President Obama’s rhetoric is finally coming closer to what appears to be his psychological truth: Because America victimized him and countless millions of others, any person or party or movement that opposes his views and does not yield to him is not just his adversary, but abusive, predatory and even threatening. Again and again, President Obama has described members of Congress who insist on fiscal responsibility as having taken “hostages,” “demanding a ransom,” using “extortion,” and threatening to “blow up” the government. On Tuesday, in fact, the president used these exact words when speaking to the press, “What you haven´t seen
Comments: Good question ... interesting "diagnosis."
Obama sees himself as having been denied his rightful due in life, no parents, no friends, no cushy jobs. That´s why he continues to stick it to us with lavish vacations, daily cocktail parties and frequent golf outings, all paid for by us. He DESERVES it and if we deny him anything, we are racist pigs.
Excellent points- I think. It does explain a huge part of the Øbama enigma. We have created a nation of victims- blacks, native Americans, gays, women, illegal Mexican invaders. I know so many of those very classes that are strong, outgoing, self determined, intelligent, hardworking, devoted family people, with courage beyond measure to keep their responsibilities, driven to succeed and do succeed. They all could drop into the victim class. They refuse!
But, everything was handed to this child/man we call President of our nation. He was never personally challenged to pull himself upward by his own strength. He was always surrounded by others who were grabbing, clutching perpetual "victims" who goaded the successful of this society into giving them all and more. Now, look what we have created- and look at the destruction they do. And he is just one of them and we have hundreds of thousands of them everywhere now. What a shame in this great nation of boundless opportunity.
He´s a narcissist who was taught by his parents, grandparents and Frank Marshall Davis, Communists all, that the US is an oppressor. Whether slave masters or colonial overseers, American whites have turned everyone else into the oppressed victims. He won´t ne happy till we are all equalized, except for him and the ruling class. Oligarchy. Fascism. Call it what you will.
#11, simply Google "how to manipulate a narcissist" and you´ll see tons of advice.
There are lots of them in the world today and although they are supremely (and obviously) manipulative themselves, its actually quite easy to manipulate them.
Ignore them (They hate that), ridicule them (they have extremely weak self images and can´t take it), do anything but validate them. They are desperate for validation, deny it to them.
The people in those Buzzfeed photos that were posted here today who were blithely ignoring the posted "closed" signs in DC would probably would drive him nuts. (Oops, too late!)Of course, they´ll never let him see them. Big temper tantrum if they did!
The purpose of victim politics is to manipulate guilt to gain power. It works, e.g. the notorious white liberal guilt. Victim politics makes people ashamed of themselves, causes them to lower or suspend their natural skepticism and to bear with and even support infringements upon their freedom and assaults upon their pocketbooks. Victims make others feel like they are owed something because they are victims, e.g. apologies, money, status, special consideration, affirmative action etc.
I don´t think Obama has a victim mentality. He has a messiah complex. But he certainly uses victim politics to manipulate others and gain power.
It is remarkable how easy it is, even after all this time, for characters like Obama and other class warfare and identity politics practitioners to make many Americans feel guilty.
Bill Elliot was a cancer patient who lost his insurance due to ObamaCare and couldn’t pay the expensive new premiums. He was talking about paying the ObamaCare fine, going without health insurance and “letting nature take its course.” He went on FOX News where his story was picked up by C. Steven Tucker, a health insurance broker who helped him keep his insurance. Now suddenly Bill Elliot is being audited for 2009 with an interview only scheduled in April 2014. Assuming he lives that long. That might be a coincidence, but Tucker is being audited back to 2003. That’s a
The other day, Pope Francis delivered what has been described as a stinging critique of unfettered capitalism and “unbridled consumerism.” As I mentioned on Morning Joe Wednesday, free markets and capitalism are responsible for more wealth and prosperity — for more people — than any other economic system ever devised by man. We should continue to point that out, but this doesn’t mean Pope Francis’ concerns aren’t valid. Just as conservatives must make the moral case for free markets, we must also concede that we live in a fallen world full of greed and sin. It is not inconsistent to
With ObamaCare revealing that except for lies and incompetence Emperor Obama is naked, all around the country voters are turning against the president´s political party and anyone who made it possible for ObamaCare to rape the middle class. Just a few months ago, the media thought the government shutdown would benefit Democrats in the 2014 midterms. Today the National Journal reports that a wave is building that will hand Republicans control of the United States Senate. A third of America´s one-hundred U.S. Senators are up for re-election every two years. Of the 33 or 34 facing a 2014 election, the
LAHORE: Fifty-six women have been killed in Pakistan this year for giving birth to a girl rather than a boy, human rights activist IA Rehman said at a symposium here on Monday. “A country where mothers are killed for giving birth to baby girls can’t be called an ethical society,” Rehman said at the symposium, titled ‘Youth emerging as a force for positive change’, meant to mark the International Day to Eliminate Violence Against Women. The event was arranged by the All Pakistan Women’s Association (APWA). From January 2012 to September 2013, there were also 90 acid attacks on women,
