The Threat We Face
FrontPage, by David Horowitz

Original Article

Posted By:Judy W., 10/10/2013 7:35:06 AM

I was born at the beginning of the Second World War into a family of high school teachers who were members of the Communist Party, and therefore were actually part of a vast conspiracy dedicated to the destruction of this country, although they would never have looked at it that way, and so-called liberals would be the first to deny it. (Snip) It is also an unhappy but hugely important fact that the conspiracy to which my parents belonged has steadily migrated into the heart of the Democratic Party until it now occupies the Oval Office in the person of

A brilliant and necessary lesson about the left from one who knows their methods and their aims inside out.

Should be required reading for every Republican elected official everywhere--and for students in every HS in America.

Good luck with that!

FTA "It is a time honored American code never to abandon our warriors on the field of battle. But America’s commander-in-chief turned his back on these brave fighting men and left them to die; and then lied to the American people to cover up his crime."

Howoritz absolutely excoriates Obama over Benghazi.

And, as #1 says, a long read but worth the time to do it.

Someone needs to read this on the floor of the Senate and of the House. Republicans needs to understand this article and use it for what it is, ammunition against the people who want to enslave us. Horowitz is right, we must fight fire with fire. Excellent insight from someone who knows. Either we take his advice or this country is lost. Are you listening Republicans?

I am one of a handful of posters here who insist that we start accurately naming the people who are the very real threat here, namely communists, and not their chosen cover name, progressives. Yes, it´s not considered polite to do so. In fact, many refer to us us tin hat conspiracy nuts.

I´m not intimidated in the least. In my case, I have first hand knowledge of communists, even more so than David Horowitz. My family and I happened to have lived in and escaped from a country that was taken over by communists. I need nobody´s assistance in recognizing real communists, regardless of what they call themselves.

Ignore our warning at your own peril.

The dictatorship attitude of this president is completely out there in the open . How many of us now trust the Park Ranger ? How many people are wondering if the IRS is going to audit them ? How many people think the nsa is reading every word we write here and are keeping names ? They are overtaking our freedoms and we are watching them do it. It is horrifying and disgusting. Meanwhile obamacare is hastening our bankruptcy and will enslave us while we wait to die prematurely.

And that´s who the liberals are after. Sorry but we´re likely past the point of no return. If not we surely will be by 2016. And with another Democrat in the White House in 2016 it´s all over.

Anyone who thinks conservatives are going to overcome the lies and deception of the liberals by being gentile and cooperative is a fool.

Horowitz spells out the progressive tactics and it should be a wakeup call to the Rinos and weak conservatives who think this will all go away if we just play nice together. It is time to UNITE against this evil.

People who lie have no compassion or love for their fellowman. They only want one thing POWER. It is time for the true Americans to stand up against these heartless, despicable citizens of the world.

Wakeup America - before you find yourself in FEMA camps waiting in line to be gassed. Nazi Germany is alive and well in Obamacare. This may not be Custard´s last stand - but it sure looks like it from here.

As long as the GOP is dominated by the Go-Along-To-Get-Along crew, the party will be impotent in the face of this threat. When I see the regular demeaning of Conservatives by that crew right here on this site, I have little hope that Horowtiz´ message will be taken to the people by the Republican leadership.

Defunding Obamacare is not just about stopping incredibly bad legislation and policy from taking effect - it is a hill on which American loyalists may have to die in order to win the bigger battle for the very existence of a free country. God bless America and give our representatives the courage to do what is necessary now.

As usual, a very well written and thought provoking piece by Horowitz. His first paragraph gives a hint of the basis for his running feud with Diane West, and reminds me of the current storm in the UK about Labour leader Ed Miliband’s communist father, and his father. David’s intellectual and writing skills have had an impact for years, particularly, upon those of us who fought against the Black Panthers, SNCC and other radicals coached by him and his fellow communists in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s, as they battled for the minds of the Black masses by attacking ‘establishment’ organizations and institutions like the Urban League, NAACP, and the Black Church for being too ‘moderate’. His cohorts, Bobbie Rush, Barbara Lee, and Julian Bond, to name a few, moved on to become members of Congress and to co-opt the UL, NAACP and many pulpits.

