MOSCOW--Russian investigators said on Wednesday they found drugs aboard a Greenpeace ship that was used in a protest against offshore Arctic drilling and would press new charges against some of the 30 people being held for alleged piracy. In addition to drugs, the Investigative Committee said searches of the Arctic Sunrise, which was boarded by Russian coast guards after the September 18 protest at the Prirazlomnaya oil rig, had revealed equipment with potential military uses. It also said investigators were trying to establish which of those being held were responsible for what it called attempts to ram coast guard boats,

The hostile boarding of a vessel on the high seas can be countered with the use of lethal force. Greenpeace presumably thought the Russian captain would not choose to do so.

Playing "Do you feel lucky, Punk?" with a Russian captain is not recommended. The Greenies are lucky to be alive, and probably don´t, even yet, appreciate the fact.

Back sometime in the 80´s, when the Muzzies were incessantly kidnapping and torturing Americans in Lebanon, one of their factions made the mistake of kidnapping and demanding ransom for a Soviet diplomat. The next day the son of the sheik heading up the snatch had his son kidnapped and subsequently a note was sent with attached ears of the son telling the sheik to turn over the diplomat or he would receive more pieces. The following day the diplomat was released. No Soviets were ever thereafter kidnapped in the region.

Americans, relying on customary diplomatic entreaties continued to be kidnapped, tortured and killed

This is how Rooskies respond to the game. The Greenpeas nitwits would be well-advised to take heed.

It was believed to have been the first direct conversation between Obama and Putin since the United States and its European allies began imposing sanctions on Putin´s inner circle and threatened to penalize key sectors of Russia´s economy. Russia´s reinforcement of troops near Ukraine has brought the total forces there to as many as 40,000, U.S. officials estimated on

President Obama´s first salary as a community organizer was paid by a Catholic group and his earliest social justice work was rooted in Catholic social doctrine. He identified with Cardinal Joseph Bernardin, then Chicago´s archbishop, whose consistent ethic of life encompassed a dedication to the poor, a concern over the human costs of war, and opposition to the death penalty. You could imagine that at his meeting with Pope Francis on Thursday, the president was tempted to ask: Why can´t these American bishops get along with me?
