WASHINGTON, October 7, 2013 — A march is coming to Washington this weekend that might make the lawmakers on both sides of the aisle take notice and rethink all of the political grandstanding in order to gain campaign contributions for themselves and their party, yet are hurting real Americans. On Sunday October 13, 2013 the Million Vet March is going to take place t 9:00 a.m. at the World War II Memorial. The protest has been organized by individuals with various connections to the military, either as children of veterans, spouses of veterans or those who have served themselves, who are outraged and deeply disappointed that individuals who have served in the military have been blocked from the memorials honoring their service across the country.

The Spite House is surely calling ABC, CBS, CNN and the rest of its propaganda outlets to order them not to cover the veterans. "If you want future access to Prissydent Obama and invitations to lavish Spite House parties, ignore the Vets." When Valerie Jarrett speaks, the ObamaNews networks listen.
Also certain that Colin Powell will not be among the veterans.
Go vets!! America is once again in need of your services.
If I can drag my butt out of bed Saturday morning (never a sure thing), I will go downtown and support the Veterans. To close any of Our monuments is a disgrace.
And I still say what the truckers are planning is noble but misguided. The reporting on that will be "Truckers Cause Massive Traffic Jam, Local Drivers Angered." Their message will be totally lost and ignored.
I don´t understand. After all the crap Obama and his socialist thugs have ben pulling in this country, our old vets go ballistic over blocking a monument? Where were they during Fast and Furious? Where were they during Benghazi? What about blocking the keystone pipeline? Where were they during the last election? I could go on and on but what´s the point? We could have shut this crap down last January but too many conservatives insist on perfection or nothing. I adore our old vets, lordie, I was raised by one, but, you and I know, the media won´t let this be anything more than a few geriatric temper tantrums.
The truckers plan to be there on Friday, if I recall correctly. They want people to have he code T2SDA on their vehicles so that they know to cooperate with them. If you are going on Friday, be prepared with the code. And more power to you!
I told my 28 year old son last night while watching an evening news program to remember what is happening now. It´s what civil wars are made of. It´s what this country was made of. One way or the other, the truth tellers must win and make sure the story is not corrupted in any following generation.
#10. You´ve got to wonder at the intelligence of a "Commander in Chief" that continually does everything he can to p-ss off those in the military. Can anyone say Military Coup? (Well, actually no. He would pronounce it coop.)
#17, you must be new here. Perhaps you are just waking up to reality. Fast and Furious, Benghazi, the keystone pipeline and many others - missed, distorted or spiked by the "kneepad media" - they´ve all been covered here in quantity and detail.
Finally, Conservatives don´t seek perfection, nor a utopia - they know that is unachievable. What they seek, what I seek, is freedom. Not anarchy but the reasoned liberty our founders fought and died for and left preserved for us in our founding documents. They did their part in bringing us liberty, now we must do our part to preserve it for our children and grandchildren.
House and Senate negotiators have reached agreement on an $85 billion package to fund the government past Jan. 15, avoid another federal shutdown and end the cycle of budget crises that have dominated Washington for much of the past three years. The deal did not include a key priority of House Democrats who wanted an extension of long-term benefits for the unemployed. But Democrats said they would continue to press Republicans on the issue in hopes of preventing more than 1 million people from losing their unemployment checks at the end of the month.
Former President George W. Bush, as the American left gleefully observed, was booed by some in the audience at the memorial for Nelson Mandela at the First National Bank in Soweto, Johannesburg on Tuesday. President Barack Obama, in contrast, received a standing ovation--in which, Twitchy notes, Bush joined enthusiastically. Set aside for the moment the fact that Bush has always comported himself with poise and character regarding his successor--a respect that has rarely been reciprocated by Democrats, before or since.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry on Tuesday firmly criticized the White House for publishing what it said was a false version of the interim nuclear agreement reached early Sunday between Iran and the six world powers. “What has been released by the website of the White House as a fact sheet is a one-sided interpretation of the agreed text in Geneva and some of the explanations and words in the sheet contradict the text of the Joint Plan of Action, and this fact sheet has unfortunately been translated and released in the name of the Geneva agreement by certain media, which is
Caught flat-footed by the challenges of building the financial-management and accounting parts of the U.S. government´s new online marketplace for health insurance, officials rushed to hire a familiar contractor without seeking competing bids, according to government procurement documents reviewed by Reuters. The documents dated in August - less than two months before the opening of online marketplaces established by President Barack Obama´s landmark healthcare law - showed the agency in charge had only "recently learned" that building the financial management functions was "beyond (its) currently available resources."
