Schumer: ‘Mainstream Republicans’

WASHINGTON – The Senate has taken the lead from the House in attempting to devise a plan to reopen the government and avoid a potential default in the coming week. Speaking with Bob Schieffer on Sunday, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said he is “cautiously hopeful” that the Senate can pick up where House negotiations have become deadlocked, and hopefully avoid the continued government shutdown through bipartisan Senate discussion. “I’m cautiously hopeful, optimistic that we can come to an agreement and open up the government and avoid default based on the bipartisan meetings that are going on,” Schumer said on Face the Nation.

Becoming a mantra, isn´t it. Yes the Democrats ongoing strategy is to peg the "tea party" as extreme, a a danger to more rational Republican minds. Divide and conquer is the goal, of course.

Headline Correction = "Progressive" Republican Leaders Fed Up With Tea Party.

The Heritage Foundation needs to pull together The Libertarian Party & The Tea Party... and create a NEW 3rd Party = The Liberty Party.

The ONLY platform it needs is The Constitution & The Bill of Rights.... and I think both wings of The Progressive Party... DNC & GOP... will be shocked at how many Americans relate more to The Liberty Party.

Someone please, please make it happen. Freedom is slipping away.

This is all designed to try to deflect the blame when the Establishment Republicans fold, which has been the plan all along.

Monday night, MSNBC’s Chris Hayes used an essay on Slate about the Bundy Ranch standoff and race as a jumping off point to discuss how this story would be different if rancher Cliven Bundy’s armed supporters were black. “When is it that people take up arms against the federal or state government, point their arms at federal agents and face no consequence for it?” Hayes asked. “The answer is to that is hardly ever.” Hayes went on to imagine how Fox News react to the New Black Panthers if they decided to “greet law enforcement with long guns.” Or what if the

BUNKERVILLE, Nev. — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says “something is going to happen” to get Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy to stop letting his cattle graze on federal land. “It’s obvious that you can’t just walk away from this. And we can speculate all we want to speculate to what’s going to happen next,” Reid told KSNV-TV. “But I don’t think it’s going to be tomorrow that something is going to happen, but something will happen. Attorney General Eric Holder criticized drug sentences doled out under “the old regime” in a video Monday announcing the Obama administration’s “Clemency Project 2014.” “In 2010, President Obama signed the Fair Sentencing Act reducing unfair disparities in sentences imposed on people for offenses involving different forms of cocaine. But there’s still too many people in federal prison who were sentenced under the old regime and who, as a result, will have to spend far more time in prison than they would if sentenced today for exactly the same crime. This is simply not right,” Holder says in the video. President Obama could

The American middle class, long the most affluent in the world, has lost that distinction. While the wealthiest Americans are outpacing many of their global peers, a New York Times analysis shows that across the lower- and middle-income tiers, citizens of other advanced countries have received considerably larger raises over the last three decades. After-tax middle-class incomes in Canada — substantially behind in 2000 — now appear to be higher than in the United States. The poor in much of Europe earn more than poor Americans. The Obama administration is poised to entertain a flood of new clemency applications from thousands of federal prisoners who were given harsh sentences under mandatory-minimum laws following drug convictions, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday. Holder said in a short videotaped statement that he wants to shrink the federal prison population by a modest amount while ensuring ´that those who have paid their debts have a chance to become productive citizens.´ At the center of the move is a set of old sentencing rules that punished crack-cocaine offenders with more time behind bars than users or traffickers of powder cocaine.

If Jeb reaches for the nomination, there will be a titanic battle between the party establishment and the Tea Party. Steve Schmidt, McCain’s strategist in 2008, insists that in the end Republicans usually settle on the most electable candidate. There’s a pattern of falsifying statistics throughout the entire Census Bureau. And anyone who attempts to blow the whistle on the fraud is either retaliated against or ignored, according to two new sources who have experienced the process firsthand. As I’ve been writing for more than six months, the Census Bureau office in Philadelphia uncovered a case of fraud in 2010, did nothing about it and allowed the practice to continue. In that instance, a data collector named Julius Buckmon was faking reports that went into the nation’s all-important jobless tally and consumer-inflation survey.
