Park Rangers Ordered
to ‘Make Life Difficult’
During Shutdown

Washington Free Beacon, by Staff

Original Article

National Park Service rangers are being ordered to “make life difficult” during the government shutdown, according to the Washington Times. After the shutdown began, park police have been barring tourists from a number of popular attractions nationwide, including the WWII memorial. Even privately-owned landmarks, such as Mount Vernon, are being told by the National Park Service to close their doors. The Times reported: The Park Service appears to be closing streets on mere whim and caprice. The rangers even closed the parking lot at Mount Vernon, where the plantation home of George Washington is a favorite tourist destination. That was after they barred

Since the msm will not report this I ask all who are able post this to your Facebook page. These barricades and the people to erect/man them took planning. This is obama´s shutdown.

No doubt Obama gave the order to the Secret Service to make it tough on anybody they imagined might be a tourist from out of town.

We need to start interrogating those guys before they get sent to various field offices.

One of them is in a hospital ~ nurses can always use more money ~ time to get inside and ´talk about it´.

Easily the most petty, childish behavior I´ve ever seen. There are a lot of foreign tourists who would be visiting these destinations. They´ll all go home and tell their friends what a-holes we are. What an image we´re cultivating.

I just recently went to Mammoth Cave National Park. I fully expected all the cave tours to be shut down but there were barricades in front of EVERY trail. There are never any rangers on those - they are there to be walked or biked on. It took time to put barricades in front of every access point on every trail. I was appalled. My congressman will hear from me.

Likewise, the three entirely unattended, unlighted, unfenced airstrips on the NC Outer Banks are closed by Notices to airmen. Three thousand feet of asphalt, closed, even though no services.or fuel or even flush toilets are ever available there, and visits by park service vehicles are quite unusual.
This is nothing but pure spite.

Someone wrote today that they´d visited the barricades at the WWII memorial that the veterans had "stormed" in their wheelchairs the other day. The barricades have now been wired together.

That memorial is always open to the public, to be freely visited, walked through. It is NEVZE closed. Short of erecting barricades, there is no way to close it.

Obie is a shameful, despicable person.

BTW, all of these people saying they don´t understand why Obama is doing this should go see the 2016. Obama like his daddy is an anti-western marxist who wants to see America burn.

These kinds of spiteful acts are more befitting an angry spoiled child, not the President of the United States. Obama and his followers have the mindset similar to those Germans who so easily and enthusiastically bought into Hitler´s final solution. Some people should never be put into positions of power over others. It brings out the worst in them. Obama and his fellow travelers are those kind of people. They lose all sense of humanity for love of the state.

I think it´s time for bus loads of Americans to storm the "District of Corruption". We could start by storming a closed memorial - WWII memorial is a good one for the symbolism. A concert of songs from Les Miserables could be sung. My favorite is Do you Hear the People Sing, and it so appropriate for these times, especially since there are already Barrycades. The singers could stand on a stage built over the Barrycades and sing:

"Do you hear the people sing?
Singing a song of angry men?
It is the music of a people
Who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes!

Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Somewhere beyond the barricade
Is there a world you long to see?

Then join in the fight
That will give you the right to be free!!"

Although Obama is a petulant, peevish little punk, this invective behavior reeks of Valerie Jarrett. She is Shakespeare´s Shrew, Mata Hari, Tokyo Rose, and Sampson´s Delilah homogenized into one human female.

Rumors of her tirades and temper tantrums in the depths of the White House have become legend. She is one evil Jezebel who lies like a Persian rug.

Obama probably had to go along with these current elementary school playground tactics to maintain his golf outings or AF1 privileges.

How many of these stories will the msm report? None. All the msm coverage will be stories of how minorities, women, children and those with “catastrophic” illnesses are hurting. The Republicans will be blamed no matter what Harry Reid says. Why would Harry want to help children with cancer when he can bash the Republicans. Democrats have become a disgusting party of degenerates.

The entire federal bureaucracy is lining up to back up Obama´s agenda of effectively destroying the constitutional republic he so despises.

The Park Rangers are just one small faction among the vast legions of government workers who see endlessly metastacizing government as in their personal interest and see "citizens" who want to shrink government as their mortal enemies.

The IRS plot to keep most "tea party" groups from participating in the recent election fully merits the dreaded "conspiracy" label.

So does the willful efforts of schemers in almost every other administrative branch of government to meekly acquiesce in the subversion of the constitution.

IRS, EPA, Environment, Education, Energy, Interior, Justice, Health......

We are moving toward a new two-party political system - The Tea Party and the Kool Aid Party.

