The family of an al-Qaeda terrorist who was captured by American Delta Force commandos has described the moment that he was snatched off the streets of Tripoli, Libya. Abu Anas al-Libi was seized by a convoy of men armed with handguns outside his home. They smashed the window of his car and pulled him into a black Mercedes, which sped away, Abdullah al-Raghie told Agance France-Presse. He was quickly flown out of Libya and is likely to be extradited to New York to stand trial for helping to plan the 1998 U.S. Embassy bombing in Nairobi, Kenya.

How many times have we seen blazing headlines gloryifying Obama only to learn the real truth within days or weeks.I really don´t get the plan on the Shabobbys, swimming ashore against a bunch of well armed terror goons.

As far as the Libyan terrorist, who knows what he´s done lately and where will they find witnesses to prosecute him.

Climate change is a form of "extreme, horrific, longterm, widespread violence" akin to mass murder or nuclear war, claims American writer and cultural historian Rebecca Solnit in the Guardian´s Environment pages. Ms Solnit--"the author of numerous books about art, landscape, public and collective life, ecology, politics, hope, meandering, reverie and memory"--argues that "carbon barons" like ExxonMobil are in the same league as nuclear powers which hold the option of "destroying quite a lot of life on Earth." Environmentalist Duncan Stewart broke down live on air this morning, refusing to discuss the topic of climate change unless he was given 10 minutes of unopposed airtime to speak about the issue. Stewart, who himself used to be a presenter on the Irish Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTE) public broadcaster, can be heard at the link below shouting the presenter down, demanding more time, and likening the issue of climate change to the Holocaust. The Irish Independent called the episode "bizarre", as Stewart threatened to get up and leave, mid-discussion: "Just minutes into the interview, he became annoyed as host Shane

President Barack Obama will sign an executive order and a presidential ´memorandum´ on Tuesday targeting federal government contractors´ records on pay equity for female employees. But his own administration is still facing tough questions about why women can´t expect to earn as much as men in the White House. [Snip] The White House did not respond Monday to questions about whether it will issue a report dissecting how men and women, or a variety of racial groups, fare in its salary pool. That may be because 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue has never paid the same levels of earnings to men and

A new report from Gallup shows that Americans without medical insurance now make up 15.6 percent of the population, the lowest level since 2008. But the organization hedged its bets when MailOnline asked how Medicaid enrollments might taint its conclusions. Underwater sounds detected by a ship searching the southern Indian Ocean for the missing Malaysia Airlines jet are consistent with the pings from aircraft black boxes, an Australian official said, calling it ´a most promising lead´. Angus Houston, the head of a joint agency co-ordinating the search, warned that it could take days to confirm whether the signals picked up by the Australian navy ship Ocean Shield are indeed from the black boxes that belonged to Flight MH370, but called the discovery very encouraging. ´Clearly this is a most promising lead, and probably in the search so far, it´s probably the

In Dearborn, Mich., home to over 40,000 Americans of Arab descent, some Muslim parents have complained about flyers handed out at public schools advertising an Easter egg hunt at a local Presbyterian church. The Muslim parents assert that the flyers – emblazoned with the word “Eggstravaganza!” – violate the separation of church and state widely ascribed to the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause, reports the Detroit Free Press. Students at three Dearborn elementary schools received the flyers. A large number of Muslim students attend the schools. LONDON - Peaches Geldof, the wild-child second daughter of concert organizer Bob Geldof who worked as a model, a television presenter and a fashion writer and filled the pages of British tabloids with her late-night antics, has died at age 25. There was no immediate word on the cause of her death at her home in Wrotham, Kent, southeast England. Her father said in a statement Monday: "Peaches has died. We are beyond pain." "She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us," he said. "Writing 'was' destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever."

Democrats are facing a senior problem that could get even worse this year. The party has traditionally had trouble with older voters, losing the group aged 65 and over by 21 points in 2010 — when Republicans picked up 63 seats — and by 12 points in the 2012 presidential race. Seniors are the GOP’s most reliable voting bloc in midterm years, turning out in higher numbers than Democratic base voters. A recent Gallup poll showed seniors have become even more Republican over the last two decades; in 2013, 48 percent considered themselves Republican. That spells trouble for Democrats, who are already facing
