist Revolution book "Prairie Fire" was dedicated, in part, to Sirhan Sirhan, the man who assassinated Robert F. Kennedy....
It was yet another disgusting fact about Bill Ayers that could not be refuted. Even the Kennedy family came out and publicly condemned him.
What a poisonous pile of excrement is this man Bill Ayers. The same can be said about his protege Barack Obama. The Chicago Annenberg Challenge furnished these men with $150,000,000 to "improve education in Chicago." Well? Where are the results? Where did that money actually go? It certainly didn´t do even one damned thing to improve education for young black students, did it?
Jack Cashill is one of the greats. Among other things, great things, one key unique fact puts him ahead of many good people, He is a history clear anti-Marxist, anti communist. We can beat all the government evil epidemic cancering today, and we can do it with the tremendous technology that is freeing up the individual leading to new knowledge like never before in history. We are uncovering these ruling rats with greater speed each year. The last desperate years of our criminal Congress and Marxian school monopolies, and our ancient propaganda media disguised in a glamorous TV format, all of this is in downturn because of the new internet information age. While watching the communist ship sink before our very eyes, keep tabs with the historically correct guys like Jack Cashill. Find a few books on Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Hitler and their propaganda techniques. See how indfluential they have been in all the bad things in Amercia (not to forget all over Europe)
"What´s celebrity sex, Dad?" It was my 7-year-old son, who had been looking over my shoulder at my computer screen. He mispronounced "celebrity" but spoke the word "sex" as if he had been using it all his life. "Celebrity six," I said, abruptly closing my AOL screen. "It´s a game famous people play in teams of three," I said, as I ushered him out of my office and downstairs into what I assumed was the safety of the living room. No such luck. His 3-year-old sister had gotten her precocious little hands on my wife´s iPhone as it was charging
Charles Krauthammer reminds a dazed American public that the Obama administration is facing not just one, but three simultaneous foreign policy challenges. (Snip) Part of the problem with the administration is that it can’t clear a backlog. Past crises don’t get solved. They get forgotten. Overwritten by the fresh news cycle. The Washington Post reminds its readers that, as we near 2014, the capture of the 2012 Benghazi consulate attackers has stalled. "U.S. officials say efforts have stalled to capture about a dozen people secretly charged in the 2012 attack on the American compound in Benghazi that claimed the lives

