President Barack Obama launched a ferocious political attack on hardline Tea Party Republicans yesterday, accusing them of betraying the ideals of America by forcing a 16-day government shutdown that cost the economy at least $24 billion (£15 billion). Hours after signing the legislation that ended Washington’s latest budget stand-off, Mr Obama said Republicans who had “pushed for the shutdown” had succeeded only in creating a spectacle of poor governance that had tarnished America’s credibility in the world. “It’s encouraged our enemies, it’s emboldened our competitors, and it’s depressed our friends, who look to us for steady leadership,” he said. Mr Obama said the
What really damaged our credibility Barack? Could it be your America apology tour? How about the photo of you kissing the ring of some Saudi Prince? No? Installing the Muslim Brotherhood in Libya and then Egypt probably didn´t help. But your crowning glory is when you let Putin globally humiliate you and take over our Middle East foreign policy. That´s what you call real damage Jackass.
Obama seems to think he stands behind an opaque door and no one can see what a fraud and liar he is. No, Obama is the source of America´s damaged credibility. He and his sycophant Democrat lemmings own this.

FTA - "President Barack Obama launched a ferocious political attack on hardline Tea Party Republicans yesterday, accusing them of betraying the ideals of America by forcing a 16-day government shutdown that cost the economy at least $24 billion (£15 billion)."
Wait a minute. I thought the whole idea of the shut down was to make it impossible to spend money. If we were doing away with programs, how is it we spent more on them than if we didn´t close them down? Could it be the Emperor´s transparent attempts to punish the American public so they would blame the Republicans? You know, like hiring thugs to shut down and keep people out of open air monuments that never needed supervision in the first place? Its criminal stupidity and pettyness on the part of Emperor Zippy and his minions that have damaged America´s credibility.
Could you imagine what this country would be if it had the Keystone Pipeline to support all the oil and gas that is being discovered and produced, along with government spending under control? The US dollar would be soaring, unemployment would be falling like a rock, and labor participation would be approaching 70%. The next president will hardly do anything to succeed and look like a hero. All the unemployed losers who want to live on the government dole will have to either get a job or wither on the vine.
Truth be told, the Republicans and the Tea Party folks were the ones that wanted to and did avoid the shutdown. Zero and the Dems were more than willing to have it shutdown and said repeatedly that they (esp 0) would not negotiate on anything. His spoiled brat, petulant approach to nearly everything remains in tact.
The only silver lining I see is now we can get back to all of those scandals and see if we can get to the bottom of any of them. Oops, almost forgot, the mainstream media has moved on, that is old news, etc etc etc just like the Clintons taught them....
This lying sack of excrement was putting America´s credibility on the line before he even frauded his way into office. It started about the time he stood up at the Brandenburg Gate and declared himself a Citizen of the World; it continued the first time he bowed and scraped to an Arab Despot and then proceeded to bow and scrape to every Despot he came in contact with after that; he furthered the credibility gap when he sat through speeches by several Despots ripping the United States of America apart: never defended this nation, just sat and took it.
Every move this Mulatto Despot made has been to damage the credibility of this nation, and he´s doing a fine job of. Our credibility is at Zero across great swath of the world.
I have seen many, many political cartoons from many countries of the world, putting Mr Obama into the light of truth. They are ALL laughing at him and at us for electing such a doofus. He refuses to see himself in reality. I am sick of his blaming the GOP, Tea Parties, and ME for his abysmal failures. He couldn´t even lead a parade of dogs down the street, let alone our great nation.
No, the tyrant in The Spite House caused the government shutdown. The House Republicans sent more that a dozen bills to the Senate to fund the government and the King of Spite and his brownshirt Lieutenant Harry Reid REFUSED to negotiate with the House. They held their breath, stomped their little feet, cried "wolf" and 80+ spineless RINOs raised the white flag of surrender. And I´m talking to you, Isakson and Chambliss!
How credible is the country when the Chief Executive takes 1/2 the time of his predecessor to double our national debt?