These people are sick. Mentally ill.

Obama is more like a kid who pulls the wings off of flies or pours boiling water on cats (we all know what he did to dogs) and later moves onto murder.

He is evil, as is Jarret and this entire administration.

And Carney? I live for the day he says the wrong thing to someone and they wipe that stupid smile off his face. Hope someone´s there to video him crying like the little pu$$y he is. -

Obama: Childish and petty? No, he is a tyrant! This is how tyranny begins. Something is denied or taken away (access to parks) that really isn´t an actual necessity. People complain but don´t take a stand. Next up, an avalanche of orders from on high rolls over an increasing number of our rights and privileges and it is too late, tyranny is embedded. The park rangers are "just following orders" and thus it begins. The old folks stormed the barricades at the WWII monument, will we?

Ditto #6 at Yosemite. We didn´t actually plan our vacay there but we did want to drive through on California State Highway 120. It was open but when we got to the Park entrance right there on it, we were told we couldn´t stop, anywhere. We did stop to read interpretive signs and take pictures and at one stop a park ranger pulled up and told us we weren´t ´´allowed´´ to read those signs.

We moved along but he pulled out behind us and soon enough pulled into another wide spot with several parked cars and people out taking photos and flipped on his lights so he could keep them all there long enough to tell them all the same thing.....no stopping, no pictures, no reading, no enjoying. Bathrooms were roped off or barry-caded, and many trailheads and internal park roads had boulders rolled across them. Booths at both entrances were staffed, and we saw several park ranger patrols in the 3-hour drive.

We stopped again just outside the park when we found a national forest campground that looked open but park hosts (volunteers) stopped us there and told us that the national forests were now closed too and showed us a sign that they had been given that said the forests were closed as of Oct. 3rd.

The idiot Democrats think this will all be blamed on the Republicans, but it´s gonna backfire on them bigtime. We got our pictures and we stopped anyway when we wanted. But the service station at the end of Hwy 120 was PACKED with people spending their tourist dollars there instead of inside the park. Long live capitalism and American ingenuity!

There are three easy things we can do.

#1. Take lots and lots of pictures of the barricades and the federal employees.

#2. Politely ask ever federal employee to cite their statutory authority for denying citizens access to public lands normally open 24/7/365.

3. Spread the message ourselves via the social media.

I am not encouraged that these rangers and NPS employees are merely disgusted. They are still following orders to block and barricade their fellow citizens off of federal land. Land that these citizens own. The fellow citizens they are blocking pay their salary. The park rangers and every other person just ´following orders´ get nothing but scorn and contempt from me.

If only our Border Patrol was as adept and as eager as our intrepid Park Service to erect and enforce Barrycades to keep out illegal aliens. Looks like it´s a lot more fun (and easy) to keep out compliant, docile "documented citizens."

Perhaps we should take lessons from our undocumented invaders and start ripping off the government too.

I don´t know if it was the fluoride in the toothpaste or too much pharma stuff out there, but how come there are so many people willing to be employed to: listen to your ´phone conversations; read your mail; block access to War Memorials and state parks; disallow Catholic priests from saying mass, and on and on - oh yeah, I forgot, donning SWAT uniforms to clear out the neighborhood in Watertown, MA. There is such a lack of integrity or courage or something that´s making people act like petty tyrants to ordinary people just trying to live their lives.

I recently went through a one week furlough at my workplace. Half of the organization was on furlough one week, and the other half was on furlough the following. They never shutdown the business.

The Obama gang can keep the government open and still have furloughs. What they are doing is bogus. What percentage of the government can be on furlough before it has to be shutdown? 50%?

Has anyone tried challenging the government shutdown in court?

The government is restricting access to ´government land´, and expanding what is called government property by trying to shutdown state land and private land.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn´t this what agenda 21 is all about?

Never let a crisis go to waste.

Communism, fascism, nazism, socialism, statism, collectivism, dictatorial rules
are now in place, fully in place with the
new Communist medical takeover. Add in the
kicker of secret memos telling Park Rangers
to act like the SS Nazi storm troopers and
Commnist evil has arrived !
BAD DOG #31 tells the absurdity of all absurdities: folks are driving through a "shut down" Yosemite on a public highway,
stop to read a Yosemite Park historical sign
and are told by a Park Ranger (who is working and is not personally off duty) that
they cannot read the sign. IMPOSSIBLE INSANITY STUPIDITY The beginnings, the testings of how far the Federal government can go with the stupid, obedient peasants!
All this chaos is an Obongo/jaret/soros test
to see what it takes to start violent resistance so they can use the two million bullets on the "violent" peasants.
It´s all a communist set up to create fear
and violence, to have military law in the streets. Any excuse to create chaos. Communist agitation by communist agitators has been going on since Lenin, who created the violence for many decades of Stalinist Soviet tyranny to follow in torn Russia.
Our so called "leaders" are warring against the American citizens, straight out of that frightening Marxist Communist dictatorial rule book of crimes against the peasants.
For starters, read THE NAKED COMMUNIST by
Cleon Skousen in 1958, where he lists the 50 events that will take place to conspire for communism. Read it in Wikipedia !!!