BEIJING - Beijing is waging a war against air pollution, one barbecue at a time. Authorities in the capital have destroyed more than 500 open-air barbecues "to cut PM2.5" - the tiny particulate matter in the air that can enter deep into the lungs. Photos carried by state media showed workers on Tuesday cutting pieces of metal with sparks flying as city wardens looked on. Citizens online ridiculed the exercise, suggesting authorities should focus on bigger sources of pollution. A media officer at Beijing´s Xicheng district administration bureau said the hundreds of barbecue grills were confiscated over a three-month campaign
HOUMA, La. -- Police in Houma are searching for a suspect who shot and killed a deacon Sunday afternoon. Police say a 17-year-old homeless boy, Leron Calloway, who police believe is armed and dangerous, is a person of interest in the case. He´s wanted for questioning in the shooting death of Connely Duplantis, a Catholic deacon who, shortly after giving out communion at Annunziata Church, was gunned down at his parent´s house. "I just saw a person pass, and then I heard ´Boom!´" That´s Drussela Duplantis describing the moments leading up to her son Duplantis getting shot right outside her
Iranian officials say that the White House is misleading the public about the details of an interim nuclear agreement reached over the weekend in Geneva. Iran and Western nations including the United States came to an agreement on the framework for an interim deal late Saturday night in Geneva. The deal has yet to be implemented. The White House released a multi-page fact sheet containing details of the draft agreement shortly after the deal was announced. However, Iranian foreign ministry official on Tuesday rejected the White House’s version of the deal as “invalid” and accused Washington
For pet owners across the country, you should rejoice! Your pets are eligible for Obamacare benefits. Colorado resident Shane Smith received a letter informing him that his dog, Baxter, was successfully enrolled in the Affordable Care Act. Smith’s own policy was cancelled under Obamacare, so he decided to enroll with the government’s program. During the application process, which he decided to do by phone, he was asked several security questions; he used his dog’s name for one of the codes. An error in data collection obviously occurred. Smith facetiously said, “It’s awesome that they [Connect for Health Colorado]
Actor Alec Baldwin confirmed with the Gothamist that he will not be returning to MSNBC. In typical Baldwin fashion, the actor raged against those who he sees as his oppressors: the celebrity site TMZ and those he describes -- Andrew Sullivan and GLAAD´s Rich Ferraro -- as being part of the "fundamentalist wing of gay advocacy": Showing a video in which I call someone a [snip]... you can´t really tell what I´m saying, and we live in a world in which the phrase ´TMZ´s enhanced audio´ exists. ´TMZ´s enhanced audio.´ And then with The Post... there´s nothing you can do
NEW YORK – Police are investigating if a 72-year-old woman is the latest victim of the so-called “knockout game,” a violent trend in which youths sucker-punch unsuspecting strangers for kicks. Mira Harpazi was walking two blocks from her home at the Starret City housing complex in Brooklyn when she was punched in the face by a man in his 20s, CBS 2's John Slattery reported. Like other alleged ”knockout” victims, she was not robbed, but left on the street injured. The attack was the most recent in what may be a disturbing series of similar assaults. Online videos from various
Alec Baldwin has been fired by MSNBC, sources say. The rage-aholic’s weekly show, “Up Late With Alec Baldwin,” has been canceled because of the actor’s foul-mouthed rant at a photographer he called a nasty name. “The decision has been made. He’s gone,” an insider at the cable channel told me. “The [parent company] Comcast guys have decided. Word is spreading through the building.” Baldwin’s dismissal was decided on partly because of his diva-like behavior toward co-workers, a source said.
Pope Francis said Tuesday in his first apostolic exhortation that no matter how progressive-minded the world turns, the Catholic Church can never compromise on its “no abortion” rule — it’s a matter of human dignity. “I want to be completely honest in this regard,” he said, Catholic News Service reported. “This is not something subject to alleged reforms or ‘modernizations.’ It is not ‘progressive’ to try to resolve problems by eliminating a human life.” The statement comes in sharp contrast to some in the political world, of mostly liberal and left-of-center progressive mind, who claim loyalty to the Catholic faith,
President Obama requested Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu take a “breather” from his harsh criticism of the U.S. strategy regarding Iran during a call betwee the two leaders, The Washington Post reported on Thursday. The request came as the administration girds up for a push in the next six months to reach a final settlement on Iran´s nuclear program. The president reportedly urged Netanyahu to tone down his rhetoric for the sake of diplomacy and urged him to dispatch officials to Washington who could help negotiate a resolution agreeable to both countries. The president called Netanyahu last Sunday, promising to
In 1947, Sen. Harley Kilgore (D-W.Va.) condemned a proposed constitutional amendment that would restrict presidents to two terms. “The executive’s effectiveness will be seriously impaired,” Kilgore argued on the Senate floor, “ as no one will obey and respect him if he knows that the executive cannot run again.” I’ve been thinking about Kilgore’s comments as I watch President Obama, whose approval rating has dipped to 37?percent in CBS News polling — the lowest ever for him — during the troubled rollout of his health-care reform. Many of Obama’s fellow Democrats have distanced themselves from the reform and from the president.