How credible is the country when the Chief Executive behaves like a petulant little child when he insists on things going his way?
How credible is the country when the media that bashed the now-former Chief Executive and blamed him for ALL of the countries´ woes cannot and will not lay the same blame on the current Chief Executive, who has brought the national debt from $10T to $17T (which is now estimated to bloat to $25T by the time the current Chief Executive leaves office).
Credibility? It´s dead, murdered in November 2008. The media didn´t do the deed, but they did supply the murder weapon.
Following his lengthy interview with President Obama, Chris Matthews attacked his GOP opponents as less patriotic than Nelson Mandela‘s opponents. Mark Levin took Matthews to the woodshed on Friday for this rather strenuous comparison. Levin said at the outset that Matthews is most assuredly “off his rocker,” and took a shot at the “conga line of freaks” at MSNBC before playing the audio of Matthews attacking Obama’s opponents. Levin called him “one sick S.O.B.” and a “little puke” for having the gall to attack any critics of the president when he and his “left-wing kooks” did everything in their power to
The White House on Friday criticized as inaccurate a report in POLITICO Magazine claiming that President Barack Obama and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius met just once since the signing of the Affordable Care Act more than three years ago. “The published report that was written by an advocate is based on a ridiculously false premise,” White House press secretary Jay Carney said during a press briefing. “Cabinet secretaries don’t regularly get entered into the White House visitors logs, [though] they come frequently. Kathleen Sebelius comes frequently, and she meets frequently with the president.”
PACHUCA, Mexico — Federal police blocked access Friday to a central Mexico hospital where six people were reported to have been admitted with radiation exposure. An official familiar with the case confirmed Mexican media reports that the six have been admitted to the general hospital in the city of Pachuca and may have been exposed to a stolen source of cobalt-60. The official, who spoke Friday on condition of anonymity because she was not authorized to speak to the media, said only one person was dizzy and vomiting, which are symptoms of radiation poisoning.
One of the patients featured in the TIME cover story I wrote last March--"Bitter Pill: Why Medical Bills Are Killing Us"--was Emilia Gilbert, a school-bus driver. Gilbert was 61 years old in 2008 when she slipped and fell one evening in her backyard in Fairfield, Conn. She was taken to the emergency room at Bridgeport Hospital, where she was treated for some cuts and a broken nose. She left a few hours later with a bill for $9,418, which included $6,538 for CT scans and $239 for a routine blood test. The charges, I found, were based on something called
Fox News Channel host Geraldo Rivera and the hosts of Fox & Friends openly mocked MSNBC and host Chris Matthews on Friday for his performance during an exclusive interview with President Barack Obama. Rivera called Matthews a “fan” of the president and the hosts dismissed the network as a place that does not specialize in “objective” analysis. Rivera reacted to Matthews’ interview of the president by saying that he has worked with the MSNBC host in the past and likes him personally. “But to pretend that Chris is a journalist, per se, I think that’s sort of artificial,” Rivera observed. “He’s a
For almost a decade now, Chris Matthews has served as a barometer for baby-boom progressives´ attitude toward Barack Obama -- from the "thrill" that went up his leg when he heard the presidential candidate speak in 2008 to the utter disappointment following last October´s debate in Denver. That´s why Matthews´ interview with Obama, which takes place at 2 p.m. today and airs at 7 p.m. on MSNBC, is a crucial one for the president, and for MSNBC. For Obama: The last time the MSNBC vet interviewed Obama, at West Chester University in 2008, it was a love-in, the "thrill" having traveled up
After the 2012 presidential election failed to go their way, Republicans were reminded ad nauseam that Barack Obama had built a winning collection of supporters and that the GOP had not. The Democratic coalition, insisted partisans both inside and outside the media, spelled potential death for the GOP and for the conservative ideology that generally underpins it. The Republican party was just too old, too white, and too male — three terrible things to be, naturally — and it was destined to be buried by demographics. As the year came to a close, and everyone tried his hand at a
It seems the Super Bowl has fallen victim to political correctness. They’ve decided to ban a pro-Second Amendment – and pro-veteran – Super Bowl ad by Daniel Defense, a company that sells guns, detailing a father who declares that he will protect his family. “No one has the right to tell me how to defend them," he says. The banning promoted this epic response from Colion Noir, a football fan, attorney - and NRA News commentator - who destroys the NFL for their hypocrisy. He adds, “This type of selective censorship is really bordering on the line of social lunacy where
Enrollment surge or no enrollment surge, the next Obamacare challenge is a big one: How will the White House make sure all those people with canceled policies get new coverage by Jan. 1? At the rate the signups are going — even with the speedier, newly functioning Obamacare website — the administration has a vast distance to travel before the estimated 4 to 5 million people with canceled policies get new health coverage.
Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio has named William J. Bratton his Police Commissioner. In returning to the job he held under Rudolph Giuliani in the nineteen-nineties, Bratton will be in charge of fulfilling one of de Blasio’s most prominent campaign promises: to end the stop-and-frisk tactics that were such a prominent part of Michael Bloomberg’s record as Mayor. But Bratton’s views on stop-and-frisk may be considerably different from those of his new boss. In May of this year, I profiled Shira Scheindlin, the federal judge who presided over the class-action lawsuit that challenged the N.Y.P.D.’s stop-and-frisk policies. In the course of reporting
In my mid-20s, I had a new bride, a plum job on Capitol Hill and, apparently, the beginnings of a cancerous tumor on my right kidney. For 20 or 25 years — the best estimate of my doctors — it accompanied me at birthdays and on holidays and at the delivery of my children. It was quiet and kept to itself. Undiscovered, it would have donned camouflage and killed me in the end. A cancer diagnosis is the experience of about 13?million Americans. Mine came early enough for surgery to make a difference. There were weeks of testing, waiting and
Rush Limbaugh´s radio tirades will have a new home on Los Angeles airwaves next year. KFI-AM (640) is losing the conservative host´s three-hour show, long a fixture on the station, to KTLK-AM (1150), which owner Clear Channel is hoping to pump up as an outlet exclusively dedicated to right-leaning chatter. The company, which also owns KFI, will use Limbaugh´s audience to anchor the new lineup for KTLK, which is being dubbed "The Patriot" and will also feature national shows by Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity.
I have never been much of a conspiracy theorist. For me it was always Oswald by himself from the Texas School Book Depository and nothing in the intervening fifty years has disabused me of this notion. For the most part, I’m an Occam’s Razor kind of guy — the most obvious explanation is likely to be true. (Snip) To put it bluntly, Occam’s Razor has moved. Things that were once possibilities now seem almost certainties to me. Principal among those is that Obama’s academic records are perpetually unavailable for a reason — and that reason is most likely that they reveal
Last summer on his $100 million family tour of Africa, Barack Obama hoped for a priceless photo op with Nelson Mandela, the ailing freedom pioneer who went from prison cell to the presidency of South Africa. Mandela´s family suggested that wouldn’t happen. So, the Obamas did a photo op in Mandela´s former prison cell. Which Obama’s White House quickly tweeted upon word of the icon´s passing at 95. [Skip] But Obama was also caught staring at television coverage of Mandela’s passing, which became Obama’s Photo of the Day.
Hardly a week goes by without Hillary Clinton receiving another award. Last month she was named a “Global Champion” by the International Medical Corps, received the American Patriot Award at the National Defense University Foundation and the Hermandad Award from the Mexican American Leadership Initiative. [Snip] At this rate, if a bunch of elderly left-wing Swedes toss her the Nobel Peace Prize early on, the way they did to Obama, it will barely rate mention among all the other glittering trophies that have been bestowed on a woman whose only actual accomplishment was being married to a crooked governor with
Speaker John Boehner said his party should support gay Republican congressional candidates and urged his colleagues to “be a little more sensitive” when running against women. “Some of our members just aren’t as sensitive as they ought to be,” Boehner said. When asked if he thinks his party should support gay candidates, Boehner simply said: “I do.”