I´m with #7...David, move beyond the usual Zero advisers and tell us about ‘progressive’ backgrounds of former chiefs of staff Rahm and Jack Lew, the latter now Treasury Secy...or Commerce Secy Pritzker who bankrolled the early stages of Zero’s campaign and owned Valerie Jarrett and Axelrod...or little Timmy Geithner who did and Janet Yellen who will run our economy...

Much of the information in this great article the majority of LDotters already knew. The problem is that at least 95% of the media is in favor of what the Regime is doing and will not report it. And lets not forget the Elite Republicans who are supposed to help save us from the scourge of the Liberal/Progressives.

FTA: "The Democrats sabotaged the war in Iraq for the worst of reasons. They claimed it was for principle, but it was really – and only — to save their political skins."

And if it wasn´t for the likes of Tokyo Rove and many other Establishment Republicans who remained silent while this was happening the plan may not have worked. You cannot convince me that they didn´t know what was going on, but they remained silent to protect their seats and their political consulting jobs; because what was more important to be seen as reasonable and getting re-elected. They never spoke out, they never fought fire with fire. Not once did they take to the floor of either house and shame the Democrats with their own words that were on the record. It would have forced the media to at least cover it. What we are faced with now did not happen overnight, it took years, and years of the Republican party remaining quiet and putting party before Country. Shame on all of them.

Brilliant as only David Horowitz can do. Everything he says is worth reading and absorbing. Send this to liberal friends who might just identify with his history as one of them.

I still don´t get that David has trashed Diana West about her new book which details how communists infiltrated our government starting in the early 30s. It dovetails with what Horowitz is talking about and what he experienced with his parents and previous friends.

As with the War on Terror - if we cannot identify who the enemy is - then we are going to lose. The Left has no problem calling every Conservative an extremist, anarchist, etc. We need to fight fire with fire. We´re going to be called names anyway so we might as well get out and attack them and call them what they really are.

From Shakespeare: KING RICHARD III:
A horse! a horse! my kingdom for a horse!

Each of us should have the answer for just what is the price we would put on our country. Thankfully, many of us would answer "nothing" to the question. But many others would sell it for just what would make THEM happy:

For a lot of politicians the answer would be power, money, prestige, etc.

For those lo-info people, they will sell their votes (i.e., our country) for far less:
their privacy, welfare checks, and other things that let them lay around doing nothing while enjoying the perks.

Thank God for people like Horowitz and others who speak the truth.

How I wish I were computer savvy enough to post. In today´s (Oct. 10)SunSentinel (Ft. Lauderdale,Fl) a Latin immigrant has written a great piece called "Argentina shows peril with spending too much" in which he says after WWII Argentina was bursting with wealth. Then Peron turned a lot of power over to Evita who redistributed the wealth to the point of leaving the country impoverished. Hyper inflation set in. Argentina has never recovered in all the long years since the Perons have been gone.

The Pubbies are too busy reading the editorials in the NY Times and Washington Post - - and cringing in the deep weeds.

And when the Pubbies aren´t reading the Times and Post - - they´re elbowing each other to see who goes on Meet The Press or Face The Nation to be humiliated.

Anyone who thinks elected Pubbies will save our nation is delusional.