TAMPA — Charlie Bates, the man who muscled his way into three apartments near the University of South Florida three months ago, sexually assaulted four students and terrorized dozens of others, was under the influence of methylone, a synthetic drug common in bath salts that can unhinge the user from reality. Bates, 24, was chased down by law enforcement officers the next day and killed during a shootout on U.S. 301 just east of Tampa. The autopsy showed extremely high levels of methylone in Bates´ body, according to the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner´s Office. “The levels in his system were
We all are familiar with the urn experiment from our college statistics classes. Suppose you have an urn with an unknown proportion of red and green marbles. After being blindfolded you reach into the urn and withdraw a marble and without replacing it draw 9 more. At the conclusion of the sampling there are 10 red balls on the table. What’s your best guess about the proportion of red and green marbles in the urn? Roger Simon makes a disturbing conjecture: “what if all the marbles in the urn are red?” What he actually he writes is “What if It’s
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission biologists caught a 200-pound bear in the Longwood neighborhood where a woman was injured by a bear Monday night. The trapped female bear "closely fits the description of the animal that was involved" in the mauling of 54-year-old Susan Chalfant while she was walking her dogs Monday night. In a statement from FWC spokeswoman Karen Parker, because the bear was caught late Wednesday —within 48 hours of the incident and near the area where the woman was injured, "the decision was made to euthanize the bear." Samples from the bear will be sent in for testing,
Lee Vyborny, one of the “plankowners” of the NR-1 mini nuclear submarine recalls how Electric Boat became a victim of its own success during the Cold War. President Obama’s foreign policy clout it growing from an unexpected source. First some background. In the Caribbean, where Venezuela’s PetroCaribe diplomacy once ruled the roost, the Chavez enterprise is on the verge of collapse. The reason is it’s going broke from more competition. (Snip) It is being beggared by not only the mismanagement of the Venezuelan oil industry but by fracking. Megan McArdle explained that scarcity — artificial or natural — was OPEC’s friend. Abundance was its enemy. "As long as prices were high, all of this was fine; Saudi and everyone else were pumping a lot and taking in
According to a recent Quinnipiac poll, Floridians support legalizing marijuana for medicinal purposes by a whopping 82-16 margin, crossing all party lines. Frustrated by decades of inaction by the Florida Legislature, citizens have taken it into their own hands to put the issue directly before voters through a citizens’ initiative to amend the Florida Constitution. The question should be whether Florida wants to join 20 other states and the District of Columbia in making medical marijuana available to its residents suffering from debilitating illnesses. Instead, those in Florida leadership positions in both the legislative and executive branches are busy trying
One of the indefinable characteristics of deterrence is something called “credibility”. The credibility of a state was the confidence that if X then that state would do Y. It made things predictable. Now if the Obama administration says it will disarm Iran or stop North Korea, would it predictably do so? Iran seems to think the Obama administration will predictably not stop it. Recently Reuters announced that “Iran will pursue construction at the Arak heavy-water reactor, Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif was quoted as saying on Wednesday, despite a deal with world powers to shelve a project they fear could
Now that Americans have largely caught on that their government will lie to them to support the expansion of state power, America´s progressives are in for a rough time ahead, according to Peter Ferrara, writing at Forbes. "The second shoe is preparing to drop to shatter the world view of so-called Progressives. Coming, global revelations will demonstrate the fraud behind the theory of man-caused, catastrophic, global warming, just like the real world has shattered the falsehoods behind Obamacare. That is because the underlying reason for both frauds was the same: to expand government power. Enablers went along with the fraud in
Many commentators, most eloquently Bret Stephens at the Wall Street Journal, draw a parallel between the appeasement of Hitler at Munich in 1938 and the appeasement of Iran at Geneva. There is another, more chilling parallel: Iran’s motive for proposing to annihilate the Jewish State is the same as Hitler’s, and the world’s indifference to the prospect of another Holocaust is no different today than it was in 1938. It is the dead’s envy for the living. Dying civilizations are the most dangerous, and Iran is dying. Its total fertility rate probably stands at just 1.6 children per female, the
More young men in California rise in pitch at the end of their sentences when talking, new research shows. This process is known as "uptalk" or "valleygirl speak" and has in the past been associated with young females, typically from California or Australia. But now a team says that this way of speaking is becoming more frequent among men.The findings were presented at the Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America in California. "We found use of uptalk in all of our speakers, despite their diverse backgrounds in socioeconomic status, ethnicity, bilingualism and gender," said Amanda Ritchart, a linguist at the University of
The question all week long was this: Who are you going to believe, an illegal alien or the president of the United States of America? Obviously, if it’s a president who once went by an alias, Barry Soetoro, you go with Uncle Omar, 100 percent, no questions asked. And so it was that the White House finally admitted to another, uh, misstatement — despite previous denials, Barack/Barry did sleep on his beloved Uncle Omar’s couch in Cambridge when he first moved here to attend Harvard Law School (speaking of which, we’re still waiting to see the president’s grades and his LSAT scores). But the
How do you get your arms around the catastrophe known as Obamacare? Is it even possible? At this point, I’m not sure it is. The list of individual disasters which threaten to ruin one-sixth of the U.S. economy and what has been, up until now, the best healthcare system in the world is exhaustive, and exhausting. The examples I will identify here barely scratch the surface. First but by no means foremost, we have the supposedly new and improved HealthCare.gov. Except it’s not, even the visible part. Stories still abound of people still failing to get in or to get through the enrollment
DAVID CORN: I saw a president who remains frustrated with the political-media culture that he has to work within, and that he´s looking to rally people, students here, and supporters, and people within the media. FINEMAN: By the way, he did it the end here, today, Chris, not by defending specifics, but by explaining why he´s in the game to begin with. And I don´t know about you, he´s
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a new five-year strategic plan to improve safety for elderly drivers and passengers. Although they are statistically among the safest on the road, the number of older drivers is increasing dramatically — and with it, that group´s numbers of injuries and deaths. Since 2003, the population of older adults, defined as age 65 and older, has increased by 20% and the number of licensed older drivers increased by 21% to 35 million in 2012, according to NHTSA. Last year, NHTSA reported that 5,560 people older than 65 died and 214,000 were injured
The most curious thing of all about the November jobs report released on Friday was the huge drop in the unemployment rate — and the fact that the Labor Department chose not to disclose that the data going into that figure are under investigation for falsification. On Nov. 19, I broke the news in my column that the Census Bureau, which collects data that goes into the jobless rate on behalf of Labor, had caught one of its enumerators fabricating interviews in 2010. The culprit said back then (and to me during an interview) that he was told to do so by

Barack Obama did not tell the whole story this autumn when he tried to make the case that Bashar al-Assad was responsible for the chemical weapons attack near Damascus on 21 August. In some instances, he omitted important intelligence, and in others he presented assumptions as facts. Most significant, he failed to acknowledge something known to the US intelligence community: that the Syrian army is not the only party in the country’s civil war with access to sarin, the nerve agent that a UN study concluded – without assessing responsibility – had been used in the rocket attack. In the months before the attack,
One definition of a pathological liar is someone who lies where the truth would serve just as well. When President Obama’s uncle, Onyango Obama, was arrested in 2011 for drunk driving, the truth — that Obama had stayed with his uncle years earlier for several weeks as a Harvard law student — would have served the president just fine. No potential Obama voter would have held it against him that an uncle he had stayed with two decades earlier was picked up for DUI. Yet the White House went with a lie, claiming that Obama had never met his uncle. Now that

Although the jobless rate in November fell to its lowest level since he took office, President Obama called on Republican lawmakers Saturday to spend tens of billions on unemployment benefits that are set to expire this month. “It shouldn’t be a partisan issue,” Mr. Obama said in his weekly address. But he said the “economic lifeline” is in jeopardy. “All because Republicans in this Congress — which is on track to be the most unproductive in history — have so far refused to extend it” Mr. Obama said. If Congress doesn’t act before lawmakers leave on their holiday break, about
Many people could die as extreme weather becomes common. There will be more freak winds like the October storm, which killed four people. Heatwaves will be lethal and the sea level will rise, leaving coastal towns at risk of being swamped by storm surges. Sir Brian Heap, president of the European Academies Science Advisory Council, said he felt “obliged” to issue the warning after a new study by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. It comes on the back of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, which has killed more than 5,000 people. Sir Brian said: “Given the tragic events this
