Journalists: Obama the Worst Since Nixon

The Obama administration’s hostility toward media and efforts to crack down on whistleblowers and leakers has created “a tremendous chilling effect” on substantive reporting, the Committee to Protect Journalists and veteran reporters said Thursday. The CPJ issued last week a scathing report, written by former Washington Post executive editor Leonard Downie, Jr., on the effects of the Obama administration’s efforts to control press coverage, burnish its image, and thwart unauthorized leaks. Downie joined a panel at the New America Foundation that included Joel Simon, executive director of the CPJ, and Rajiv Chandrasekaran, senior correspondent and associate editor at the Washington Post, to

I have no sympathy for members of the LSM. They have done this to themselves. What do they think would happen if they all aggressively pursued truth from this administration ? The administration would be helpless if they ALL acted in like manner.

So the abusive lover keeps abusing but they know he really loves them and they keep coming back for more. And when the police (we, the people) show up to put a stop to it, they will defend him and attack the ones trying to help.
The well of sympathy has run dry.

And yet, they still want to have his baby... The media could not be more committed to making sure that Obama and his administration get favorable coverage. There are no hard hitting questions. Even Jay Carney rarely gets pressed on an issue and when he does he simply walks away from the podium. End of discussion. The damage this administration has been able to do to the American people is in direction relation to the media´s fawning adoration and unwillingness to hold their feet to the fire. Whining about access seems contrived. They don´t want to know anything negative about their guy and how he does business.

Baloney! FTA “a tremendous chilling effect” There´s no chilling effect the msm is supporting everything obama does! They don´t care and will not report about any of the laws he has violated. They were cheering his victory over McConnell and Speaker Boner. Let´s get real the msm is obama´s propaganda arm. Any real investigative reporting is being done by bloggers.

As noted, these same urinal-ists would vote for him 100 more times, and congratulate him on his re-election and sing his praises everywhere before they would ever ask a tough question. Perhaps the only difference is that this crop drank the Kool-Aid.

What the MSM is doing with this administration is criminal. During the 2008 campaign, there were several issues that could have buried Zero. If the MSM would have simply DONE THEIR JOB, we would have never had to suffer this "fundamental change" moron. They are responsible for Zero being elected in the first place and responsible for this "chilling effect".

With Obama, I now worry about everything, especially that this administration is selling out the U.S. Constitution in favor of Obama´s Muslim friends who want us to bow to Allah or it will be off with our heads.

If Al Gore´s internet system had been up and running in 1972, in my opinion, the full truth about Watergate would have been revealed to the world and Richard Milhous Nixon would have finished out his second term of office as our 37th POTUS...Comparing President Nixon to the undocumented communist foreign student Obama is an obscenity.

For all of Nixon´s faults (real or inflated), Nixon was probably the best RINO President ... started the EPA and actually was working on national health care plans.

So, whether Nixon was the "worst" is certainly debatable.

But what isn´t debatable is that the current group of "journalists" we have are the WORST ever. If Nixon had the RAT-infested media whores that Obama has fawning over him back then, he´d have been carried out of the White House in 1977 by the media sychophants with palm branches and high hosannas!

Carney´s treatment of Fox´s Ed Henry the other day at the Daily Briefing was an interesting example of retribution. Henry, sitting in the front row, is supposed to get priority to ask questions yet Carney repeatedly ignored his requests. Henry eventually got up and walked out.

Obama made it even clearer by ignoring all but friendly backbenchers (plus the good ol´ AP) at his so called Presser the other day. Lesson, if you don´t join the Pravda team you are ostracized. Join the team and you´ll get a WH interview.

Cheer up, kids today don´t read newspapers. They read the internet. I realize the basis for most of the comment here is drawn from published articles, but when those are exposed to ridicule they fold like a wet newspaper.

I talked to two young men the other day and they were both staunch conservatives. I didn´t bring the subject up, they did. Both belonged to the NRA and were concerned for the future of this country. Its nice to know that there are many young people like these two out there. The MSM only highlights the other type of dunderheads.

Most journalists would like to write their articles and start their next one having planted one sided propaganda. That doesn´t happen anymore. Politicians live in glass houses in todays world. Ask the Senate Minority leader if he appreciates the internet today. You might hear a few inappropriate cuss words.

That super loving chick sure made my eye balls puddle up but yeah what a surprise, who would have thought Mr Obama would be doing much more efficient and effective things than Lenin did when he started the Soviet Union? It´s a HUGE surprise to me. There´s absolutely no way anyone could have known this before the 2008 elections because so-called conservatives were too busy destroying other conservatives trying to bring out the truth regarding who Obama was, is and will always be. One problem is that many of the young journalists who suck up the most to this administration were in diapers when Nixon was president.

There was a big shift in journalism beginning in the 1990s. Print operations saw payrolls shrink due to automation while TV news shifted from being seen as public service operations to being profit centers, which meant more celebrity fluff and less hard news. One consequence was that many of the more far sighted and serious people left the field. Those who replaced them were more openly partisan and more likely to be credentialed as opposed to being educated.

What a bunch of silly whiners! Øbama is their little "Frankenstein Monster". They created him! It is the sycophantic main stream media that refused- blantantly, I might ad!- to even mildly vett Øbama. They gloried in his "Wonderful Speaking voice." They never worried about his substance or even his eligiblity to be President. Everything about Øbama was hidden from the public and it was never once demanded to be exposed by the so-called "Journalists". They wallow in a mud of their own making and now they cry about how they are so caked in it they are immobilized by it? Puhleeze!