What happens if he tells them to start using some of the huge stockpile of bullets on the citizens who want to access public parks? Will they say it´s disgusting but do it anyway?

yesterday drove from lost wages after a stop in Pahrump through Death Vally (Closed) - gas at one place was almost $6/gal - did not see any rangers at any pay point but all side roads were blocked (plenty of tourists stopping at the Borax and 20 Mule Team) - same when I came to 120 through Yosemite not a ranger to be seen (it was later in the evening) but some of the Barrycades were pushed aside and folks were driving into some of the remote areas

Great Smokey Mountain Park has one entrance in Blountville, Tennessee. The mayor there has offered for the tiny little burg to sustain the cost of operating their portion of the park. He got stonewalled by the U. S. Government.

It is a pretty safe bet that there not many liberals visiting US war memorials unless they are there to vandalize them. This gives Obama an opportunity to punish people who detested him long before this shutdown.

Park Rangers are in an awkward position. The senior people at the Park Service have pulled such stunts before during funding battles-though never to the extent of starts with chicken and rhymes with sit tactics of barricading landscape features. The lower level employees know there are no comparable private sector jobs, plus the pay scale and benefits in most state park services are much lower. There simply aren´t all that many people out there who will jeopardize their financial future and that of their family on principle and defy the order from the top.

800,000 nonessential government workers were put on furlough. The first question that comes to mind is why do we have nonessential workers in the first place? Now we have reports of vindictive behavior on the part of those still on duty so that instead of just losing some government "services", people´s lives and livelihood are being actively interfered with. And now the congress has voted to PAY these people ALL their back pay while they have been on unemployment compensation for the duration? WHEN do the American taxpayers get a seat at this negotiating table?

Update to #31, and follow-on to #56 - apparently going my same route in reverse....

We got to Death Valley and were ready for a similar scenario as at Yosemite. But there was none. We saw absolutely nothing out of the ordinary, coming from the west, until we got to the main intersection where the notable Bad Water road takes off. That was Barry-caded with a ridiculous preprinted sign from the Department of Interior. Several tourists were parked along the roadside, out of their cars, wandering around the still-open and traffic-flowing highway, taking pictures of the sign and the Barry-cade. All were laughing - no one was suffering. No one ´´hurt´´. Pizzed off, maybe, that they couldn´t continue down to Bad Water and take their photos of the Sea Level sign hundreds of feet above their heads. But no one ´´hurt´´. All were joking about the idiot politicians thinking this was something smart or cool or ´´mean´´ they could do to us. Oooohh…..!

(cont´d....)

What those politicians fail to realize is that WE.ARE.AMERICANS. There were no Rangers to be seen, but at that point in California, the desert dwellers have a different mindset than the rest of Cullyfornia. They did what they were ordered to do, but just the barest minimum, and that was all. They weren´t about to come out in their official government-park vehicles and harass anyone.

What´s sad about all this is that foreign tourists are being disappointed, and they have nothing to do with any of this. They´re here to spend their money in our country, and our country is being stupid by not taking it.

What I wish I could have done is stop and ask each and every tourist, who they thought was responsible for the closure. The few I did talk to at Death Valley saw the Gadsden flag sticker on the back window of my evil gas-guzzling SUV, and nodded, ´Yeah, we know who.´

I have this horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach that before this is over me may learn why the Feds were buying up ammo, armored vehicles and tactical gear.

I don´t know if he´s that brazen. I don´t know if he´s really that mentally unbalanced. I really don´t know, but I know anything is possible with a tyrant. And I know it can happen because it´s happened before.

On July 23, 1932, the Secretary of War, under order from Hoover, ordered Gen. Douglas McArthur to clear Washington DC of the Bonus Army, WWI Vets who were due a paycheck and had come to Washington to collect.

McArthur ordered active duty military to fire on the Vets, and the military did just that.