These magnificent words by David Horowitz may be a bit too long for most L dotters. Read at least the first third, save the brilliant Benghazi Blast for later.
David is to be congratulated for finally coming clean, finally declaring that "so-called liberals and progressives" are all part of the shift to soviet communism. Two years ago, at a Friends Of Abe gathering, I will never forget David´s immediate anger towards me when I asked him why he always calls all these destructive people the good words of "liberal" and "progressive". His many newsletters were packed full of otherwise great articles that falsely used the word "liberal" when they were describing or quoting communists. Today´s article, is David´s brilliant recognition that word honesty counts. "So-called liberals", ARE destroying this nation, the democrat party is the same thing, also destroying this nation.Thank you, David, for joining in with all libertarians, free market economists, Austrian school, Ayn Rand objectivists, all people who believe in the core values of America, who do not call communists the good name of liberal. Let´s face it, LIBERAL MEANS FREEDOM, always has. Congratulations for coming clean in his own revealing words. And, also, the most perfect blast on The Crime of Benghazi, that I have yet to read. The imposter commie president and his frightening commie aid, Hillary Clinton, are perhaps the most foul team in our American public eye, in our lifetime.

First of all, do yourself a favor and read this essay. What Horowitz writes deserves the widest possible dissemination, and what he has written here is essential for all good American citizens to know. I am going to bookmark this article so I can refer back to it in the future. The rest of my friends on this news forum should do the same.

For years I have been saying that the Democratic Party has moved so resolutely and so completely leftward that the socialist and communist parties are largely superfluous, at least in this nation. As Horowitz says, they know better than to reveal their true intentions. If they did their political power would be taken from them by horrified American voters who nonetheless soak up the leftist euphemisms like happy sponges, unaware that they´re being manipulated by people who know no public life outside their lies and their utopian fantasies. The Establishment GOP and its acolytes in the media would rather die than tell the truth about their political enemies. So let them die. They´re infected by the same spiritual disease that has driven the Left around the bend.

I don´t see any relief from the death spiral our government is on without significant defections by Democrats in government who are either too attracted to the power that their lies brings, or too dull-witted or historically ignorant to see where socialism leads. Where are the healthy cells in a party that is itself a malignant tumor? If there are none, the nation is heading straight toward a man-made hell. If they could return from the afterlife, the Founding Fathers would probably throw hanging parties for those who are deliberately destroying our nation.

One of the reasons that the modern day Dims started calling themselves "progressivies" instead of "liberals" is that they realized that Americans will not vote for liberals. So the name change.

An this article clearly points out what I´ve been saying for some time now. The only way I see any form of salvation for this once great nation is for enough citizens rise up and have themselves an old fashion revolution. Given the modern make-up of the Republican party with it´s infulux of RINO´s, there is no way that I can see a political solution to the ongoing destruction of our country. They only saving grace is a revolution. And make the necessary changes to the Constitution to prevent the same thing from happening again.

#39 states what I was thinking in saying, ´´... go on the attack...´´ Why should the good guys play only defense?!! Our government representatives, with few exceptions, won´t take the stand that many of our talk radio hosts do. They play defense for their party, I´m afraid. They must go on the offensive as Ted Cruze, Rand Paul, and Mike Lee have. Step up to the bat for a change.

I think we can succeed. But, it will a lot more than just being the loyal L.dotters we are. As I have said since before Obie stole the WH, talking the talk is good, but, walking the talk is best. There is so much work to do. When do we start?

#50, Remember Churchill´s admonition:

"...never give in, never give in, never, never, never-in nothing, great or small, large or petty - never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy."

There is simply no "give up" in this fight to restore our liberty. Read what Horowitz wrote here, learn, understand the enemy, and fight. The sacrifices from Valley Forge to the beaches of Normandy and the words of Patrick Henry and John Paul Jones should stiffen our resolve.

Many, many great comments on this brilliant and very, VERY important article.

Our only complaint is that it will not get wider dissemination, especially missing the brains of those most in need of pondering the Truth.

So as others have said, it is up to us to get this to as many in our circle of friends, relatives, acquaintances. #52 does well to remind us all of Churchill´s famous exhortation (one of my favorites): Never give up!

#s 6 and 7 deserve double clicks!

#12, up until these past several months, i did not really believe that Americans could --or would-- use unjustified force on fellow citizens, not this soon.

Of course, we have known from a July ´08 campaign speech of BO´s that he envisioned a, well, a paramilitary organization... why?

