House panel on Benghazi eyes White
House document, Panetta testimony

Fox News, by James Rosen

As they wrap up their 13-month probe into the terrorist attacks in Benghazi that killed four Americans, congressional investigators have zeroed in on a press release issued the day before the murders by White House Press Secretary Jay Carney. They also are seeking fresh testimony from former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta. Staffers with the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations told Fox News they have reached the preliminary conclusion – as the Obama administration has long maintained – that no military rescue or remedy was feasible on the night of September 11, 2012, when U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens

Questions that will never be answered. Why was Ambassador Stevens in Benghazi along with all those CIA agents? Why did the White House lie about the video being the eeason for the "protest"? This administration will never be held accountable for these deaths. The mediabots will see to that.

To summarize, the Congresspeople involved in the investigation will get goodies for their donor contractors in the upcoming defense authorization bill; they have their healthcare subsidies; and they see no point in further disturbing the beltway status quo with a search for the truth that might embarrass both the President and McCain. Look where taking a stand got Sens. Cruz and Lee, after all.

If there weren´t any "assets" available to come to their aid, then why do we tout the American military as always ready, at any time - day or night - to deploy to wherever they are needed?

This kind of makes the might of the American military look wimpy and weak. I wonder if that wasn´t Obama´s strategy all along? Of course we must remember Barry went to bed that night and couldn´t be disturbed, so that the real president, Valerie Jarrett, was in control. This kind of sent a message to her Muslim friends, didn´t it?

So, we may be hearing that the four men who were slaughtered could not be helped; that they were in a situation that was beyond any attempt to help them.

This may turn out to be little more than an evasive rationalization--as such, it surely fails to summon the "better angels of our nature."

On September 10, 2012, the day before the Benghazi attacks, Carney’s office issued a four-sentence press release stating that earlier that day, President Obama had met with “key national security principals” to discuss “the steps taken to protect U.S. persons and facilities abroad…on the eve of the eleventh anniversary of September 11th.”

Lie.

As they wrap up their 13-month probe into the terrorist attacks in Benghazi that killed four Americans,...

What probe? Did you hear anything coming out of this alleged "probe"?

...the preliminary conclusion – as the Obama administration has long maintained – that no military rescue or remedy was feasible on the night of September 11, 2012,...

Lie. The people who could have come to the rescue said they were able to do it.

...House investigators have also determined that the reason no military forces could be rallied to intervene in Benghazi is because U.S. military assets were poorly postured ...

Lie. See above.

But staffers on the panel told Fox News they are working in tandem with other House subcommittees whose purview may enable them to secure such evidence.

Lie. Nothing of the truth will come out.

Fox News attempted to pose a question about this to the former secretary. But the moderator forbade it and Panetta’s office did not respond to an attempt by Fox News to discuss the subject off-camera.

Why didn´t he respond? Another Dossier?

Please. Lies, damn lies and more damn lies.

The position that nothing could be done in time is illogical because, at the time it was occurring, no one could know how long the event would last.

Or, put another way, could nothing be done if the Secretary of State was being attacked?

Absolutely absurd reasoning on the comments by this administration night of 9/11 in Benghazi. First the American people do not know what stompy feet was doing other than snoring. Panetta the day after the Benghazi attack on the US Compound said on the telly that they had no one on standby geographically to help the men fighting for their lives at Benghazi. Absolute rot ,there were US fighters based in Sicily a 25 to 40 minutes flight time from Benghazi. There was at that time a comtingent of US troops training in the former Yugoslavia territories who could have assisted .Why is it taking over a year for any truth about aspects of the Benghazi consulate fire and death of 4 US citizens. Why did Obama lie about who attacked the Benghazi Consulate and why does this administration under Obama still keep a gag on each individual who was fortunate to get to safety. Why with all the sophisticated equipment et al are no suspects of these killings aprehended .What a lot of people are wondering why is it taking so long to investigate other wrong doings by this White House. The Republican and Democratic commision investigating Benghazi , Fast and Furious , and the IRS political dynamite took off on a months vacation . With so many serious criminal trials to cover, a month´s vacation should have been foregone.President Nixon was removed from office because of Watergate and also politically interfering with the IRS.Enough said.