If you think a grunt troop won´t follow the orders of a superior, you´re wrong. It´s what they are taught to do from basic training forward.

If I owned the private property that has been closed by the Obama petty party, I would order them off the premises and hire my own Park People.

That would solve a lot of problems. Less government employees means deficit reduction and a kinder experience from people who know they can be fired for insulting the public.

Now that the subject has been brought front and center, private companies should be hired to run the parks. More efficient and people hired based upon ability, not political patronage and ethnic background.

After 20 years “doing time” in the bureaucracy I can understand the complicit actions of the public interface level Park Rangers. They probably assume the barrycades are political theater and will be removed as soon as the electeds are done reading their lines. They have been through this drill before as shuttering parks and public spaces is the first action taken by electeds in any budget fight whether local, state or federal. In previous shut downs the park interpretive centers were closed along with campgrounds and those employees were furloughed, keeping only a small number of Rangers on duty for fire watch. However, the barrycading of open landscape and memorials, and having park employee presence to enforce them, is something new and much more sinister and ominous.

I’m afraid there is also a new breed of government worker, especially in the park services. They all have “environmental studies” degrees and have been indoctrinated by the socialists. They believe government is much wiser than the public they hold in disdain. Over the last 15-20 years there has been a purge of government employees that held government actions are limited by the liberties of the people. Good people were pushed out while fellow travelers were promoted. Those that still harbor Americanist ideals are in the minority, probably close to retirement and just hanging on. The others have already left for friendlier work environs. That is why the Park Rangers are enforcing these punitive actions, and why all the workers in all the various agencies will enforce the edicts coming from the cabal. They are fellow travelers.

I wish we could afford the trip from California to D.C. We would love to join the Vets March on October 13th.

It isn’t just Obama Holder Boehner Cantor Feinstein Rubio Durbin Reid Puglosi McCain and their petty childish behavior. Regardless of the communist medical lRS police war against the people of America, from the Park Rangers to the IRS, they are beginning to show loss of power by their absurd punishing regulations against honest Americans, from the Tea Party to park tourists. Every vengeful act by bureaucrats and electeds is a sign of their fears of losing power to the new highly technological, best educated citizenry in all of history. Our modern knowledge makes these ancient power driven so-called leaders look less effective each year. Be encouraged, their grand fraud and ignorance of the beauty of the free market, is slowly coming to a decisive END. Communist style laws, confining regulations, are rapidly becoming obsolete history. Except for armed government ruling, and its extensive propaganda tools (like the governmemtn subservient press and TV) this is the greatest, most productive, rewarding time we have ever lived in.

She made the suggestion during a discussion on Sean Hannity’s radio show while speaking of her new book, “Never Trust a Liberal Over 3-Especially a Republican.” Ms. Coulter also addressed the question of Mr. Romney’s shortcomings by saying that his 2012 loss wasn’t entirely his fault. “I think too much blame, not only in this

He’s been hammered for going around Congress with executive orders. But he’s within his authority—and he should go further on voting and transparency to make government work better. With Congress paralyzed, President Obama has promised to use his “pen and phone” to overcome the ongoing dysfunction and get some work done. And the White House has already acted several times to help improve America’s economy. But such policies, no matter how valuable, will achieve little if we do not fix our broken democracy. Allow me to suggest some ideas for how the president can do just that. First, some historical context. Presidents

Here is a selection of highlights from Friday’s release of documents from the Clinton presidency. The cache is part of a total of about 33,000 pages of presidential records that had been held back from various public records releases because of legal reasons exempting them from disclosure. A Clinton administration memo (page 674) shows a White House that was acutely aware of the first lady’s image problems as officials contemplated how to soften perceptions of Hillary Clinton and how to “build, energize and expand” her natural base. I’ll admit that, in the aftermath of the disappointments of the 2012 elections, conservatives like me are angry. President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls. GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter — who used her talk show platform in the last presidential election cycle to campaign hard for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney — has taken up the mantra once again, calling on Republicans to give the failed White House bidder another shot in 2016.

The Clintons had a busy night of celebrations after Chelsea announced she and husband Marc Mezvinsky are expecting a baby. Bill joined “House of Cards” star Kevin Spacey at the Revlon Rainforest Fund Benefit Concert at Carnegie Hall Thursday, joking of Spacey’s Machiavellian character, “When I was president people accused me of murder all the time, made a show of investigating. Spacey’s president for 15 minutes and he gets away with murder.” Spacey, who sang during the event with Sting, Stephen Stills and James Taylor, also showed off his Johnny Carson impression, taking a swipe at the coverage of Flight