We have our concerns, based on the form FBI informant who´d sat in on Ayers and other radicals of the 60s (still today), that once they gained power, recalcitrant citizens would need to be eliminated...

Leftists always must and will resort to force. They rely on intimidation of Party members who might be reluctant to participate: but notice how not one Dem has broken ranks with the Leadership.

Meanwhile, the Repub Party is totally fractured, leaving us (Repubs, Indies, Libertarians) like the Parties opposing the Bolsheviks during the (short-lived) Constituent Assembly: unable to unite to oust the dangerous left-wing demagogues.

Stalin took Lenin´s method of ruling the Party with an "iron fist" to its logical, horrific conclusion. By the way, the NAZIs emulated these tactics.

Modern history provides all the information we need about the pathways to dictatorial, brutal totalitarianism ALL IN THE NAME OF UTOPIA. You can feel its hot breath behind your ear.

The last two sentences from the article are hugely disappointing in that it leaves people hanging because it demands no definitive action. "If we lose this battle, everything is lost. But if we will take the measure of the enemies of freedom and prepare ourselves to fight them, we have a better than even chance to win."
Horowitz doesn´t explain what is meant by "prepare ourselves to fight them." Is this in ideological and political terms by use of rhetoric? Or since democratic institutions underpinning our democracy, such as the IRS and NSA, are already actively being subverted does he mean prepare to fight with force the humans who are directly subverting our Constitution, the object of all federal oaths? Prepare to fight them as this once united country would have fought a direct Soviet or Red Chinese invasion or fight like Lincoln - Douglass in spirited debate?

Some analyses are too fuzzy ~ and others are crystal clear.

Hannah Arndt and others in the 50s and 60s who´d survived both Nazi and Communist tyranny in the 30s and 40s came up with a simple formula ~ that all these people were TOTALITARIANS.

That, BTW, sucks in ´militant/fundamentalist´ Islam which was not, at that time, of much concern to anyone but folks in Moslem countries who lived next door to a mullah.

I was fortunate to study under Dr. Benes at Indiana University. He was part of the crowd who knew what the totalitarians were up to.

Sometimes I sense that Horowitz shys away from stuffing all of them into the Totalitarian bag ~ I don´t. On the other hand I sympathize with anyone who does not particularly care to place his mommy-daddy on the same level as the Nazis, so it´s not likely I´ll be asking him to denounce them any more than he already has.

When it comes to Obamugabe, he´s inclined to be a Totalitarian but seems timid about it ~ almost as if he imagines it´s him who will end up in the cooking pot.

Somebody got a match, and you, over there! We need more water.

#55 ~ real quick ~ it´s the math of the single member district that forces the creation of no more than 2 major coalition political parties (you usually have to shoot for 50% + 1 vote to win)

Consequently all parties ~ particularly the 2 big ones ~ will be made up of factions, some of which show up, to a degree, in both of the big parties.

European countries use systems that allow single focus parties with only 1 faction to exist. Coalitions are formed after the elections.

This ain´t Europe!

The Republicans are not ´fractured´ ~ it is what it is

My comments are not spiritual clichés! Until we, as a nation, return to a ´Fear of the Lord´, His blessing and protection over us is removed, and we are under His judgment rather than His blessing. Many contemporary writers (and many others, including the Bible writers) have warned against ´personal peace and affluence´ lulling people to sleep and apathy, and creating an illusion of security, an idolatry of entertainment and pleasure, and a self-righteousness that thrusts God out! Read Romans 1-3 to see how man´s rejection of God brings God´s judgment on man - God ´gave them up´. When people refuse to love the truth, according to Thessalonians, God sends a ´strong delusion´, so that they will believe a lie. Is this not where so many people in this county are? The real solution is not revolution or secession or political resurgence, but repentance and a Christian (not just spiritual, since that can mean almost anything)revival. "If my people will confess their sins, and humble themselves and pray.....then I will heal their land"

It´s all true, if only people would listen. The left´s biggest ´victory´ has come from the fact that they have been able to convince people that all ´right thinking´ individuals agree with them. Thus, the ´educated´ don´t pay attention to what they´re actually saying and doing; they simply bow and pay obeisance, thinking that that makes them look intelligent.