Cher told her fans on Wednesday that she does not celebrate Thanksgiving. In fact, she appears to deplore the American holiday, calling in the “beginning of a great crime.” Cher said that the American settlers were guilty of taking land from native Americans who had no concept of property ownership and also intentionally infected them with smallpox. “You don’t celebrate the holiday I thought?” a fan asked Cher. “I DON’T,” Cher replied emphatically. She said that, to her, Thanksgiving is a day to see family, eat food together and watch a movie. “Not 2 celebrate the beginning of a GREAT Crime.” When asked
For all the gnashing of teeth over the lack of comity and civility in Washington, the real problem is not etiquette but the breakdown of political norms, legislative and constitutional. Such as the one just spectacularly blown up in the Senate. To get three judges onto a coveted circuit court, frustrated Democrats abolished the filibuster for executive appointments and (non-Supreme Court) judicial nominations. The problem is not the change itself. It’s fine that a president staffing his administration should need 51 votes rather than 60. Doing so for judicial appointments, which are for life, is a bit dicier. Nonetheless, for
President Obama's weekly remarks: Hi, everybody. On behalf of all the Obamas — Michelle, Malia, Sasha, Bo, and the newest member of our family, Sunny — I want to wish you a happy and healthy Thanksgiving. We’ll be spending today just like many of you — sitting down with family and friends to eat some good food, tell stories, watch a little football and. most importantly, count our blessings. And as Americans, we have so much to be thankful for.
LEE COUNTY - The Lee County Sheriff´s Office has arrested a juvenile in connection with two random attacks reported in Lee County. Traveshia Blanks, of Fort Myers, is charged with two counts of battery on a person 65 years of age or older. On Tuesday around 3:50 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a group of people who randomly attacked an unsuspecting victim (Snip)We talked to students from nearby Cypress Lake High School who didn´t seem to think the teens did anything wrong. "I´m not gonna say it´s not right and it´s not fun, because it is fun," said
Economics: It seems the official position of Pope Francis is that the free market is a wicked enemy that must be restrained. With all due respect, he´s mistaken. The free market has been a heavenly blessing. Two days before our American Thanksgiving, the Argentinian pontiff, in his first apostolic exhortation, called the free market a "new tyranny." "Some people continue to defend trickle-down theories which assume that economic growth, encouraged by a free market, will inevitably succeed in bringing about greater justice and inclusiveness in the world," he wrote in the Vatican report. Claims of free-market success, he said, have "never been confirmed
President Obama is concerned these days with the "young invincibles," the 20-somethings he needs now to buy into his program, but who probably won´t because they feel (you guessed it) invincible and think they will stay so for quite a long time. But it takes one to know one, as the irony is Obama himself is, or once was, an ultra-invincible, unstoppable and doing what people said couldn´t be done. Could he become world famous on the strength of one speech? Yes, he could. Could he beat Hillary Clinton, a president´s wife and a feminist icon? Yes, he could. Could he
One day after a new poll showed that only a minority of Americans trust President Barack Obama, the president told an audience that his policies are based on kindness. “Kindness covers all of my political beliefs,” Obama told his audience of wealthy investors, high-tech donors, journalists and fellow Democrats Tuesday, only two months after he slashed at GOP legislators, calling them arsonists, nuclear blackmailers, economic wreckers, hostage-takers, obsessives and irresponsible extremists. “When I think about what I’m fighting for, what gets me up every single day, [kindness] captures it just about as much as anything,” he told his audience at the DreamWorks
Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin are starting to sour on the new pope. In response to Pope Francis’ first Apostolic Exhortation, in which the pontiff denounced “trickle-down theories which assume that economic growth, encouraged by a free market, will inevitably succeed in bringing about greater justice and inclusiveness in the world,” these two paragons of the far right – both of whom regularly invoke the teachings of Jesus to bolster their own political views – have suddenly turned their backs on the man whose actual job description is to speak for Jesus. Sarah Palin complained that Pope Francis sounded “kind
In the wake of the Obamacare fiasco, President Obama’s poll numbers are collapsing in two industrial Midwestern states — the quintessential swing state of Ohio and his home state of Illinois. In Illinois, the Democratic firm Public Policy Polling found Obama’s approval rating falling to just 50–46 positive in a state he carried by 17 points just a year ago. His biggest drops in support came among women voters (only 50 percent positive) and Hispanics (only 51 percent positive). Without his overwhelming support among African-Americans (92 percent), his approval rating would easily be in the low 40s. The liberal website
So this is how first lady Michelle Obama imagines Americans should spend their Thanksgiving dinner: Talking about Obamacare. That’s her call to supporters, via an email invitation to Democratic Party backers, The New York Post reported. “As you spend time with loved ones this holiday season, be sure to talk with them about what health care reform can mean to them,” she said, in the email that contained 14 talking points that could be raised. Among her touted topics, The Post reported: Talk about the need to sign up for Obamacare. And, ask guests to bring W2 tax forms, or
