Arnold Schwarzenegger lobbies

Hollywood action star and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has been quietly lobbying key politicos for a legal loophole or a constitutional change that would clear the path for him to run for president in 2016. If allowed, Mr. Schwarzenegger would face off against Hillary Rodham Clinton, The New York Post reported. “Schwarzenegger has been talking openly about working on getting the constitutional rules changed so he can run for president in 2016,” a source said, The Post reported. “He is ready to file legal paperwork to challenge the rules.” The actor was born in Austria, making him ineligible to

No. He served a particular purpose in California, ridding the state of Gray Davis and keeping out Cruz Bustamante. He did it by pulling many crossover Democrat votes, Independents, and Decline to States. A hardcore eight Republican would never have pulled it off. Not in California.

Very important at the time. That´s enough. He should not be president. The law should not be changed.

This is not from the Onion, but is from Hollywood, no matter as they are similar in nature.

There is no way that enough States would vote for a Constitutional Amendment to facilitate Arnold who is really a pretty liberal Democrat by national standards in Republican clothing to get elected as President. They can only do that in a Hollywood movie.

What? No way, no. no. no.

I´m sure the GOP would love to find a moderate who actually has charisma and passion to head the ticket in ´16, but, this ain´t it.

His ego and total lack of self-control in his personal life (cheating on his wife with his housekeeper?? and who knows who else) would absolutely be perfect qualities to explore in a Lifetime Original Movie, but not so much a good idea for a national campaign for president.

At this point, this guy has more in common with Bill Clinton.

Our last two guys, McCain and Romney, in my opinion at least, were not only not very conservative let alone severely conservative (who writes his material?), they were wildly inconsistent with their policy positions, along with their unfortunate instinct to attack and mock conservatives while treating Democrats, their supposed opponents, much more deferentially.

The other important thing is that neither McCain nor Romney had an iota of charisma or passion. Hence their several failed tries at the presidency. We didn´t want them the first time they ran.

This notion of allowing a foreign born individual to run for president should not be taken lightly. As Mark Levin is fond of saying, we are living in a post-constitutional society. Nobody in DC or many state houses gives one wit for our governing document. Forget Arnold for a moment. I believe after the 2014 election, we will begin hearing a rally cry from the Left to allow Obama to run for a 3rd term, or perhaps no term limit for president. We don`t put limits on Congress or the Supreme Court and the Left will scream people should be able to vote for whoever they want, as many times as they`d like. Why, it would be racist for Obama to be denied the vote of the people, wouldn`t it? Obama is not fundamentally transforming the nation just to walk away after 8 years and perhaps have it all reversed. There are rough times ahead for the U.S. and the Left is going to make sure they get rougher.

After a t*t-for-tat series of delays, the United States conducted an Open Skies Treaty intelligence flight over Russian territory on Monday, a State Department official said. The spy flight originally was scheduled for April 14 but was canceled by Russia after a U.S. team for the flight failed to arrive near Moscow on time and Moscow refused temporarily to reschedule it. A Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman also expressed anger on Monday over U.S. delays in certifying a new high-tech Russian aircraft to be used for spying missions over the United States under the Open Skies Treaty that permits limited legal

Attorney General Eric Holder announced today that dozens of lawyers will be reassigned to the Justice Department’s pardon office in anticipation of a surge of applications from drug offenders for reductions in their sentences — applications the Obama administration has signaled it would look upon favorably. This exercise is another transparent usurpation of legislative power by the president. The pardon power is just the camouflage for it. The pardon power exists so that the president can act in individual cases to correct excesses and injustices. It is not supposed to be a vehicle by which presidents rewrite congressional statutes that

In the budget proposal he presented to Congress last month, President Barack Obama called for what would be the highest level of sustained taxation ever imposed on the American people, according to the analysis published last week by the Congressional Budget Office. Under Obama’s proposal, taxes would rise from 17.6 percent of Gross Domestic Product in 2014 to 19.2 percent in 2024. During the ten years from 2015 to 2024, federal taxation would average 18.7 percent GDP. America has never been subjected to a ten-year stretch of taxation at that level.

Nine people are dead and at least 36 were wounded - including six children - in an especially bloody 48 hours in the gang-and-violence-plagued city of Chicago over the weekend. Five of the six children wounded - who range in age from 11 to 15 - were shot during a drive-by shooting on Sunday night after a person in the vehicle reportedly asked if the children were members of a particular street gang. The sixth, a 15-year-old girl, was shot while riding in a vehicle in what appears to be a separate - but also gang-related - incident. In one

A coalition of investigative journalists to include the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR) recently announced a public project to map border infrastructure used to hopefully minimize unlawful crossing and other illegal activities. While the effort is understandably time-consuming and leads to frustration when clearly seeing much of the border unfenced--security experts argue the key is proper placement, rather than blanket coverage with infrastructure. The Center for Investigative Reporting’s map of a U.S./Mexico border fence, or lack thereof, offers a seeming disparity of border assets allocated—leaving viewers to assume that Texas is left largely un-guarded compared to the relative coverage enjoyed

If the Rev. John DeBonville could preach a sermon to lift the souls of churchgoers across America, his message would be simple: Stop dressing so tacky for church. DeBonville has heard about the “come as you are” approach to dressing down for Sunday service, but he says the Sabbath is getting too sloppy. When he scans the pews of churches, DeBonville sees rows of people dressed in their Sunday worst. They saunter into church in baggy shorts, flip-flop sandals, tennis shoes and grubby T-shirts. Some even slide into the pews carrying coffee in plastic foam containers as if they’re going to Starbucks. “It’s like

"No, absolutely not," the November midterm election is not a referendum on President Obama and his policies, Democrat Party Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) told NBC´s "Meet the Press" on Sunday. "[T]hese elections, particularly the Senate elections, are referendums on the candidates running," she said. Asked about vulnerable Democrats who have criticized President Obama´s flawed healthcare law, Wasserman Schultz said they are running their own race. "They have to talk about and focus on the issues that are important to their constituents. And what´s also true is, if you look at the success rate and the track record of

In an op-ed published in the Boston Globe on Easter Sunday and posted on the State Department website, Secretary of State John Kerry recalled his days as an altar boy and pointed out that he is “the first Catholic Secretary of State in 33 years.” Alexander Haig, who served as secretary of state to President Ronald Reagan from January 1981 to July 1982, was also a Catholic. Last month, I traveled to Rome with President Obama, where I was honored to meet His Holiness Pope Francis,” said Kerry. “As an altar boy six decades ago, I never imagined that I

Suppose a scientific conference on cancer prevention never addressed smoking, on the grounds that in a free society you can´t change private behavior, and anyway, maybe the statistical relationships between smoking and cancer are really caused by some other third variable. Wouldn´t some suspect that the scientists who raised these claims were driven by something—ideology, tobacco money—other than science? Yet in the current discussions about increased inequality, few researchers, fewer reporters, and no one in the executive branch of government directly addresses what seems to be the strongest statistical correlate of inequality in the United States: the rise of single-parent

References to Mrs. Clinton’s role in the policy first appeared in a November 2012 USAID action memo, which outlined how U.S. officials made a “strategic foreign-assistance