In effect, David Horowitz declared that calling pro obamacide, pro debt, pro big government, pro democrat, pro barry soetero people the good name of liberal (which means FREE), is not acceptable, must STOP. This well known patriot journalist, publisher, David Horowitz, is the first person in the public eye to come out and declare that "so-called liberals" are basically communist driven destroyers of this nation. And, herewith an encouraging list, to call them by their real names. Overcome fear, start with these aggressive words: reds, pinkos, commies, are the slang ones; statists, collectivists, power mad totalitarians, authoritarians, agitators, organizers politically correct, anti liberals, socialist lemmings, entitlement crazed, dictators, government union slugs, Keynesian leaches, Feinstein gun Nazis, fellow travelers, fascists, second ammendment destroying, interventionists, Jerry Brown union destroyers, utopians, Islamic supremacist ideologues, Fabian socialists, and we close with, Marxists and Leninists, the brutal founders of the Stalinist Soviet decades of Gulag enslavement, mass murder, famine, agression all over Europe, the deaths of over 100 million people. That´s what using the fake ID, cover-up word "liberal" (“progressive”, too) is all about. Use the words you like, and by quoting David, all L dotters can influence the likes of, Rush, Ann Coulter, Glenn Beck, Dennis Prager, O’Reilly, Sean, yes, even Mark Levin, who continue to confuse by calling all the bad guys the lovely sounding name of “liberal”. Maybe Rush and all the others will now have second thoughts about their years of semantic error.

You gave me a good chuckle #61, that´s how I feel when I watch a lot of the House Republicans. They kind of sort of want to do the right thing (that is get rid of Obamacare) because they know it´s a good political move (at least with their base) but they lack the fortitude to stare down the left´s propaganda (you´ll cause us to default on the debt, destroy the world and a goodly part of the nearby universe and we´re going to tell everyone and you´ll be ruined). They don´t recognize that it´s not just high priced lousy healthcare we face but, as Horowitz points out, we citizens face the loss of more and more of our freedom as we become more and more slaves of the state. My fear is that some of them might not be morons but just don´t mind that much as long as they´re part of the state.

The war on standards

Paul has been writing about the war on standards in various aspects of our society, generally as a means of advancing the interests of minorities (or purporting to advance them, anyway). Now it appears that the decline of standards–indeed, the abolition of any standards at all–has come to the world of college debate. The Atlantic reports: These days, an increasingly diverse group of participants has transformed debate competitions, mounting challenges to traditional form and content by incorporating personal experience, performance, and radical politics. These “alternative-style” debaters have achieved success, too, taking top honors at national

"They fought like tigers," writes the CIA officer who helped train the Cubans who splashed ashore at the Bay of Pigs 53 years ago this week. "But their fight was doomed before the first man hit the beach." That CIA man, Grayston Lynch, knew something about fighting – and about long odds. The government has no business owning (or administering) all of this land. I am willing to concede federal courthouses and even the national parks to the feds, (even though some of the parks were created as a result of brutal land grabs. Shenandoah National Park which I look out at as I write this is an example.) but why is practically all of the far West run by the Federal Government? Here’s another thing I’ll concede. The feds get a few hundred God forsaken square miles in the northern Nevada desert to do nuclear testing and to dump nuclear fuel. Beyond that? People should own this land.

The debate over campaign contributions is never-ending for a simple reason: Both sides of the argument have merit. On the one hand, of course money is speech. For most citizens, contributing to politicians or causes is the most effective way to augment and amplify speech with which they agree. The most disdainful dismissers of this argument are editorialists and incumbent politicians who — surprise! — already enjoy access to vast audiences and don’t particularly like their monopoly being invaded by the unwashed masses or the self-made plutocrat. On the other hand, of course money is corrupting.
