In Obama’s war on leaks,

Washington Post, by Leonard Downie Jr.,

Original Article

Leonard Downie, a former executive editor of The Washington Post, is the Weil family professor of journalism at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University. This article is based on his report “The Obama Administration and the Press,” forthcoming Thursday from the Committee to Protect Journalists. In the Watergate era, the Nixon administration’s telephone wiretaps were the biggest concern for journalists and sources worried about government surveillance. That was one of the reasons why Bob Woodward met with FBI official Mark Felt (a.k.a. “Deep Throat”) in an underground parking garage in Arlington, and why he and Carl

Re the Insider Threat Program.

With the fall of The Wall we got access to the STASI records. They revealed that quite literally half of all East Germans were busy reporting on the other half.

Is this what we have building here?

The media gets most of their story narratives straight from WH leakers.It´s only bad when a leak leads to Obama getting embarassed.
In this this case it goes back to the reporter who said Obama worked with Israel on a covert operation against Iran. Can´t have the US knowingly working with Israel. That´s treason in the left and muslim´s eyes.

If this were true, Benghazi would have been reported, along with 0bama birth certificate fakes, etc. This is a lie, like all that they say now, to cover up their direct source, which is the talking points given to them from the White House. [All you have to do is listen to the daily montage of any given "story" that Rush plays on his radio show to see the lock step they follow with 0bama]. And, it was NOT the Patriot Act as President Bush legally followed it, it´s the misuse and culpability on their parts for covering up all crimes by 0bama, and his terrorist leanings.

Solipsism. It’s a fancy word that means that the self is the only existing reality and that other entities, including other people, are representations of one’s own self and can have no independent existence. A person who follows this philosophy may believe that others see the world as he does and will behave as he would.It’s a quality often found in narcissists, people who greatly admire themselves — such as a presidential candidate confident that he is a better speechwriter than his speechwriters, knows more about policy than his policy directors, and is a better political director than his political

A Russia Today anchor quit live on air Wednesday, declaring she cannot work for a station that “whitewashes the actions of Vladimir Putin.” Liz Wahl, who works in the network’s Washington DC bureau, said her grandparents came to the United States to escape Soviet oppression. “And that is why personally I cannot be part of a station funded by the Russian government that whitewashes the action of Putin,” she said, reading from a statement. “I’m proud to be an American and believe in disseminating the truth. And that is why after this newscast I’m resigning.” Earlier, Ms. Wahl had tweeted:

Last Thursday, a San Diego Police Department detective fired into a home before serving a drug warrant, wounding two men. The detective apparently attempted to knock on a window, causing the window to shatter. She then says she saw one of the men reaching for a gun. There were six people inside the house. None of them had a gun.In searching for more coverage of the story, I found a number of other recent and troubling police shootings in the San Diego area. Dems turn on Obama nominee;

Senate Democrats killed the filibuster for nominations because they wanted to be able to confirm the president´s choices for top administration positions even if Republicans were united in opposition. From now on, Democrats ruled, nominations would be confirmed by a simple majority vote. With 55 Democrats in the Senate, and as few as 51 required for confirmation, the change virtually guaranteed success for the president´s nominees. But even a rule change was not enough to save the nomination of Debo Adegbile, the former NAACP Legal Defense Fund official who was the president´s choice to head the Justice Department´s Civil Rights Division.

Hillary Clinton, the Democrats’ most formidable potential nominee for President, has a number of problems going into 2016, if she decides to run. There will be the standard “Clinton baggage,” which most millennials don’t care about — they have their own, much cooler scandals to obsess over — and upon which most baby boomers have already wrought their judgments.There are complex domestic issues that she’ll have to address — does she think Obamacare is the best way to solve health insurance inadequacies? And does she think President Obama’s policies have effectively addressed income inequality and unemployment?

Money — it’s the root of all evil. Behind every great fortune lies a great crime. Or at least an unfair advantage.That’s the gist of the liberals’ creed and justification for their war on wealth. The other half of their view holds that the poor are innocent victims of life’s rigged game.Their narrative of evil winners and noble losers clears the way for self-heroic redeemers. They will deliver social justice by meting out punishment and spreading the wealth around. Their virtue entitles them to power.It sounds like a comic-book view of life, but it’s the reality of liberalism today. And

So, Lois Lerner still won´t talk about her role in the illegal targeting and harassment by the IRS of conservative and Tea Party groups seeking 501(c)(4) tax exemptions. Lerner appeared for a second time Wednesday before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and claimed her Fifth Amendment right not to incriminate herself. It isn´t hard to figure out why Lerner´s lips are sealed. First, she knows the House of Representatives can cite her for contempt of Congress, but Attorney General Eric Holder would decide whether she is prosecuted on that charge. Via Matt Lewis, here’s Maverick once again demonstrating that “cordial relationship” in politico-speak means “two people who can’t publicly admit to hating each other but obviously do.” And it’s a cheap shot. Cruz’s point yesterday at CPAC was that Dole, McCain, and Romney lost because they weren’t conservative enough. That’s not because they’re gutless — he said specifically that they were “good” and “decent” men — but because they’re not committed, full-throated ideologues, even less so when they’re fighting for purple states in a national election. We can debate whether that’s true but there’s nothing offensive in raising the subject.

Where Lois Lerner goes, drama follows. On Wednesday, the former IRS officer again invoked the Fifth before the House Oversight Committee. That precipitated a heated exchange between the committee’s Republican chairman, Darrell Issa, and Democratic ranking member Elijah Cummings, who called the hearings “un-American.” And that spat has become the story. No doubt that is exactly what Cummings had in mind. Because it distracts attention from the substance of the hearings — and from the questions raised by e-mails and public remarks Lois Lerner wrote, received or made when she was IRS Director of Tax Exempt Organizations. WASHINGTON — Charles G. and David H. Koch, the billionaire brothers who are perhaps the best-known patrons of conservative Republican politics, are bespectacled and in their 70s. They look genial enough. But Democrats are embarking on a broad effort that aims to unmask the press-shy siblings and portray them, instead, as a pair of villains bent on wrecking progressive politics. On Thursday, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is starting a digital campaign that will use Internet ads and videos, as well as social media, to tie Republican Senate candidates to the policies and actions of the Koch brothers.
