Country Club Republicans Must Go
American Thinker, by Richard Winchester

Original Article

Country club Republicans seem to be clueless about Democrats. Although country-club Republicans are reluctant to criticize Democrats of any stripe, they don´t mind attacking other Republicans, like Ted Cruz. Some Republicans provided Chris Wallace with opposition research against Cruz. As Sarah Palin noted, country club Republicans eat other Republicans. John McCain´s assault on Ted Cruz in the Senate after Cruz´s filibuster against Obamacare shows just how far "moderate" Republicans will go to eat other Republicans. Country clubbers´ tendency to fold before Democrats is so frequent that it no longer occasions much comment. McCain´s blast against Cruz, however, has made GOP country clubbers´

There may be some slight, anecdotal evidence that such a mentality pervades this establishment from time to time.

The media has always been inthe tank for the left at least as far back as FDR,maybe earlier. We´ve won elections in spite of that.Between Reagan and the Bushs we had 5 terms of a republican president.A lot of this was well before the new media came along.People in this country can read between the lines regardless of what the media says.

I remember when the only voices for the right were Sapphire,Will and Bob Novack and they were quickly identified as conservatives,so nobody would get mixed up.

The media went to the mat to defend the cad Bill Cliton, when any other president wouldhave had to resign after having an affair in the Oval Office.

There´s few people who have bigger egos than McCain and the idea of ayoung whippersnapper like Cruz being the party spokesman had to rattle that.Look at where Rubio is now following in the footsteps of McCain, his career is probably over.Paul Ryan is headed to the same cliff for backing amnesty.

Whenever you compromise, the left comes away with at least a partial win and that has to stop.

George Bush #1 and his associates were much more vicious opponents of Ronald Reagan than democrats were. Reagan finally beat them and the GOP party. The same situation exists today. Tea Party volunteers proved in 2010 it wasn´t all that hard to beat democrats-including democrats who claimed to be Republicans. Since Nov. 2010, Country Club Republicans (who are basically democrats) have put all their effort not into defeating democrats but in co-opting and silencing the right of center grassroots. Country Club Republicans protect democrats and prevent us from saving this country.

It was the CC Repubs like the Bushes who made nice-nice to the Clintons, etc. instead of prosecuting them for their many crimes and deceptions. That´s why we needed Gingrich instead of Romney.

As a Warton/UP applied economics grad during Reagan´s GOP primary against Bush 1, it was painful to see Bush use Paul Harvey´s "Voodoo Economics" catch-phrase against Reaganonomics and Reagan. Reagan forgave Bush for the insults and chose Bush as his VP in both elections.

Bush 1 turned-out to be an impressive military CIC, but a poor applied economist. His son, Bush 2, continued the spending legacy to the end; however he did straighten-up and fly right much of the time as a warrior. Heeding the Friedman advice and reducing taxes and interest rates, Bush 2 avoided the worst of 9/11´s economic effects...

Only to be torpedoed by Pelosi´s incessant gloom & doom media bliz speechifying and Paulson´s bamboozling lies to destroy our capitalist banking system in order to save it.

Like Bush 1, Bush 2 missed at least 50 good sound opportunities for a Presidential veto.

Country Club Republicans make their living off government largesse, which is larger under democratic administrations. It is a fraud that the Republican Party is the party of big business, at least not big government contract business.

Article is banal and trite, belaboring the obvious. Since its inception, the GOP has always been liberal and secular. Our only principled conservative party, since founding, was the agrarian rural Jeffersonian Democrats. Then in ´32, FDR seized the Progressive banner aided by the
urban D machines, big labor and the gross ineptitude of the Hoover Administration; which incidentally incubated large segments of the New Deal. The rest is history. The fight since then, has been over who holds the Progressive mantle which is why nothing fundamental has changed in DC for 80 years. The ´country clubbers´ are your classic crony capitalists, WS and Corporate hustlers, eternally buying influence and on the take; contemptuous of principle. Adam Smith warned of them as enemies of liberty willing to sell out for a price.

Legal Racket: Wehn Laywers were shaking down the tobacco industry in the 1990´s, it was clear that it was just a matter of when they´d loot again. The only question was who would be the next mark. That picture is clearing up. The list of potential victims that acquisitive trial lawyers could separate from their money includes the oil and gas industry, the alcohol trade, drug companies and the firearms business. All would be fine trophies for the plaintiffs´ attorneys. It appears, however, that the next victim will be the food industry. Gun Control: In a massive display of civil disobedience, tens of thousands of state residents have refused to register what the left calls assault weapons, instantly making them criminals guilty of a felony. The legacy of the Connecticut residents who used their privately owned firearms to help overthrow the tyrannical colonial rule of King George III, who probably considered their muskets the military-style assault weapon of the day, apparently lives on. Connecticuters in the tens, perhaps hundreds, of thousands have refused to comply with a law, adopted after the December 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School, requiring them to register what

Radical Politics: The Obama administration isn´t satisfied with locking in votes for Democrats by giving amnesty to illegal immigrants. Now it´s also trying to unlock ex-con´s votes through felon re-enfranchisement. In a Georgetown University speech, Attorney General Eric Holder last week called state laws barring convicted felons from voting racist measures that "strip African-Americans of their most fundamental rights." President Obama predicted at the House Democratic retreat on Friday that "10 years from now, five years from now" people will look back on the Affordable Care Act as "a monumental achievement." He´s right in the limited sense that, given the delays he has sanctioned so far, it will take years before anyone can tell if it works. Now that we´ve had more time to parse this week´s announcement of a second delay of the employer mandate, the political reason for the carve-out is becoming clearer. Far from the economic relief that the White House claimed, the rule is meant to

Sen. It makes their heads explode,” Cruz told radio host Mark Levin Thursday. Cruz tried to filibuster a vote in the Senate to raise the debt ceiling Wednesday, forcing the approval of 60 senators instead of a simple majority. That

Never mind that this is the food aid program that has tripled in cost and doubled in participation in just the last decade.