Politico’s publication of a screed against Wisconsin GOP Gov. Scott Walker by Ian Murphy, a left-wing writer who is outspoken about his hatred for United States military members, has prompted a backlash against the publication by some in the military community--especially new recruit Trevor Chase. Chase, 18, is a conservative Wisconsinite and freshman at the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh, majoring in radio, television and film communications while minoring in military science. “I’m currently in ROTC and I’m going to sign today, actually, to be in the National Guard and do basic [training] and AIT [Advanced Individual Training] this summer
WASHINGTON — Congresswoman Grace Meng, a freshman Democrat representing the New York City borough of Queens, was hit in the head and robbed in Washington but was not seriously injured and is back to work. Meng said Wednesday that she suffered a bruise on her chin and scratches on her arm and knee in the attack Tuesday night near Eastern Market in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. She underwent a CAT scan at George Washington University Hospital.
SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — A Simi Valley pastor says he found several Bibles labeled as “fiction” at a Ventura County Costco store. Caleb Kaltenbach was shopping at Costco, 2660 Park Center Drive, on Nov. 15 when he noticed the peculiar labeling of the holy book. Kaltenbach, a pastor at the non-denominational Discovery Church, took a picture of the “$14.99 Fiction” Bible, and tweeted it out to his nearly 1,300 followers. “Costco has Bibles for sale under the genre of FICTION. Hmmmm,” he said.Costco officials declined to comment on the matter when questioned by CBS2/KCAL9.
Country stars Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley mocked Obamacare (in song, of course) during their opening act at the Country Music Awards on Wednesday night, to thunderous laughter from the audience. After “twerking” his back, Paisley is led through the user-friendly sign up process that registered a whole six people on its first day. “Oh it’s great,” Underwood gushes. “I started signing up last Thursday, and I’m almost done!”
Everyone is focusing on Obamacare because it is such an obvious disaster, but in fact, it is but a microcosm of Barack Obama´s entire presidency. Obamacare is Obama unmasked. Aren´t some of you tired of making lame excuses for him that only serve to make things worse? He has made a mess of nearly everything his policies have touched, and he´s mostly avoided the blame; but he owns Obamacare, and he has nowhere to hide.
Congressional Republicans have stoked consumer fears and confusion with charges that the health care reform law is causing insurers to cancel existing policies and will force many people to pay substantially higher premiums next year for coverage they don’t want. That, they say, violates President Obama’s pledge that if you like the insurance you have, you can keep it. Mr. Obama clearly misspoke when he said that. By law, insurers cannot continue to sell policies that don’t provide the minimum benefits and consumer protections required as of next year. So they’ve sent cancellation notices to
Giuliani said de Blasio owes it to city cops to make amends for a misguided -- if politically beneficial -- opposition to the NYPD´s stop and frisk policies. "This man has foisted on the city of New York a totally phony claim, and he´s maligned a great police department with his claim of racial profiling," he said, calling de Blasio´s argument that stop and frisk systematically overtargets minorities "outrageous." De Blasio has said he would drop the city´s appeal of Judge Shira Scheindlin´s ruling on NYPD reforms if he becomes mayor --
Food stamp recipients face a massive benefit cut set to kick in when stimulus funds expire Friday. The nationwide cut “is equivalent to about 16 meals a month for a family of three,” according to a Center on Budget and Policy Priorities analysis using the USDA’s “Thrifty Food Plan.” CBPP called the roughly $5 billion annual cut to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program “unprecedented” in “depth and breadth.” “If you look across the world, riots always begin typically the same way: when people cannot afford to eat food,” Margarette Purvis, the president and CEO of the Food Bank..