Advice to Democrats: Don´t say ´recovery´

WASHINGTON - Election-year memo to Democratic candidates: Don´t talk about the economic recovery. It´s a political loser. So say Democratic strategists in a blunt declaration that such talk skips over "how much trouble people are in, and doesn´t convince them that policymakers really understand or are even focusing on the problems they continue to face." In addition, Stan Greenberg, James Carville and others wrote that in head-to-head polling tests the mere mention of the word "recovery" is trumped by a Republican assertion that the Obama administration has had six years to get the economy moving and its policies haven´t worked. President Obama has warned that Iran is not open for business, even as the United States has loosened some of its punishing economic sanctions as part of an interim nuclear pact. Yet, on Tuesday morning, Iran had an unlikely visitor: a plane, owned by the Bank of Utah, a community bank in Ogden that has 13 branches throughout the state. Bearing a small American flag on its tail, the aircraft was parked in a highly visible section of Mehrabad Airport in Tehran. But from there, the story surrounding the plane, and why it was in Iran — where all but a few

Saying they can no longer ignore the rising prices of health care, some of the most influential medical groups in the nation are recommending that doctors weigh the costs, not just the effectiveness of treatments, as they make decisions about patient care. The shift, little noticed outside the medical establishment but already controversial inside it, suggests that doctors are starting to redefine their roles, from being concerned exclusively about individual patients to exerting influence on how health care dollars are spent. “We understand that we doctors should be and are stewards of the larger society as well as of the patient in

Hillary Clinton may end up deciding she wants to spend the 935 days until election 2016 making corporate speeches and spoiling her grandchild. Recent events have exposed weaknesses in Clinton’s supposedly impregnable armor, gaps through which a Democratic or Republican challenger could damage, perhaps even defeat her. The bad headlines to which she has been subjected are enough to make anyone—anyone who isn’t a Clinton—think twice about running for president. Look at the polls. President Barack Obama used his Thursday press conference to diagnose Republicans as fear-mongering, spiteful, obstinate, petulant and obstructive, as he again declared mission-accomplished in his effort to put the nation’s health-care under government control. “I recognize that their party is going through the stages of grief — anger and denial and all that stuff — and we’re not at acceptance yet,” Obama told reporters, where he announced that his Obamacare network had claimed 8 million subscribers. Three years into that budget showdown, Mr. Ryan and his Republican colleagues are winning. Government spending has slowed, and Mr. Obama’s plans for higher taxes and higher spending have fallen by the wayside. “The discretionary spending has in fact been driven by Republicans post-2010 clamping down,” said Douglas Holtz-Eakin, a former director of the Congressional Budget Office who is now president of the

In an open letter to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, Carter and the nine other Nobel Peace Prize winners bluntly warned the leaders: “Your decision on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline will define your climate legacy.” The missive, published as an advertisement in Politico, represents the first time Carter has taken a position on the $5.4 billion project and makes him the first former president to come

After presenting at the Academy Awards this year, Kim Novak didn’t want to leave her house. The Hitchcock screen siren, 81, was too humiliated to venture from her home near the Rogue River in Oregon. She read the cruel posts and Internet snark about her appearance, and it was just too much. “It got to me like it gets kids and teenagers,” she told the Associated Press. The “Vertigo” actress, considered one of the great beauties in her day, posted a note on her Facebook wall Thursday, acknowledging that she’d gotten fat injections in her face and addressing her halted

With Easter soon approaching, the Rev. Al Sharpton on Wednesday drew parallels between the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of President Obama’s political career. Joining the “Tom Joyner Morning Show,” Mr. Sharpton said that his message for this Easter is that “no matter what the world may do to you unfairly, no matter how you’re crucified — nailed to the cross at home, or in your personal relationships, or on the job — that you can rise if you don’t lose yourself during the hard times and the challenges.” The reverend went on to say that Christ endured so much humiliation and unearned suffering leading up to his death,

It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

The cash infusion by the federal government is actually going to help the city pay pensions, even though they´re playing a kind of shell game with the money. Reuters: Michigan officials and President Barack Obama´s Administration are discussing a plan to free up $100 million in federal money to aid Detroit´s retired city workers, the Detroit Free Press reported on Tuesday. Citing two people familiar with the talks, the newspaper said the talks were centered around federal money flowing to Michigan for blight removal. Under the plan, $100 million