In February, the Bush family’s personal emails were hacked by Guccifer, a hacker who uncovered photographs of former President George H. W. Bush in a hospital bed and George W. Bush’s oil paintings in the process. It seems Guccifer has struck again, this time targeting former President Bill Clinton and the Clinton Library. The hacker has reportedly uncovered doodles of Clinton drawing on what were, at the time, classified documents. Among the doodles is apparently a picture of a penis. The document uncovered is a briefing of the strategic measures the United States could take prior Clinton’s decision to intervene in
Denver - A baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex ceremony must serve gay couples despite his religious beliefs or face fines, a judge said Friday. The order from administrative law judge Robert N. Spencer said Masterpiece Cakeshop in suburban Denver discriminated against a couple "because of their sexual orientation by refusing to sell them a wedding cake for their same-sex marriage." The order says the cake-maker must "cease and desist from discriminating" against gay couples. Although the judge did not impose fines in this case, the business will face penalties if it continues to turn away gay
Amid an array of “knock-out” attacks against a number of Jews in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood, a city councilwoman pointed to the success of the Jewish community as triggering the aggression. Councilwoman-elect Laurie Cumbo emphasized that while she “admire[s] the Jewish community immensely” for its work ethic, black teens may see it differently. “While I personally regard this level of tenacity, I also recognize that for others, the accomplishments of the Jewish community triggers feelings of resentment, and a sense that Jewish success is not also their success,” Cumbo, who was recently elected, wrote in a letter. Chief among the issues
On Tuesday, The Boston Globe reported that Onyango “Omar” Obama, uncle to President Obama, says that his famous nephew stayed with him while a student at Harvard Law School in the 80s, in contradiction to The White House’s contention that the two had never met. At Thursday’s White House daily briefing, Press Secretary Jay Carney confirmed that the President had, in fact, briefly stayed with “his father’s half-brother,” as Carney described Omar Obama, and that no one had actually asked the President about it when the White House initially commented. The 69 year-old Omar Obama has been facing deportation back
Former President Bill Clinton shared an anecdote regarding Nelson Mandela and the aftermath of his impeachment Friday on CNN. Clinton revealed shortly after the “impeachment business” finished on Capitol Hill, Rep. Henry Hyde (R., Ill.) who managed the impeachment trial requested a meeting at the White House. The former president granted the meeting out of lessons of humility and forgiveness he learned from Mandela, he said: BILL CLINTON: I remember one day, oh, about a month after the whole impeachment business was over, Henry Hyde, who had run the whole show, unbelievably enough, maybe a few months after, it was
The world premiere of the “Ballad for Trayvon Martin for Orchestra and Jazz Quartet” is set for tonight. Princeton University’s director of its jazz-studies program composed the work in honor of the Florida teen. Anthony D. J. Branker told the Star-Ledger that the piece is intended to “be a form of healing” after Martin’s death and the controversial court case that followed it. The ballad, which will be performed by the university’s official orchestra and jazz ensemble, is intended to be a tribute to victims of racial violence, Branker explained. He hopes that the performance will be “one that speaks to
WASHINGTON – A fourth straight month of solid hiring cut the U.S. unemployment rate to a five-year low of 7 percent in November, an encouraging sign for the economy. The Labor Department says employers added 203,000 jobs, nearly matching October´s revised gain of 200,000. The job gains helped lower the unemployment rate from 7.3 percent in October. The strengthening job market is likely to fuel speculation that the Federal Reserve may start to scale back its bond purchases when it meets later this month. The economy has now generated an average of 204,000 jobs from August through November. That´s up
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama has high praise for potential 2016 contenders Vice President Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. “I think Joe Biden will go down in history as one of the best vice presidents ever, and he has been with me, at my side, in every tough decision that I’ve made,” Obama told MSNBC in an interview Thursday held at American University. “Hillary, I think, will go down in history as one of the finest secretaries of state we’ve ever had, and helped to transition us away from a deep hole that we were in,