On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by
The Obama State Department has finally released a second round of photos revealing the harrowing devastation wrought by a terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. The new photographs depict rampant damage to the consulate. They show charred walls, smoldering fires, Arabic graffiti defacing exterior walls, and scattered debris throughout. The extent of the damage would lead any reasonably serious person to conclude that this was a cold, calculated attack, carefully coordinated to mark the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. Unfortunately for the American people, the Obama-Clinton-Rice cabal that led to the Benghazi cover-up was
A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned. Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
A “presidential selfie” featuring President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, and Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service began making the rounds this morning, but it’s the person not included in the frame who caught everyone’s attention: As anyone with two eyes and a Twitter account has noticed, Michelle Obama does not appear amused. Of course, though a picture says a thousand words, not all of those words are necessarily true. FLOTUS might not have even known the photo was taking place. Or she could disapprove of funeral selfies. Either way.
Just how much do many Hollywood liberals hate conservatives? In an interview with Playboy, Ben Affleck said, "When I watch a guy [on film] I know is a big Republican, part of me thinks, I probably wouldn’t like this person if I met him": PLAYBOY: You developed a political profile campaigning for presidential candidates Al Gore, John Kerry and Barack Obama. How did that come about? AFFLECK: I grew up in a house with a mother who was a teacher and a Freedom Rider—very left-wing Democrats living in a heterogeneous working-class neighborhood. I picked up a lot of those values there, and I
MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry opened her program over the weekend with a commentary about the Affordable Care Act’s colloquial moniker: “Obamacare.” She said that the word was originally created as a “derogatory term,” designed by white men as a way to delegitimize President Barack Obama and his achievement. However, she said that the term will soon be synonymous with all of Obama’s accomplishments and she urged her audience to use the term with pride. “I want to talk today about a controversial word. It’s a word that has been with us for years, and like it or not, it’s indelibly
Barack Obama has arrived in South Africa to lead the American delegation at a memorial service for former South African President Nelson Mandela in Johannesburg. [Snip] But Mr Clinton, Mr Carter and his wife Rosalynn have all traveled separately to the event. President Obama will make remarks on Nelson Mandela´s legacy during a memorial service Tuesday for the late South African freedom fighter, officials said Monday. "We do expect President Obama to speak as part of the program," said Ben Rhodes, deputy national security adviser for strategic communications. The president and first lady Michelle Obama departed Monday for Johannesburg, where a Mandela memorial service will be held in a soccer stadium. Obama, who will also spend time with the Mandela family, is not scheduled to hold any bilateral meetings with foreign leaders while in South Africa, Rhodes said. Rhodes also said the
All three networks on Monday morning highlighted the appearance of the Obamas at the Kennedy Center Honors, but only ABC fawned over "fashion win" of First Lady. Lara Spencer enthused that " one of the stars of the show was Michelle Obama." An excited Spencer explained that Mrs. Obama looked "absolutely ravishing in a flowing teal gown as she accompanied President Obama." The co-host declared, "Another big fashion win for the First Lady. CBS This Morning offered a full report on the various performers who were honored, but co-anchor Charlie Rose avoided ABC´s superlatives.
Former Secretary of State Colin Powell believes the United States should have a socialized, single-payer healthcare system similar to those in Canada and Europe. “I think universal health care is one of the things we should really be focused on, and I hope that will happen,” Powell reportedly said last week. “Whether it’s Obamacare, or son of Obamacare, I don’t care. As long as we get it done.” The Puget Sound Business Journal reported Powell´s remarks at the Prostate Cancer Survivors Celebration Breakfast at the University of Washington´s Cancer Research Center. Powell, the Republican who supported Barack Obama during the last two presidential
Say goodbye to the 60-watt incandescent bulb. This year manufacturers started phasing out 100w and 75w bulbs. On January 1 it will become illegal to import or manufacture traditional 60w and 40w bulbs too. Time to stock up? Not so fast. First, check out Cree’s energy-sipping new 75-watt replacement bulb. I used to be outraged over the federal government’s draconian moves to outlaw traditional lightbulbs. For 100 years we’ve lived and thrived under the warm glow of incandescent lightbulbs. Aside from the fact that 90% of the electricity used by the bulbs is radiated in the form of heat rather than