So, the great Leonard Downie claims a heritage in journalism back to the Watergate crisis- and now- only now?, he is crying for journos enslaved by Øbama´s excess? Where was Downey and his "great investigative jourlism heritage" for the last eight years since this dirt bag Øbama has been in the news?

And why have I not seen any suggestion in the article for a media change- a response to Øbama´s attacks on free speech? Where´s that famous journalistic charge for the parapets of freedom? Instead, the ´Center to protect journalists´ merely whimpers in it´s thin soup- "Gee, I wish Øbama wasn´t so mean to us."

So do something about it, Dummy!

President Obama stood Friday with the Rev. Al Sharpton and accused Republicans of trying to keep millions of Americans from voting, in a fiery speech days after new revelations about Sharpton’s past as an FBI informant. “The right to vote is threatened today in a way that it has not been since the Voting Rights Act became law nearly five decades ago,” Obama told the annual convention of Sharpton’s National Action Network in Manhattan. Obama’s appearance represented a presidential seal of approval of Sharpton’s role as a civil rights activist, amid the new revelations about how Sharpton used a wire to record

Two years before the Boston Marathon bombing, the Russian government concealed key information on one of the killers that might have thwarted the attack, a new report charges.Kremlin officials intercepted a phone conversation in which Tamerlan Tsarnaev discussed Islamic jihad with his mother, but they withheld the information from the FBI, according to the U.S. inspector general report that comes as the one-year anniversary of the bombing approaches. Had the FBI been privy to the red-flag phone call, it would have prompted the bureau to take an extensive look at Tsarnaev, according to The New York Times. “Had they known what the

President Barack Obama is planning to sign two new executive actions aimed at narrowing the wage gap between men and women Tuesday, even as the Obama White House pays its female staffers less than men.The first executive action will be an order banning federal contractors from retaliation against employees who disclose or ask about their wages, according to reports. His other executive action will require federal contractors to submit data to the government about their employees compensation by sex and race. On Tuesday — the day advocates have labelled “Equal Pay Day” to symbolize the amount of time women have to

Fears that high-speed traders have been rigging the U.S. stock market went mainstream last week thanks to allegations in a book by financial author Michael Lewis, but there may be a more serious threat to investors: the increasing amount of trading that happens outside of exchanges. Some former regulators and academics say so much trading is now happening away from exchanges that publicly quoted prices for stocks on exchanges may no longer properly reflect where the market is. And this problem could cost investors far more money than any shenanigans related to high frequency trading. When the average investor, or even

It’s good Gov. Cuomo understands New York has a problem with cigarette smuggling. Too bad he has yet to figure out what’s really driving the problem of illegal smokes: our high tobacco taxes.Just days after a key report found New York has the highest percentage of illegal cigarettes of any state, the governor announced the creation of a new “strike force” meant to crack down.Teams from 13 state, local and federal agencies, he said, are joining to stop “the influx of counterfeit and untaxed tobacco products into New York” and nab smugglers who “evade the law and rob the state

After his health-care law surpassed the low-ball enrollment target of 7 million, President Obama staged a Rose Garden rally and zinged doubters: “Armageddon has not arrived.” At least he did not declare: “Mission Accomplished.”The country is years from knowing whether Obama’s overhaul of the health-care system fulfills the promise of delivering universal coverage. While large numbers of Americans have found the program very advantageous, including people who were formerly uninsured, many others have been forced to change plans or change doctors — contrary to Obama’s repeated promises.Obama tacitly admits the unintended consequences every time he waives a deadline or mandate in

A triumphant President Barack Obama declared Tuesday his signature medical insurance overhaul a success, saying it has made America´s health care system ´a lot better´ in a Rose Garden press conference. But buried in the 7.1 million enrollments he announced in a heavily staged appearance is a more unsettling reality. Numbers from a RAND Corporation study that has been kept under wraps suggest that barely 858,000 previously uninsured Americans – nowhere near 7.1 million – have paid for new policies and joined the ranks of the insured by Monday night.

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls. The bushy-tailed visitor

A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

WASHINGTON--Rushing to an afternoon vote last month, Sen. Ted Cruz hopped the underground tram to the U.S. Capitol from his office across the street. The Texan planted his black ostrich cowboy boots in the middle of the small subway car without getting so much as a nod from the other senators--Republican or Democrat--amiably chatting or huddled in their seats. Mr. Cruz finds himself standing alone a lot these days. His response to the cold shoulders: "The establishment despised Ronald Reagan" before he became president, "but the people loved him." For the 43-year-old Republican, the Reagan name illuminates his political life´s

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter — who used her talk show platform in the last presidential election cycle to campaign hard for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney — has taken up the mantra once again, calling on Republicans to give the failed White House bidder another shot in 2016. She made the suggestion during a discussion on Sean Hannity’s radio show while speaking of her new book, “Never Trust a Liberal Over 3-Especially a Republican.” Ms. Coulter also addressed the question of Mr. Romney’s shortcomings by saying that his 2012 loss wasn’t entirely his fault. “I think too much blame, not only in this

Prominent Washington correspondents are accusing President Obama and his aides of knowingly stretching the truth on issues like the so-called women´s pay gap just to create controversy and keep issues -- and the president -- relevant. Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus kicked off the attack last week when she blasted as “demagoguery” the administration´s tactics during the pay gap debate. “The level of hyperbole -- actually, of demagoguery -- that Democrats have engaged in here is revolting,” she wrote. CBS White House Correspondent Major Garrett then weighed in this week in his National Journal
