Benghazi’s Al Qaeda Connection
Daily Beast, by Eli Lake

Original Article

Posted By:Desert Fox, 10/7/2013 5:30:07 PM

The U.S. government is now acknowledging, at least indirectly, a significant al Qaeda connection to the 9-11 anniversary attacks on the U.S. mission and CIA station in Benghazi. On Monday, the State Department designated the Mohammed Jamal Network (MJN) and its founder, Mohammed Jamal as terrorists. The Wall Street Journal first reported on October 1, 2012 that fighters affiliated with MJN participated in the Benghazi attacks. The Daily Beast and other news outlets have since confirmed the report. Seth Jones, the associate director for the international security and defense policy

ObamaCare´s Potemkin Village
Website Written In Belarus?
Investor´s Business Daily, by Editorial    Original Article

Debacle: U.S. intelligence agencies report that developers linked to the Belarus government helped create the Healthcare.gov website and may have inserted malicious code making it vulnerable to cyberattacks and hacking. The disastrous rollout of Healthcare.gov was bad enough. But as if Americans need another reason to avoid Healthcare.gov, we now hear that the Obama administration, through the Department of Health and Human Services, has indirectly contracted with developers in the worker´s paradise of Belarus, a former Soviet republic still closely tied to Russia, to write some of the software code used for the website. The Washington Free Beacon´s Bill Gertz quotes one

The Jobless Care Act
Wall Street Journal, by Editorial    Original Article

There are 7.8 million Americans working part-time who want full-time work, including a fry cook whose restaurant cut his hours to avoid Affordable Care Act mandates and confronted President Obama in an online Google Q&A last week: "We can´t survive. It´s not a living." Mr. Obama changed the subject to raising the minimum wage. But he can´t dodge reality forever as the evidence piles up that ObamaCare is harming the labor market. On Tuesday no less than the Congressional Budget Office reported that the health law is causing Americans to work less or not at all, in a remarkable

Dept. Of Corrections: Leading Democrats said ObamaCare would create 4 million jobs by cutting health costs and unleashing entrepreneurs. Now we learn the promise was off by 6.5 million — in the wrong direction. Here´s what Rep. Nancy Pelosi, the top Democratic in the House, had to say about ObamaCare in February 2010: "It will create 4 million jobs, 400,000 jobs almost immediately — jobs, again, in the health care industry but in the entrepreneurial world as well." Pelosi was citing a paper released a month earlier by the left-wing Center for American Progress, which claimed the law would lower health care costs,

Bozell Takes Aim at GOP Leadership
National Review Online, by Andrew Stiles    Original Article

Conservative activist Brent Bozell says it’s time for Republican leaders in Congress to step aside. His organization, ForAmerica, announced “an aggressive, six-figure social media and digital ad campaign” on Tuesday against top Republicans in the House and Senate between now and the midterm elections in November. “It’s a simple proposition,” Bozell tells National Review Online. “The Republican leadership that has been championing conservative principles and promising action has just failed miserably. A day doesn’t go by where they’re not surrendering on something, and it is the sense of conservatives around the country that they have to step down, that it’s time

NAACP Official: GOP Uses

The same NAACP official who called South Carolina Republican senator Tim Scott a ventriloquist’s “dummy” is at it again. On Tuesday, Reverend William Barber, director of the North Carolina NAACP, described minorities who support conservative causes “mouthpieces.” “They frantically seek out people of color to become mouthpieces for their particular agenda,” Barber said on a conference call. He also addressed the Scott comments, which he had previously defended. He said his remarks had “nothing to do with color,” because they were intended to apply to anyone who supported Republican platforms, such as South Carolina governor Nikki Haley and North Carolina governor Pat

Global warming is unequivocal and human influence has been the dominant cause since the mid-20th century, according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The IPCC´s full and final findings on the state of the planet’s climate have been published and the report, which was put together for the UN, says that limiting climate change will require ‘substantial and sustained’ reductions of greenhouse gas emissions. The findings of the report, which includes the comment that global warming is ´almost definitely´ caused by humans, were approved by the member governments of the IPCC in September. The final version has now been released to

After the 2012 election, Mitt Romney’s loss prompted questions about the future of conservatism. A year later, the ongoing drama of Obamacare’s failures has seen similar concerns voiced regarding the future of liberalism. So what, exactly, do we mean when we talk about “liberalism”? Conservatives used to equate it with the New Deal and Great Society, with the social and cultural liberalism of the late 1960s mixed in. Recently, conservatives have dug deeper and found a different foundation for modern liberalism: the Progressive movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The assault on progressivism started with the writings

Leadership has been looking for a plan that could draw Republican support for a debt limit increase, and Boehner urged his members to coalesce around a plan. Coca-Cola´s Super Bowl ad has sparked both outrage and kudos on Twitter and Facebook. The ad, entitled "America the Beautiful," features the patriotic song sung in eight languages. The ad shows people of different ethnicities. The ad also shows two dads rollerskating with their daughter. This was the first Super Bowl ad to feature a gay family, according to GLAAD, a lesbian gay, bisexual and transgender media advocacy organization. The inclusion of different languages sparked comments on Coca-Cola´s Facebook page calling the ad a disgrace and unpatriotic. "Speak English or go home," said one commenter on the page. President Obama, outlining his push Tuesday to bring high-speed Internet access to more U.S. schools, said Americans should demand the same level of technology in learning facilities as they do in coffee shops. “In a country where we expect free Wi-Fi with our coffee, we should definitely demand it in our schools,” Obama said in Adelphi, Md., highlighting $750 million in new commitments from private companies to put digital learning labs in schools. Under his plan, the Federal Communications Commission will also spend $2 billion to connect 20 million students to wireless technologies.

The Congressional Budget Office estimated on Tuesday that the Affordable Care Act will reduce the number of full-time workers by 2.5 million over the next decade. That is mostly a good thing, a liberating result of the law. Of course, Republicans immediately tried to brand the findings as “devastating” and stark evidence of President Obama’s health care reform as a failure and a job killer. It is no such thing. (SNIP) The new law will free people, young and old, to pursue careers or retirement without having to worry about health coverage.

As the commentary around the recent deaths of Nelson Mandela, Amiri Baraka and Pete Seeger made abundantly clear, most of what Americans think they know about capitalism and communism is arrant nonsense. This is not surprising, given our country’s history of Red Scares designed to impress that anti-capitalism is tantamount to treason. In 2014, though, we are too far removed from the Cold War-era threat of thermonuclear annihilation to continue without taking stock of the hype we’ve been made, despite Harry Allen’s famous injunction, to believe. So, here are seven bogus claims people make about communism and capitalism. 1. Only

I don´t believe Woody Allen is a child molester. But when I read Dylan Farrow´s letter in The New York Times accusing her adoptive father of sexual abuse, I didn´t think she was making it up. I believe it´s a scenario she´s come to believe after it was implanted in her impressionistic head as a kid. On March 18, 1993, after a Connecticut prosecutor declined to charge Allen after a three-month investigation of the same allegations, I interviewed him at his Fifth Ave. apartment. If they — we live in a country where there should be free agency.
